Big congratulations Rockchick - this is a post mmc baby for me so I know just how you're feeling. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy Thanks

char1eston · 23/08/2013 08:18

Many congratulations rockchick, that's great news. Thanks for letting us know. X

Natalieand · 23/08/2013 08:22

Congrats rock chick. Xxx hope everything runs smoothly from here for u x

bluesnowfalcon · 23/08/2013 08:34

Good morning all! Haven't been around for a day or two and have just spent ages catching up and silly baby brain means I can't remember what has been said by who :)

32+2 and have back ache by evening. As for turning over in bed feel like a beached whale already! Dreading going back to work in September as not sure how ill actually manage with 27 4 and 5 year olds all day and then coming home to ds who is 3 and will be tired as starting morning nursery from 9th September too!

Cake and Brew to everyone as cant keep up with all the chat :D

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/08/2013 08:37

No fast turning over in bed for me, more of a carefully planned manoevre, but it did feel very strange when DH went round a roundabout faster than the baby could keep up and I felt it slosh against my side. DH got a telling off for that!

AnythingNotEverything · 23/08/2013 08:41

Huge congrats to rockchick. DS was born in spring and it certainly is a lovely time. Just think - next Christmas he/she will be at the table tucking into Christmas dinner with you!

BowlFullofJelly · 23/08/2013 08:53

Congratulations Rockchick, so pleased for you. March is a lovely birthday, you'll have a lovely spring and summer with your little one!

Last day of work today woo hoo! Feels very different going on maternity leave this time. Last time I took 4 months, and so was pretty much already thinking about coming back when I went. This time I'm not even sure I'll be back, and if I am it won't be for at least 9 months. It is amazing how little people know about how shite maternity pay is. Have just had a convo with my team about the £136 a week I will get after 6 weeks, and most of them are gobsmacked and thought you got paid as normal for a year. Think I have put at least 3 women off having babies anytime soon!

Good luck with GTT today pseudo - I hope you are feeling better and less stressed soon Flowers

cazboldy · 23/08/2013 08:55

Congrats Rockchick Smile

TheFalconsmistress · 23/08/2013 09:03

Amazing news rockchick Grin

Well last night I severely vomited and had a bout of the runs along with Braxton Hicks. I thought my body had given up on me it was awful. I looked it up aparently its pre labour can happen anytime from 34 Weeks and last for Weeks Sad

On the plus side she seems head down again Smile

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 23/08/2013 09:11

Gosh Falcons that sounds horrible and a bit scary - hope you are feeling ok now.

PseudoBadger · 23/08/2013 09:24

Anyone fancy a live GTT update?

  1. Holy shit that drink was disgusting. Next blood test 10.20....

Sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish Falcon :(

TheFalconsmistress · 23/08/2013 09:30

Yeh i feel a bit better today thank you xx

Are you having the horrible flat coke stuff pseudo? I felt so ill after it too Confused

Sparkeleigh · 23/08/2013 09:38

Congratulations rockchick thats wonderful news!

Oh no Falcon that sounds rough. Glad you're feeling a bit better this morning.

pseudo yuk, do you have to drink any more or was that it?

I'm so jealous bowlful enjoy your last day!

I'm working from home today because I woke up with the runs and a really painful back and I just couldn't face work. Currently rolling around on a Swiss ball while trying to use my laptop, I suspect any neighbours who see me will think I'm nuts!

PseudoBadger · 23/08/2013 09:38

I think it was literally a glucose syrup mixed with boiling water. Clear, no colour. Horrid!

OP posts:
PseudoBadger · 23/08/2013 09:39

That was it Sparkeleigh, now for 2 more blood tests an hour apart.

OP posts:
Shirehobbit · 23/08/2013 10:03

Sounds proper yuck, Pseudo - hope the time passes quickly. Have you planned your first meal, post-test?

Hope you feel better soon, Falcon and Sparkleigh and congratulations on the last day of work, Jelly!

Off to the hospital for an appointment with a consultant anesthetist (to find out if my back could take an epidural, if needed).

It's a bit warm and sticky here, today...

MotherOfNations · 23/08/2013 10:09

So pleased for you rockchick. I've thought about you often as you were a great support to me when I had my worrying scans.

That sounds bad Falcon If it is going to last until labour you'll be hoping you go at 37 wks.

Good luck today Pseudo. I'm on my way for my growth scan and hopefully they can do something about the bleeding from my urethra as when I phoned the GP's surgery for the results of my urine analysis yesterday they told me to phone back on Monday. A week is a long time when you're worried.

Natalieand · 23/08/2013 10:15

Best of luck at your scan MoN xx

Bleurgh for u pseudo so glad I got away with drinking lucozade for mine xx

claphammama · 23/08/2013 10:18

good luck pseudo! sounds disgusting... when will you have the results?

hope you feel better falcon and sparkeleigh! Didn't know these pre-labour things can kick in so early

tarlia so good to see you back Grin and sorry you feel rubbish. Was worried something happened with all your BP problems etc

bowlfull so so jealous... and yes, it feels so different knowing you may not come back no? What do you have planned for these few remaining weeks at home? hope you will have a chance to treat yourself before the D day

soup forgot to say yesterday - I love Edinburgh! Didn't realise this is where you live. It's such an amazing city and must be so great now with this weather and the festival month. I've been there 5 times always with work and always around film / TV festival. I totally fell in love with this city!

blues this is what happened to me the last two days - my back was ok all day, until around 6pm, and then agony... I'm not a bath person but had a long warm (probably slightly too warm Confused) soak last night and it really helped. Try it if you haven't already. I'm now even more set on water birth

rockchick great news Grin

and orange yes, it was a good lesson last night - need to remember to keep these knees together. Lets face it - if we had all kept our knees together, we wouldn't be in this position now!

claphammama · 23/08/2013 10:20

and crosspost - best of luck MoN!

PseudoBadger · 23/08/2013 10:22

There's a mcdonalds outside Shire that's all I'm saying...
Good luck MoN, that's awful to have such a long wait for results :(
I love Lucozade Nat so that would've been perfect!

MotherOfNations · 23/08/2013 10:33

Edinburgh's ok but Glasgow's miles better Grin

claphammama · 23/08/2013 10:39

I've never been to Glasgow MoN! You need to show me around one day Grin

Shirehobbit · 23/08/2013 10:41

Ooh, MacDonalds...now there's an idea Grin

JellyCurls · 23/08/2013 10:41

MoN I remember that slogan from years ago, used to be stuck on side of buildings when driving M8 near to Scotland St School exit. When I was wee I thought it said "Glasgow smiles better" and I thought everyone from Glasgow must have lovely teeth and be very happy.

First week of mat leave over and I am no more organised than I was. Got family visiting this weekend so will need to leave it all till next week now.

Good luck all with scans, tests and appointments today
