I'm sure I forget lots......... Flowers to all.

32 weeks today

Natalieand · 22/08/2013 05:13

I'm here too moan. Can't sleep. Stitch pain in my side pins and needles in my foot, stomach ache in general, and overall feeling crappy ness and dd will probly be awake in an hour
Sad AND dh is snoring like a pig

Roll on tommorows bed time that's what I say xx

monkeytree · 22/08/2013 07:06

You're not alone Natalie, I have also been awake since 4.00 am. Sorry to hear about all your aches and pains. Got up and did some on-line shopping at 5.30 am - not good for the bank balance all this insomnia. DD will wake up shortly and DH was fast asleep. It's going to be me whose tired and irritable today but I'd rather DH sleep so that he can have more tolerance with DD (DH has this week and next week off of work).

Warlin Hope you feel better today, things seemed very overwhelming for you yesterday.

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/08/2013 07:14

Chickieno yes I heard about some foods causing wind/colic etc but those foods are pretty much my staple diet and what I eat is quite restricted already so we are hoping the baby will get used to them while inside me and not mind my milk. I am going to avoid making spicy things like chilli and curry to start with but I hope onions/garlic/tomato/beans/broccoli are ok... Maybe I will switch from orange to apple juice.

I had another not bad nights sleep. Two in a row, the baby and my body are spoiling me! Very hot and sticky again this morning though. Hope everyone else got a bit of rest.

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/08/2013 07:15

Sorry you didn't sleep well natalie and monkey, cross posts.

rubytwosday · 22/08/2013 07:53

chicken I didn't know that about certain foods . Thanks for the info. Have so far cooked and frozen lasagna, meatballs in sauce and beef tagine so tonnes of onion and garlic! Like orange says - maybe she will just get used to it if my milk always tastes oniony ( poor baby!)
Off to school in a bit because its Gcse results day. I have 3 classes getting results - pretty nervous as the news is already saying that Science results are down on last year. Most of my students really deserve to do well so fx for them all.
Hope all the poor sleepers have a restful day today.

Natalieand · 22/08/2013 08:07

Bit random but I just wondered what the going rate is too rent a 3 bedroom house is in each of the areas u ladies live in?it seems to be 950 around here which seems a bit extortionate too me. Xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/08/2013 08:15

In West Kensington/Fulham we were paying £1300 a month for a nice 1 bed basement flat 4 years ago.

In even further SW London/Surrey now a 3 bed house costs about the same to rent, £1200-£1400. My sister's budget was the low end of this and she found it very hard to find anywhere around here. She also found 2 beds weren't uh cheaper.

zoopla is a good website to look up house prices and suggested rental values in your area.

Pinkforboys · 22/08/2013 08:21

Morning ladies, sorry to hear some of you were up so early with aches and pains. I'm finding my dreams are more vivid and nights more restless now. And ironically I was woken at dawn by the noise of the country- wood pigeons at it already! I find London so much quieter!

THere must have been something in the water yesterday- I had a heart felt chat with DH in the morn as he shared his work woes. The joy of parenthood is marred by financial fears. He's self-employed too and having to let his assistant go cos we can't afford him anymore so there's no way he'll be able to take any paternity leave. Fx I'll be able to sort out SMP thru his/our company. Not sure how to sort it yet Confused

I'm also at a career crossroads- haven't been in my trained profession since DS, want to change, but feel both nervous and too aged to change now (41) part of me would love to teach- but ruby I admire all you teachers when I've been in taking a class for an hour, but I get to leave and you have to cope with 30 kids all day every day! Good luck with the results today x

Sorry- long morning post.

Wishing good days to you all x

Iheartcrunchiebars · 22/08/2013 08:22

Anything from £900 if youre lucky to 2000! (Not in London)

Pinkforboys · 22/08/2013 08:24

ps- the only food I've heard of to avoid (for some) when bf is tomatoes. Gave my niece dreadful colic.

pps- I meant to say that I really appreciate being able to share and hear other's woes about ML. I wish there was a golden magic wand to wave and fill all our bank accounts with dosh, but failing that it's somehow reassuring to know that we're not alone.

Haylebop12 · 22/08/2013 08:29

West Midlands anything between 450 and 800 depending on where you are really.

We pay £575 for a small two bed in one of the nicest areas and the best school.

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/08/2013 08:31

Gap have 25% off baby and kids online today whoever was asking about sales yesterday, use code BTS25. I am not buying anything else now though!

Natalieand · 22/08/2013 08:35

The only thing that's stopping me buying n e more orange is knowing about my suprise baby shower lol I'm gunna hold off until after then

I am in a reasonable sized 2 bed house ATM paying £700 which is relatively cheap as its private let with an agent would probly be Round £750. Looking to move to a 3 bed but they all seem to be about 950+ and I just don't no I I can justify all that extra rent just for an extra bedroom :-( but then I want the kiddy winks to have their own rooms.... Decisions decisions

Pinkforboys · 22/08/2013 08:36

and H&M have 20% off kids/baby til 27.8.13 with code 0571

Flyer747 · 22/08/2013 08:37

We just rented our 2 bed out for £700 PCM in Liverpool, in a nice area. Again dependant on area probably £700-900 for a 3 bed house in the areas in and around where we are now in south liverpool

PseudoBadger · 22/08/2013 08:40

Bloody hell! I was paying £850 PCM for a 2 bed in London in 2000! I wish I could leave london....

I'll catch up with the thread later (just trying to get a stroppy DS ready for the CM) - he's stroppy as he had me awake for 2 hours (1-3am) and he kept waking back up when I left his room. So tired and sore from lying on his floor :(

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 22/08/2013 08:48

Another bad night for me - woke about 4am with horrific heartburn and needing a wee - don't know what happened - but I ended up falling out of bed when I tried to get up. Has anyone been to the doctor for something stronger than gaviscon.

Oh Pink, if that magic wand ever appears, please, please wave it in my direction.

Good luck Ruby - I hope your students get the results they deserve. I bet a fair few of them had trouble sleeping last night too...

Natalie - I've had a quick look on Rightmove and 3 bed rents start at about £1300 pcm around me (east Surrey). Some (detached, decent garden, 3 double rooms, near good schools and station) are up to about £1,800. We are in the funny situation where we would struggle to afford to rent the house we are in, and we are at the lower end.

Chickie - a morrck blanket is a travel blanket with a hood and holes for carseat/pushchair straps...

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 22/08/2013 08:52

Sympathies Pseudo - DP and I have spent our fair share of nights on DD's bedroom floor over the years...definitely leads to stiff bones next day.

Flyer747 · 22/08/2013 08:55

This sounds very petty and ott I have just ventured downstairs and into the kitchen to make my breakfast. At the moment I'm craving bagels, cream chesse, smoked salmon, capers and tomato so that's what I've been eating for b'fast the past week or so, dp and his brother (who is staying with us for a few days) have eaten all my bagels (4 left) and smoked salmon last night after a few bottles of wine, so peed off AngryAngryAngry

Flyer747 · 22/08/2013 08:57

Oh and I'm late for work as I slept through my alarm. A great morning so far!

BowlFullofJelly · 22/08/2013 09:14

Oh flyer that breakfast sounds yummy, no wonder your peed off.

That blanket looks awesome bridget, I haven't see those before. I have a couple of snow suits left over from DS so won't be buying anymore - plus I am hot blooded and so tend to not over dress my children. October the last few years has been really warm, and as I am due at the very start of the month I hope I'll get a few mild ish months before winter sets in.

The Christmas chat has got me all excited - love love love Christmas! I'm so tempted to stay at home this year, just the 4 of us - but I know the family would be really disappointed. Not sure what to do....

DS has been a pure delight this morning. He came in for cuddles at about 6, and told me 'You are a lovely Mummy because you make all of my dinners. And sandwiches. You are the most lovely Mummy in the whole week' (assume he meant world). Then proceeded to kiss and cuddle the bump while chattering away about all of things he is going to buy the baby. Smile. Makes it all worth it.

Warlin · 22/08/2013 09:15

Hi All

Thanks for your kind words yesterday...was just having a down day. Feeling much better today so must have been hormones. I think as legally said the trick is not to think about all the uncertainties and just enjoy this time!! I'm sure we will all get by ok.

nat I'm in NI and we rent out the houses we had before we lived together. Mine is 2 bed townhouse and DH's is 3 bed semi..both in nice areas and rent for £850. So I suppose it doesn't necessarily mean you pay extra for the bedroom, it just depends what house type is in more demand. We don't want to sell either until the market picks up a bit so we currently rent my sister's 4 bedroom house as it's in the area we want to live. I do wish we were just able to sell our houses and buy somewhere together but it's just not possible with the way the market is at the minute. The problem we have is that my sister's house is lovely but we would never be able to afford to buy it from her so are facing a downsize at some stage :( She and her husband live in London and doubt they'll be back due to jobs etc.

So what lies are we telling about our due dates now? Someone asked me yesterday how many weeks I had left and I said 3.. Hmm Just came out and I'm not sure if that was just wishful thinking or if I'm assuming I'll go at 37 weeks again...lol. I suspect I will have a lot longer than that in reality! Fed up with people commenting on the size, position of my bump too. It's so rude!

contesse I would just tell MIL that she will just have to play it by ear with her crash helmet and that you can't make any plans at the minute.

GT fair play for living with your PILs..I assume you get on well? Would be my idea of hell with mine :)

jelly I would just make the appointment and go. I am being seen fornightly from 34 weeks and I think that's standard practice. It's your baby and your health so you have to pushy to ensure you get what you want/ need

Hopw everyone has as comfortable a day as possible.

Wickedgirl · 22/08/2013 09:35

I'm another one that was awake at 4. I finally got back to sleep at about 6.30 and then the phone went at 7.20 and woke me up again. I will need an afternoon nap today I think. I couldn't get to sleep last night either due to sore hips and reflux.

Bridget......I am thinking if seeing a dr about reflux. Rennies and gaviscon are useless and not worth taking. I am getting so fed up with feeling sick constantly and having my throat burning all of the time

I have turned into such a whinge bag recently. Everything I do hurts. My Physio has said there's nothing else she can do to help with the SPD but if I need her help after the baby's here, contact her again.

I still have 7 weeks to go and am getting really fed up

(Sorry for the moany post)
