Hello everyone,
I've been catching up as I haven't posted for a while. My heart goes out to those with sad news
Thingy fingers crossed all will be absolutely fine, but I understand how it can be worrying. Let us know when you've seen a midwife.
I've had a busy week so far telling people the 'news'. I decided to tell my boss as he's on holiday for a few weeks after this week and it felt like too long to wait, when I feel like I'm showing already (not that anyone had noticed due to all of my baggy tops!). Being a man, he didn't really know what to say, but he was happy for me. He then spent the rest of the day trying to work out what to do with my role when I'm on mat leave, as I work 3 days and it's not straightforward to find a replacement from outside the business. But at least I've given plenty of time to sort it out! He also asked if he needed to get me a special chair... I didn't think my bum had grown THAT much!
Champagne, I agree with others that you should accept the invite if it's a good friend, and she'll understand if you can't make it. With a first baby you're more likely to be late than early anyway! (sorry!)
My office is already planning the Xmas do and I've booked a hotel for mid December in the city centre as taxi's cost so much. I don't think I'll be partying all night in my highest heels but don't fancy the faff of getting a last train home by myself. I figure that it'll be my last chance in a while for a night out so hopefully I can cope with it at 7 months gone!
My last birth experience was a c section as she was breech. I'm the most squeamish person ever but the staff calmed me down as much as possible, and delivered her perfectly with no problems for either of us. I may not have pushed her out myself but it was still an acheivement - I'd 'grown' her for 9 months and my perfect little girl was here safe and sound! You can't ask for more than that. So the only birth advice I can give is be prepared for anything but ultimately you have to trust your doctors/midwifes on what's best for you and baby! If it was that bad no one would ever have more than one child.
Sorry for my essay, I'll finish on fashion .
I ordered a few dresses from Seraphine which looked lovely on the website. However on 5ft 2 me the 'knee' length dresses were almost at my ankles and the sizing was huge! Quality also wasn't up to much. Very disappointed! If you're tall then you could give them a go, but go down a size unless you want a baggy shapeless smock!
Next Maternity also seem to have big sizes - I'm usually a 12 in bottoms and the size 10 skirt I have from them plenty of growing room! Anyone have any other clothes recommendations?
