Loves to bake, I stayed in my normal clothes till well past 20 weeks last time, before I even has to start using waistband extenders. This time, I am in maternity trousers and I am only 13+6. I have got a proper, hard baby bump, it's not just podge. If it carries on growing at this rate I won't fit through doorways before Christmas :-S

amicusapple · 12/08/2013 21:38

Thanks everyone! Treated baby to a tesco finest Belgian chocolate mousse to celebrate Smile

Sassy20 · 12/08/2013 21:47

Amicus that's fantastic news - well done baby! Smile

Choco and 212 sorry to hear you're both poorly. Hope you're on the mend soon. X

Sassy20 · 12/08/2013 21:47

Forgot to add its finally my scan tomorrow. Nervous and excited - just hoping all is ok.

laura0007 · 12/08/2013 21:54

Good luck sassy! It's a great feeling!

Has anyone looked at the ons baby names for 2012. I'm gutted, the names I like are a lot more popular than I thought they were. Just wish I didn't love them quite so much Sad

Littleen · 12/08/2013 21:55

that is brilliant amicus :) good to hear!
good luck on scan sassy20!

LittlePandaBear · 12/08/2013 22:26

Hi everyone,

Amicus, amazing news! Smile

Sorry to hear of those injured, constipated, sick etc. Pregnancy is no walk in the park, we're meant to be blooming! I am one of the lucky ones - just been extra tired and a bit headachy this week. Does anyone else think that pregnancy symptoms are hereditary? My mum had 'easy' pregnancies and so did my sister, not sure if it's linked.

Buggywise - I have an Oyster from DD which I'll use for this one too. It's a travel system and is great if you have a small car/house as it's quite compact. Good for going round town - it has small wheels so not good if you like to do lots of outdoor walks!

I've also been looking at the baby name stats today. No real surprises for me as I've been looking at them for the past few years anyway! The trouble I have is that DD's name is quite unusual (around 700) and the boy's name I like is top 20 (not that I know if it's a boy!) It doesn't seem 'fair' somehow if DD has a more unique name than child number 2! But I guess loving the name is more important than popularity.

I bought some New Look jeans at the weekend and have been wearing maternity trousers and a skirt for work now, my tummy can't cope with normal clothes any more! Am also worried I will resemble an elephant by the end at this rate!

Oooh good luck with the scan sassy! So exciting!

I'm dreading having to actually decide on a name! We've got two boys names we like (one of which most people will be like "that's not a name you weirdos!") and girls name wise there are a few I like that DH doesn't and a name he likes - which isn't even a name (although apparently it is in an unusual name baby book along with the lovely Avacado!) just his "favourite word" - I do kinda like it for a girls name but people would just be like wtf?! Don't know how much I actually care but don't wanna lumber baby with a stupid name!

Buggy wise - good to know about the oyster littlepanda. I was all excited that I might have found what I wanted with the sola - then after finding loads of good reviews online found loads of people saying "it's shite and the wheels fall of!" I do know two ladies with it tho who love it so still v unsure. Also DH bless him found the measurements online and decided that the clothes airer when collapsed is approximately the right size - and we couldn't fit it in the boot so that might be it vetoed right there!

A guy at work has recommended phil and teds ones as they are "ace" apparently so been having a look at those. Seems good that they mostly convert to doubles incase we do have another close to this one (ugh the thought of another first trimester!) but I just still am so undecided about what we need!

We live in a town/city so don't need a super off roader or anything - but I do have visions of country walks etc so should probably get one that is built for atleast grassiness. Gosh there are just so bloody many to pick from!

sunflowered · 12/08/2013 23:01

Great news amicus - you must be so relieved. I hope the baby enjoyed its celebration treat Smile

Travel systems and carry cots still feel a bit overwhelming at the moment - so much choice, it's harder than choosing a car! Think I need to feel/look a bit more pregnant before we go buggy shopping, at the moment it feels like I could be making the whole thing up. Plus we're in the middle of decorating so it would only get splattered in paint if we got it now

CubanoHabana · 13/08/2013 00:19

Oh my god! ANOTHER nose bleed... Really long one this time but I eventually got it stopped! Used to suffer really badly when younger, had nose cauterised 7 times but I seemed to grow out of them, hope this isn't the start of them again... I read somewhere that nose bleeds are more likely in pregnancy... Grr! Guess I need a towel on my pillow tonight as it literally started so fast, I was lucky I had tissue next to me And if it does it when I am asleep the bed wont survive!

homebyninethirty · 13/08/2013 05:43

I've been totally rubbish at keeping up with this thread but have resolved to do better! Smile

Amicus absolutely excellent news!

Sassy hope your scan goes well!

I had my scan last Friday and everything was great - baby was very well behaved and obligingly in just the right position for all the measurements. I haven't really had any symptoms at all and had got myself quite worried that something had gone wrong so for anyone else with the same worries, hope this is reassuring.

Has anyone else started/thinking about going to pregnancy yoga? I went to a class for the first time last night - was bricking it before hand because I'm seriously rubbishly inflexible (have never been able to touch my toes, even as a kid) but it was really good and I would highly recommend it...

misskatamari · 13/08/2013 06:43

Awww I'm glad your scan went well homeby Smile it must be hard to not worry with no symptoms (although I am very jealous!) even those of us feeling rotten have been worrying. I guess it's natural isnt it when we can't actually see what's happening inside us.

They do pregnancy yoga at my gym and I really want to start attending - think its on tues and sat so fingers crossed this week I can give it a go. Glad you enjoyed it - I'm a bit nervous about t too. I've done a bit of yoga before but nothing major and I am v v much a beginner!

laura0007 · 13/08/2013 07:21

If anyone lives near Loughborough they are doing 4d scans for £29 on wowcher. Just slightly too far away for me!

Thingymajigs · 13/08/2013 07:24

Great news amicus. What a clever baby. Smile
I really want to start pregnancy pilates or yoga asap but my MW told me to take it easy for a bit because of the old bleeding. When I think I'm ok I'll be straight into classes.
Huge sympathies for those struggling with constipation and piles. I'm also having a bad time of it and had a fright after seeing blood last night. Really thought I was losing the baby, but nope, just another glamorous pregnancy side affect.
Having an amazing time in lovely Cornwall. So nice to recharge especially as I can actually sleep here which is such a relief after a week of insomnia. Must be the sea air.

Thingymajigs · 13/08/2013 07:25

ooh I live there laura, what a weird coincidence. Thanks I'll take a look.

Shropshiremummy2b · 13/08/2013 07:31

homeby my DH has just signed us up to my local country club so I have my first prenatal aqua class on weds, very excited. They don't do specific yoga for up the duffers but you can just go to normal yoga and tell the instructor. But as I've never done it before I'm not sure il bother.

littlepanda totally agree it runs in the family, when I was crying to my mummy telling her that I was worried because I just didn't feel pregnant she said 'why do you think I had three of you?! I loved being pregnant'. That was the point I started to realise how lucky I am.

laura luckily none of my names are in the list, although they to me are all names you'll have heard before..... They are also the kind of names that if you search them on mn people say 'why are you trying to be posh?' And 'pretentious'!! Booooooo.

Thingymajigs · 13/08/2013 07:55

Thanks for the info laura just bought a 4d scan. Smile DP is a bit against them though as he says all babies look like squished aliens in detailed scans but he's going anyway.

laura0007 · 13/08/2013 07:58

Yay thingy, glad to be of service! Grin Just gutted its too far away for me and the ones near me are over £150!

Shropshire, I'm guessing at Humphrey and Bunty GrinWink bet I'm right!! Boys name I like is top 20 and girls is top 10! Grrr

vix206 · 13/08/2013 08:22

Amicus I'm thrilled to hear your news Smile

My mum had barely any symptoms with me and I feel very lucky to only have a few niggles. No sickness or even proper nausea. Just very hungry.

Aches and pains were my worst issues with DS later on in pregnancy.

Somanychanges · 13/08/2013 08:25

Good luck with the scan Sassy.

Amicus what great news.

misskatamari · 13/08/2013 08:47

Bleurgh I am feeling so sick and horrid this morning. Think it's worse as I've been up since 6 and feel really tired. Gotta stay up as virgin are coming to install today. Luckily DHs work have had problems with their electricity as he's been sent home - I can therefore have a bath which will hopefully help me feel better as I won't have to be waiting by the door! I thought sickness was supposed to be done with by now Hmm 15+3 today. Hopefully by 16 weeks ill be right as rain!

Excellent news about the scan deal - that's awesome. I agree babies do look scary on them but id still have one!

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough again missk - hope you feel better after your bath.

laura I think my name was in the top 10 when I was little but I've met very few others of a similar age - I'd say that if you like it, go for it! Better than going for something really unusual and finding there are 3 others with your unique name in your dc's year I guess. I think people would expect to see a couple of little sophia's or amelia's in a class - just fingers crossed if there are 2 then the other one doesn't turn out to be the naughtiest child in the class as happened with my db - no end of confusion when dm tried to keep up with the playground gossip...

I'm not sure if I'd like to get a 3d scan or not - part of me would find it really reassuring to see everything in the right place, but I do find the images a bit scary - a bit too much like a wax work. Think that's just me being neurotic though! Do you think they'll ever replace the standard scans as a routine medical test?
