Ouch choco that sounds nasty. Do they know how long they think it will take to mend?

jazzcat dh has his head in the sand about the whole thing... Trying to break him in gently!

Shropshiremummy2b · 12/08/2013 12:05

champagne I have read every one of your posts with horror and of course sympathy. I'm afraid I am one of those lucky twats. Apart from being tired I feel fantastic, please read any of my previous complaining posts with an enormous pinch of salt! I'm genuinely sorry for all you poorly girls.

littlest when I read your post about going from walking from new look to boots in my head I was tracing your journey past Peacocks!! I'm just occasionally glancing out the window looking for an exceptionally tall girl guide!!!

Cubano I could have had the x-ray if I'd wanted to but as the treatment was going to be the same diagnosed or not I thought it not worth the risk. I may have to go back though in a week if it is not getting any better.

Sunflower it'll probably be 6 weeks at least, even if it's just a bad sprain. I'll be hobbling in for my 20 week scan!

I was just massively bothered about bean because I fell quite heavily, but no-one seems too bothered by that. They were more concerned about my ankle blowing up like a zeppelin Shock

Everyone seems to be falling apart at the moment! So much for our blooming second trimester, eh? I hope all the drugs/rest/herbal supplements etc get everyone back in order.

I knew how bad pregnancy could be cause a friend of mine had HG and lost 2 stone (she was skinny to begin with and doctors were worried she'd lose the baby) but I didn't envisage myself getting it, ha ha ha.

Champagne we went to France for a long weekend (really don't know why) when I was in a terrible way with the HG. I vomited seven times on the half hour drive to the airport and twice in the airport. But on the plane I was remarkably ok. Just make sure you get a window seat and you have lots of freezer bags, wet wipes, etc so you can tuck yourself away privately. Good luck!! I also found having boiled sweets really helped on the journey.

Vix thanks for sharing that story - I know I for one wouldn't imagine constipation being able to cause anywhere near that level of nightmare.

My first poo after my worst few weeks of HG was horrific. I'm regular now but there's always a tiny bit of blood on the tissue when I wipe. My only advice is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Also exercise helps (don't worry - not suggesting anyone goes for a run - but even a walk or if you can bear it some squats).

I haven't gone public on FB either but some friends have done congrats messages for me on their walls - not picked up by the masses fortunately, but I don't really mind.

I am still paranoid, particularly since I'm now just shy of 15 weeks and still not showing. All these terrible scenarios revolving around baby suddenly stopping growing at 13 weeks are going round my head.

Sorry for the mammoth post - just trying to catch up on all the chatter :)

Wow, you ladies are really suffering! So many problems piled on top of existing/persisting nausea. I came back on here to complain that Next have not delivered my maternity clothes, but am going to instead send massive flowers, (decaf) tea and sympathy to you all. But, in 5 or 6 month's time we'll be bouncing mini gurgling people on our knees and slowly forgetting how grim the journey was to get here. Flowers

EeyoreIsh · 12/08/2013 14:29

Sorry to hear about those who are struggling.

212 I had labryinthitis once, it was bloody awful. You have my sympathies and I hope you recover soon.

choco Oh dear, I hope your ankle heels soon and baby is ok after the fall.

constipation is such a pain in the arse, literally. I go from upset tummy to days without anything. The prune juice worked a bit, but I'm willing to try the glycerin suppositories I'd necessary! They sell them in my local chemist for a few quid. The other thing that helps is warm water, but to be honest it's not touching it at the moment. Being able to stomach fruit juices and fruit again helped for a little bit.

Our holiday has been spoilt today by my poor husband getting a very poorly tummy, and him getting bitten all over by some nasty critters. The hotel have moved us into a much nicer room, and my husband is being very stoical (well, he can't really complain about 24 hours of upset tummy after I've had about 10 weeks of it!). But it's taken the shine off today :( I may need to lie by the pool to recoup my holiday feeling!

I hope no more bad luck happens to us, we deserve a break after the first trimester, surely?!

Littleen · 12/08/2013 15:44

Bearfrills - I did get checked with a doppler at 10 weeks, but little one was still so far down under my pelvis that it was impossible to hear anything. Will ask again when I go in next week (will be 13+2 then so should have moved up) - because I really am anxious! Had a terrible nightmare about losing the baby last night (again)!

Anyway, have to celebrate a little! My boyfriend just got a 50% job, starting in a few weeks, and tomorrow we are moving in to our own flat, with bathroom and shower and washing machine! hurray :)

misskatamari · 12/08/2013 17:19

Choco - so sorry to hear about your ankle, what a bloody nightmare. I hope it's not too painful for you!

I braved John Lewis and Mamas and Papas today to try to find out more about prams (as i'm totally clueless!). Left John Lewis almost as confused as there are just so bloody many. Less fond of the icandy apple now too - I was intrigued as a)its on offer and b) it converts to a double however it seems that to convert it you need to buy a ridiculous amount of extra stuff - including a new carrycot which just seems ridiculous so I'm not that impressed.

The lady in mamas and papas was really helpful and I quite liked their Sola - although she could just have been showing me that as it's their own brand.

Looks cute tho, plus is apparently suitable from birth without the carrycot as the pushchair goes flat, so saves shelling out for something which will only have a few months use. They also have a limited edition offer or the pushchair, car seat, adapters, footmuff, raincover and changing bag for £450 (although there is a purple one which also caught my eye not on offer). I just don't wanna spend a hugely expensive amount on a pushchair as i'm sure as long as it does the job i'll be a happy bunny! Still lots more research to do i guess!

Bearfrills · 12/08/2013 17:28

marzipanned, once you're at 13wks the chances of miscarriage drop to just 1% (less than 1% according to some articles). In my third pregnancy I had a mmc at 15wks and all of the explanations given to me by medical staff included the phrase "this is very rare". So to reassure you, and anyone else who is worried, the odds are massively in your favour. Even prior to 13wks they're in your favour - 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage before 13wks but that means 3 in every 4 don't. That's three quarters. I'd put money on odds that good :)

EeyoreIsh, boo to poorly tummies but yay to the nicer room. I hope you get your holiday mojo back :o

Littleen, fingers crossed baby is far enough up for them to at least catch a whisper of heartbeat or even some movement (the swishy sounds are baby moving).

Thanks for all the loo advice everyone, going to pick some Sennakot up tomorrow. It won't give me the runs will it ...?

tinypolkadot · 12/08/2013 17:45

So sorry to hear of those who are suffering in other ways, hope you get lots of rest and feel better soon.

misskatamari I think the Sola bundle was on offer at bounty last week, not sure if it's still there. They change their offers every week, so it's worth a look.

I'm so pissed off right now, I've had a banging head all day and felt crappy all through work. One of my colleagues thought it would be funny to put a big black plastic spider on my keyboard and frighten me half to death. Even asked one of my closer colleagues if he should and she said yes! Needless to say they won't be repeating that. Who the f**k thinks it's a good idea to deliberately scare a pregnant woman? Or am I just having a sense if humour failure?

Bah, going to try and eat some dinner now.

amicusapple · 12/08/2013 20:09

Sorry to hear so many are still feeling rubbish, hopefully it will all start to subside very soon.

Can I recommend a big bowl of bran flakes each morning (for those who can manage) to help keep things moving. Smile

So I had my return visit to the consultant for a scan today. Turns out my very clever baby has managed to fix itself and the abdominal abnormality has disappeared! Doctor was very surprised and apologetic for all the worry. The sense of relief is immense Smile

tinypolkadot · 12/08/2013 20:13

amicus that's brilliant news! You must be so relieved! You are indeed having a very clever baby Smile

Bearfrills · 12/08/2013 20:15

Maybe Baby Amicus has a career in medicine ahead of him/her? Clever baby and I'm glad everything is now well :o

misskatamari · 12/08/2013 20:16

Amicus that is amazing news, I am so happy for you! What a massive relief for you. So glad to hear baby is healthy and well Grin

I agree about the bran flakes! Definitely helps matters Smile

Milkandtwo · 12/08/2013 20:18

wow Amicus that's incredible news!

littlestgirlguide · 12/08/2013 20:35

Fabulous news Amicus! Really happy for you!

laura0007 · 12/08/2013 20:36

That's really great amicus! What a clever baby Smile

You must be so relieved!

DawnOfTheDee · 12/08/2013 20:41

Oooh Amicusapple...maybe your baby is actually a superhero and has healed itself like that cheerleader girl off of Heros or summat. I can see you on the g&t boards this time next year.... Grin

Fab news!

CubanoHabana · 12/08/2013 20:52

amicus that's fab news, what a relief for you!

LovesToBake · 12/08/2013 20:59

Wow, what fantastic news Amicus, clever baby indeed! Bet you'll sleep well tonight.

marzipanned · 12/08/2013 21:03

Amicus, that is absolutely brilliant news. What a relief for you. I'm so pleased!

Bear, I know you're right about the stats... and rationally I know it is so, so unlikely... but I am a worry wart :) I think part of it is - it took us so long to conceive, and the first trimester has been so awful, that if something went wrong I'm not sure I could go through it all again. Silly way to think I know.

EeyoreIsh · 12/08/2013 21:09

What a miracle amicus, you must be so relieved. clever mini amicus!

LovesToBake · 12/08/2013 21:19

My bump has suddenly popped out, thank goodness I told work today a I honestly don't think I would be able to hide it tomorrow. I swear this didn't happen until at least 16 weeks with my DS. I'm only 12+4 now, eek! Does this mean I'm going to be enormous this time or do you just get bigger earlier and then plateau? Any multi-mums remember?
