The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Frizz not sure if this will make you feel better, but I didn't start putting on any weight until around week 13/14, when suddenly was putting on around 1.5lbs per week. I weighed myself this morning and have actually now lost 1.5lbs since last week, but scan showed all was well yesterday with bubs (and baby was certainly packing on the lbs) so I am not concerned yet . I think if I continued to just lose weight I would start to worry, but for now I am just going to continue to monitor things....

frizz I was pretty small, non existent bump till about 5 and a half/6 months. Toddlermouse came out at 8lb5 but there was worry of him being between 9 and 10 because of his size (esp his head)
I'm quite petite generally and was 49kg pre pg.
I'm still not showing now. All we can do is eat well and try not to get to het up on the numbers.

TobyLerone · 10/08/2013 09:33

Ah, sorry. I haven't got one either, although there have been times I was very tempted!

We're taking my gorgeous nephew swimming today. He is the biggest water baby I've ever known, so it should be fun!

enormouse · 10/08/2013 09:39

Just remembered frizz a large proportion of the weight you put on is fluid and placenta. I forget what the actual percentage is. I think baby does most of his growing in the second and third trimester.

Sultanajo · 10/08/2013 09:46

Have fun splashing around Toby!

Frizz1986 · 10/08/2013 10:47

Thanks guys. Its so silly that i am actually concerned about not putting on weight.

Have fun toby

Sultanajo · 10/08/2013 11:12

Frizz it is silly, but I am exactly the same. I was worried because I lost weight and then didn't put any on for ages. Then I was relieved when I started to put on weight and then I was worried because of the amount I was putting on and then I was relieved when I lost a bit and then worried because I didn't know why I had lost some and if I hadn't had the scan yesterday I would I am sure be in the same worrying boat as you!

Worry worry worry! I will worry about EVERYTHING until the little one is safely out and then the worrying about them being out will begin.... I actually said to DH yesterday when we found out it was a boy "OMG, he is gonna want to start driving at some point and what if he isn't sensible behind the wheel. What if he wants a motorbike...! What if he gets a girl pregnant?" Lol! DH started cracking up at me and calmly said we would worry about those things nearer the time! Teehee! Grin Grin

My weight has been going up and down like a whores drawers! Have been up to 8lbs heavier than my pre preg weight, currently exactly where I was when I started although none of my clothes fit! No idea how it works but I'm suspecting a lot of mine has been water retention. I'm sure it will sort itself out as we go Smile

AnotherStitchInTime · 10/08/2013 14:00

Frizz you made me Grin. I periodically have the same thing about my two daughters growing, DH is worse. He dreads his girls becoming teenagers, but he can't keep them under lock and key, they have to live their lives.

My solution is just not to weigh myself at all.

I just eat healthy, snacking on fruit, limiting sweet treats and not massive portions, I remind myself I am not eating for two adults, just one adult and a tiny baby.

I think breastfeeding has helped me keep off the weight so far too.

I have been trying to fit in exercise around looking after my kids and found some links for youtube pregnancy yoga vids which are quite good and easy to do at home. They are only 10 mins long so you can split it up according to how much time you have each day.

I also do Qi Gong which is a bit like Tai Chi only simpler and very good for pregnancy as it is a gentle exercise that helps you focus on your breathing. You would need to speak to the teacher before starting and your GP to make sure any class is suitable for you.

I also found out about some classes called Maternally Fit which look good if you are London based. I am going to try an introductory class and see how I go.

What do you ladies think of the name Jesse for a boy? Its DHs favourite and I like it too, but am getting cold feet - wondering if it sounds a bit girlie? Its big in America, but not sure about over here....?

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 10/08/2013 19:29

I like Jesse. It's getting more popular over here. I don't think of it as girly -- more one of those names like 'Alex' or 'Sam', which is used for both without it being weird.

Pretty sure I just saw the baby move from the outside. It's weird.

Sultanajo · 10/08/2013 19:31

Thanks Toby - my second choice is Alex, so weird u would mention that one...!

Omg thats so cool! Whereabouts was the movement? Grin

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 10/08/2013 19:51

I love Alex too :)

The movement was on the right hand side as I look down, a couple of inches below belly button, I suppose. DH was on the 'phone, but I told him anyway and he came over and put his hand there but he couldn't feel anything. It's weird, because all of my movement is on the left hand side usually. The biggest fibroid is on the right, so I'd always assumed it just had more room on the left.

Sultanajo · 10/08/2013 19:54

Maybe a little foot or arm squeezed across? That is so cool! The start of things very much to come!,Grin

Lovely Toby Grin

MrsRApilot · 11/08/2013 00:16

Jesse is a lovely name for a boy - I actually know a little boy called Jesse and he is as cute as a button. Alex is of course our fav though as bump is called Alexander.

So jealous of all you ladies feeling lots of movement. I'm getting little flutters but that is it. Can't wait until proper movement starts. DH is getting very impatient also!

MrsVDB · 11/08/2013 04:20

So it's my dh turn to be a beer monster tonight. He stinks!

I've had to more of what I thought was movement so assuming it wasn't. Looking forward to that but recorded heartbeat earlier and emailed to grandparents :)

Got my maternity spanx today, they're actually pretty good!

Gender scan on Tuesday can't wait :)

Sultanajo · 11/08/2013 08:04

Thanks mrsra. I still keep changing my mind on it....

I too want to start feeling proper movements. I havent felt much since last weekend, although the scan proved he is wriggling around in there! placenta had to be at the front didnt it! Doesnt it know I am mega impatient!!!

mrsv yay for Tuesday and how cool recording the heartbeat! Grin

MrsVDB · 11/08/2013 08:24

Morning!

There's some cute clothes on casabu today, lots of nice patterns. Just got a knitted romper with sheep on :)

Frizz1986 · 11/08/2013 08:47

So i woke up this morning and thought i felt a kick in the night, but i am not sure if this actually happened or if i dreamt it! It is very frustrating lol. Am going to assume it was in a dream so i don't excite myself for nothing. Dh is finding it rather amusing.

Today I am planning on getting back to baking after weeks if not doing anything. Am making mojito cupcakes and over cupcakes for the girls at work. Not happy about not getting to lick the bowl tho!
Hope everyone else has a good Sunday planned.

MrsVDB · 11/08/2013 08:53

Sounds yum frizz

sarahleanne · 11/08/2013 08:54

Frizz I baked cupcakes last night :) then I eat 2 of them lol.

Sorry havnt had a chance to catch up properly but I have a tmi alert...... Last night I went for a wee and when I wept it was very ummm slippery, I wiped again and a 2p sized bit of gunge was there , sorry it sounds gross but I've never ever had that with my other 2 pregnancies.
It literally looked like the plug coming away but without the red tinge. I showed dh and he described it as wall paper paste lol nice, but it was actually thicker than that. Anyone else had this and my apologies if any of u are eating your breakfast haha.

AnotherStitchInTime · 11/08/2013 12:42

sarah I have had that, your plug can replenish itself so don't worry if little bits come away.

Love the name Jesse sultana and Alex too.

Aww toby, it is so nice when you can really notice the movements. Both of my girls love having their feet stroked, I think it is because I always used to rub my tummy where their feet were.

All this talk of cake is making me jealous. I have had to resort to super noodles today as nausea has reared its head (why now?!!) and even toast didn't help.

Sultanajo · 11/08/2013 15:02

Thanks another. Think I have talked myself out of Jesse!

Went to look round mamas and papas today and came away with a half price baby towel with a cute bear on the hood and a baby record book which I fell for! Dammit! Still, was proud that was all I bought! Grin

MrsGSR · 11/08/2013 15:10

I like the name Jesse :)

Still not felt any movements here, so very jealous of those who have! It's our first wedding anniversary today, we're having lunch with my family and dinner with his so I'll be stuffed by this evening! Had really bad heartburn last night (typically after the shops had shut!) but ice cream kept it at bay long enough to fall asleep :)

Hope everyone's having a good weekend!
