The one where hopefully we are feeling less nauseous and knackered (although we develop hippo hands and feet due to the heat!), we are entering or are in our second trimester (phew!), we continue with 12 week scans and test results (ekkk!), we have 16 week midwife appointments and hear the heartbeat (OMG - aw!), we potentially see the beginnings of bumps and feel the first flutters of movement (wow!) and the 20 week scan for some is just around the corner! Grin

Oh and we try to improve our diets after surviving on one food group during the first trimester!!! Wink

Bring it on thread 7!!!

(pod hope I did you proud)!

Wow, sarah! What an arse. He really does need to pull his finger out.

enormouse · 09/08/2013 16:42

Go sarah! Smile

TobyLerone · 09/08/2013 16:49

Honestly, it's a wonder some of these ridiculous manchildren ever managed to father a child of their own.

Sultanajo · 09/08/2013 17:26

Thanks ladies! I am indeed back to feeling excited humpty!

enormouse grrrr! Any idea when you will get your results! How frustrating!

sarah you go girl! Go show him what he could lose if he carries on acting so irresponsibly! Well done for staying strong and making him understand that is beyond unacceptable!!!

toby the mind boggles. Luckily, DP is quite good, very hands on dad, great with kids (way better than I thought he'd be). Just not very good on routine, housework (aka the boring stuff) and often distracted by his man toys.

sultana I'll be ringing up the hospital on Monday. I had my 'it's-just-not-good-enough' speech all prepped and it was the good looking locum, not my usual 70ish, balding, slightly hobbit resembling gp. So I got flustered and the hormones went to my head. But hopefully it'll be sorted by next week.

Sultanajo · 09/08/2013 18:18

Lol enormouse! Damn that hot GP! Plans of kicking ass thwarted!

lovelilies · 09/08/2013 18:19

Well done sarah Grin Grin

TobyLerone · 09/08/2013 18:20

The hot locum thing happened to me at my 6 week check after having DS. And he noticed I needed a smear, so did it there and then Blush

AnotherStitchInTime · 09/08/2013 18:23

Congrats on your boy Sultana, both of my girls had huge abdomens relative to the other measurements, middle of scale for length and head measurements, but right at the end of the scale for abdominal circumference. They were 8lb and 7lb 13oz at birth which is big considering I am only 5 foot tall.

Sarah so sorry to hear your DH is being a twat. Well done for putting your foot down. Read him the bloody riot act, he is not a single guy with no responsibilities.

Frizz1986 · 09/08/2013 18:41

mac so sorry about your FIL. Hope both you and dh are coping ok.

sarah you go for it. Show him exactly whats on the line. Men can be raher useless and insensitive at times.

Thanks for all the 'discharge' advice ladies. I called the midwife today and she said that it all seems totally natural. As long as its not green, smells offensive (not sure how to tell if something smells offensive) or completely soaking through my pants then i shouldnt worry.
Always feel like a bit of a loon if i call but they are always so nice.

Congrats on the scan sultana and for maybe team blue.

My scan is 2 weeks today and i cant wait. Am wishing the time away even though the week after my scan i am going to have the most horrific 2 weeks at work (i have been dreading them for almost a year)
I have a strong feeling we will be team blue as well, but we will be leaving it as a surprise.

Sultanajo · 09/08/2013 18:49

Thanks another. Thats reassuring!

Toby there was a hot student doctor there when I went to the STI clinic once. I had to tell him if I had anal sex, he then looked in my bits and I then had to bend over to pick my pants up off the floor in front of him, naked from the waste down! Blush

frizz glad you got reassurance from your mw....and even more glad they are always lovely when u call.

:o :o sultana! That beats my story hands down!

My sister had a hot male midwife when she was giving birth to my nephew. Every time he went out of the room she was cringing about him having to get a person out of her fanny :o

enormouse · 09/08/2013 19:55

These stories are hilarious! Grin
Beats the paediatrician who gave toddlermouse his tb jab. He looked like Damian Lewis. I was surprised by how many neonatal doctors were hot, young and male. I wasn't expecting it post birth, where frankly I didn't look great.

Sultanajo · 09/08/2013 20:18

Oh man! Didnt even think of that enormouse! Had a male sonographer today which I wasnt looking forward to - he wasnt hot, but actually had a wicked sense of humour and had us in absolute stitches! Just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover! Blush

Sultan - all my babies have been little fatties. Ds1 I had gest diabetes as emerg cs at 38 weeks. I went in to labour but stuck at 5cm so hence cs. He had funny blood sugars at first and had to be monitored but stayed with me. He was fine tho. 8lb12

Ds2 I had abnormal blood sugars but not GD tho and he was vbac 39w4d 8lb14 and home the next morning.

Dd again i had abnormal bloods she was 9lb3 and home within 2 hours.

Hope that reassures you xxxx

TobyLerone · 09/08/2013 20:59

My friend is a paediatrician. We call him 'Hot Dr Sean'.

TarkaTheOtter · 09/08/2013 21:17

Hi sultana, just wanted to say its unusual for gd to occur so early (normally it starts about 24-28 weeks) so every chance you don't have it. If you do and you want to talk about it let me know. I had it last time and this time. It's really not that bad. All the risks are associated with undiagnosed gd so once it is controlled and treated the risks are no higher. Had a really positive induction at 38 weeks experience too.

Sultanajo · 09/08/2013 21:21

toby hot Dr Sean! Grin Grin Grin Grin

bunt and tarka thanks so much. That is massively reassuring! Going to go to bed happy thinking of my little boy bubs! Grin

Frizz1986 · 10/08/2013 08:29

Wow love thats great. Smile
I dont think i feel anything anymore Sad Maybe i wasnt feeling it in the first place. Am only 18+1 so dont think its anything to worry about.

Has anyone else lost weight this tri?
I gained about 12 lbs up to week 16-17 ish and in the past week i have dropped 2 lbs. i was pretty skinny before so i dont think i should be losing anything. I know i ate pretty badly last week (meals out etc) and have been eating better this week (still more than I did before pg) but surely if baby is growing i should be putting on 1lb a week at this stage, not losing it. Am really worried. I guess any changes make me really worried and prob for nothing.

TobyLerone · 10/08/2013 08:35

That's lovely, lilies :)

Frizz, the baby doesn't grow by 1lb per week, so not necessarily. You poor thing, with all this worry. Have you ordered your doppler?

Frizz1986 · 10/08/2013 08:48

toby i think its one of the others getting a doppler (cant remember who though) I couldnt get one as i would become addicted to using it!!
