I'm lying in bed whilst DC are playing on the floor and occasionally mentioning the possibility of breakfast. I love the summer holidays!*

*remind me I said this in another 2/3 weeks...

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 08:14

Teddy - you can eat all the blue and soft cheeses if they're cooked, as cooking removes the bacteria - we have a little deli in our village that stocks all the nice soft cheeses but made with pasteurized milk - I spent a fortune there when I was pg with DD.

I have to walk past a yo-sushi on my way home every day, I just know I'm going to cave :-)

I've never been a fan of runny egg yolks, sp thankfully that doesn't bother me.

But what I have been really excited to find out is that they've changed the guidelines on peanuts - so I can eat peanut butter on toast

Rockchick1984 · 01/08/2013 08:16

MTB peanut butter and chocolate spread - snickers toastie!!!!

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 08:27

Rockchick - I think I may love you a little bit

rosyryan · 01/08/2013 08:30

Rock you are BAD! I need that in my face now.

Ah, The joy of waking up and being able to get out of bed. I spent until two o clock yesterday feeling like I was going to die. I got hungrier and sicker and hungrier and sicker and couldn't eat a morsel. I was in a right state. Feeling on top of the world today, comparatively.

Welcome Surprised! 6 years trying? That is one well deserved surprise!!

MTB is that Greys? If it is I would be so happy!

Oh my god I think I'm going to crack. My children do not ever stop talking. I just want to tell them to shut up. Ds had a nosebleed about midnight then kept getting me up over the next few hours saying he couldn't sleep. I'm exhausted and crabby and I have to move my arse and go and do some housework and get ready as I think my grandma is coming over and she will definitely do the catsbum face if we are still in pjs.

JK10 · 01/08/2013 08:44

soured u poor thing, hate nights like that, ESP when today is likely to be a mess because of it. I'm really hating the whole insomnia and exhaustion during this pregnancy. Being unfairly short tempered with kids and could fall asleep everytime I sit down! Hating being like this on the kids hols.

I agree newborn stage is the easiest! Only the night time feeding that u need to get used to! Otherwise they don't do much! Sleep, feed, cry, change nappy. But the bulk of the time they sleep and they stay where u put them! Which is very handy!!!

so suprised fab news! I found out at 11 weeks with dd2! It's great! Would be lovely if everyone was 12 weeks when they found out to skip the worrying 1st trimester!

Looks like its gonna be a hot one today! Have a good day everyone.

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 08:47

MummyPig Yes Greys just tell them you're pregnant and they do loads of lovely blue cheeses - but be careful, the first time I found out I spent £80 and ate it all over one weekend Blush

What I have discovered which is lush - is a decaff latte with Hazelnut and caramel syrup = ferrero roche coffee (makes decaff that little bit more bearable

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 08:49

MummyPig just tell her - you're having a backwards day, so they slept in clothes and are now wearing their PJ's they'll have tea for breakfast and cereal for dinner?

MummyPig24 · 01/08/2013 08:52

Haha that's a good idea. We all had Nutella on toast for breakfast. I was going to be a domestic goddess and make pancakes but I didn't have enough plain flour. Thanks for the tip about greys!

JBrd · 01/08/2013 08:58

Guidelines about peanuts? I think I missed that - I can't remember there ever being any! I've always eaten peanuts, peanut butter, any nut really, all through pregnancy.
I remember vaguely people mentioning something about the (very unproven) theory that eating peanuts when pg could potentially possibly very unlikely cause peanut allergies, is that it?

Got my booking appointment today, wooohooo!

lumpylumps · 01/08/2013 09:01

I'm getting boobs!!!!! I'm usually so small that you could think I was a man but they're growing. Woohoo!!! The only time in my life I ever have cleavage is when I'm pregnant!!

sosuprised that's great news. I've told everyone. I always do. I can't keep secrets for toffee! The way I see it they'd all find out if anything went wrong and its the support I need. The only people who don't know are children, mine and others. Only because they wouldn't understand

On the down side, I'm already sick of the "trying for a girl this time" comments. No I'm not actually. I just want a healthy happy baby and in fact, a girl might make things a bit awkward. There are already too many toys in this house and what about keeping them all entertained when they're older???

PiratesMam · 01/08/2013 09:18

Peanuts: when I was preg with DC1 they were doing a trial of telling pregnant women to avoid peanuts to see if it made a difference to nut allergy rates. It didn't. When I was preg with DC2 a year and a bit later no one said anything about peanuts!

It must be really annoying when people assume you want a certain gender. We have one of each so far and people sometimes say "oh how clever" which I find really stupid as its a 50/50 chance so we just slavishly followed the odds. Surely cleverer would be a matching pair!

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 09:20

JBrd the advice when I had DD was that if you had asthma in your family, there was a high risk of your baby developing a nut allergy if you ate nuts - it changed twice while I was pg with her - and now it's all been dis-proven

Blockette · 01/08/2013 09:27

Morning! I go away for a few days and the thread is nearly full again!

I'm fed up of being sick now :( 3 times already and it's only 9.30!

Is anyone else struggling to eat as well? I take about 3 bites of anything and I just can't eat any more - DH is getting worried I think as he keeps stressing over it.

Hope everything is going well for everyone, will have a look back over and see what I've missed.

LyraSilvertongue · 01/08/2013 09:28

I have two boys and will be very happy to have another. Or a girl would be great too. As long as its one or the other Wink

IceNoSlice · 01/08/2013 09:35

When I was pg with DS I was eating a snickers at work and had someone come over and say 'didn't you know that you're not supposed to eat peanuts when you're pregnant?' And then he went to take it off me!!!

Let's just say it's not a good idea to get between a pregnant woman and her chocolate. He didn't make that mistake again.

Rockchick1984 · 01/08/2013 09:37

Lyra I asked DS (2.5) the other day if I should have a baby boy or a baby girl - he said baby giraffe!!!

Coolhand · 01/08/2013 09:44

Morning all!

Newborn stage was definitely the hardest for us but baby had reflux and screamed for 12 weeks with only brief pauses for feeding/sleeping - remember friends visiting who had 2 young children saying, 'We feel so sorry for you' as they left! It got so much easier when he moved to solid foods and then became a dream in comparison when he began to crawl and walk. Up until that point he was SO frustrated. This time counting on a more easy going one!

That said, I can't shake the feeling that I don't feel pregnant enough for 9 and a half weeks. My scan is in 2 weeks and I'm going to wait it out but until I see that h/b, I will not be able to shift this nagging doubt.

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 10:02

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on PSVT and pregnancy - I was told that it was likely that my last PG was what kicked it off and I would need to be closely monitored if I fell pg again - I've recently started noticing my heart rate frequently jumps to 120 bpm even if I'm just sitting at my desk.

I'll raise it with my GP on Wednesday, but just wondered if anyone had any experience

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 10:12

RockChick - You're lucky - I asked DD, and she wants a yellow and pink one with purple spots! and yes she means sibling... weird kid

LyraSilvertongue · 01/08/2013 10:24

MTB, what is PSVT?

Coolhand, I'm also 9.5 weeks or thereabouts and I still can't get my head round the fact that there's actually a baby in there. I feel like I've ordered him from amazon, had the email confirmation and he's out there in some depot waiting to be delivered in a brown box sometime in March Grin

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 01/08/2013 10:25

Midwife is En route....she just called to say she's lost...this could be fun...

MTBMummy · 01/08/2013 10:50

Lyra it's a heart condition which can cause you to have a very high heart rate, and occasionally pass out. Apparently its more common in woman and tend to kick off during times of physical stress
