Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

floatyflo I'm not going to slap you. Here have some dairy milk with popping candy! All those questions been in my head torturing me too. And some!Even started stressing tonight at dh being 47 years old.... How old is your dc(s) ? And...is there ever a right time anyway ? There basically isn't honey. Always a financial issue/home project/Holiday/work thing that can't be factored in. I do think that it's going to be tough with two at first but it's never ever going to be the huge adjustment you made of having one. I do think this bit is torture cos ur meant to keep schtum. I've already told two v v v close friends one of whom has two and loves it. It is good to have someone who gets you to reassure you. what did your mum say ? xxx

apprenticemamma · 29/06/2013 23:07

ps floatyflo mums do have the power to make you regress in a split second. ..that 'll b us one day... But you are a v capable mamma I am sure. p.p.s. also if u r fearing managing 2 or 3 kids anyone go hAve a nosey at the large family forums and read stories about those pregnant with twins for the second time who also have other kids!!!!! I am full admiration for them but it helped me realise ..surely we can manage two..Smile ( notice my assumption that I am not carrying twin bean...Shock )

I really feel for everyone struggling with sickness. I was so ill with DS, I could barely get out of bed most days. So far I've had some nausea and massive hunger, I just keep eating in the hope I won't throw up! In reality though I know if I'm going to be sick then I will be, regardless of how much I've eaten. Hopefully it will pass soon.

I'm really worrying already about how DS will cope with having a sibling.

This is dragging already!

snapple I am due to start an access course at my local college in September. I will still do so but if im due in March I won't be able to see the course through to the end. This was one of the questions my Mum asked. I'm sure the college with have something in place for when this happens. It is an adult education course after all! :) Nothing says you can't still learn after having a baby.

Thanks apprentice. I love that chocolate. The jelly bits are the best.

You are so right about there never being a right time. But it is the right time for me and my family. Ds will be 3.5 by the time this bean arrives. I want him to have a sibling so much. I want for him to have someone to grow up alongside and share childhood memories with. Of course I know they will fight and squabble like cat and dog, as all bros and sis's do. And it will be a major disruption for ds when a new baby comes along, but we are prepared and aware of the stress and strain that comes with it. These are the sorts of things my Mum was going on about. Really planting seeds of doubt. I know its only because she cares and she wants to make sure im happy, but we constantly seek parents.approval deep down and to feel.like I may not have it, shadows over everything I have done.

Sorry, I am totally rambling. I am feeling so over-sensitive at the moment. All these hormones, hope they settle soon, I am quite an emotional person as it is Grin

floatyflo · 30/06/2013 09:47

Oh and I will most def have a nose at the other threads apprentice. Thank you.

and my goodness twins! I will absolutely be panicking then. And that will not be down to mind meddling hormones, that will be real fear hahaha!

Hi Hamwidge

Yep we are worrying about how dc's will be with a new baby too! Obviously normal to feel that way isn't it, seeing as we are all having some feelings at the mo. :)

Souredstones · 30/06/2013 10:32

Hi

Name: souredstones
Dc: junior school age
Approx due date: 8th March

Souredstones · 30/06/2013 10:53

Has anyone else been totally hit with fatigue? I'm exhausted already! I don't remember this hitting so early last time!

floatyflo · 30/06/2013 11:47

I hear you souredstones, I am so tired at the moment. I had it with ds for like the whole first trimester.

Make the most of it and use it as an excuse to put your feet up with lots of cuppas! Grin

apprenticemamma · 30/06/2013 14:40

floatyflo sounds like your mum is verbalising some of your understandable fears. I am sure the college course will make provision too. I am feeling so positive today but when I found out bfp my mood and thoughts crashed from high to low v panic stricken and thinking of similar fears. Maybe it's just how your mum is processing it. It's exciting news though and at this stage you want others to express that too, maybe the next time u talk that will b the case. I also wonder if people respond different to pg 2 or pg 3 news? Anyway, you 're going to have another beautiful baby and he or she will fit into your unit and life as you said. Yay! x

apprenticemamma · 30/06/2013 14:43

ps I am exhausted too ladies been lying in my loveseat (giant swivel chair) for 2 hours whilst ds naps ;) despite a zillion things to do before last week of work before holiday (France without wine brie or mussels 3 key reasons to choose it as a destination. Have decided to grant myself the odd v v watered down Spritzer occasionally)

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 30/06/2013 17:04

Hello all, mind if I tentatively mark my place in here? I got my BFP on Friday and am currently 4+5, due 4th March Grin

I'm 32 and this is our first. It's taken us 3 years of TTC and god knows how many Dr's appointments, fertility consultations, an operation and finally we hit the jackpot on our third cycle of Ovulation Induction.

I shall probably lurk for a while until the news has sunk in, though I'm going to make my booking in appointment tomorrow in the hope they might let me have an early reassurance scan.

snapple21 · 30/06/2013 19:09

I am a bit crampy today hope its nothing sinister!

floatyflo · 30/06/2013 21:26

apprentice You do talk sense :) thank you.

frankelly Hi there!

and congrats on your bfp.

Snapple I would try not worry. I believe cramping and stretchy pains are quite normal at this early stage. I had cramps two days ago throughtout the day and all us fine here :)

apprenticemamma · 30/06/2013 23:14

Snapple me too... hope it eases soon. .x

Volleyfeet · 01/07/2013 08:46

Hello can I join? Just got my BFP this weekend. First baby, got married a month ago. Doesn't feel real at the moment and keep wanting to re-test to make sure it's still positive! No real symptoms yet. How is everyone else feeling? According to the online date planner, would be due on 10th march.

Souredstones · 01/07/2013 11:27

Welcome and congratulations! I am going to retest with a digital in a few days just to confirm things (even though I'm symptomatic already!)

Its been so long since I last did this I have no idea when I book with the midwife or what!

Rockchick1984 · 01/07/2013 11:57

Hello and congrats to all the newbies!

Sour I think generally booking appt is between 8-10 weeks so no massive hurry to refer unless you will need anything like an early scan.

Snapple I've also been crampy, had it in both my previous pregnancies and apparently its just stretching ligaments and all normal :)

Sprue · 01/07/2013 12:11

Hello!

Slightly late to this thread but only did a test at the end of last week. Think I'll be due around 2nd or 3rd March. It'll be my first and have already self-referred in order to get it clarified.

So the funny tummy cramps are normal? Already more tired than usual, headaches, feeling cold. The worst is the sore boobs. Trying to avoid travelling by train in rush hour, it's so bad. If someone bumps me... Well this is amusing DH greatly. But overall is a feeling of absolute excitement. I know it's early days but I can't help it. Does this ever wear off? Smile

FitzgeraldProtagonist · 01/07/2013 12:20

BFP on Digi today 1-2 at 13DPO. AF due thurs.

BFP Two days later than my previous pregnancies. Am very scared due to previous losses (exP). Made appointment to get referred to check position at 7 weeks as I only have one F/tube left.

Had a big night out on 22nd and am worried about that, too.

Here's hoping. Fingers crossed for all. And CONGRATULATIONS!

How are you telling DP? I have begged mine to meet me for lunch and he is like "am a bit busy will let you know" SIL has gone to chivvy him up. DP is in 40s and had thought he was infertile. He is going to cry/faint. I am so happy for him, and us all!

April13 · 01/07/2013 12:55

Hi All,
Been a bit aprhensive about joining....nerves and all that! I got my BFP last Monday (and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Saturday lol). Its my first preganancy, DH and I only got married in April and have managed to concevie faster than I thought we would :) Due ~ 5th March. Delighted and terrified all at once! DH is obvisously thrilled knowing "his boys can do the business" lol. I am feeling very tired already, have waves of nausea (not helped by the fact I work in a lab and cant keep mints and water to hand!), mild cramping, hngry all the time although I have had this symptom for most of my adult life and sore arms (is this related)?
Looking forward to the next 8 months!

snapple21 · 01/07/2013 16:08

Congrats to all the new bfp's!!

Thanks for the reassurance on the cramps. Just can't remember what it was like from first time around! They've eased a lot today. Feeling very sickly and done another clear blue digi today and it says 3+ now yay! X

Puddlet · 01/07/2013 18:57

Just popping in to say hello - +ve test on Saturday after I found myself yelling at poor dh for no apparent reason (irrational rage and early pregnancy just go together!). If all goes well this will be dc3 due on 12th March. Very early days but please esp as I am 39 so was keen to squeeze in just one more before it's too late.

apprenticemamma · 01/07/2013 20:30

congrats allGrin april13 our 2nd little muffin should also be due 5th march. Totally excited, more excited than ds1 I will admit bc dh and I are in a better place. Father in law was dying whilst I was pregnant with ds1 and died 5 weeks short of meeting his grandson Sad... horrible but muffin no. 1 then brought utter joy to dh and helped us thru Smile . Also think I'm a bit more clued up but we will see...

apprenticemamma · 01/07/2013 20:32

oh and congrats Snapple on your latest bfp!
