March 2014?

Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Oh dear, my jeans are already feeling a bit tight...

Souredstones · 03/07/2013 16:10

Told my line manager. She leapt up and gave me a massive hug and squealed. Think she's ok with it!

Now to keep her quiet for 7 weeks!!

FitzgeraldProtagonist · 03/07/2013 16:11

Hi new ones! Did another FRER this morning, was much darker than yesterdays. Am hoping if this was ectopic again I wouldn't have any results, much less a strong one, so maybe a good sign.

Work: Am working three jobs one of which is self employed one of which is employed temporary one of which is employed as a contractor. Don't think I can get maternity from any of them, both have been a bit vacant on contracts. No one is going to see me though, because I'll be working outside office or from home, so can hide it for a long time.

Told er, lots of people. My best friends (x5), one of whom is DP's SIL and thus the baby's auntie. Mentioned it to my mother but told her not to be excited as may not work out. The two girls at work (who both knew of ttc struggles) and who waited with me whilst I did test. Basically the people who would need to know if I had another Ectoptic/MC.

DP has told his brother and mother and best friend. For much the same reason. We would need the support if it didn't work out.

Scan to check position on 19th Jul. Think DP will be away then, but my friend/his sil. Am in a new area and have heard my local hospital doesn't 'do' NT scan/triple test. What?! Can this be right? Could do without paying for private test.

Don't know what booking procedure is, will ask at EPU.

When DP comes back at end of July we are urgently house hunting, we have been meaning to get round to it and various factors have held us up. Fingers crossed.

Hello all - just discovered this week pregnant with our first. According to the calc on here that makes due date about march 9. Pretty nervous and elated at the same time. Main symptoms a few back pain twinges and the odd period-like cramp but hoping nothing serious. All makes it more nerve-wracking! Had no idea doctor might not want to see me yet so I'm off there tomorrow morning!

Beccadugs · 03/07/2013 19:52

Congratulations Lottie!

I am so confused about the doctor thing... Everyone says they don't want to see you, but the nhs website says to book in ASAP for your first appointment...

Any advice?!

MortifiedAdams · 03/07/2013 20:00

I honestly found the doctors appt a total waste of time. He didnt ask me to do a test. Didnt take bloods. Nothing. He then forgot to refer me for a MW appt so I had to chase and chase it.

Try calling your surgery and ask to make a Booking In appointment with the MW. See what they say.

MortifiedAdams · 03/07/2013 20:16

Oh, and I caved this afternoon and told mt closest workmate. She was giddy and gave me a massive hug and asked loads of questions.I feel so so hapoy that Ive told her. I think it will also be helpful for someone at work to know incase the worst happens.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 03/07/2013 20:16

I think the NHS advice means make your booking an appointment ASAP, rather than see your GP. Some NHS trusts (like mine) no longer do the booking in appointments at the GP surgeries so you need to contact them direct. In my area the midwives are only at my local hospital one day per week so appointments fill up fast.

Beccadugs · 03/07/2013 20:21

Thanks everyone, I think they were meaning an appointment pre booking in for chats about frolic acid etc. probably unnecessary for a control freak like me!! Blush

I did speak to my GP today about some meds I'm on, and he said to call and make a MW appt so I will try that!

In case anyone's interested this is the page I was looking at:
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/antenatal-midwife-care-pregnant.aspx

Hello! Not told anyone at all yet. Think we are going to have an early scan and if that's ok then tell close family and friends after that. Did another test yesterday jut to check! Still positive! Feeling slightly more tired than usual and very occasionally nauseous but not much else! Want the next few weeks to speed past as worried about getting too excited in case something goes wrong.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 04/07/2013 09:59

I did another cheap Internet test this morning and was reassured to see the line come up nice and dark very quickly. I've still got my tests from last week (is that weird?!) and comparing them shows a much stronger line today. Phew!

Just got to wait another 3 weeks for my booking in appointment. It feels sooooo far away!

Rockchick1984 · 04/07/2013 10:09

Fran I've kept the first positive test from DS (he's 2.4), from my miscarriage, and from this pregnancy! I have got a memory box for each pregnancy with the test, scan photos etc in.

Have been feeling queasy first thing for the last few days. Had a bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes this mornin and it got rid of the nausea! Think that's going to be my staple breakfast for as long as it works :)

Beccadugs · 04/07/2013 10:15

Thank goodness it's not just me, I've kept all 5 test I've done (3ICs, clear blue and FR!!)

I think I am 4 weeks, although LMP was 5 weeks ago, I ovulated 2 weeks ago, if that makes sense. 8 weeks until I can tell people is going to be a nightmare!!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 04/07/2013 10:22

Does someone want to start putting together a stats list - I would but I'm on my phone!

This is me:

FrankellyMyDearIDon'tGiveADamn (aka Frankel) - 32 years old. Baby #1 - EDD 4th March 2014

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe · 04/07/2013 10:23

Frankelly I also have a positive test I've kept from DS (conceived July 2011). Plus pictures.

So far this time I have done five tests (all cheapies though). I have a digi with conception indicator that I will probably do this weekend. I have only told DH about two of the tests and the digi Blush

Hey, the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe · 04/07/2013 10:25

Have no idea how to do a stats list, but this is me:

Been scouring Ebay and Gumtree for maternitywear. I know it is early, but I loaned it all off a friend last time who has since moved away, so I don't have anything from when I was pg with dd. Can anyone recommend anywhere for smart workwear that wont be overly expensive? My workplace has a formal uniform (suits) but no provision for maternity wear. If and when I tell the boss, there is the possibility I can expense some maternity work wear, but no guarantee.

Also, to those that have done this before, did you bother with maternity pyjamas? Think last time round I just wore H&M MAMA leggings and a tshirt, but I do love pjs!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 04/07/2013 13:19

Have you looked at this site? I'm office based too so was planning on sticking with a couple of smart wrap dresses and hoping they'd see me through!

MortifiedAdams · 04/07/2013 13:22

Thats perfect Frankel Ive bookmarked it for reference.

Hello,

I have waited years to ttc and a couple of months ago we made the decision we werent going to have children but ... it just didnt feel right so we decided to ttc.

We conceived 1st time which really suprised me as I have been charting tta for 2years ish and I know I have irregular cycles etc.

So am a bit shocked and suprised to discover I was preggers on Tuesday. I am 4weeks+1 edd 12th March (day before my mums bday and 2 days before the anniversery of my grandfathers death 19 years ago)

We have told my Mum because we live with her and she was at the receiving end of my moodiness which started two weeks today, along with fatigue, frequent toilet visits and gurgly tummy. New this week waking up at 5.30am for no reason, backache between shoulders and infreqent stabby pains in my tummy. Am looking forward to the nausea!

We are planning to tell the family after our scan. Friends when they are asking "are you fat or...?"

I have M.E. so am very nervous about how i'm going to cope, so far the symptoms are all ones I have suffered over the years with my M.E so it has made it easier to cope, especially with the tiredness.
