I stopped taking it after 12 weeks when I no longer needed the folic acid, cos the pills are huge and make me feel a bit sick.

I have only really noticed this exhaustion for the past week and thought I'd give it a try, as no amount of napping seemed to help! I have been making sure to eat more (and better) too, as I haven't gained much weight recently, so that has probably helped a lot.

I think I'll probably get the breastfeeding ones for after the birth :)

Gonnabmummy · 02/08/2013 10:07

I've used right thru pregnancy apart from around about a ten day break when I ran out and couldn't be bothered to get any more. I felt so ill had to phone in sick one day as soo tired DP went right out for more immediately blaming that. After a few days taking it again I was fine, defiantly going to get the breast feeding ones too :)

Just quickly popping my head in to say hi - and to confirm what woofers kindly posted for me. My DS2 was born last Saturday at 1707, weighed 7lb 3 and is called Caspian Nicholas John. He arrived 3 days before my EDD. It was a VERY long labour, 3 hours latent phase (he was back to back), and established labour of around 12 hours. Basically the hyperemesis meant I had no energy reserves, plus the hideousness of my relationship issues meant that it was a lengthy process. However, other than the midwife breaking my waters on Saturday afternoon, there was no intervention. I just used gas and air for 20 minutes whilst pushing (his head was transverse - OW - as he had started rotating from back to back but didn't get the full rotation until just before crowning!), and had the water birth I really wanted, physiological third stage, delayed cord clamping etc. Very calm, even though I was exhausted, vocalised low and deep and did relaxation through all the contractions, with low lights and music on.

I haven't really been keeping on this thread - having such a crappy time with exH that I'v been sticking to my thread so as not to dampen the group mood - but will be thinking of you all. Congratulations to the other new arrivals, and good luck to all those of you still waiting. It is SO worth it Grin. Both DS1 and DD are absolutely smitten with their baby brother, as am I. Can't believe he is already 6 days old!

Gerty1002 · 02/08/2013 12:07

Fantastic news waves, I've loosely caught up on your previous threads and think you are an amazing woman. Enjoy your gorgeous little family.

Update from my presentation scan today - it seems my useless midwife had it all wrong and baby has been head down all along! All that worry for nothing! Absolutely over the moon I still have a chance at my water birth :).

Also he's currently measuring 6lb2oz (50th percentile) and is DEFINITELY a boy! DP and I are on cloud 9 :)

LouiseD29 · 02/08/2013 14:35

Congratulations waves. That's really wonderful news. And good luck Gerty. I'm hoping to have a water birth as well. 38+6.

Bakingabubba · 02/08/2013 15:37

That's great news gerty - now you can relax a bit and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy Smile.

Congratulations waves on your new arrival. Hope my labour experience is as calm as yours sounded!

PurpleDana · 02/08/2013 17:08

Congrats waves! Sounds like the actual birth was pretty perfect for u. I'd love to manage on just a bit of gas & air, my tai chi cd playing, low lighting, nice & calm, in the pool with my hubby so he can help catch her... Heaven.
And great news gerty! I can feel your relief lol
Had my whooping cough vaccine today, a little late (I'm 38wks tomorrow) cos I was ill in hospital then wanted to fully recover from that before risking being unwell with the vaccine too. I feel ok so far, just my arm is starting to feel a bit sore & achy

Gerty1002 · 02/08/2013 18:54

Thank you all :) - actually ended up at antenatal unit this pm due to headache and blurred vision! They checked urine and bp for signs of pre-eclampsia but all looked fine, so looks like it.was just a migraine! Probably from all the bloody worrying! Feeling a little better now but taking it easy for the rest of the day.

TrixieLulamoon · 03/08/2013 03:50

Gerty yay for being the right way up/down Grin.

Currently sat on a torpedo shaped ball on the antenatal ward. Have contractions every 3/4 mins but not painful. I'm only in hospital due to attempting VBA2C, normally they would have sent me home. DH snoozing in the chair told him he may as well, nothing really happening.

Gerty1002 · 03/08/2013 07:44

Ooh good luck Trixie! I hope it's not too long for you!

I'm feeling so happy now, feeling every niggle and pain is a good thing rather than panicking that I'll have to go in for EMCS :).

Christelle2207 · 03/08/2013 11:29

Best of luck Trixie, great news Gerty.
40+1!!!! And def now in the fat & fed up club.

BrieMonster · 03/08/2013 19:49

Exciting trixie!! Hope everything goes beautifully and you're all well looked after. X

beckie90 · 04/08/2013 08:38

Oh wow havnt checked on here in a while, congratulations on all the babys already :) and waves big congrats to you. Lovely name.
And goodluck to everyone else.

My son arrived last Sunday 28/7 and weighed in at 6ib 13 he was born at 38+1 after a slow slow labour with regular painful contractions since Friday morning didn't reach 4cm till Sunday morning at around 7.30. they broke my waters at 12.30pm at 5-6cm and he was born 1.56pm :) no pain relief til the last 15mins to which I had gas and air. Was an absolutely amazing expirience and so dif to the births of my first 2 boys. He's had some troubles with jaundice and weight loss and we spent till Wednesday in hospital with him on I.v antibiotics, he's now 6ib 4oz and an absolute angel.

Not long to go now everyone :) xx

Gerty1002 · 04/08/2013 09:14

Congratulations beckie :).

Been having backacke/period cramps all through the night, not regular or very painful but uncomfortable enough to wake me up a couple of times.

Only 36+2, is this sort of activity likely to carry on for another five weeks? Just keep telling myself every niggle is doing something positive :). Just five days until 'term' then it will be birthing ball ahoy!

Christelle2207 · 04/08/2013 12:10

Well done Beckie, despite the long time sounds like a positive story? Big congrats.
Well over the last few days (40+2 now) I think I've had cramps pretty much everywhere, all over the bump, legs, shoulders (wtf?), back, down in the depths of my pelvis, everywhere. One minute I think ooh something's happening here then for the next few hours I feel completely normal like nothing's ever going to happen. Am encouraged though that a friend who I saw on Thursday afternoon and looked and felt completely normal went into labour overnight and had a healthy baby earlier today. So it does happen - eventually! Am eating copious amounts of curry and pineapple but now convinced it has no effect. DTD is off the cards I think (likely to hurt too much) and I can't walk very far due to pgp but am going to attempt a swim later.

SendMum · 04/08/2013 14:19

I had my baby girl this morning at 10:30 after a 3 hour labour and lovely water birth at home!! She's called Annie Grace and weighs 8lbs 10oz. We can't believe it's a girl as we have two boys already and were convinced it was another one!! She was 2 days late. Good luck to everyone still waiting. X

Christelle2207 · 04/08/2013 15:25

Congrats SendMum! lovely news x

PurpleDana · 04/08/2013 15:30

Aww congrats sendmum!
christelle if my hubby tries to feed me one more bit of spicy food I swear I'll throw it at him! Lol
gerty I have had pains, twinges, cramps since 35wks ish, now at the point where I am ignoring them, sick of taking everything as a sign things could be starting! Now at 38 +1 and pains are definitely stronger over the last week & baby is much lower, but no other signs of labour starting so I'm just trying not to think anything of it. It's making time go much slower when u are thinking 'ooh this could be it' several times a day!

Gerty1002 · 04/08/2013 21:12

PurpleDana I knew someone would be along to stop me getting too excited haha. Baby definitely dropped a little today but I think there's still a good way to go.

I hope things get going for you soon!

Gerty1002 · 04/08/2013 21:12

oh and congratulations sendmum

Gonnabmummy · 05/08/2013 07:31

Waddling well this morning, I feel like I can't close my legs!
Feeling a little annoyed with myself re weather. The red hot weather we suffered was a pain in the arse but today it's torrential rain and I can't help looking out of the window thinking I hope it's not like this when LO is born... I want some nice walk before Jack Frost arrives :/

How's everyone? X

TrixieLulamoon · 05/08/2013 09:18

Morning Ladies,

Baby Humphrey was born 6:39 yesterday morning (4th). His due date!

Went into labour having regular non painful contractions about 6:30pm on the 2nd. Was kept in hospital due to my 2 previous CS. Was contracting every 3/4 mins, not painful. Doctor came in at 11am and did a sweep. That seemed to kick things off and was contracting painfully and regularly until reaching 5cms just after midnight. Pain relief I had half dose of diamorphine and gas and air.

Took 5 hours to fully dialate, contractions were extremely painful, my little man was back to back. After an hour of pushing, the midwife decided we needed to help baby out and I had a forceps delivery.

Although long and (very) painful, I got what I wanted in the end, a natural delivery!

Congrats to Beckie and Sendmum. Good luck to those of you still waiting.

Gerty1002 · 05/08/2013 09:36

Congratulations Trixie! Ooh lots of babies coming out now :) exciting.

I was up literally all night, couldn't get comfy and the braxton hicks/period and back pain I was having all yesterday continued through the night. That coupled with the heat and pressure on my bladder made for a rather long night.

On the plus side though, I've suddenly become motivated to clean so house is sparkling and it's only 9:30am :).

PurpleDana · 05/08/2013 09:51

Really uncomfortable night. Pains, aches & cramps waking me all the way thru :-( I'm gonna be grumpy today!

Christelle2207 · 05/08/2013 10:47

Ah well done trixie! Sounds like a long haul but worth it, esp after 2 CSs there cant be many thwt have manged that?! Feeling distinctly odd here, alternately period-y and as if I have a tummy upset. Also general crampiness all over.
Trying not to read too much into it and still cleaning, despite the fact id much rather be tucked up in bed.
