Been to the midwife this morning and baby is 3/5 palpable

Good luck beckett

I'm in pain today, the pressure on my tailbone is really bad!
Even sitting on the ball hurts.

Is anyone else an emotional wreck?
I'm reading the due any day thread and every time some says "this is it, labour has started" I burst into tears!

I'm a complete hormonal wreck lilmama. Have been in such a foul mood the last couple of days and so annoyed at potentially still having 3 weeks of pregnancy left. If I wasn't pregnant, I'd be certain my period was due with all this PMT style rage.

I'd like to join the grumpy club! Poor DP keeps asking me what's wrong and if he's done anything to upset me (which he hasn't) but it just enrages me more!

Getting very impatient already and another 5 weeks until EDD!

35+1 here. Had a lovely scan this morning. Got such a good view of baby's face. I've been smiling all day :) Baby already weighs about 6lbs Shock and my section is booked for August 22nd when I'll be 39+0.

Hope you're all doing okay. I remember being really emotional last time but don't seem to have hit it this time. Or not yet! We've had some discipline issues with 2yo DS in the last couple of weeks but we appear to be coming out the other side now.

I am so looking forward to a post-pregnancy pint of cider. This hot weather is just right for it.

chocolatesolveseverything · 26/07/2013 22:35

Hello, have been lurking rather than posting for a while. Congratulations MrsD and good luck Beckett.

My due date is tomorrow (am on the August threads because it was originally 1/8/13) but as baby hasn't even started engaging yet it's unlikely anything will happen. Am pretty relaxed about that and have a to-do list of small jobs for the next few days to keep me occupied, but friends and family are starting to get nervous. Tomorrow DH is off round to a friend's for a few hours to do a recording, so friend is insisting that his wife comes round to 'babysit' me. Maybe I could sit on a water-filled woopee cushion whilst we're chatting?

LilPeasMama · 26/07/2013 23:27

Yep my DP is exactly the same Gerty
The poor thing, he doesn't know what to do for the best

Ahh jolly at least you can see light at the end of the tunnel with a date.
A nice Magners on ice awaits....

Decided to treat myself and have a Chinese tonight followed by some caburys whole nut....which made me happy until coming to bed, then I'm pacing around because I can't sit, lie in bed, in a comfortable position.
DP arranged all my pillows made me lie down then sneaked off downstairs to play Fifa Hmm

chocolate priceless photo

thekatsatonthematt · 27/07/2013 11:27

If any of you have been to antenatal classes, do you have a handout of suggested postures to encourage baby out of the back to back position?

I'm sure I got a handout last time, whem it wasn't an issue, but mw said this one felt b2b on thursday, and I guess I should do something proactive. I vaguely remember I shouldn't slouch on the sofa and try to keep my pelvis tilted forward (will be washing the floors on my hands and knees daily Grin ) and that kneeling on the floor leaning forward over the birthing ball is a good way to watch tv.

39+2 and no signs yet...

MrsLianeB · 27/07/2013 12:20

Long time lurker on this thread due 14th Aug so 37+3 today and soooo fed up now.
This pregnancy has been a long time coming due to infertility issues and recurrent mc so I have been paranoid for so long that something will go wrong etc so don't really feel I am allowed to moan but....
I now can't walk properly and feel like I have a watermelon between my vjj, need to run to the toilet all the time, have sore hips, have been re-experiencing morning sickness over the last week or so, have cankles and get so much pain when the baby moves it makes me have belly ache!
I just want this baby out of me now I have been trying to walk lots and bounce on my ball but nothing is happening. I know the end is in sight 18 days till d day god help me if I go overdue.
We are all prepared apart from me wanting to clean the house all the time but with the pain in my hips and vjj I can't even hoover for longer than 5 seconds!!!
Am I the only one now?

PurpleDana · 27/07/2013 13:59

Ha ha lilpea that sounds like my hubby - asks if I'm ok or need anything then disappears off fishing or to play play station! Lol
MrsLiane you are not the only one I assure u. Like u my pregnancy is so precious due to past fertility issues & so much upset, so I too feel guilty even thinking about moaning. I have sore hips, achy thighs & groin, shooting pains down my vagina every time baby moves and still terrible acid indigestion. So uncomfortable, but yes, still so lucky to be pregnant :-) And, if its any consolation, anyone at 37wks plus (I'm 37 today) we are officially full-term! Strangely Hmm

Woofers · 27/07/2013 15:27

Mrs L I'm with you!! So far my pregnancy has been hyperemesis pelvic girdle pain requiring crutches, symphas pubic disfunction requiring scarfs round hips, Oedema in hands and feet resulting in having to go barefoot and carpel tunnel in both hands. I am not doing this again.
However, this journey was to have a baby, and have a baby we will. I'm not sure about you, but I am sooooooooo looking forwards to labour.

Someone mentions positions for swivelling babies - have a look on spinning babies

Nct also have good info on encouraging labour. Lunges with a ball is meant to help the cervix. Kneel on one knee lunge to the side of the ball with the other knee and lean over the ball. No ball? Use a dining room chair instead.

Briarrosy · 27/07/2013 23:34

TheKat, mine was B2B but I keep managing to swivel it round by bouncing on the ball, spending lots of time on all fours (I tend to read the paper on all fours, and do sewing projects etc on the floor) and sleeping on my left. Also it had a good swivel in the right direction today when I went for a swim. It does have a habit of swivelling back sometimes though, cheeky wee sod.

Woofers · 28/07/2013 07:24

Just to let you all know, waves has had her baby boy - there is a congratulations post in relationships.......where her journey began.

SendMum · 28/07/2013 21:10

Hi ladies, this board has gone so quiet recently, maybe everyone is in labour except me!! I'm due on Friday but showing little sign of movement yet. My first two boys were 2 weeks and 11 days late, so not really expecting anything to happen yet and I'm not a great believer in trying to bring labour on yourself. Nothing works in my experience until the baby is well and truly cooked!! Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying the cooler weather xx

MrsPennyapple · 28/07/2013 22:30

Sendmum I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not in labour either, more's the pity.

Due a week tomorrow. DD came 5 days early though, and I won't object
if this one wants to come early too.

I'm not sure if baby is B2B, I suspect it might be. Going to check out Spinning Babies and see if I can figure it out. I am pretty uncomfortable. Last night I felt baby turn over, and everything was suddenly so much more comfortable, but it went back about ten minutes later!

Gerty1002 · 29/07/2013 04:32

I'm not in labour either but not due until 30th Aug - so that's fine by me, gives this baby time to shift to the correct position! He was transverse but he's been doing a lot of moving (hence the early wake up) this morning but now I think he may be breech!

Been feeling really anxious about it, this is my first pg and I really would like a VBAC, but it just might not be possible now.

35+3 and a little fed up!

Bakingabubba · 29/07/2013 06:54

Not in labour here either sadly. Just over 2 weeks til EDD and sympathise with the early wake up call Gerty though not sure exactly what woke me up and kept me up from 4.30am. Practice for when baby arrives maybe?! Sorry to hear the little tinker is still somersaulting away - it can't be long until your scan now? My baby keeps shifting side to side but no idea if its back to back or not even after looking at spinning babies! Would quite like it to just shift down and out now to be honest!!

37+6

MrsLianeB · 29/07/2013 08:17

Definitely not in labour here! Mores the pity 37+5 been awake since 4.30 myself had a blissful 3 hours before the hips and pelvis kicked off baby is well and truly head down and believe it to be the right way round. Woke up with a bruise on my belly where the foot is - can you bruise on the outside from the inside?
Decided to decorate the dining room last night as you do it will only take 2/3 days but hoping the hard work will kick start labour.
Also had some sad news that OH grandmother is really poorly she has been suffering from dementia for a few years so really desperate for baby to arrive in case the worst happens.

blondecat · 29/07/2013 08:33

Thomas Christian Louis was born at Saturday night via an emergency section

We are well even if it was quite literally a blood bath

Here is a tip

Placental abruption can happen even if you have no preeclampsia , don't take coke etc

So if you get menstrual like cramps that get closer together and don't go away, even if the pain is manageable enough to engage in nesting go into the hospital. Get checked. Don't tell yourself it's just Braxton hicks and they will send me back.

And if your waters break and are bloody try not to panic like I did. It is amnio fluid and blood so hopefully the baby is still ok

Christelle2207 · 29/07/2013 09:19

Congrats blondecat, so sorry to hear that you had a panicky time of things and thanks for sharing the tip. Are you able to go home soon?

Mine is due on Friday, really not got a clue when to expect him though, just hoping as are most that he comes naturally and I don't end up having to be induced.

PurpleDana · 29/07/2013 09:20

Sounds traumatic blondecat but at least u both doing ok now, so congrats!
Sorry to hear about OH grandmother MrsLiane, not a nice time. My grandad had been ill for months, but so had I so I couldn't go see him, sadly he died on 17th and it's his funeral today. We only gonna go to church service cos it's quite a way from us & Hospital. Just in case!
37+2

Thyeternalsummer · 29/07/2013 10:27

Congrats blondecat Thanks

Mine is 'due' Saturday. Although am now at the stage of refusing to believe he's going to come naturally at all. Am forseeing begging for a CS in September after have the worlds longest gestation!

Just had to phone the HV to decline the pre birth visit they booked for me on Wed - it's my 30th..going to be bad enough spending the day still pregnant without having to endure a HV visit too. They asked me for the baby's name and DOB. Several times during the conversation Shock I would LOVE to know the DOB!!

Gonnabmummy · 29/07/2013 11:06

No labour here either! Not due til the 28th everything seems really close but really far away. Also starting to think I will be preg forever.
Coping really well thank god totally comfortable just feel like normal me so I feel like he could stay there another year.
:)
Congrats blondecat Flowers

Christelle2207 · 29/07/2013 13:51

This pregnancy too seems never ending. That said I was reading something yesterday that said that in fact, no pregnancy has ever been never-ending, remember inductions are a relatively recent thing and in lots of places I guess you don't really have them. The longest definite gestation ever recorded has apparently been 44 weeks but that would have been from lmp so they can't be sure. Obviously we'll all be hoping for babies well before that!
39+3.

Gerty1002 · 29/07/2013 14:08

Congratulations blondecat, sorry to hear you had a tough time of it.

bakingabubba Scan isn't until Friday, feels like a million years away at the moment, can't stop worrying.

It's not reassuring that I can't even get hold of a midwife today - I only want to ask to have my iron levels checked as that hasn't been done since early on and I've been feeling constantly exhausted. Half an hour's worth of housework just took me an hour and a half and now I feel like I need a nap! Ofc it could just be good old fashioned third trimester tiredness but I'd like to know if there's another, easily rectified reason behind it.

TrixieLulamoon · 29/07/2013 17:33

Congrats blondecat and MrsD and Waves (If she's still reading).

39 +1 here and definitely not in labour either Sad.

I am fine during the day coping ok, especially now the weather has cooled down a bit. Though I am struggling at night. The waking up at least 6/7 times to go to the toilet is getting really old!

DD1 was late, DD2 born on her due date (contrary little madam she is) so no inkling of whether I'm likely to go over. Though I have a MW appt next week for a sweep, then to the consultant 2 days later to beg for my waters broken before i resign to the ELCS. (they won't use hormone to induce me due to 2 previous CS).

Though having said that, at my mw appt last week baby was 3/5 down with 2/5 palpable so hopefully not too long to go!
