Gonnabmummy · 25/06/2013 23:48

ijustwore got some ranitidine today so hope it helps gavisicon weren't taking the edge off and I was starting to be sick with it.

Been for w/c jab today arms starting to stiffen now :/

Midwife in the morning will see if he's measuring big still if so maybe off for a scan to make sure.

ItCameFromOuterSpace · 26/06/2013 08:06

Have my 31 week MW appointment today (am 32+3 today)...we're almost there ladies.

Anyone feel totally unprepared??

Still need to:

Finish packing mine and baby's hospital bags
Buy an ergo
Buy a double rain cover for the pram
Buy a sleep bag cosi toes for the double buggy (this can wait to be fair)
A chest of drawers for the baby and toddler
Toy box for the living room - full of toys all over the place!
Wash all of dd's old newborn clothes

Plus am working up until 37 weeks so feel like I have no time to get anything done!

wavesandsmiles · 26/06/2013 09:51

Ranitidine is great - I have been on it for quite a while as the HG has made me suffer quite badly with acid. Hope it has a good effect.

Enjoy your upcoming appointments - I am nervous as it is my 36 week appointment on Monday. Gulp. Really, really nearly there.....

I have mostly packed my bags, just snacks, drinks and a camera to put in.

I haven't bothered with furniture as such for the baby - I have a really long hanging rail, so got some of the canvas hanging shelves and have put the baby clothes and the nappies in those. I still have more bits of washing to do, but the nappies are all done now.

Hope you are doing ok Stiggley

35 + 1

Gonnabmummy · 26/06/2013 10:00

Got my 31 week appointment in an hour.

Not to unprepared here or I hope I'm not because I'm forgetting something lol only need to pack our bags and we're ready to rock and roll. Prams not here yet but DM has bought us a travel system after shiny divorce settlement from DF so she will be fetching that nearer the time.

Not a clue how I'm going to cope with the birth had w/c jab yesterday and I feel like my arms going to shrivel up and drop off! It's soooo sore, turned over in bed last night and it woke me up
Lovely day here today hope everyone has a good week

Stiggley · 26/06/2013 10:44

Well we are still here! Made it to 34 weeks. Next aim is 35.

Got really bad leg cramps but can't have a bath. Feeling absolutely exhausted.

Dh is getting better as came home immediately yesterday as I told him I wasn't feeling great. Luckily it was false alarm. Got to have a blood test on friday for gd, which means bean might have to come out. Fingers crossed it can stay a bit more.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

In terms of getting ready. We are quite organised but should get done prem baby clothing and nappies but will wait till bean arrives as not sure on size etc.

Off to sleep again!

Gonnabmummy · 26/06/2013 12:54

Just back from midwife one positive his measuring just above the top line now so doesn't look like he'll be huge.

However wondering if anyone could help... Arrived for app ten mins early nice and chilled no rushing. And my blood pressure is up midwife did mention this but said it could be because you've rushed here etc which I hadn't. She didn't say how much concern it was but now I'm nervous. I have no idea how bp works looking in notes previous bp was 112/60 and time before it was 115/55. This time it was 135/60 is this bad?
Also haven't felt baby move today did tell midwife and she did spend longer listening to heartbeat and palpating heartbeat fine but she's told me to keep monitoring for rest of day if nothing by tea time lie down on left for two hours, if still concerned call hosp! So now I'm panicking seem baby has shifted from transverse to head down but not engaged also.

Now for a day of unrest :(

FoofFighter · 26/06/2013 13:34

Stiggley, get DH to go to the health food shop or Boots and buy you some magnesium tablets, they really help with cramps and restless legs.

My friends threw me a surprise baby shower this morning Grin

MrsPennyapple · 26/06/2013 22:11

What a nice surprise Foof!

I saw mw today, didn't have a sample bottle at home so thought I'd get there early, grab a bottle, and "prepare" one there. Out of habit I went to the loo before I left the house, so could only manage a tiny dribble, and most of that went over my hand. Lovely.

Normal mw on holiday so saw a different one, told her about the breech / head down debate (28 weeks she said breech, 32 weeks she said had turned to head down, but I haven't felt baby turn and could still feel the lumps and bumps in same places). This mw said she was 80% sure baby is head down, was very reassuring, and said if there is any doubt at 36 weeks they'll do another scan to be sure.

Glad baby's staying put for now Stiggley, hope it stays that way for a bit longer.

34+2 (thought I was 33 weeks this week but checked my diary - argh! One week less to go than I thought - better finish packing my bag, and pack DD's overnight bag!)

Gonnabmummy · 26/06/2013 22:19

Had to go in for monitoring 10 mins after being hooked up he started doing the tango! But still better to be checked feel much better after being there. However been referred for a scan to double check should be sometime next week got to wait for a phone call x

RuckAndRoll · 27/06/2013 08:12

gonnab glad baby started dancing. Mine did the same a few weeks back when I went in.

MrsP I'm in the same situation, they think baby is breech but not sure. Think I'm going to have to pack my bag this weekend, feeling disorganised with all of you packing yours!

Stiggly Glad baby is sticking around still, fingers crossed for you, as tesco say, every little helps!

I've got a stinking cold and it's now sitting on my chest. Not impressed.

33+4

babyhmummy01 · 27/06/2013 08:19

I have packed baby's bag but not even thought about mine yet, have started buying bits for it though, have a box of breast pads

Have bought drawers to put baby clothes in as was running out of space oops. And bought some.newborn.nappies just in case.

I am really fed up though, am so.uncomfy and the thought of another 7 weeks min is making me feel very depressed so may have to talk to mw

Boosiehs · 27/06/2013 08:29

32 weeks today and not in anyway prepared!!! No cot, only a flat pack chest to build (well for DH to build). Not packed either bag yet.

We had our ante-natal course last weekend so slightly less anxious.

DH has unfortunately just had to have a biopsy following surgery for skin cancer last year so feeling very up and down about everything now.

Only got about 4 weeks left at work. Looking forward to junior being late so we can get ready.

MrsPennyapple · 27/06/2013 09:41

Sorry about your DH Boosiehs - hope everything is ok.

It's really sinking in now, just how close we are, and I'm a bit twitchy that our various bags aren't ready. Just haven't had time, and when I try to think about what we'll need, it all seems to muddle up in my head and I can't think straight. Lists are the way forward, I think. If I make lists I can do all my thinking ahead of time, and then when I'm happy I've got everything I need on the list, I can just go and grab it.

Hayfever is driving me CRAZY. My eyes are not too bad as I know to just not touch them, ever. My throat is itching like mad though, and it's even affecting my ears.

Anyway, DD is at a birthday party this afternoon so have to sort some stuff out for that. Have a good day everyone.

babyhmummy01 · 27/06/2013 10:48

On the bag front, a friend of mine who had her first in Feb says that the maternity towels are horrid and fairly.rubbish, she recommends the huge night time.towels with wings (not the nappy style ones but thin ones) she said they are way more comfy and avoid the nappy wearing feeling. She also said buy cheap undies rather than paper ones as.they are softer down there and don't chaff on bruising/ tears

RuckAndRoll · 27/06/2013 10:55

The midwives won't thank you for using the night time towels, been told by mine to avoid them at all costs. Apparently they can't monitor the blood loss as well with them. They can also irritate an already sore area.

It might be worth at least starting with the maternity towels.

wavesandsmiles · 27/06/2013 11:04

I've got the boots maternity towels, they've been well recommended. I just glanced at the thread title and saw the word "stretch" and thought maybe I should get started on some perineal massage. Don't want to be more sore than I need to be Blush

Suddenly terrified at the imminence of all of this!

boosiehs sorry to hear about DH, hope you get good news.

stiggley, glad your bean is still cooking

35 + 2 and so looking forward to being able to eat a real meal again! Kind of given up on the hope that the HG will go away before I give birth now.

babyhmummy01 · 27/06/2013 11:40

boosiehs hope dh is ok hun

Ruck ohh hadn't thought about measuring blood loss, but then nothing whatsoever has been mentioned to be by my mw! I get the impression she is over stretched as it is literally a case of in the door, bp checked, heart beat checked and thrown out again so never get a chance to discuss anything. Prob why I feel completely unprepared and terrified by the whole idea of it

Waves I mentioned the massage thingy to DP the other week - you should have seen his face Shock classic!

Gingerbreadpixie · 27/06/2013 11:45

Hello ladies. Just checking in as I've been a bit quiet! Im 31 weeks now. DH was off last week and we got lots of baby shopping done - crib, pram, car seat, bath, changing table, bouncy chair thing, cuddly toy!

Is anyone getting a pram suit for their newborn seeing as our bubs are due in summer??

Just got to think about what we may need feeding bottle-wise. I want to BF then express after a while if poss. Also wouldn't hurt to not be totally unprepared for FF. just in case.

babyhmummy01 · 27/06/2013 11:56

gingerbread nope not bothering as I am hoping we will actually get a summer!! I do have a couple of cardigans and a light weight coat for her though.

As for FF if you are only getting it as a just in case thing, go to boots and get one of the Starter kit boxes of premade formula - SMA is best value if I remember rightly - gives you 12/14 bottles of premade formula (and is sterile so just bung in microwave) and all the teats etc to go with it

wavesandsmiles · 27/06/2013 13:17

Gingerbread that sounds like a really lovely lot of baby shopping! What a great thing to do with a week off Smile I've not bought anything new because of stbexh going, but have been given lots of second hand bits, and been sent some brand new things too.

I'm not getting a pram suit either, but do have 3 cardis. In terms of feeding, I'm not getting any bottles initially - I don't want to buy things unnecessarily, and as I recall (from the many years ago that my DCs were babies!) they move through different teats pretty quickly, so I'm intending to BF, and if it doesn't work, send someone, or take myself, to Boots. Expressing isn't recommended for a while if everything is ok, as it can disrupt the milk supply in the early stages I think.... But not sure what stage it can be introduced? It's another area where there is tons of conflicting advice!

Boosiehs · 27/06/2013 13:26

thanks very much all. xx

Christelle2207 · 27/06/2013 13:34

34+6 and still feel ill prepared and have 3 weeks at work which I now don't think I can stick so going to ask about finishing bit earlier. I have done hospital bag list at least and started collating what I need. We have car seat now and Moses basket but still no pram or cot. My mum arrived the other day with stuff that I wore when born, lasted well given that it's 35 years old!
Packed dh off to Glasto earlier, he gets so excited about it bless (I'm no camper, pg or not). Obviously hoping no emergencies in the next few days. I doubt there will be but not nice being on my own if I'm not feeling great or have strange twinges. Luckily my mother is on stand by in case of panics.
I don't know what a pram suit is! I just have various sleep suits and blankets. Hoping that will be ok for August!

Christelle2207 · 27/06/2013 13:43

Ps anyone following July thread- something like 12 babies arrived there already! Eek xx

babyhmummy01 · 27/06/2013 14:25

Omg I am not ready for her to put in an early appearance lol. I can't wait for her to arrive but she had better wait til 35 weeks so I can get the info from anaesthetist first Confused

FoofFighter · 27/06/2013 15:01

no pram suit/snowsuit here, really won't be needed till the autumn, you don't want baby over heating. have got hand kitted cardies and a couple of thicker jackets like these kind of things, but mine have a hood on direct.asda.com/george/baby-boys-clothes/max-millie-jacket/G004128406,default,pd.html.

After last night I am more than ready for the bump to put in an appearance any time soon!! After 4 hrs trying to get to sleep and failing I ended up sat under the shower bawling my eyes out for half an hour :( have had about 16-20 hours sleep in the last 4 nights and not a damn thing I can do about it :(
