Good luck stiggley, I am glad everything is ok at the moment.

Aww waves how lovely for your children to see a scan! Hope you are keeping ok.

Like Christelle I am reconsidering my Maternity Leave. Well, I will keep my start date as my due date but I have put in a request to use all my Annual Leave before instead of slotting some onto the end of Maternity Leave. I have had a couple of stressful days at work not helped by some of my colleagues. I cannot keep working at the level I am expected to, I don't need the stress and my PGP has ramped up again so am in pain a lot of the day. My boss is 'considering my request and will put it to HR'. Don't know why it is such an issue for me to take my own leave Confused.

I am geared up to go at 35 weeks now, wil bring my Maternity Leave forward if needs be. It is dawning on me how much I have to do!! We have plenty of clothes, blankets, sheets and sleeping bags etc. and have kindly been given mats/bouncers etc. from family. But as for big purchases we only have our pram. We need a bedside crib/bednest, Carseat and base and to sort (and wash!) a reuseable nappy system.

30 + 3. can't wait! to not feel breathless and uncomfortable

excited to meet our little person.

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 22/06/2013 00:23

Oh I need a sling too if anyone has any recommendations for a fabric sling or soft carrier.

babyhmummy01 · 22/06/2013 00:31

trench check out if any local surestart centres do sling libraries. I am planning on checking it out here if my shoulder can stand.up to.it (hopefully smiley needed)

wavesandsmiles · 22/06/2013 08:09

Hope that work are reasonable trenchcoat, sounds like you need not to be there much longer.

I'd also recommend a sling library - I picked up a second hand moby wrap for a bargainous £10, but will be using the local library once my little one arrives.

There is a huge range of choice in terms of reusable nappies, and I have quite a large selection. I bought at discount a set of little lamb organic cotton nappies during the real nappy week sale, and have also been given some totsbots fluffies (which aren't made anymore but are gorgeous), and also some other second hand ones. A lot of people try out a few styles before they buy a full system as there is such a variety, and lots to consider, especially in terms of fabric drying time (bamboo based fabric nappies take ages so not good for people without tumble dryers)

I'm still suffering with the vomiting, but have no backache, no leg cramps, no pelvic pain, no constant weeing, so generally trying to play the Pollyanna glad game Smile My baby's estimated weight is 2124g, so when I give birth I will almost definitely be lighter than before the pregnancy (unless I suddenly put on a load of weight), and therefore will at least be able to eat lots and lots on the excuse of it assisting my milk supply! Looking forward to my wise woman workshop tomorrow. I think we are going to be dancing and all sorts, which is pretty exciting.

Drizzly, foggy Saturday here, so after the DCs have been to their swimming lesson it will be a quiet day in for us.

Glad baby's well Stiggley

Waves sounds like baby is doing great :) DD was on 9th centile when she was born, and I had a completely healthy pregnancy, without any sickness whatsoever! Your body is obviously doing a good job of making sure baby has what he needs - unfortunate that you're suffering for it though :(

MissHinky · 22/06/2013 12:34

Checking in on thread to mark my place.

31 weeks now from yesterday - again, still so much to do .. starting to freak me out a bit. Got midwife and growth scan next week. What with the GD, I'm hoping baby is growing on target.

Bladder problems still a pain in the ar$e when walking! (No pun intended!) Grin

Gonnabmummy · 22/06/2013 12:35

30+3 now starting to sink in we'll soon have a baby :) next midwife app on Wednesday at 31w exactly. Measured really big last time so if the same again she said I would go for another scan to see how big baby is. Kind of excited I might get to see him again but also don't want to be split in two :/ but can only wait and see

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 23/06/2013 11:36

Hi Waves thanks for the info on the nappies. I did a lot of research before I was pregnant and early on but have reached an impasse now! I completed The Nappy Lady survey but think my priorities have changed now. I said I wasn't bothered about bulkiness, but I have since read about babygrows not fitting properly and I can't afford to go and get cut for cloth clothes now. (I am hoping breastfeeding and real nappies will keep costs down for us).

I bought 2 Little Lamb bamboos and wraps when they had an offer just to get my hands on some really, I wouldn't buy a full set of bamboo but some would be useful for overnight I think. As you say, I want to try a mix. Mostly 2 part, but a few all in ones for ease. I was given a dozen Nature Baby Stuffables and some boosters by family who bought them but didn't get round to using them. Haven't heard of them before but it's a start, my local council also runs a voucher scheme.

It all hinges on us replacing our washer before baby arrives, it struggles getting normal stains out so will have to go. We are in a private rent so will have to see how it goes.

I am getting the strongest movements now, where I can see and feel a foot or hand, and baby attempting to tunnel out! The movements are all over, I am wondering if baby is moving out of breech position?

babyhmummy01 · 23/06/2013 12:29

Had a flabby night out last night, got taken to my all.time fav cocktail bar (not just cos am good mated .with the owner) and got to catch up with and shock some very good friends. Feel soooooop much better today, although I think aby is a huge fan of spirits lol.

32 weeks today

Beckett3 · 23/06/2013 13:11

Hi, haven't posted in ages, but have been trying to keep up with everyone.

It's really getting close now! My son put together the babies crib this week, we've sorted out her clothes and have separate boxes labeled in bigger sizes.

I went for an antenatal appointment and scan at the hospital a couple of weeks ago at 32+4, baby is breech which is fine as I'm having an elcs and despite the awful sickness up until 20 ish weeks, baby is measuring a couple of weeks bigger!

I do have a slight problem that I'm going to mention to the midwife when I see her Tues, I suspect it's related to my high blood pressure, but was wondering if any of you had a clue? I've been told to take it easy, but we all know its not always possible, so on the occasions when I've had to do a bit more than normal, I start feeling a bit faint, my legs turn to jelly, my hearing becomes almost nonexistent, my vision goes blurry at the edges and I come in a cold sweat. I realise it sounds a bit like exhaustion but its not that, that I know what it is!

34+1

babyhmummy01 · 23/06/2013 13:29

Either sugar levels are low or blood pressure hun, if you already have issues with it then blood pressure would be more likely. Pls don't wait for mw appt. Ring ur local triage and get checked over

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 23/06/2013 20:20

It sounds like exactly how I feel before a faint Beckett3 so be careful, my hearing goes and vision slowly narrows down so it's all black on the outside. I sound like my mum but are you eating regularly enough? The jelly legs could be low BP or sugar as babyh says.

If you feel like that sit down as soon as you can. I used to try to fight it if it was inconvenient: 'I won't faint, I won't faint...' not a good strategy!

babyhmummy01 · 23/06/2013 21:14

Eeek ladies, I have bought my outfit for my kid sister's wedding...she gets married 10 weeks after my due date. I know it sounds nuts but I got £300 worth of dress and hat for £58 on Jacques Vert factory clearance sale.

Managed to get my boobs into a size 16 which I was dead please about, and it looks awesome even with my bump so will look even better without it!

Been having awful nightmares about going into labour early...is that normal??

LilPeasMama · 23/06/2013 21:53

Hi everyone,

Sending postive vibes to stiggley

I bought the second hand cam, it is in excellent condition I'm so pleased with it and glad I have saved myself hundreds of pounds!
I saw the midwife on Friday for my 31wk check, bloods came back with no antibodies this time which is great news Smile

beckett3
I don't have any highBP but I have been getting lots of BH and I can feel my adrenaline kick in, I get all hot and my arms and legs feel like jelly Shock I have a sudden urge to sort my hospital bag......

cakebaby · 23/06/2013 23:52

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing OK, stiggley more positive vibes for you!

babyh what a bargain outfit, well done you!

Beckett get checked out, that's what your MW is there for.

gonna yep, it's beginning to sink in for me too. Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. Had a shitty few days at work, 5 weeks left, so much to do, not enough time. Got too cross the other night to get to sleep and had an early start. 3 hrs sleep, busy day & didn't tune into bumps wriggles so spent the next 24 hrs worrying. Back to normal today though.

Had to go to hosp yesterday for work, pregnant lady wheeled past me in corridor on a bed screaming her head off, poor woman. Not helpful. Shock

Have MW appt this week to discuss birth.....I'm NOT READY to discuss it, really going to have to man up before then. I only get 1 3hr antenatal class in 3 weeks time, I don't have a clue what I'm doing and feeling quite defensive against kindly sorts (IL'S) offering advice interfering
Come and give me a shake or something!

I'm feeling very aggravated by EVERYTHING, short tempered and ratty, poor DH suffering the wrath. Anyone else feeling any similar or i am just an unreasonable, hormonal moo?

Hope this passes and is not here for the next 9 weeks! Blush

cakebaby · 23/06/2013 23:58

waves I read your other thread, your stbexh sound like a complete twunt and you are a bloody marvel. I, on the other hand completely accept I am a moaning minnie drama queen Blush

Gonnabmummy · 24/06/2013 00:30

cakebaby glad all is ok now, I had a day like that a while back then nothing in the morning, ended up crying at work half hour later he did the tango and didn't stop all day!

Bit of tmi but was sick soo bad outside today :( haven't been sick for around 14 weeks now had sickness quite bad in early stages. But this is from heartburn this last 3 days have been rediculous going to phone gp tomorrow see if he can give me anything even a gavisicon drip wouldn't settle it! Chug it down to no avail :'( anything worked particularly well for your heartburn? Would love to know :)

Stiggley · 24/06/2013 09:04

The positive vibes seem to be working - thank you. Back in hospital tomorrow for monitoring etc. 2 days till I am 34 weeks.

Dh being quite blase about it all. I don't think he understands the seriousness of all of it. Had a wobble at midnight but he was reluctant to take me to hospital. Luckily bean started kicking again.

This morning bean us kicking loads now.

Hope you are all ok.

Christelle2207 · 24/06/2013 12:56

sorry that DH isn't being helpful Stiggley. what's the plan - try and keep bean in as long as possible or are they already talking of CS or induction?

Woofers · 24/06/2013 13:24

Stiggly - men aren't cut out for the marathon of stress which pregnancy is. Dh and I agreed early on that he wouldn't drink whilst I wasn't drinking we are not heavy drinkers honest this lasted all of 1 month.
Sat night I spent all evening in the loo praying to the gods of vomiting whilst he enjoyed a bottle YES A BOTTLE of red wine. AND the last doughnut. Now whilst I know I'm being unreasonable to want them things whilst being sick, there is nothing to say that on Sunday, once feeling better, I would have enjoyed said doughnut. And as for the red wine . . . I have had an inch since finding out Hmm its on my list of reasons never to fall pregnant again.
Anyway - in short - I feel your pain. Good job your all alright at the min. Don't ask him next time. Tell him your going and if he wants to come he can.

chocolatesolveseverything · 25/06/2013 10:18

Just popping by to pass on good vibes to Stiggley. Sorry your DH isn't being more supportive.

And I can't imagine how horrible it must be being sick for this long Woofers. I'm feeling a little queesy after breakfast this morning. It's a one-off incident but even that is making me feel sorry for myself!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 25/06/2013 19:33

Hope all is going well in hospital Stiggley, sorry DH isn't being understanding...have they given you both a tour of the NICU?
Maybe seeing smaller than gestation babies would shock him into realising how serious it is.

No idea about heartburn Gonna, luckily avoided it so far/with DS. Hope GP was helpful!

cake, it's hot and muggy, you're probably fat, uncomfortable & spending your day being kicked. You're allowed to be ratty!

Beckett, hope the MW was able to tell you what's wrong, I get the same feelings you described & I've got 'low' normal blood pressure.

to everyone else

33+3

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 25/06/2013 22:29

Hi gonnab my baby moving its head From right below my breastbone helped! My GP also prescribed me Ranitidine for heartburn, it stops the stomach creating too much acid. You have to remember to take it twice a day though, I only seem to remember when the heartburn kicks in. I am still getting a lot of reflux though so it hasn't helped that yet.

There is omerazole as well.

plieadianpony · 25/06/2013 22:52

Trenchcoat Sa-Be Slings are really good. I have one from a relative who is a 'super mummy' apparently they offfer better support to little babies. (they are actually quite chgeap as well)

Acid reflux. Have that too! Brought some gaviscon so will try that tonight.

I hope you are feeling very excited. I am emotional alot at the moment. Saw two tiny babies at work today. I felt overwhelmed. They were so beautiful! I can't wait to meet my little person now. I wish I had a window to look at him. 31 weeks tomorrow!
