Fingers crossed for baby staying put Stiggley!

MrsPennyapple · 20/06/2013 20:55

Hope you can keep that baby in there a bit longer Stiggley

Cake I'm not surprised you're miffed! If you've had to bail him out to the tune of hundreds of pounds, then he is clearly living well outside his means. Perhaps it's time for him to learn about budgeting. Easy for me to say, I know, but I'm afraid I'd have refused.

cakebaby · 20/06/2013 21:05

Thanks mrsp I agree with you, but without going into details, leaving them without would have far reaching & lasting consequences for their LO, so not an option. Its just so frustrating and I feel guilty for getting narked about it.

But nothing compared to stiggleys concerns at present. Good luck vibes.....

MrsPennyapple · 20/06/2013 22:00

A difficult positon for you to be in, cake. It's good of you to help, but you are still allowed to be frustrated and annoyed. No guilt necessary!

MrsWajs · 20/06/2013 22:16

I haven't been here for ages but just wanted to say i was thinking if stiggley
It may or may not be helpful but in the past few weeks i have known of two babies born at 31 and 33 weeks respectively and both are now home and well with no problems :)

RuckAndRoll · 21/06/2013 08:11

stiggley hope bean can stay put for a while longer.

first of the NHS antenatal classes this afternoon. 3 hours on labour, I suspect dh may need a cold beer to recover from the class! Grin

babyhmummy01 · 21/06/2013 09:54

ruck I am jealous, all we get here is a one hour talk by a mw and zero other input and that hour covers everything from labour to how to bath and dress baby. Feel very unprepared xxx

RuckAndRoll · 21/06/2013 10:18

We get 4 * 1.5hr sessions. Two on labour, one on newborn and one on breastfeeding. They're combining the two labour ones today though. Knowing the mw who's taking todays class, she won't sugar coat anything for a queezy DH!

FoofFighter · 21/06/2013 10:50

Ooh stiggley fingers and legs crossed for you! All the babies bar one that have been born in my circle in the last year or so have been early for some reason Confused 35w, 34w, 33w 32w... all are happy and healthy :)

GaryBuseysTeeth · 21/06/2013 10:54

Good luck stiggley, hope you can brew that baby for a little while longer, and you're not too bored on bed rest!

Ruck, enjoy the antenatal class.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, any nice plans?

We're having a quiet one (DH off on a works booze up on Sat so I expect Sunday morning will be very quiet!), taking DS to his first farm on Monday...really excited about seeing how he reacts to the bigger animals.

32+6

babyhmummy01 · 21/06/2013 12:22

Gary sounds like a good one!!

Mine is meant to be 'special' one as its our first weekend without the kids and without DP being at work in forever so I am really looking to it. DP has promised we will do something nice, so aiming to get the housework and ironing done tonight, but have also promised to go for a drink with my friend as it was her birthday last weekend so am really looking forward to that cos it has been months since I went out in an evening, am not sure how I will cope with the pain but I am determined to make it!!

I am hoping that the weather cheers up and that we can take a picnic and sod off into the countryside for a few hours with the dog and just enjoy some time together without anyone demanding anything from either of us...my folks are away for the next 2 weeks so no expectant granny nagging for visits and trying to grab at my bump which will be blissful!!

JRmumma · 21/06/2013 12:37

Stiggley - good luck and fingers crossed for you

babyhmummy enjoy your weekend, sound like you need a break, hope the weather holds out. No sign of the thunder storms they have been promising for the last few days yet! Last weekend me and dh had an impromptu day out together just the 2 of us which was lovely. We went for lunch which got us all excited as it was fathers day so was surounded by families and made us think that that would be us soon, then ended up in B&Q buying paint testers for the baby's room. Was lovely as we arent that prepared yet. DH has been studying for an exam for the last few months and so we havent had the time to do these things, or spend much time together.

I thought my antenatal offering was a bit lame, but after reading the posts above I think its quite alot. We have a 9:30 till 3:30 preparing for birth workshop on a weekend, and then I have a 3.5hr breastfeeding and caring for a newborn course a couple of weeks later. So I guess we are being quite spoilt.

mrsd77 glad your growth scan went OK. I am being sent for one at 32 weeks as the consultant I saw on Tuesday, which was a follow up appointment to an internal ultrasound to check blood flow to the placenta at 23 weeks (all fine), which I was referred for due to low PAPP-A, said that the heartbeat and belly measurement were on the low end of the normal range so she wants to keep an eye on me. Anyone else had to have growth scans? Or have low PAPP-A?

wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 13:29

Fingers also crossed for a staying put for now bean for you stiggley.

I'm having a crap time with stbxh, w

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 13:32

Argh, phone went odd.... Anyway, I have a growth scan this afternoon. Baby/bump have been measuring small due to the HG and subsequent lack of weight gain on my part. Last one was 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Anyway, won't bore you with domestic woes, just wish I had a magic wand to make my life a little easier.

34+3

babyhmummy01 · 21/06/2013 13:35

waves what is he up to now hun??

Christelle2207 · 21/06/2013 13:43

Good luck stiggley though even if your bean arrives 33+ weeks is good isn't it? Take care of yourself.
Best of luck with scan waves
I'm having major rethink about working up to 38 - my friend had a baby earlier this week at 37, everything happened very quickly! I'm just not ready yet so need to get myself into gear just in case .
I have been convinced that he will come late so by working up to 38 weeks I have a max of 4 weeks at home - that sounds about the max I can cope with. But my friend was equally convinced hers would come late!
34 + 0 today!

wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 13:43

I'll pm you when I'm back from hospital with a link to my other thread babyh. Just exhausted by him now

RugBugs · 21/06/2013 15:09

Fingers crossed bean stays put Stiggley

DP has an irresponsible Sister Cake nobody has any idea where she gets it from but she requires constant bailouts from DPs parents and despite not having a job drives an audi and has been on 3 holidays recently.

I'm with the DP/H's in the 'no point in worrying over what you can't sort yet' camp I'm afraid. I am a little anxious about where exactly I'll be delivering (I want home, mw thinks mlu, consultant would prefer I was in consultant-led ha!) it all depends on how my pgp/coccyx/bp/how busy hospital is when I go into labour so can do absolutely no planning!

Hope your scan went well waves

Stiggley · 21/06/2013 17:05

Thanks for the messages. Had to go back to hospital today as felt rubbish. But fortunately all ok. Bean very happy at the moment thank goodness. Feel v tired but still relieved all ok for now. Just wish I had a crystal ball.

wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 19:12

Sorry you feel rubbish stiggley but glad bean is well.

My scan was good, still got a tiddler (9th centile ish) but active, has grown etc so I'm very relieved. My DCs were with me and loved seeing their baby brother on the scan!

Hoping for a quiet relatively sick free weekend after this mornings drama. Anyone else have more exciting plans?

FoofFighter · 21/06/2013 19:56

Good news then Waves :) so glad he has grown for you, have you put more weight on yourself too? How fab that your other children could be with you too - bet they are soooo excited!

Plans here for weekend are coffee/gossip with friends tomorrow afternoon and Sunday I plan on going to the local Armed Forces Day parade, weather permitting.

OP posts:
wavesandsmiles · 21/06/2013 20:49

No weight gain for me, but over the moon that the baby has grown. I wish I had taken a photo of my DCs faces...the consultant was wonderful, she showed them his ribs, spine, toes etc - even the "boy parts" (much to DD's amusement) having checked with me that they knew what flavour sibling they are having!

In terms of the weight gain, it will sort of a be a positive not to have weight to lose (as my consultant said, trying to reassure me), and I'll be allowed to eat just whatever I want whilst breastfeeding. As I successfully fed both my DCs, my consultant is confident that I shouldn't have any real issues, despite the fact that I have had problems with weight gain.

Your plans sound lovely foof - just how weekends should be Smile

JollyShortGiant · 21/06/2013 20:57

Checking in

RuckAndRoll · 21/06/2013 22:02

waves that sounds like such an amazing memory for your dc. Smile

weekend for me, well we have friends coming to stay with our god children who are 3.5years and 9 months. can't wait, but I'm already exhausted before the weekends even began

babyhmummy01 · 21/06/2013 22:16

waves glad all went ok at hospital, have only read the last 24 hours of ur other thread and am aghast...I actually don't know what to say other than what a complete knobend and am sending you massive hugs.
