Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

laura0007 · 26/06/2013 08:47

Thisisfreakingmeout me too! I keep thinking I have a bump...not all those cakes I've been eating oh no!
Convinced there is more than one in there. Although I did have a dream the other night and 17 babies came out, one after the the other like a log flume.

Namechangingnorma · 26/06/2013 10:20

Morning ladies, I have totally caved and booked myself in for an early scan privately when I will be 7+1. After a blighted ovum and no warning signs that anything was wrong and the horror at the 12 week scan, I just can't go through it again, would rather know now than later. Am freaking a bit as after 2 days sickness I feel fine again today!. I just don't think I can actually believe there might be a baby in there, all I can think about is whether there will be anything there at the scan.

Shropshiremummy2b · 26/06/2013 10:28

I'm really confused! Why have some of you already had scans? I'm due 3rd Feb and just had my MW appt arranged for the 14th and scan on the 24th..... aka aaaaaaggggeess away!

I'm so scared about telling work, we go to Florida every Feb to exhibit and I'm head salesperson.... the amount of times people have said to me 'I don't know what they'd do with out you' does not help!

Mind you, apart from SIX positive tests and vaguely sore boobs, i'm not totally convinced that it's happening at all.

Hurry up February and bring on the logflume Laura0007!

jazzcat28 · 26/06/2013 10:29

namechangingnorma exciting news re your scan! DH and I have decided to wait until I get my letters through re first midwife appt before making the decision about early scans. If they scan me at 9wks (as some others have mentioned up thread) then I've only really got 3 weeks to wait. If they scan me at 12wks then we might pay for a private scan.

Feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders having told my supervisor yesterday.

I've been window shopping prams etc too... all rather scary!

I want to buy something baby related as soon as scan has been done - thinking some clothes or some booties.

Also need to think about when to dismantle our study which will be the nursery.

Shropshiremummy2b · 26/06/2013 11:39

P.S. For those super excited and already thinking of names, I discovered NameBerry.com yesterday. This is how I will be killing a lot of time. x

LovesToBake · 26/06/2013 11:48

Can I join? I'm 5+4 with DC2 and the delightful upset tummy has kicked in as has the nausea, exactly the same as last time. I seem to recall the tummy thing only lasted a few days and then the puking began so I'm keeping everything crossed that it won't be as bad this time - haven't actually been sick yet, just feeling queasy. I've completely gone off the idea of chocolate and all I want to eat is salty crisps - I survived much of my first pregnancy on plain hula hoops so might need to pop out to the shops to pick some up pronto!

I've got my booking in appointment when I'm a little over 8 weeks and I'm already on countdown as it should feel more real then. From what I remember of last time, I then got a letter shortly after the midwife appointment with a scan date for around 12 weeks.

tinypolkadot · 26/06/2013 11:53

laura0007 I?m convinced there?s more than one in here too!

I?ve not heard anything from the GP or the midwife or anyone since I handed in the form I needed to complete about a week ago now. When do you think I should call them? The form said they like to see everyone at 8 weeks, and if you are over 8 weeks then to ring the midwife team direct.

I was 8 weeks yesterday I think, which is why I thought I?d hear something straight away. I might just see if there?s a letter tonight and then ring tomorrow if not.

So ? tuna. I?ve bought a tuna sandwich from the canteen for lunch (the only thing that I fancied) and now I?m worrying about eating it. I know the NHS guidelines say you can eat 4 tins of tuna a week. So I?m sat here thinking there surely can?t be 4 tins in there! I have avoided tuna so far..... I guess I?d like some reassurance to eat it from those of you who already have DC and ate tinned tuna in your pregnancies Smile

jazzcat28 · 26/06/2013 12:14

tinypolkadot I think you'll be fine! I use 1 can of tuna to make 2 sandwiches (i.e. 4 slices of bread) so I'm sure you haven't blown the 4 can rule in one sandwich!

tinypolkadot · 26/06/2013 12:22

Thanks jazzcat28 I?ve just started to tuck in! Funny, but I much prefer the thought of sandwiches at work than making them at home at the minute ? can?t stand the smell of the fridge etc. Might have to get a job lot of air fresheners!

Congratulations lovestobake funny you should mention hula hoops, I was just thinking how great they would be to eat earlier! Might have to get some too!

laura0007 · 26/06/2013 12:29

Has anyone else got skin like a greasy teenager? I wake up with about 20 (or so it feels) new spots every morning!

Shropshiremummy2b · 26/06/2013 12:43

Luckily not Laura0007 but my best friend who is due in October has been REALLY suffering and has done since day one. I don't envy you poor thing. Was just looking and you and I are due on the same day! x

laura0007 · 26/06/2013 12:44

Really Shropshire? The 3rd. Feels like ages away yet! I have my booking in appointment tomorrow and my scan on the 11th July. Do you have your dates yet?

LovesToBake · 26/06/2013 12:46

Tinypolkadot - hope you find some hula hoops, they were my saviour with DC1 - I ate two packs a day for ages! I know exactly what you mean about not being able to stomach preparing food or cooking - I was exactly the same with DC1. If I went out and food was brought to me, I'd usually eat it happily, but I just couldn't bear the thought of cooking, especially dealing with raw meat.

littlestgirlguide · 26/06/2013 12:54

Shropshiremummy, I'm in your county too :-)

SugarMiceInTheRain · 26/06/2013 12:59

Oooh Champagne - I have my MW appointment the same day as you!

Laura0007 - My skin is horrendous too at the moment. Really angry-looking spots appearing all over the place. Not helped by the fact that I'm spending every evening caked in make up for the show so am having to go make up free in the day (a very scary sight at the moment) to give my skin a chance to breathe!

I am not being sick but just generally can't find anything I want to eat, apart from complete junk Blush On my way home last night I made a quick trip to Maccie D's and ended up buying and scoffing 2 burgers (only admitted one to DH though!) Grin DH is being an absolute saint at the moment putting up with my weird food likes/dislikes and running round getting me snacks as soon as I get back in each night (even though he's been working really hard all day then looking after the kids all evening whilst I'm out!)

I can't stop obsessing about pregnancy - it is all I can think about right now and the waiting and waiting for a scan is driving me to distraction. If they fit my scan in promptly around the 12 week mark I will have to wait til the end of July! Argh!!! Keep fretting that I can't be pregnant as I'm not feeling any nausea and today for the first time in a couple of weeks my boobs aren't sore and tender.

tinypolkadot · 26/06/2013 13:05

My skin is horrid Laura0007 so greasy all the time with the odd spot, basically what it used to be like before AF but constant. Makeup just slides off, so I've started not to bother. I feel a right state.

I feel so ridiculous at the minute. We usually go for an active 40 minute walk at lunch time and I keep making excuses not to go when my manager is in (she always goes too) cos I don't want her to know, and quite frankly I get knackered going up the hills - so I'm currently sat in my car in the carpark under the pretence of going to the post office.

How long will I keep this up?!

TeaAddict235 · 26/06/2013 13:10

sugar and laura007 spotface here calling. Oh yes, i've been getting random spots across my cheekbones. Nasty little things. Trying to drink more water to appease the hormones.
I thought that expectant mothers looked blossoming and radiant?! Not me.

I've started looking on gumtree for things in my area, but no buying, just browsing.

Shropshiremummy2b · 26/06/2013 14:54

Laura0007 Midwife on the 14th and scan on the 24th. Can we swap please?! I'm soooo impatient. We go on holiday on the 7th (1st wedding anniversary) and get back on the 13th so I will be sitting on the beach stewing!

Bugger, just discovered a spot. Serve me right for being smug. On the brightside that surely means i'm pregnant- yay!

Ruggle · 26/06/2013 16:07

Funny about the Hula Hoops...I've been craving them and Wotsits!
I had my first ever pregnancy barf last night, after eating a radish..

Any tips on how to get rid of the constant gross (not quite metallic) taste in my mouth, other than constantly eating?

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 38, and a bit bewildered by it all!

Marie2810 · 26/06/2013 16:39

Spots, craving junk food and shiny face...sounds familiar! I know exactly how you feel about re: scanning and appointments - have my booking appointment with MW on the 5th. Still waiting for scan date. Just want to get it all done so I can start telling people! I'm just paranoid my boobs are giving me away! Ha.
A couple me and my DP know have had their baby in the last 24 hours - I had a little tear when I saw a pic on Facebook, I have to admit! Stupid hormones!

Ruggle · 26/06/2013 16:55

Hello
I thought I'd posted a message earlier but I can't see it.
Just wanted to ask if anyone else has the horrid taste in their mouth and if anyone has any remedies to lessen it? I've been eating constantly to try to disguise it, but to no avail.

I'm a first timer (age 38) with no idea what to expect, and taking each day as it comes. Last night was my first barf (sorry)....Felt like I should be celebrating it or something.

Due on Valentine's Day....

Ruggle · 26/06/2013 16:56

Oops...and all of a sudden I can see my earlier message. Sorry!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 26/06/2013 16:57

Marie - my hormones are playing havoc now too. One of DS2's little friends was picked up by her granny today who told her she was now a big sister and she ran back into the classroom to share the news with her friends loud enough for all the parents waiting in the playground to hear! I completely welled up in front of everyone and had to try to shuffle off into a corner of the playground to compose myself.

Namechangingnorma · 26/06/2013 18:10

hi all, just thought I would update. ended up having a scan today as started spotting this morning very dark brown. anyhow, everything was fine and I got to see a heartbeat, dh and i were both very tearful. due to the bleeding and needing to leave work i had to tell my boss. He said the right things but was obviously horrified. i am scared be because i am nearly three months into a 12 month contract (with the clear understanding this was going to be a permanent position).

LittlePandaBear · 26/06/2013 18:14

Hello all mummies and mummies-to-be!

Hope there's room for one more to join?

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow with DC2 - found out at 5 weeks and it's been such a long 3 weeks already. Judging by the due date calculator thingy I'm due on 13th Feb.

I have sore boobs and feel a little sick in the morning but haven't been sick yet. I was only sick twice with my last pregnancy so perhaps I will escape it! But I am spotty although have been since coming off the pill

I have my booking in appt next Wed and haven't told anyone yet, except DH of course. I really want to tell my sister, parents and parents in law but DH thinks it's too early and ideally would wait until the 12 week scan to check all is well first. Although last time we did spill to family at about 6 weeks! My family don't live close by but I'm seeing them over the next few weeks and I'd love to tell them in person rather than over the phone. Does anyone else have a DH/DP who wants it to stay quiet until 12 weeks? How do you compromise?!

I know it's my second time being pregnant but I can't remember everything about my first - when are we meant to wear non wired bras?! Hopefully not yet...
