We've had a beautiful sunny weekend here! Sat out in the garden with friends yesterday and had a huge munch fest and some Pimms. It was a-mazing!

I'm still wearing a wired bra, just can't stand my boobs in non underwire but I think I'm going to have to give that up pretty soon. Amoralia have some really nice bras- I've never had one from there but I'm thinking of trying them as my next ones.

Is anybody else getting a touch concerned about their bump being rather on the large side? Mine is getting bigger every day and according to DH at least double someone else's we know who is due a month before us! She is now the second person who is due about same time as me who looks positively nimble compared to my dome!
How does it work with c sections? Does someone assess you before labour to see if it might be too big for natural birth? I really would rather avoid a c section but would also rather have one planned instead of emergency one/ tearing!

frog I have a little wriggler too...reacts particularly well to really cold fizzy drinks, but in terms of food it just seems to jump around whenever I eat anything - have obv got a little chubster food monkey in there Grin

Ooh kips hope the house swap goes well, have always been intrigued by the idea but never been brave enough to go for it!

On the bra front I've got one maternity/nursing bra at the moment and am otherwise still in my normal bras (although I do need to get some new ones as they don't fit so well now).

Took baby to its first ever rock concert last night - Muse at the Emirates Stadium Smile. Managed to stay standing/dancing for the whole thing so had fab time, but paid for it this morning with killer backache!

Just had a friend round for lunch with her gorgeous 8mth old, sat in the sunshine talking baby stuff which was lovely.

Ooh, talking of which - I have discovered Becks Blue alcohol free beer - it's actually really nice and makes a brilliant shandy which is great on a nice warm day like today Grin

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend!

jennimoo · 26/05/2013 19:16

Kitten - becks blue is definitely one of the best, although in not normally a lager drinker. I'm having a little alcohol and finding half a bottle of waitrose low alcohol cider nice occasionally. It's only 1% and doesn't taste bad.

Jammy - don't worry about big bump = big baby, I don't think it's that simple! But MW will now start measuring your 'fundal height' and if that looks too big / small towards the end they'll get you in for an extra scan.

herewego2 · 26/05/2013 20:59

Charl - so glad you're all ok. Very good for you that you cant be cross for long, a great personality trait. Wallow in the creeping though....
Mrs Mango - yes, the groaning, huffing and puffing def more unattractive than the bump band.
I do hope you all like the bump band or you'll all be coming to me for refunds!!
Anyone else with swollen feet? I HATE this symptom... Off to look at the mattress website XXXXXXXXXX

SGJ · 26/05/2013 21:01

I've had a very busy few days and not much movement. Finally lying down on the sofa and eating chocolate to get it to move... baby is moving a bit but I think it's in a funny position where I don't feel much. Going to keep track of it though, and call the ward if it decreases any more. (on advice of my midwife sister!)

MrsMangoBiscuit · 27/05/2013 08:35

Swollen feet, check! Keeping them elevated helps a little bit. Last time I had some vaseline minty foot cream, which was bliss, but I can't find it anywhere now. The body shop one (if they still do that!) might be just as good.

Will hopefully be getting a support band today, but the trip into town, with lots of other people about, could be, erm, interesting. I had lots of bad dreams last night, and I have woken up raging! Angry :( Anyone else getting irrationally angry? Any good tips for shaking it?

badguider · 27/05/2013 10:33

Phew! I nearly lost you all there, you slipped off my 'threads i'm on' list Grin

We picked up the new campervan on Friday afternoon!!! My Dh was taking part in a mtb event over both days this weekend, I was going to just go down on Sunday when I'd volunteered to marshall but then we saw the weather and friends were going down to camp overnight so we quickly shoved everything into the van Saturday morning and headed down.

Saturday I met up with a couple of friends for coffees, sorted out the van and just mooched around in the sunshine, it was lovely.
I managed to sleep right through in the van till my 6:30 alarm sunday without needing to pee which was great!! Marshalling was fun but a long day on sunday... 7:30am to about 4pm out on the hillside at a stage start... luckily I took a folding chair with me :) the riders were lovely to chat to and it was another great day. After the last rider, I helped take the tape down which was quite a steep hike through the woods, I maybe overdid it slightly but couldn't just sit around while the other guy did it all... was EXHAUSTED last night and my hips and one knee were pretty sore... but have taken a long-lie today and woken up feeling fine except a bit of windburn and a couple of midge bites :)

In bra news... I am still wearing underwire for normal days (got two sports bras too), in a larger size than before. I was already a DD though and bought quality bras from bravissimo only and I'm completely confident the wire is no where near my breast tissue, they don't dig in anywhere and they support my breasts which without wire I think would be painful and stretching in the skin and ligaments unpleasantly as they are HEAVY. I plan to move to the underwired Anita maternity/feeding bra when I next need to go up a size. I wouldn't dream of sleeping in a bra right now of any type though but I will buy something for sleeping when I need breastpads....

fl0b0t · 27/05/2013 10:39

I've also bought a load of cheapish mothercare maternity bras. Non- wired, v comfy and supportive enough for my c-cups :-)
These ones:
www.mothercare.com/Blooming-Marvellous-Maternity-Spot-Support-Bra---2-Pack/LT7811,default,pd.html (and clearly I look this good in them)
They do them with and without nursing clips too.

Mumsnet won't let me upload a picture to my profile for some reason today, so here's my bump at 23 weeks (dressed in New Look maternity):
www.flickr.com/photos/claredowlingphotography/8804661045/

Enjoyed some offroad cycling yesterday but it knackered me out. Tired= sick again at the moment (plus some gentle acid reflux too). Boo!

And I managed to get the husband excited about baby clothes!
HOW CUTE?
www.next.co.uk/boys/newborn-boys/sweet-dreams/1

Anyway!

Mooster1709 · 27/05/2013 10:42

Oops - I didn't know about underwired bras being a no-no. I will look terrible in non-wired bras, but suppose I'd better invest in some Sad.

Yes to the feet swelling - and they start to look like they're trying to escape from my shoes by the flesh creeping over the sides. Horrible.

SGJ · 27/05/2013 11:05

I didn't wear maternity bras at all during last pregnancy and had no problems, breastfeed successfully with no issues. I think, as badguider said, it depends on the quality of your underwired bra.

Fozziebearmum2b · 27/05/2013 11:10

Omg! Woken up to a leaky boob this morning, completely freaked me out Shock

Does anyone know, does it just get worse and do you need to wear breast pads or does it never get that bad?

CharlW1 · 27/05/2013 11:48

Gorgeous photo flo

I have had a lovely BH weekend -minus Friday night- went to the Tate yesterday with a big group of friends and children - I didn't think it was the best idea to go with lots of children but we weren't in there long before we found a great place to eat - it's called Leon and was at the back of the Tate and really empty so we were able to stay there for the afternoon - it sold alcohol for those drinking and was great for the kids so everyone was happy!

yes to swollen feet - I have 3 pairs of sandals and 1 pair of winter boots that fit my swollen feet - my problem is that even before pregnancy my feet are small and very fat - my sister has said she'd lend me a pair of her crocs - this fills me with dread as I am used to wearing sky scrapped heels and have only just got used to wearing no heels.

Also suffering with heart burn and the dreaded thrush.

Also warning for those using cream to control their ladyggarden - your skin is much more sensitive during pregnancy - how I wish I had told myself this before whipping the whole lot off yesterday - sore bits galore Blush

MrsMangoBiscuit · 27/05/2013 12:09

Got myself one of the blooming marvellous supportive bump bands. I tried on the belt, and although it seemed to take some of the strain off my back, it did nothing to help with the ligament pulling at the sides. The bump band seems to help with both. I tried it on in the changing rooms and actually sighed with relief. :)

weebarra · 27/05/2013 13:26

Just bought a couple of pairs of maternity tights from Mamas and Papas as they have a 30% sale on this weekend.
Re bras, I only stopped bfing DS2 8 months ago so think my old nursing bras will still do ok. I'm still wearing my underwired ones too.

kimjayne · 27/05/2013 13:59

seems like my nesting instincts have already started turning me into a bleach weilding nutter! first room to feel my wrath was the nursery yesterday, today ive set my sights on the bathroom. its knackering but satisfying. I did a bit of a 'changing rooms' style make over on the baby room. evrrything but the cot is now in place including some cute bunting. must admit I was shattered afterwards but pretty sure even Lawrence L Bowen would be impressed at my efforts. DH sat on there for hours admiring our work last night. bless him! Hes not one for emotions really but he looked a little emotional. Smile still feels like im tempting fate by preparing in advance but id prefer to do tgis stuff now whilst ive still got the energy.

flipflump · 27/05/2013 15:19

Flo, you look fabulous, great photo. I have that dress too but had forgotten all about it as I bought it in excitement before I was big enough. I keep laughing at my bump in the mirror but it's lovely to see everyone else has one too.

The nesting has started too, I'm like a woman possessed. The kitchen has been blitzed, downstairs bathroom done, house hoovered, 2 loads of washing on the line (including cot sheets, Moses sheets, a load of muslins, cellular blankets and swaddling things, don't tell anyone, they'll think I've lost it Grin) now going to tackle the garden. Then I plan to set up the nursery and give it a good scrub. I may regret not taking it easy today, once I'm back at work but I feel I NEED to do it all right now and nothing is going to get in my way!!!

frogchops · 27/05/2013 18:08

Lovely foto Flo, I was paranoid that I was bigger than everyone else thanks to comments from my permanently fat sil even with a late sept ddate.... But uve restored my faith that I'm normal as I look very similar to you. Not suggesting u look big, just normal. oh god stop digging holes frogBlush
ION I'm in trouble with DP for buying a £40 blanket. BlushWink

JammyTummy · 27/05/2013 18:37

Flo that's such a lovely picture! And a lovely bump! And also I'm very relieved cause it looks quite similar to mine!

Frog did you get one of the mamas and papas ones? They're expensive but so nice! Luckily for me MIL can bloody well not contain herself when she sees a nice blanket so we are building up some seriously good stock!

I don't think underwired bras are a no no as long as they are fitted properly and dont dig in anywhere, which is when it can affect your milk ducts. But, how good is taking your bra off at the end of the day anyway and giving your boobs a really good itch?!

Kittenkatzen · 27/05/2013 18:41

Ouch charl that made me wince! Hope the soreness goes soon!

Gorgeous pic fl0 :)

We've done a few more bits in the nursery today - the cot is now up Shock and we have a giant tree wall sticker on the wall behind it which looks lovely....on phone so can't upload a pic but it's this one www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00870VGOY/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1369676262&sr=8-4&pi=SL75

frog we need to see the £40 blanket I think.... Grin

Readytosettle · 27/05/2013 18:57

Those next baby grows are lovely Flo...def want zebra & giraffe....might have to pay a visit next weekend. Baby wardrobe has been assembled this weekend so I have plenty of space for new clothes now :-)

Readytosettle · 27/05/2013 19:02

I saw a blanket I liked in mamas & papas, MIL has now knitted me my very own version and am chuffed to bits with it as it's like my own unique version.

frogchops · 27/05/2013 19:03

I'm terrible at adding links, how do I do it?

frogchops · 27/05/2013 19:07

And yes jammy, its a mamas n papas one, I was eyeing up the £50 one, but luckily the cheaper £36 one stole my heart! (So not quite 40, brownie points for me surely!) it isn't the one to match the collection were having, but it matches really well. I preferred the colours on this one.

frogchops · 27/05/2013 19:09

Not that I've seen another for the same price tht I'll probably buy next time and keep it in the cupboard until I can convince DP that it was a gift! at all!!

herewego2 · 27/05/2013 20:00

Mrs Mango - good advice there on the feet, will look out for that cream.
Charl - BLESS YOU, it all passes and returns to normal. the thrush is particularly delightful.
Well done to you 'bleach wielding nutters', I hope nobody gets in the way of a pregnant lady on a cleaning frenzy, they just get hurt.XXX
