Ooh, that belt DOES look good! It's only showing size medium. Does that mean it's one-size, or the only size left in stock? Confused It doesn't look too bad, I'm sure your DH will prefer the look of you wearing it to you staggering about clutching your bump, groaning in pain! Grin

jennimoo · 25/05/2013 08:11

I'm trying to order one. Managed to get a black large in my basket but won't check out on my phone so I will have to wait til I'm on the computer later.

frogchops · 25/05/2013 09:51

Is that the normal price or sale?? I can only get white medium though.

frogchops · 25/05/2013 11:14

ION I have a ridiculously active baby. To say i have an anterior placenta, I can't imagine feeling him more he doesn't keep still!!

JammyTummy · 25/05/2013 12:49

Do you think I could sleep in a bump band? That's when I get my worst back ache. Or am I being silly here?

Worried...baby seems to be moving less-anyone else experiencing this? Had massive kicks up to a yesterday but now kicks are smaller...even if I lie down and drink cold water. I do still feel but much more subtlety could it have just moved? Shock

CharlW1 · 25/05/2013 14:38

Definitely serious creeping by OH Here I can't stay cross for long about anything - which is just as well! Looking forward to the rest of the bank holiday weekend now Smile

MrsMangoBiscuit · 25/05/2013 15:27

Fozzie, it could well have moved. Mine actually flipped over yesterday, and suddenly all the movement was out the front, very visible, and very noticable. She's turned back round again now. In your shoes, I don't think I'd worry too much as long as I was still getting regular movements, but you could try eating something sugary to see if that prompts more energetic bursts. If you are worried though, speak to your midwife.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 25/05/2013 15:27

Charl, glad to hear it. Enjoy your weekend :)

Fozziebearmum2b · 25/05/2013 16:00

I had some maltesers and it sprang to life-phew!!! Smile

MrsMangoBiscuit · 25/05/2013 16:36

Ha ha, good news. Flapjacks are the trigger for back flips here. :)

frogchops · 25/05/2013 17:29

I'm clearly eating the wrong things!!Blush Baby is reacting to everything. I've just bought the bump belt thing from mothercare too, will let u know how that goes!! Am home alone tonight while DP goes out to play. He doesn't go out very often so I'm not sulking about it, lol. Day night tv with some haribo and cheesecake for me! yes this is clearly why I hve a v active baby!!

frogchops · 25/05/2013 19:05

Quick q for existing mums....would u buy maternity bras or nursing bras? Am planning to attempt bf and don't know if mat bras are just a waste of money. Have not really grown much, maybe one cup size....altho I know that could change.

jennimoo · 25/05/2013 20:18

Do you mean what should you buy now? If so your size will change loads still so get any non nderwired bra and get a nursing one or two right at the end. Then if bf works out you can see what size you end up after a few weeks...

That's what I did last time and will again. I'm way bigger this time and hoping I don't get too much bigger...

frogchops · 25/05/2013 21:53

Yes jenni that's what I meant. I've ordered two non wired mat bras now in my current size.
Quite a bargain.....I've ordered a cot bed, two mat bras, a money box and a cuddly rabbit for 106 pounds. All of which were half price ;)

kipsonline · 25/05/2013 22:02

Just survived a cinema party for 40x6 year olds today! Having a well deserved glug of wine now ;)
ION I am embarking on our first ever house swap tomorrow, a week in Lowestoft by the sea for a week at ours in Nottingham. Loving the idea of a free week away, slightly nervous about having strangers in our house (tho they seem lovely from emails re mutual rules and need to knows). Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained (and was a great excuse to start decluttering ;))

MrsMangoBiscuit · 26/05/2013 07:29

Blimey frogchops, that's a real bargain! We'll be doing an first-thing-in-the-morning run to Ikea tomorrow to get a new bed for DD1 in the sale. She's giving her room to the baby (her choice) and having the new bedroom decorated just for her. Not sure if which she's more excited about, her baby sister, or her new room! Grin

As for bras, I bought 2 maternity bras last time, which I still have, and still fit. I haven't changed sizes yet this pregnancy so I'm still in my normal bras. RIf I do start to grow I'll swap to the mat bras until we've managed to settle with feeding, however that goes. Maternity bras are also useful for sleeping in when you need pads, so it's not a bad idea to have a couple anyway.

kip, enjoy your week away. :)

TripleRock · 26/05/2013 08:08

My current bras from m&s have got nursing clips, so if I can use them while bf all well and good. They'll either fit or they won't and either way I won't have lost anything.

ION old pushchair is up on eBay... will be so sorry to see it go but still super thrilled with our new double, so it's all exciting really :)

PurplePoppySeed · 26/05/2013 08:46

Bras! OMG I literally stomped out of M&S in tiers yesterday, I'm so fed up of having to buy new bras every couple of weeks. They've changed fitting to be appointment only, so I asked where to look for non-wired t-skirt bras as i needed them for maternity (as they've moved everything too), i got sent to a stupid narrow area right by the escalator which seems to be the main thoroughfare in the shop.

After 10 mins of getting pissed off with everyone pushing past, I realised they only went up to a D which wouldn't have bloody fit before I was pregnant either. So I found someone else and said, I'm pregnant, need non-wired T-shirt with the moulded cup ( as that's what I like), "oh no we don't do those over a D", "we'll that's odd as I've got some at home for maternity?", "oh, you want maternity bras then, they're over here"... How many ing times do I have to say I'm pregnant for them to ing point me in the right direction.

Finally look at the selection - about 20 bras total of all sorts of ridiculous sizes not one that was sensible. Guildford is a massive shop, with a huge bra section, how can they justify having such a tiny area for maternity bras, everywhere you go there are pregnant people walking around!

/rant over

Needless to say by that point I just went home instead of trying mothercare/house of Fraser or anywhere else and so still don't have bras that fit.

Readytosettle · 26/05/2013 08:47

I did have a mat bra but didn't find it supportive enough. Now have a nursing bra & I think the extra clip/random bits of fabric help hold things up a bit better so will be buying those from now on. This ones by 'hot milk' & is lovely.

First time with the cantaloupe belt yesterday...I think it's on the large side at the mo, but def giving me more support under the bump....today involves lots of walking around so that'll be the real test!

frogchops · 26/05/2013 09:57

If it helps anyone I've ordered a two pack of mat bras for 14 pound. Quite cheap I thought. They are blooming marvellous ones from mothercare, one blue one white. I'm crap at links though, sorry!

Mooster1709 · 26/05/2013 11:17

Oh thanks Jennimoo - that website for mattresses is brilliant. Exactly what I was looking for! I think you've just saved me about £30.

Am I missing something with bras? I've got a lot bigger but have just bought normal bras in a bigger size. Are maternity bras different/better?

Went for a long walk yesterday and paid for it all night with horrible pelvic pain. Hurrumph.

TripleRock · 26/05/2013 12:35

Mooster, maternity bras are basically just non wired bras.

Underwired are not recommended in pregnancy, although to be fair I only switched when I found the wired ones uncomfortable, around 19/20 weeks.

jennimoo · 26/05/2013 14:38

Maternity ones tend to have nursing clips, and not be as good value for money / supportive IME.

I had the same experience as someone else with m&s: couldn't believe I would have had to wait days to be measured and found it really hard to find anything. And I had 2y old DD with me! The changing room lady took pity in the end and helped me find something, and checked the fit, but after an hour in there DD and I had definitely had enough!

Glad the mattress site was helpful mooster! I've used them twice and would especially recommend the travel cot mattress if you have the type we have (very thin 'mattress' on the base) after a traumatic first stay away from home where DD slept so badly... It's also handy I use as a mattress on the floor when they're out of the cot, as folded in half is easy to transport.
