Don't start me off on the World cup! I wouldn't mind so much if the rest of the telly they put on wasn't so pants! Neither DP or I like football so our evenings are spent watching repeats or rotten documentaries... However we both love cricket & rugby so get our own back there!

Am off work for a few days now so working up the energy to clean the flat properly and hopefully book a holiday for the middle of July. Got some fab quotes for Rhodes today, neither of us has been there - anyone know anything about this island? I do know to avoid Faliraki! TIA

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 12:14

I am so I would love to be able to get away before the baby is born, but due to DH's work and stuff we can't. And I can imagine it has been hard trying to find something to watch that isn't football! Why don't you do one of those free trial DVD rental things? That would see you through the world cup

Oh I forgot to say, I think we have come up with boys name at last - George - phew it was hard work, but we got there in the end!! Now we have to think of middle names for a boy and a girl, we might just have decided in time for the birth, or the registration at least....!

saralou100 · 28/06/2006 12:28

i understand your pain on the sky sports news thing, dp does exactly the same thing.. now i like fotball but i know far more than i should because of that bloody channel!!

i would also love a holiday, but all our holiday time is being taken up by this baby.. i'm using all mine to reduce hours and have more time off before baby and dp is saving his for when baby is born, so he should be off work for 6 weeks instead of 2!! am gonna try and do something this weekend though as i finally have a sunday off.. first one since mother's day!! so looking forward to it!! really want to go to longleat, haven't been since i was a kid, but i'm not sure i'll manage it.. got physio appointment tomorrow finally so maybe that will help me in some way!!

saralou100 · 28/06/2006 12:29

oooh, and george was on our list... like that name!!

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 12:40

Oh no I refuse to take any notice when he has it on, or with football, it can quite often get to the end of a game and I have no idea either what the score is or what colour each team was or whatever, I used to try and take an interest for his sake, but I either ended up falling asleep or (surprisingly!!!) yapping all the way through it which got on his nerves! So now I either read, or stay on the internet, or of course do something with DS if he is awake!

We liked George all along, the problem we have is that it is DH's Dad's middle name, and for his own reasons he didn't want to name our child after his dad, but his dad has been dead for 12 years and I never met him, DH hadn't had much to do with him for over 20 years so I think he has come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be a namesake but just a nice name. The middle name I wanted for a boy was John, but George John doesn't sound right, and we never had a middle name for a girl (first name will be Maia though) so we still have to think of another name for each sex!

saralou100 · 28/06/2006 12:46

john is ds' middle name after my dad (similar situation with dp's dad).. this time i;m going to use henry which was my grandads name and he was very special to me!! girls middle name is a bit harder though, couldn't use my mums name without offending mil and vice versa (not thet i like either of their names anyway!!) although mil does have the most outragous name ever - cherry thelma!! i think it's great (on her)

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 12:53

LOL My mum's middle name is Hilda-Mary, and her first name is even worse so that is out of the question and I wouldn't use my MIL's name, until BB started I liked Grace, and Maia Grace sounds nice, but not sure I can forget Grace from BB so quickly!

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 14:27

Just wanted to say Hi and I'm due on the 5th November (no wise cracks about the earth moving lol) I have both names sorted ... well for now LOL Beth Lucy Rose and Nathan James. Hope you're all feeling well.

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 14:30

Hi Debz and welcome Do you have your 20 week scan coming up?

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 14:32

Yes, on Friday can't wait !

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 14:36

You lucky thing, mine isn't until the 14th July!! Are you going to find out the sex?

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 14:39

It acutally makes me nearly 22 weeks when I go !Yes, I want to know the sex, DP doesn't so am going to ask them to write it down. DP is bound to ask after 2 hrs of not knowing LOL !

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 14:43

LOL how exciting! You will have to let us all know when you know! We don't like to be kept in suspense!!!

How are you feeling generally? Is this your first baby?

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 14:43

Sorry I am a nosy old witch!! LOL

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 14:50

Your not nosey I would ask the same LOL yes it's my first and i'm 34 so one of the older ones ! Felt fine, have been very lucky no morning sickness only back ache and round ligament pain !

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 14:53

Oh lovely!!

Are you new to MN? Or just the ante-natel?

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 15:03

Pretty new altogether a friend led me here and I had registered but only posted once or twice.

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 15:04

How many weeks are you NJ?

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 15:06

Well I suggest you get a very comfy chair to sit on, because once you start on the slippery slope to MN adiction it never ends!!

Do you work?

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 15:06

I am 18+5 today, not far off half way now

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 15:09

Yes it's where I am now LOL !!!! Looking on here between phone calls !!!

Don't know about you but it has gone so quick !

NatalieJane · 28/06/2006 15:12

Yes, with my first every week seemed like a month, even looking back now it seemed like a long time, but this time it has flown by, I am thinking running around after DS is taking up a lot of time. I just hope it carries on going so quickly!

fatbetty · 28/06/2006 15:16

Welcome Debz! I have my second scan on the 17th July and still debating about finding out the sex. Already have two boys and would love to know if I can finally buy something pink!!! But didn't find out with the other two so kind of feel like I should just wait and see.

Debz99 · 28/06/2006 15:27

Hi FB ! It certainly is difficult deciding whether to find out or not. Saying that it may well be taken out of my hands if they can't see !!!!

fatbetty · 28/06/2006 17:54

Kind of feel like it's something to look forward to during labour - the not knowing the sex. But can see the positive side of finding out now too!! Think I would probably go and spend a small fortune on pink stuff if it was a girl. If it's a boy then I'm already set.
