podglet · 11/06/2006 13:13

Hi, it's me! (formally known as Jen1209) have just changed my nickname to the above. Decided to change it after my FIL commented on a recent photo "You're skinny all over but now you've got this little podge at the front" Shock so he has started calling me podglet! Suppose he could have said big podge :o

mygirllolipop · 11/06/2006 19:41

NJ - I should have thought of that. DH would never watch the footie if he knew I would spend that much! We've only the bed and pushchair to buy will prob do that in the next few wks.
Jen - can you do some carrot cake for me?! Wink

NatalieJane · 12/06/2006 09:18

LOL Mygirl!! I always get control of the switch card before the footie starts :o

Well I hope everyone had a lovely weekend? We had a lovely time just sat about lazing, having BBQ's, and shopping!! Only thing is now the house is in a complete state because we have hardly touched it all weekend, so guess whose lovely job that is?!! And on top of that it was raining and storming when we got up this morning, but the rain has stopped and I think it might well brighten up yet, poor DS has gone to nursery with his jumper and coat on, and his sun cream and sun hat on!! LOL

Well have a good day everyone :o

(The sun has just broken through the cloud!!! :o :o :o)

DebbsyandBibby · 12/06/2006 09:22

hi all hope everyones well dont get much oppurtunity to post often due to work commitments, and this thread moves so fast
Well /16 weeks now going to listen to bibbys heartbeat on weds and bloods done etc etc.
Then 20 week scan on the 11th july which is my birthday getting very curious now as to what we are having as getting lots of flutters going on,think we will find out but keep it as mine and dhs secret.

mygirllolipop · 12/06/2006 09:35

NJ - I'm quite cross with myself for not thinking of that! When's the next England match (he def doesn't get to see the others!)? cos I have some things I'd like to buy!!

NatalieJane · 12/06/2006 09:44

Thursday 5pm!! :o I am already on the hunt for more things I want to buy!! LOL I love the world cup!!!!

mygirllolipop · 12/06/2006 11:23

Will sting him as soon as he's come home from work Thurs! Think I might get a pushchair and stuff for myself.

NatalieJane · 12/06/2006 11:41

LOL :o It works really well because I will say to DH (whilst he watching and not really listening) "Babe is it OK if I get this now?" He says "How much is it?" I say "£££'s" then when the game is finished I say now come and have a look what I've got, and he will sit down and say "Bloody hell, how much?" and I say "Well you said it was OK?"

I win I think Wink :o And what is better than anything is that I have been doing it for coming up 6 years and he still hasn't caught on :o :o :o

NatalieJane · 12/06/2006 11:43

Also of course there is the other side of the coin, I never moan about him watching football (up to a point) and I have even taken to recording some of the matches on Sky+ for him, which he thinks is just fantastic, so, I even have him praising me for it :o LOL

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 13/06/2006 08:33

Hello all - off to see Madwife today - should be using this extra time to do soemthing useful - trouble is MS has struck again (4 o'clock in the morning!) Having real trouble getting comfy at night - using pillows all over the place and still not comfortable. As for products - we're doing quite well in getting a lot of stuff for nowt - which really helps as our finances are non existant at the moment. We've already got a mamas and papas travel system - practically new as the person who bought it ended up with two babes at same time). Have a choice of three moses baskets (just need to get new mattresses) and have cot lined up. Someone is giving me some baby blankets as they ended up with more then they needed - and I have baby clothes being offered from various quarters. In fact the only thing I'm having difficulty in is getting Maternity clothes as my sister and sister in law are quite tiny in comparison to myself. Still I'll be alright for at least a few more weeks as a much larger friend is letting me have some clothes she was giving to the charity shop - she always wears designer brands - so I should look quite smart. :o

LadyAnne1stTimeMum · 13/06/2006 08:42

By the way ... has anyone else had trouble simply brushing their teeth without feeling the urge to throw up? I've been caught several times with this. ...Just asking...

MeAndMyBoy · 13/06/2006 08:52

Yes LadyAnn I really struggled for weeks brushing my teeth with the electric toothbrush - had to revert to a manual one which helped, especially in the evenings.

Hope everyones ok and coping in the heat - i have resorted to flip flops and very informal wear at work cause I am melting!!!

I have my 20wk scan on Friday pm!!! how fast has that come round. DS is 3 on Thursday so have people for lunch and tea and then we are off camping on friday night for the weekend.

HopingCat · 13/06/2006 08:54

Hi everyone.
I've had a nice long weekend, it was our first wedding anniversary so we took an extra day off to spend together. I'm really feeling well at the moment. This must be the glowing phase of pregnancy. Hope you are all getting to this stage too, and if not then be reassured that it's probably not too far away.
I'm also very excited as I have my 20 wk scan today. Can't wait to see baby again!

Lady Anne (and anyone else) - what it the reason for getting a new mattress for a moses basket? I've been given my friend's, so I know it is used and who used it. Do I need a new mattress, and if so where do I get one?

mygirllolipop · 13/06/2006 08:54

LA - I've not had this time pg but brushing teeth was sometimes vomit inducing!
I think I may have had an attack of MS yesterday but feel fine today. I was sick with DD1 til about 36wks.
NJ - I know that technique! A woman after my own heart!

NatalieJane · 13/06/2006 09:28

No problems with feeling sick anymore (unless I see/think about raw meat), but brushing my teeth has become a PITA in other ways, my gums are so inflamed and just bleeding most of the time, it is taking me about 10 minutes every morning and night to get them clean because I am having to use a really soft baby toothbrush to clean my gums with, then a normal toothbrush to do my teeth, and then mouthwash and flossing on top of that!! LOL I bet the baby comes out smelling of minty fresh breath!! :o

NatalieJane · 13/06/2006 09:33

Meant to say HC I am all excited for you as well!! You will have to let us know all the details :o Good luck :)

staceym11 · 13/06/2006 10:05

hi everyone, right done a bit of a catch up!

beth - argos is quite good for delivery times for sofas, we moved into our place just over 3 weeks ago and it took about 2 weeks delivery, they do say up to 28 day tho, the sofas are nice too!

ladyann - iv taken to not brushing my teeth until about lunchtime, disgusting i know but it savesme being sick constantly for 4 hrs so i think its best!

HC - the new matress thing is said to be to do with cot death, but i take that with a pinch of salt, my dd used one that had previously been used by 3 different babies and was about 17 years old, oh and slept on her front and shes alive and well!! ( unless i strangle her today that is, she being a right moo bag!!!)
good luck with your scan too, mine is the 4th july, seems ages away, wanna see the baby but now its kicking properly (not regularily mind) im not quite as paranoid!

gotta phone midwifes tomo and try and arrange a 28 week appointment, it will be the first since my booking in!

MeAndMyBoy · 13/06/2006 10:11

HopingCat what time is your Scan? looking forward to hearing how it goes. If it's like my last 20 week one it will be quite a bit longer than the last one and much more detailed :)

mygirllolipop · 13/06/2006 10:19

Ooh stacey you have reminded me I have to ring up sometime to get my second apt with MW I think at about 26wks.

Delia · 13/06/2006 10:27

Hi All

Well i have now been signed off for a further 6 weeks and have been refered to hydrotherapy, looks like i will be seeing nothing but my steadily getting dirtier house for a bit longer, DH is trying to help but still has to work and is a typical man who can't multitask! (bless).

Ladyann - i'm with you on the brushing teeth thing DH thinks it's very funny when i start gronning he said that i should not brush them as no one see's me at the mo Shock i told him that's disgusting and he just shrugged in his typical laid back manner - god help this kid if it's dad say's it does not need to brush it's teeth!

HopingCat · 13/06/2006 12:40

Hi,
Just got back from my scan Grin Grin.
It was really really good. Baby did not stop moving at all. The sonographer found it difficult to look at everything she wanted to as lo would not stay in the right positions for very long, and in the end she said the baby is a 'feisty monkey' but that he or she looked fine. We managed to restrain ourselves from asking the sex, so we will have to wait until birth now. The best bit was when baby stuck his tongue out at us! The detail you can see is really good, although I wouldn't have known it was a tongue if I hadn't been told!

They have confirmed my date now as 6th Nov, which is close to what I originally thought, but a week later than we were told after our first scan. I'll change the stats list now.

HopingCat · 13/06/2006 12:44
