Yay talks of hospital bags! Times flying by and I already have the baby bag packed. Mine is missing lots but I am we'll stocked in comfy maternity clothes now. Feel ashamed to admit but I am counting down the weeks til mat leave so I can enjoy those pregnancy yoga pants (6 weeks to go!).

Btw. It's super hot in London today. Phew.

esme80 · 17/04/2013 14:35

dinky I am planning a homebirth, the hospital bag is just in case really. I suppose its just that when I was pg with ds I was so prepared! I had llists and knew everything I needed to buy and pack etc. This time Ive barely thought about it! Although Im pretty sure Ill only have about a quarter of the stuff in the hospital bag I did last time, went a bit crazy with it!

Now whats this about not liking cake? Think I might have to bake something this afternoon when ds wakes up...

Oh and got my donkey! Yay! Cant wait to try it out tomorrow!

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 14:59

Don't worry Esme you have plenty of time to sort it. Yay for the donkey.

Icing - a stone at this stage is fine. I went to a school where eating disorders were rampant and lost a couple of good friends to anorexia - as a result I'm very much of the opinion that a strong healthy body and mine are far more important than what it says on the scales, especially in pregnancy. Don't beat yourself up about it iclaudius - no good for you to be worrying about it as if you're putting on weight its what your body and this pregnancy needs it to do.

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 15:00

That should say Mind not mine! Fricking autocorrect!

cheekbyjowl · 17/04/2013 15:18

iclaudius I stand by you in disorganised solidarity. the only baby item I have is one pair of white socks Grin

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/04/2013 16:12

icing I don't like a lot of cakes - cant stand cream, nuts or chocolate, don't like icing etc. but I love plain vanilla sponge, ginger cake and a nice fruit cake. I like some lemony cakes too. I'm a very fussy cake eater. I don't believe a person who says they don't like any cakes - I think there's a cake out there for everyone. Grin

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 16:15

Ugh fruit cake - DH loves it, I loathe it. Its my cake nemesis.

I love banana cake though...

Charlottemerwiak · 17/04/2013 16:37

Can I join in please ladies. I'm due 10-07-13 but was 13 days overdue with ds1 and 10 days over with dd2. So who knows this time.

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/04/2013 16:39

Welcome charlotte. Add yourself to the stats thread too (link at top)

Mmmmm. Banana cake.

Runswithsquirrels · 17/04/2013 16:41

I love cake. LOVE it. And chocolate. And ice cream. And anything like that. I became vegan just before falling pregnant which has probably saved me stones as vegan cake and treats take more tracking down! Although tonight I am making more cookies!

Runswithsquirrels · 17/04/2013 16:41

Welcome Charlotte

cheekbyjowl · 17/04/2013 16:50

I might regret posting this but I looked in the mirror this.morning and im getting titties like my grandma Sad ..will pinky and perky ever return?

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 16:52

Lol Cheek. You will stop looking like an octogenarian but mine have never quite as pert as they were pre-pregnancy. Mind you, good bras go along way towards hiding that fact!

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 16:52

Hiya Charlotte, welcome Smile

Okay to be fair i quite like chocolate cake but it has to be 'just right' unfortunately the person whos house were going around can't stand chocolate cake?! (I didnt realise these people existed) but i might have got myself a sneaky pack of jaffa cakes for my dessert Wink practically healthy with that orange jelly! Haha

Baby seems to have moved around and where i was feeling kicks lower left now its all the right side and lower bump? Strange...

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 16:53

P.s. Welcome Charlotte - hope all is going well with your pregnancy. As Totally said, stick your details on the stats list.

Abzs · 17/04/2013 17:25

I do have a strange hankering for victoria sponge at the moment. Just not quite enough to attempt to make one.

I'm also drawn to things that smell cementy. Thankfully not quite enough to lick the new fireplace though it's been close.

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 17:29

If you with the cravings i think your better off making a cake ?? x

PhieEl06 · 17/04/2013 17:59

Evening ladies, sorry for poor amount of name checks & not being caught up with subjects but just wanted to say hi! Welcome icing & charlotte, I'm another due on 20th icing yay! Grin

Thinking of shiv & family, so proud to be part of Oliver's Army!
Starting to feel extremely uncomfortable now, driving is a real task, my insides are feeling squished & the right side of my ribs are getting a right beating!
Hope you're all well & having a nice day! Smile 26+4

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 18:09

Ahhh! Be exciting to see how close they really are together Grin ive not felt any kickings near my ribs or even that close really Sad got another scan next thursday though (4d) so hopefully that should help calm me down a bit! Probably just bottom down like a naughty baby Grin

photographerlady · 17/04/2013 18:11

We are cake addicts too in my house. Making a banana nut bread this weekend. Rule of the house: if you want cake then you have to bake it. We thought it cut down on cake, I mean it did for a while as store bought was out the picture but then my husband mastered the sponge.

SundaySunshine · 17/04/2013 18:25

Mmmm cake, I've just had an apricot and almond Danish for my starter course Grin the meal will get healthier for the main, but will probably descend into a shameful pit of tiramisu lust for afters!

Cheeseandbread · 17/04/2013 18:58

Welcome Charlotte Smile

Hmmmmmmmm cake! I want some now and have none in the house...

We reserved our Uppababy Vista in red today from John Lewis- very excited Grin we are going to pick it up during half term.

26+4

SundaySunshine · 17/04/2013 19:00

Lol cheek. If I lean forward I can rest my enormous boobs on my enormous bump Grin who needs bras! Not so good for general posture though!

Thinkingof4 · 17/04/2013 19:55

Thanks for the update re shiv glad to be part of Oliver's army

Welcome icing and Charlotte

Hospital bags packed Shock Shock
I haven't even thought about it yet, I plan to do mine when I finish work which will be about 36 weeks! I just can't think about it yet, as soon as I see all those tiny wee babygros I will be a blubbering mess and I need to remain calm for a while yet!

Re cars I would happily get a xc90 but dh has a hatred of all things Volvo and won't even consider it Hmm irrational man!

I'm feeling super exhausted at night now, don't know if it's just adjusting being back at work after holiday or whether my blooming stage has withered!

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today, my sore arm (post whooping cough vaccine) is fine today so I only really felt a bit unwell for a day or 2, not too bad really

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/04/2013 20:06

All this talk of cake and the closest thing I can find in the house is a raisin bake elevenses bar. With all the extra vitamins & minerals it's far too virtuous to count as cake. I can't be arsed to bake anything myself (and I'm worried I lack the self control required to not eat the whole thing anyway if I did). I need an easy recipe to make just one or two cupcakes at a time.
