We've managed to fill yet another thread, so here is a new one to keep chatting away on...

And the stats list is here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SlouchingPanda · 16/04/2013 22:21

Thanks all. DH is certainly a keeper Wink but I suspect the gold medal husband activity might be connected to the fact that he wants to buy a new road bike!

I'm stopping nights at 30wk and have gamely suggested long days/weekends until 35wk. Might rethink that though as I am totally wrecked. In bed by 2130. It's a rock & roll life!

Dinky what's your gin of choice? I really miss it. And wine. I wish I were one of those pregnant women who totally go off booze, but honestly - not drinking is agony!

Supershiv1 · 16/04/2013 22:57

Hi guys.
I am reading this thread, just find it difficult to keep friends/family/all of Olivers army updated so have chosen the FB group as I can add photo's.
Keep chatting about your pregnancies (dinky -it makes me laugh that I wss due to start aqua natal on Sunday!).
One of the reasons I am updating you is if it helps any of you guys recognise some of the symptoms and get to fullnterm then all the better.
Can domeon

Supershiv1 · 16/04/2013 22:59

Doh! Can someone post across my update for non FBers?
Thanks
Ps boobs are massive!!!! Who knew manual expression was so bloody hard.

Guavasforbreakfast · 17/04/2013 00:31

As requested - update from shiv:

Hi. Between being with Oliver and trying to express milk, today has been very busy. He has got through another 24 hrs, but the bleed has impacted his brain and it's nigh on 100% likely if he survives he will have neurological problems.
I can't believe someone so small has so much obvious personality. One of the consultants has nicknamed him 'little fighter' and you can really tell everyone is rooting for him.
DH and I refer to you all as 'Olivers army' and the support and encouragement for Oliver really keeps us going. Xxx

Runswithsquirrels · 17/04/2013 04:42

Proud to be in Oliver's Army!
Woke up with leg cramp and I couldn't relax until I checked how he was doing ( am in bed closer to seven than 2130 sigh - hay fever + 3rd trimester...). So pleased to hear he's fighting strong. He's constantly in my thoughts, as are you Shiv and Mr Shiv. Lots of love x x x

Cheeseandbread · 17/04/2013 05:55

We are all behind the little fighter here shiv!

Xxx

photographerlady · 17/04/2013 06:10

I hope the night went well for you and the family shiv.

Morning everyone. I just wanted to share that M&P jeans are the most comfortable things I have found. I never thought I like low bump expanded (no band) but they don't roll down and they are such high quality. I think need some maternity tops now.

I must be huge this week as everyone at work keeps talking about my pregnancy. We had a power cut in the morning so few of us went for a walk up central London for an hour or so and everyone kept asking if I was ok...I am not waddling that much already am I?

VinegarDrinker · 17/04/2013 07:44

Thinking of you all and Oliver this morning, shiv

dinky I'm East, ironically there is a yoga studio 2 minutes from me but no evening antenatal classes. Ah well, maybe I can join for a few weeks when I start mat leave if they coincide with a nursery day.

VinegarDrinker · 17/04/2013 07:47

Slouching I did that last time with long days, managed fine actually but if you can bring it forward, I would. I'd be surprised if your colleagues actually want you running the LW at that stage, or maybe I have just been lucky with my colleagues/Consultants.

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 07:59

Thanks for the update Shiv - Oliver is indeed a little fighter. He's a bantam weight champ for sure! Good luck with the expressing - I was told being near, or looking at a photo of your baby, can help with the let down. Not sure if its true but must be worth a go. Sending love, hugs and white light for strength and support to you Oliver and DH.

Slouching - tanqueray is my favourite. I miss it! I also miss wine and cocktails - have had a handful of thimblefuls of wine in second trimester with meals but its not really the same! Am trying to get dh to drink beers and ales which I don't like so I don't get envious looking at him in the evenings.

Vinegar - that's annoying revtye studio. There are pregnancy yoga apps and websites and dvds which you can use yourself if you're a self starter - I am not so need classes to make me do it!

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 09:04

Ps the present to Bean from DS1 (who is star wars obsessed) and DS2 (who is R2D2 obsessed) arrived today - check it out

esme80 · 17/04/2013 09:37

shiv I am thinking of you all, and am praying for your Little Fighter!

I also had trouble finding aquanatal classes, the local leisure centre has one class a week and it was in the middle of the day! I am a SAHM, which means I have a toddler to take care of during the day!

I am getting a little stressed out reading about hospital bag prep etc, I have dont nothing! Dont want to get anything down from the loft as we are not finished decorating, so babys room is a tip,at the moment! Dont want to add to the mess! Should be done in another 2 weeks or so... However, I am getting the pushchair today, very excited!

dinky I LOVE that robot outfit, I must buy it to surprise my star wars mad DH!

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 09:54

Esme - aren't you going for a home birth? If so, hospital bag is just a precaution - just put to one side a few things which can be chucked in a bag if need be. Ocado have lansinoh breast pads with a third off ATM - if you shop with them just bung that and a pack of newborn nappies in your next order. Then all you need are some mat pads and clothes for bubba and you're sorted!

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/04/2013 10:04

I haven't even started thinking about a hospital bag! I'd better remember to chuck some maternity pads in the trolley next time I'm shopping, just in case. We have the small matter of a house move before due date, so I was going to leave it until after then. Last time I was induced and just packed a bag the night before after spending the weekend panic buying a crib, nappies and tiny baby grows.

I'll be doing on call days until I finish work at 36+2, but although they're pretty manic, it's only an 11 hour shift and I'm only doing 1-2 on call days a week.

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 10:08

Vinegar - there may be some evening pregnancy yoga options here www.hackneyholistichealing.co.uk/yoga_london.html

bigbelly4 · 17/04/2013 10:10

Oh dear, just popped into the co-op to pick up some milk and doughnuts are on offer - so gues what i'm having for breakfast!?

Shiv - glad you have all survived another night, I am rooting for Oliver and proud to be in his Army!

Supposed to be having a day with my DH today but he appears to have done a disapearing act!

Really uncomfy at night now and finding my dream geani pillow really uncomfy - strange as i loved it early on! I am usually a belly sleeper so finding it tough not to be able to. But have about 8 pillows last night made a nest and was on all fours - lovely!

princessllama · 17/04/2013 10:23

Glad Oliver is still doing well. Can I join FBI gp? Don't know how.
I have reached 30 weeks today and am super tired - hilarious dinky your reaction to tiredness is to exercise more, mine is to put 5 episodes of fireman Sam on and cat nap on sofa with ds .i have been having massive b h contractions when am tired or do lots. Pretty extreme, may phone mw but they are pretty relaxed about it I think. Meanwhile, our cat ( Norma lavender bob the builder Hoover Hancock Paul book) is stuck on the roof of neighbours house 4 doors down and 2 storeys high. Firemen won't come unless RSPCA ask them, RSPCA said I need to coax her down...this is tricky particularly as she must have jumped between 2 of the houses to get to where she is- hmm, so much for fireman Sam!

wifey6 · 17/04/2013 10:53

Talking of hospital bags - I've washed all baby's clothes etc today & have packed his hospital bagSmile the rest has gone in to DS1 wardrobe which they will be sharing.
Have most of my toiletries packed & a few bits but that's my next mission Smile
28+5

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 11:30

Cheeseandbread ahhh the race is on!! Haha

Thinking of Shiv and family, everyone's rooting on your little fighter xx

Oh no, I wanted to start my hospital bag but as my contract at work is finished I'm now home all the time and trying to spread things out, I wrote a list of what needs to go into it, got to be organised Wink and my OH has told me to hold off until 30 weeks, so 3 weeks and 3 days if I calculated it right!

We got the cot now, wanted to get it while there was an offer on so a little early but I'm glad we did because it's one big spend off the list. Picking up the travel system next weekend - a nice present from Aunt and Uncle. Considering buying little miniature bottles of body wash etc. for hospital but don't know if it'll be a waste.

Going to weigh myself for the first time since week 18 today, lost weight in first trimester because of loss of appetite and sickness and now I'm pretty sure I've put on a stone! I feel huge Sad

Haven't been feeling any BH but reading all of your messages I don't think it'll be long! I'm really nervous! Haha. Hope everyone is holding up well! Grin

BB01 · 17/04/2013 11:40

Sorry, not many name checks apart from Shiv - you and your OH are doing so well to stay so focused and just hope as others have said that you are able to look after yourselves as well as your little one. He looks so beautiful and I hope so much things work out for him.

I am getting BH quite a lot now. It is so hard sometimes. My mum chose the moment I was getting them to put her hand on my belly (I did say she could have a feel as baby had been kicking and then it started as she put her hand on!). Think she thought what on earth is in there?!

Dinky and Slouching, the further I get the more I crave a G&T or a glass of wine. I find the wine craving easier as I can get my fix with a few sips of DH's (it's more about the taste than the fuzziness for me at the mo) or half a glass on a special occasion. But with the gin, DH doesn't touch it and I am a fan of v strong g&ts. Funnily enough, having said that, I do find that a glass of ice cold tonic water does kind of hit the same spot.

iclaudius · 17/04/2013 11:47

Weight gain again !! I'm obsessed have hit a stone now - started nine 7 now ten 7. ....I didn't lose an ounce first trimester - not fair!! I'm five foot 7 but seem to have tiny bump but two large bumps on my back!!

Big belly the discovery !! I REALLY want a defender but dp is adamant I'll hate it - he would get disco but is worried about the tiny boot as we need all 5 seats up!

Volvo are doing AMAZINg deals on xc90 as I think the model is being updated so if I had four or less bairns I'd plump for that

I think we will end up with a caravels again - love it but no fun!!

Please do not start talking snout hospital bags - waaaau too early ( south to do!)

dinkystinky · 17/04/2013 11:53

We have an xc90 - reckon its fine for 3 kids for regular use but if all in car seats/boosters would prefer something with easier access if I had 4.

Princess - hope you get your cat down safely! Am snorting at the thought of you having to holler all those names at your neighbours roof.

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 11:59

Just weighed myself, right at the top end of the recommended gain, not too bad but going to cut back on all the naughty treats ive been having, out at a friends for dinner tonight but hes doing us lamb chops, mash and veg, so not that bad! I'm making a cake to take for dessert but I don't really like cakes so won't be tempted by that, thank god!

iclaudius · 17/04/2013 12:18

Not like cake

IcingOnTheNappyCake · 17/04/2013 12:50

Ahh only because I used to eat it so often I think, if it helps I like pretty much any other sweet food! Grin
