Natalieand · 25/04/2013 18:45

I literally cannot remember the last lie in I ha and even if dd does stop out or dh takes her downstairs early my god damn body clock thinks its illegal to sleep after 6.30 am lol

legallyblond · 25/04/2013 18:51

Grrr. Not a good day. Fog bound in Jersey airport.... Probably won't get home tonight. Big sigh as v tired anyway after a day of (yawn) business development (ie drumming up new/existing work) stuff.

Thanks to those who hadn't realised about the surprise twins and offering congrats. I'm still a bit overwhelmed but excited! They're non identical (two sacs, two placentas), so could be any combo!!

Although none of this was planned and I think it will be crazy, it's in a sense convenient as I am the main breadwinner (DH is a stay at home dad) so I doubt we could have afforded me having another maternity leave or break in my career after this (we can't really afford it now as I only get stat mat pay.... Eeek.... We'll be living off savings).

TheFalconsmistress · 25/04/2013 18:51

I am the opposite natalie me and DS are very sound sleepers its always a rush to playgroup in the morning, I have a feeling I may not be as luck this time! Smile

Natalieand · 25/04/2013 18:54

falcon dd used to sleep on till 9-10am as a baby then she turned 18 months and its gradually creeped earlier and earlier. I guess I should be great ful I got 18 months of it lol x

TheFalconsmistress · 25/04/2013 19:00

natalie DS is 4.2 years old and is is a mare to get up always has been I am glad he is not going to school till he is 5.6 years as he need a year of practice at getting up at 8 lol! I think when Willow comes along it will be all change though

Is anyone else having quite sore stomach cramps i assume its just down to her growing, Im not doubled over but its uncomfortable im 17+5?

Soupqueen · 25/04/2013 19:04

I haven't bought anything yet either. I've done lots of online browsing but nothing bought yet.

I've had a truly rubbish day.

We're renting while the place we own was being refurbished, with the aim of putting it straight on the market. Had an appointment with the builders to sign off and get keys back but while they were doing the final clean, all the water started backing up. Plumber can't find blockage (after removing toilet and new tiles), only possible next step is to go in through the wall of the flat downstairs - which we don't own!- removing her bathroom too. The refurbishment has cleared out our savings, I have no idea how exactly we're going to pay for the, or even how much it will end up being Sad

Then I fell getting off the bus this evening. Skin off one knee and will have a whopper of a bruise on my hip. I've cracked the screen of my phone and worried I may have hurt the baby.

Moan, moan, moan!

Claphammama · 25/04/2013 19:12

oh no!! sounds like a nightmare day soup! do you or the builders have any insurance that could cover it or part of it?

And I'm sure the baby is OK. they are so well cushioned and such resilient little things. Sending you a virtual hug

Soupqueen · 25/04/2013 19:33

I'm really hoping the insurance will cover it, am steeling myself for the phone call because I know they try and get out of paying for anything! It's nothing the builders have done apparently, just coincidence it happened while they were there so it's our house insurance. Fingers so tightly crossed its hard to type!

As DH said, at least it makes a change from worrying about the amnio on Monday! Silver linings.

Smitten1981 · 25/04/2013 19:35

Falcon - I don't think I'd be brave enough to tackle the terry nappies, but the other kind with the plastic pants and cloth liner look ok to me.

I quite fancy the Charlie Banana ones.

Claphammama · 25/04/2013 19:55

home alone tonight. an evening without boys... I feel like doing something extravagant... just cooking a spicy tomato pasta. going to add black olives to it... a wild crazy night...

char1eston · 25/04/2013 20:16

Falcon - I've had the same stomach cramps today. I'm 17+6!
Soup - I'm sure bubs will be fine. I fell over my own feet when pg with dd. went to hospital to get checked out as i landed on my tummy but all was fine. Sorry to hear about the blockage :(

TheFalconsmistress · 25/04/2013 20:33

soup bubba will be fine hope your insurance covers too

char1eston I am glad i'm not the only one and it settles down soon xxx

Terries are no different really smitten its just the folds that you need to learn mum used them with me so she is showing me

Haylebop12 · 25/04/2013 20:35

Ooh clap I love pasta. I have made potato skins tonight (still craving carbs) so just waiting for dh to text to say he's on his way so I can bung em in the oven. I'm starvinggggg!

OrangeBlossom2 · 25/04/2013 20:38

Oh no soup, what a day! Hope the insurance covers it. Agree I am sure the baby is fine in there after your fall, but you could always call midwife for reassurance if you were worried about it.

A child in my class has chickenpox so called the doctor just in case. I said I wasn't sure if I was immune which was a little bit of a fib, as I have had chickenpox before, but ive had it twice so I don't know if I can get it again and wanted to know as it keeps going around school. But the gp receptionist looked up my paper records, called me back and said I had had it in 1992 so can't get a blood test. Boo!

Sorry about the house falling through too.

I have stomach cramps but the baby has gown so much recently I think it would be odd not to have a bit of stretching and moving things around in there. Nothing really painful though.

roxvox · 25/04/2013 21:02

falcon I too have had some stomach cramps today... Quite sharp ones that catch me by surprise (17w 1d)

soup sorry to hear you've had such a rubbish day. I hope the insurance company pull through for you.

smitten I like the look of the Charlie banana nappies too. I would probably have disposables for the early days and for when I am too tired to do a wash emergencies, but I would quite like to use the reusable ones for the majority of the time.

roofio87 · 25/04/2013 21:13

yes so glad you ladies have mentioned stomach cramps today. I've been having them today, like very mild period pains. glad I'm not the only one too!!

SeriousStuff · 25/04/2013 22:27

Wicked I work for myself so will be working until I pop! Likely to be sending emails between contractions...would love to have proper maternity!

tuckingfits · 26/04/2013 01:56

Hello strangers! Well you're not strangers to me as I'm still reading regularly, just haven't had time to say much.

15+4 today, had appt with consultant (after difficult time last time) only she wasn't there & I was seen by a midwife over an hour late (again) & she was already pointing out things that haven't been done that should have been... I have such little faith in the community midwife team, even after having seen the midwife manager at my booking in. I also had to take 2.3 yr old ds with me as partner is self employed & my mum & sister have both had accidents in the last few weeks which have rendered them incapable of chasing small people/changing nappies. It's all go here at the moment! William was very good but bored & the place was so hot I had him stripped to his vest & trousers within 20 minutes,ar which point the heat irritated his eczema so much that he was clawing himself & bleeding everywhere! Great fun!

Anyway,I did get to talk to a registrar who assumed I'd want to book an elective section after last time but has agreed to go with the consultant's plan of attempting vbac but with a date set for an elective if I don't go naturally. Will see how I feel closer to the time, currently have my head firmly in the sand about baby needing to come out one way or another!

Caz I hope your dog is one in a million & is combatting her issue. Smitten I'm so pleased you had a good result, what a worrying time for you though.

I had another scan on Friday after violent vomming at work again on wed night & cramping & spotting, all was fine though and they think it was a 24 hr bug. Still recovering though,24 hrs my arse! Heard the heart beat at appt today. Lovely!!

Once again I will attempt to stay in better contact.

Also due 13.10.13 :)

OrangeBlossom2 · 26/04/2013 06:45

Tucking fits, what a horrible week! Hope you and family feel better soon.

Natalieand · 26/04/2013 07:12

tucking that deffo sounds like a nightmare of an appt! Poor ds! At least u are able to try for a vbac though :-)

There is a jan 2014 thread now !!!

legallyblond · 26/04/2013 07:47

Back in Jersey airport. Still stuck here (see "crap day" post up thread!). 18 weeks today and feeling it. Gah. Hate flight rubbish. I seem to spend a lot of time in airports!

Sanjifair · 26/04/2013 08:21

Legally, I spent less time than anticipated in an airport today. Got up at 4:30 am for a taxi to heathrow. When I got there realised I had brought my sons passport, not mine. So now I am on my way home on the train, instead of going to a meeting in Vienna. Work will not be happy, and I feel very very stupid. Pregnancy brain has a lot to answer for (and yes I know it is supposed to be a myth!).

SeriousStuff · 26/04/2013 09:02

Morning all! Have a meeting with the consultant today (15+6). Not sure what's to cover really but I need to tell them that we're moving and may ask to listen to the baby's heartbeat.

Here's to the weekend...nearly!

Umlauf · 26/04/2013 09:28

Morning! Urgh legally I sympathise, I hate airports when there are delays. I used to love airports! Weird.

Good luck at the consultant today serious hope you hear the heartbeat, I've just got back from the midwives (18 weeks) and heard it, but I was really sad as DH wasn't there, he was still trying to park the car (we had arrived 15 mins early) and was STILL trying to park it when I came out of the appointment 15 mins later! Also the scan date I've just been given is 22nd May when ill be 22 weeks. So bloody pissed off with Spain right now, its alright being a relaxed nation but not in this respect!

Now trying to convince DH for a private scan but they are ?100 and he says we can't afford it.

GRUMP!
