Shagged Out Viroids 7th Thread! From conception to birth...living proof that JSing really does work!

MrsBri · 04/03/2013 21:03

Hello and welcome to another shiny fred for Just Shagging graduates!

The last fred was nice and busy so fingers crossed we get lots more members

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The last thread saw a few births, including one set of twins, and this one promises to be fruitful also with a number of us nearing the end of the 9 month wait!

Our stats thread is here, so if you find us, please add your stats too.

There is also a Just Mumming thread for grads of the grads thread

And if you want to find out what Just Shagging is about or catch up with the undergrads go say hello to the Just Shaggers here, now on the 14th thread.

wavesandsmiles · 01/07/2013 12:20

I'm off for my 36 week check up very soon - leaving in half an hour and only just got dressed Blush. To be fair, I only got 3 hours sleep (super strong BH kept me up til nearly 4am) and have had pretty awful vomiting all morning.

I have however finished off (well as far as I can before the baby arrives when footprints, name and date will be added) decorating my bump cast! There are some photos of it on my profile if anyone wants to take a peek?

Fingers crossed I get a better sleep tonight, but I don't have much to do tomorrow, so if not, I can hopefully have a sleep whilst the DCs are at school. I'm grinning at the thought of a tv remote imprinting itself on your belly GBT, and thanks for the pompoms Smile Acrobat's barely stopped moving in the past 24 hours so reckon he is getting excited about coming into the world.

My DS arrived at 39 weeks, and DD at 38. I think it would be a cruel twist of fate for me to go overdue what with the ongoing HG, but I have agreed to do some gigs, the last of which is 2 days before my EDD, so not sure I am keen on anything other than an "on the day you are meant to arrive" arrival.

Kittenkatzen · 01/07/2013 18:20

GTT came back negative GBT Grin sooooo relieved and hoping to get a look round the mw led birthing centre to celebrate! It's an hour's drive from our house - anyone think that's too far away? I'm not sure...

Hope the check up goes well waves...I want to see your cast pic but am on phone app, will have to remember to have a look later!

Pineapple80 · 02/07/2013 00:55

Ooh Waves are you officially "next" to have baby in this group then? Exciting!! And hoping HG simply goes away for you soon, u have honestly dealt with SO much recently. Wishing u all the best with the hopefully upcoming labour SmileSmileSmile

Yay Kitten! That is great news.

Gary - would you be next after Waves then?!

Hooya - very good to hear your scan at 28 wks went well!! You're in 3rd trimester now, how fast has that flown by!!

Frog - hope your back pain improves. I had some degree of back pain akin with mild SPD/PGP, never of it checked out in the end but had the symptoms of very sore glutes and feeling like someone had kicked
Me between the legs all the time Hmm. Good news is once I had given birth, pain was immediately gone for me. What a relief!!

I STILL miss being pregnant (& u all
may still see
me hanging around here!). Am I strange? I do love being a mum though and whenever I have DS in my arms I find it fascinating he was in my tummy all those months. It's just amazing what we have created/are creating!

DS is 2.5 wks now! Doing well and think he is growing more and more each day. He tipped the 6lb mark last week and we will find out tomorrow what weight gains he has made over the past week! Can already see his newborn sleep suits fitting a bit better Grin.

Hope u are all well and do take care Smile x

wavesandsmiles · 02/07/2013 10:09

Hooray for negative GTT kitten

pineapple I honestly don't think I will miss being pregnant. After vomiting since early December, I am just looking forward to not clutching the toilet on a daily basis! My 36 week check was great - still have low bp, baby's heart beat is perfect, and apparently the head is fixed. Last night I had 8 hours sleep - a total result after a pitiful 3 hours the night before, so I feel pretty amazing today.

Full term next week. Making it all feel a bit real....

MrsBri · 02/07/2013 17:53

Gary, it's all trial and error at the moment! Sleeping isn't great, but we will get there.

We've had the midwife round today and Amy has put on 2oz since Sat, which is good. She interrupted the schedule though and now baby won't settle :-/

Good to see everyone is doing well with scans, GTTs, check ups etc.

I'll get my pom poms ready for waves in the next week or so! :-)

Fab to see new people on the thread - like pineapple and Mrs bri I'm still hanging around - haven't quite made it to the next thread!

Good luck to all experiencing odd or painful pg symptoms, it's strange how instantly they disappear when the little one is born only to be replaced by others like period pain from the lochia and a sleep deprivation haze!

I finally feel recovered from the labour and am shocked at my figure - my pg belly is gone and my boobs are massive - Thanks to breastfeeding I look great!!! Daisy is doing well in my book but according to midwives she lost too much birthweight and although she's putting it on its too slow for their liking. We're topping up with expressed milk and hopefully that will be enough but I may need to get some formula in to give her a calorie boost. She is fabulous though and seems to charm all the visitors, midwives and doctors that have seen her inlast few days as sshe's more than happy to be cuddled by everyone!

Take care everyone...

GaryBuseysTeeth · 03/07/2013 11:34

Glad Amy is gaining well MrsBri, hope you're having fun learning from her Grin

Hurrah for your fab boobs Stuck! Daisy sounds like a dream, hope she starts gaining well soon.

waves, love the belly cast! It looks wonderful, glad check up went well & you managed 8 hours sleep!

Pineapple, I hate being pg, how unnatural it is to have something living inside you that moves of its own free will. However I remember having a little grizzle after DS was born because I missed the kicks! So you're not weird!
Hurrah for your DS's weight gain, although can't believe he's almost 3 weeks!

Kitten, is it an hour in rush hour traffic? Our birthing centre is 30mins off peak but it would take anything up to 2hours to get there in rush hour (cheers London!) so might be worth bearing that in mind, also worth having a look if there are any planned marathons/festivals/roadworks/diversions near your due date!

34 wk MW appointment today, having a prod of stomach & I don't think he's headdown yet.

MrsBri · 03/07/2013 13:13

Stuck, my bang belly refuses to fuck the fuck off. How the hell do I shift it?! :-(

I think they stuffed a pillow in me during the c section!

The weight thing is a real pressure, isn't it? I'm feeling quite stressed about it. Sigh.

Gary, I had to stop myself talking to my empty belly the other day. Loon!

OP posts:
MrsBri · 03/07/2013 13:14

Baby belly, clearly!

OP posts:
Kittenkatzen · 03/07/2013 18:26

Good tips GBT thanks will check out what's going on locally - hadn't even thought of that! The birthing centre is an hour away in reasonably good traffic...although our route there doesn't go through any major traffic/rush hour hotspots so I would think 90 mins worst case. Omg I'm scaring myself a bit now......on top of that we've been told our new car won't be ready until early September, so there's a small possibility I might be doing those 90 mins in a ridiculous two seater low-slung sports car Confused

Hope the me appt went well - what did she think about baby's position?

mrsbri the thought of your empty belly just made me well up with tears! Even though I know it's only empty because you've got beautiful Amy out in the real world now! Hormonal much?!!

MrsBri · 03/07/2013 20:45

Awww, Kitten! Bless you :-)

I don't envy you that journey, it has to be said. I really hope your car comes before your baby does.

How was the MW Gary?

OP posts:
wavesandsmiles · 04/07/2013 08:55

Oh my gosh, I can't believe the length of journey that you will have kitten I am spoiled not living on the mainland. Hospital is 5 minutes from my house, worst case 15 in "rush hour" traffic.... I also have a super big car for musical instrument transport so could quite easily give birth in it with a couple of helpers/photographers/ interested passers by also inside without it being squashed.

Hopefully it won't come to that. Today I'm off to visit mum who was admitted to hospital yesterday, then off to see DD's class assembly at school.

Hope you are all well Smile

StuckOnARollercoaster · 04/07/2013 10:22

That is a very long journey kitten - I've heard of people checking into nearby hotels especially if the hospital doesn't admit you the first time you turn up with contractions - is that something you may have to do?

Waves you're an islander! Am imagining some lovely tourist destination...

Gary - hope you had a good appointment and little one is getting into position. Have you seen the threads on here about spinning babies and the things you can do to encourage your baby into the right position for birth?

Mrs Bri that's a shame yours isn't disappearing... Mine must be the stress - I have a boyfriend and mum that are individually helping me but winding each other up so you can cut the tension in the house with a knife. I'm desperately trying to get back to full speed so I can send mum home... That said although the belly has flattened its this really weird soft squishy consistency - my actual tummy muscles seem to have completely disappeared, not looking forward to the sit ups I'm going to have to do to regain them!

Daisy seems to now be asleep - time to see if it's a deep one or she's just teasing and is just quite happy being snuggled on the boob!

Hooya · 04/07/2013 23:49

Hello all - it's Friday!

MrsBri I am worried about the weight thing too, but I've seen friends go from huge a few weeks post-partum to incredible a few months later - I would try not to worry too much! That said I want as much of my weight gone as possible before I go back to work in Dec, so it's going to be a tough road...

Stuck hope the family tensions ease soon! Super stressful time I imagine!

Kitten good luck with the car. I guess the sports car journey would make a good story for DC one day though!

GBT how was the midwife appointment? And when are we supposed to be able to tell which way up the baby is - I have no clue except when the doc tells me??

waves ha ha at your car / birthing vehicle complete with photographers!

Hi to all I missed! I'm good this week, though not looking forward to cleaning out the last of the cupboards this weekend, so tedious except for the bit when I get to look at the tiny baby clothes

I forgot to say before, I freaked a bit on Tuesday as I realised my baby will come out exactly 10 weeks from that date! So now I definitely have less than 10 weeks to go... ooh!

Pineapple80 · 07/07/2013 14:04

Hey Stuck, my belly is soft and squishy too but also very glad it also has gone flat since having DS. Have been reading up on abdominal exercises and apparently for me post c-section I'm able to start some gentle "Ab wake-ups" by gently pulling belly button back to spine whilst lying down flat on my back. It's meant to slowly help reconnect & stimulate the ab muscles.

I'm so jealous of the summer over there! Not that our Aussie winters are so bad but I'd love to be at the park having a BBQ right now instead of this soggy weather & staying indoors!

Hope you're all well ladies & taking care Smile x

Kittenkatzen · 08/07/2013 07:35

waves you just made me laugh with the picture of you giving birth in the back of a car surrounded by an entourage of well-wishers/random paparazzi Grin very envious of you having everything so local! Hope your mum is ok and nothing too serious Thanks

Hadn't thought of checking into a hotel stuck, guess that's something to consider. To be fair though its only the birthing centre that is that far away and I would have thought they'd be more willing to let me stay? If we end up at the hospital then that's only 30-45 mins away.

Hi to everyone I've missed, hope you're all enjoying the sunshine (and hope the rain goes away for you soon pineapple!)

wavesandsmiles · 08/07/2013 14:54

I'm getting a bit nervous now. In around 9 hours time i reach 37 weeks, and full term..... A little panicked would be an understatement. Trying to focus, hoping to listen properly to the natal hypnotherapy cd later on, and write a bit of a script to share with my doula.

Period type pains the past few days with increasingly strong Braxton hicks so my body is definitely gearing up for things. Am going to bribe my DCs with promises of ice cream if they give me a back rub after school!

Pineapple80 · 08/07/2013 15:03

Thinking of you Waves! And sending u some calming vibes. Smile

Kittenkatzen · 09/07/2013 07:22

Ooh waves that's exciting, time for us to dig out those pompoms maybe?! Come on little acrobat, your mummy wants to stop vomming now Smile

GaryBuseysTeeth · 09/07/2013 21:01

Ooh waves, how you feeling today? Did you bribe them into back rubs?

MW apt was cancelled (by them, again) so saw another lady yesterday. No longer breech (think I felt him turn) and I'm really comfortable atm, having a mad burst of energy!
Hooya, it's just by prodding & comparing to how this feels to DS, also, apparently with the doppler if hb is more audible above belly button head is up that way, hb under bellybutton head is that way (no idea how true it is).
Cannot believe how quickly your due date is getting here! Shock

Stuck, how are things? Still tense?

at everyone else, hope a good & sunny weekend was had by all!

notsoold · 09/07/2013 21:14

Waved how are things???

Kittenkatzen · 10/07/2013 06:26

One of the September ladies posted a link to this on fb yesterday, thought you girls might like it too - I think it's bloody brilliant Grin

wavesandsmiles · 10/07/2013 08:48

Morning everyone, I had a rough evening with pretty strong cramps and BH contractions and kids were great with the old back rubs. I knew it wasn't "it" kind of the same way I knew before I PIAR that I actually was upduffed... But my body is certainly getting set. Managed to sleep after a long bath and then putting lavender oil on my pillow. DCs are at school now, and I am planning a quiet day. Must try and do some music practise ready for a long set (1.5 hours) at a local music festival on Saturday. Tempted to paint my bump with the festival logo or just let DD get creative.

How's everyone getting on?

notsoold · 11/07/2013 16:22

Waves...my pompoms are at ready!!!
I am so tired after nursing our dog back to health. She get some sort of virus every summer and was very poorly for the last 3 days and only turned a corner this morning ... Managed to sleep 3 hours every 24 hours. So 9hours in 3 days.

I am 25 weeks now!!!! Getting happier everyday!!

Pineapple80 · 11/07/2013 18:18

Notsoold - yay for 25 wks! How time flies, I'm so pleased you're happy & before u know it you'll be next in line to be cheered on with pom poms! SmileSmileSmile

Waves - hope all is well for you and u get to practise for your music festival on the weekend!

Gary - hope u continue to feel well! That is good news that baby has turned around too Smile

All going fine here. Just up at the moment feeding DS. He has been well, a bit unsettled for the last 24hrs and sleeping an hour or hour & half at a time & feeding furiously! Has been tiring bit heard this may be a growth spurt...

Wishing everyone well!
