Hi Everyone!! It seems like ages since I have posted! I have a SERIOUS phobia of spiders and one was spotted right next to the computer so really I am very uncomfortable sitting here.

Sounds like everybody is doing pretty well, YellowFeathers, has everything with the house move settled down?

Arabica I just want to say I was thinking about what you have been through and I really admire that you seem to be handling it well. And I hope BB does the trick! :) I am undecided yet whether I will allow myself to get hooked this year although I do almost every year anyway.

Been having a really hard time sleeping due to bump getting bigger and Alex kicking hard all night! Me and Salamander also booked our NCT courses for July, I am really excited about that. And I too have my first Anti-D in early June...

Olivo & all other RHneg mums out there - do any of your partners know whether they are RHneg or not? Salamander thinks he is but we dont know for sure so we are still getting the injections.

eenywifemum · 18/05/2006 12:44

Frodofitz - from about 11 weeks I was on bed rest from docs orders, then around 16 weeks I could come off bed rest but am still home on docs orders. So I really can sympathise. Even though I know I cant help it, and I know it is best for me and the baby, I still feel guilty, like 'I could be earning money' because I am only on SSP which isnt much.

Lately I am much better but still get very very sick if I overdue it so am not going to be returning to work because I can not work full time and my stupid employer refuses to let me cut my hours. So I try to enjoy it as much as I can, do as much housework as I can so I feel useful etc.

But the first few months I was signed off I was so ill I couldnt even get out of bed for more than an hour at a time so really I did nothing at all!! My husband who is on the board sometimes as Salamander, is a godsend - he totally looked after me. Although he doesnt want me(us!) to have any more babies as I will have this each time I am pregnant and he cant stand watching it.

It is really hard having poor health while you are pregnant but still I have to say it is the best thing I have ever done and I couldnt be happier!! WELL I WILL be happier when he finally arrives!

frodofitz · 18/05/2006 12:56

Thanks for that Chloe & eenywifemum, been busying myself with housework today although sleep is crappy, would like a lie in but can't sleep past 7 and although would like a nap during the day brain is on overload.

To be honest i think sometimes you know you need the time on your own but get desperate to fill it up so your not thinking or worrying. It's a vicious circle.
My friend came round from work last night and made me feel better about stuff though, my boss hasn't had children and very hard faced, but i had a message passed on that she was thinking of me and sent her LOVE!!!...she could have sent me a bloody text message or a phonecall.
I worry too much about what people think of me, hopefully next couple of months will be full of dread and won't have time to think about everyone else...bring on the bambino!

PinkTulips · 18/05/2006 13:32

hello frodofritz, and welcome Smile

eeny, thats sounds so horrible pet, i was out of work during my first preg and i almost went mad with nothing to do, can't imagine how annoying it must be to be sick too and not be able to keep yourself busy... sending you big hugs {{{{hug}}}}. at least salamander sounds like a total sweetie!

Yellow (figured i'd better switch from calling you nbg now or i never willWink)- hope you have a fab time tonight, i'll be thinking of you and your bump having a ball at take that while i'm plonked on the couch watching BB (coz lets face it, i won't be able to resist!)

is it just me or wasn't the show where they put them all in the house longer last year? only seems to be on for an hour tonight.

olivo · 18/05/2006 13:42

eeny - my dh went for a blood test once we found out that i was rh neg and he is rh positive, so i do have to have them. might be worth getting his blood group tested so you can get the prophalactic (sp?) injections at 28 and 34 weeks if you need them.

frodo - sorry othear you're having a bad time and being off and things. There are days when i honestly wish i wasnt working as i'm shattered but it must be a nightmare being told you have to stay at home/in bed so I know I shouldnt complain. and dont worry what other people think.

frodofitz · 18/05/2006 13:49

Thanks PinkTulips. My friend introduced me to this and said how supportive everyone was and she talks to her group all the time even though her little one is 4 months old. Finding it really useful nd don't feel such a fraud when i know other people are going through similar things.
xx

trix1 · 18/05/2006 20:39

Good evening all, why have you changed your name NBG - i was wondering who yellow was then seen the thread refering to NBG - so confusing for me, i miss not being able to log on as much now that im back at work full time.

i hope you are all well - 27 weeks now, remeber when we were at 6 & 7 weeks getting through those first weeks together, it has gone quick hasn't it. Is anyone else going on holiday before the baby is due?

Im having my anti D on the 01st June too, so if it is painful we will all be feeling it (those who are having in the 1st)

Take care and i will catch up with you soon

frodofitz · 18/05/2006 20:57

Hi there Trix, just got back off our hols last week. Went to Costa De LA Luz, basically a resort for the almost dead and infirm...that's really cruel isn't it!! No sorry it was lovely but there was a LOT of old people. It did the job though, very relaxing and would recomend to anyone going at this stage of pregnancy....was absolutely dreading being the big mamma on the beach and everyone else being bronzed and skinny however i chose the right location with not an inch of beach babe in sight!
Be careful when your in the sun, the first 2 days were very cloudy and not really that warm but still burnt quite badly. Lather on the lotion, i didn't believe people when they said 'you will tan really easily' but honestly it's true...i have strap marks everywhere and a hand print on my leg....very classy!

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 11:22

COME ON EVERYBODY, SING..

"Everything changes but you, la la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa la la la la laaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Grin Grin Grin

Yes I had a fab time and my my, how those boys have aged well Grin
Fantastic concert, well it was more of a show tbh but utterly amazing!
Baby kicked like mad throughout Beverley Knights act but her voice was so strong and clear, he then had a rest and decided he quite liked a dance part in Take Thats performance so I have another little music fan on my hands! I danced like a total maniac and screamed my sad little head off but there you go Blush Grin

Didn't have a good start to the day though. Had my MW appt in the morning and had my bloods done, well silly me went and passed out in the MW's room! Good job I had dh with me. Then we had to go and put petrol in the car and because dh didn't have his wallet with him I had to go and pay, got out the car and felt myself going again so dh had to sit me in the middle of the garage forecourt with him stood behind me propping me up, lol! I got some great looks off people but a lovely man ran in to the shop and bought me a bottle of water and dh bundled me back in the car and took me home.
What a morning!

Hi to Frodofitz!, It was my dh who is the Barnsley fan [sigh]. Hoping they don't win next Saturday otherwise I won't hear the last of it!

Hope everyone else is well Smile

PinkTulips · 19/05/2006 11:31

lol yellow, pmsl at the image of you sat in the middle of the petrol station! Grin did you ask the mw about the BHs?

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 11:37

It was a grand sight I can tell you! I'd taken my maternity top off too and all I had on underneath was a little vest so I had my bump out all over!

Yes, asked about BH's and she said it was nothing to worry about and that 2nd pregnancies feel them more because of loosened muscle tone. She said they can trigger if you've been busy or stood up a while which I have been and to take a bath or shower to ease them.
Also the grinding pain which I thought was the baby kind of was as he was quite low down but he had his head above my left leg IYSWIM but the grinding is the cartilidge thats right infront of the pubic bone that rubs. She said to try and keep legs together as much as possible so like when you get out the car don't get one leg out then the other, bring them both out together and even going up stairs, she said try and go up backwards on my bum! Annoying but she said it can make all the difference!

olivo · 19/05/2006 11:40

yellow- v Envy ( of the take that, not the petrol station incident!!

having a panic as I've just eaten a piece of the most delicious cake, only to realise that the icing has raw egg whites in it - i KNOW i'm being over-paranoid but it's totally taken the fun out of eating nice cake!!

and someone has had the audacity ot leave a chunky kit kat in the staff room fridge and expect me not to eat it!!! grrrrrr.....

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 11:48

Outrageous Olivo!
How dare they!
I think you should eat it to teach them a lesson Wink

PinkTulips · 19/05/2006 11:50

wish i had your midwife, she sounds super helpful!

i'm so f-ing tired today its killing me, dp and i had a massive fight last night Sad and was up til 1.30 coz of that, and of course missy wanted to be up at 6 this morning. feel like i'm going to collapse i'm so shattered, can't get up the energy to do anything and i have a ton of housework to tackle.

i wouldn't worry too much olivo, the chances of there being anything in the egg is really remote so you'll be fine, big hugs anyway though {{{hug}}} panicing about everything drives me up the wall too.

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 11:54

They are fab PT. I just hope I get ones just as good when we move.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about the cake Olivo. You'll be fine Smile
(btw, I'm trying to get you a bumper bag of kitkat chunkys. My nan has a card for the outsales shop in York so she can buy a big bag of them for a £1 or something ridiculous. I'll let you know when she gets them)

katylou25 · 19/05/2006 12:06

Hi everyone

Haven't posted for ages and has taken me over an hour to catch up with all the news!

We're supposedly moving next friday so am trying to pack boxes with a tummy the size of a beacyh ball and an ever so helpful!! 16 month DS who thinks its hilarious to take things out of boxes as quickly as I put them in!

Had a check up with midwife yesterday and am now worried baby is going to be massive! Am measuring for 29 weeks instead fo 26 although dating scan spot on at 12 weeks - and when measurements plotted next to DS's (who was no tiddler at 9lb 9oz) am weel on track for an 11lb monster boy!

She said that if i'm still measuring large at 30 weeks will have to have another scan with the possibilty of C/S or induction at 36 weeks. Anyway fingers crossed he's just had a growth spurt and will now revert to normal size! Can't face idea of C/S with a toddler and no family around for support - even the thought of it wears me out!

Anyway sorry this turned into a bit of an essay

Hope everyone else is ok

Oh and v v Envy of take that concert - did you still know every word of every song - am fairly certain I do Blush

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 12:09
Grin Yes I did but I had been listening to the greatest hits for weeks on end!

11lb Shock Thats amazing!
You have all my sympathies with the packing and moving. I'll have it all to do in a few weeks Sad

jayjaybaby · 19/05/2006 12:19

well iwas doing a hair trial for three and a half hours lasty night and missed the launch show so got to watch at three on e4 and im allowed to watch all day and night because im not working

had a crisis this morning had my forms back for my maternity allowance and coz ive only worked for twenty four weeks and not tweny six unless i can get someone to employ me for two weeks i'll only get 60 quid a week for eight weeks rather than 110 week for six months so im now plotting a way to get employed

yellow glad you enjoyed your self im well jealous

eenywifemum · 19/05/2006 12:19

Hi Everyone! Yellow I cant believe your petrol station incident! It is rather funny but still you poor thing!! Is it just normal pregnancy dizziness? Glad you had a good time at the concert!

I had an awful nights sleep last night, as usual these days! The mountain of cushions supporting me is growing and every time I move they have to be readjusted!

pinktulips I thought the same thing about last years opening show being longer... this year there are more episodes though so maybe thats why they cut that down. God those characters are so awful!

Olivo, my husband tried to get a blood test to test his RH status and they refused him one saying it wasnt necessary as I could just have the injections either way. Annoying for me on many different levels... our GP is not always very helpful. But we are investigating other ways of finding out like donating blood etc.

Have any of you heard this: I was looking RH neg up on the net a while ago and saw that even if your husband is neg too they still prefer giving you the injections just in case you are lying about who the father is!!

I wish I had known about this board when I was 6 & 7 weeks pregnant - I REALLY could have used someone to talk to then!

Have my usual list of housework and errands to run today - most annoying of which is: I went to the post office yesterday to send a bday present to our neice and guess what? I got it in the post this morning! So I have to go back to the post office and explain the difference between 'From' and 'To'!

eenywifemum · 19/05/2006 12:21

jayjay that's awful!! how are you going to get employed that quickly? Good luck!!

YellowFeathers · 19/05/2006 12:24

Oh no Jayjay!

I'm still waiting for mine to come back.

olivo · 19/05/2006 13:01

eeny - I'd heard that too - my doctor said that apparently there have been incidences where the father ( or so he thought!) wasnt the father and it caused some problems.and embarrassing explanations!! they did my did my dhs blood test but then , we pay for docs appts and tests and stuff here so they are unlikely to refuse!! (fortunately, my doctor is also lovely - she must be to put up with my constant anxieties!! and i was 100 per cent sure of the baby's parentage Wink Grin)

would your dhs family know his blood group from when he was younger?

Grin at your parcel!!

jayjay - niightmare! have you got a friend/relative or someone who can employ you for a few weeks?

yellow- just off down to the fridge to see if the kit kat is still lurking!!Wink

eenywifemum · 19/05/2006 14:29

Olivo - So glad for you that you are happy with your Doctor - that is so nice! I am originally from America where we pay (with insurance) for medical things as well so it can be frustrating for me when I cant get info I want. But of course we do pay for the nhs - in taxes and NI but that's another topic altogether! On the whole I am really happy with the care we get. Salamanders family are unsure - his Mum just remembers his blood type is 'an odd one' so that could be RH neg! But he remembers being told when he was really little that he was. So we'll see! I can just have the injections anyway but it would be nice to know.

I am so happy, we finally got broadband today so I can sit on here guilt free!! No more huge phone bills!
