Micku5 · 16/05/2006 19:48

Hi all, had my scan today to check on the baby's kidneys and it's within normal range now (phew). It looks like my dd got her wish and we are having another girl Smile just need to find all the boxes of things that we packed up for her and fingers crossed the builders will have finished the nursery by August.

melsy · 16/05/2006 20:02

aww lovely micku5 about girl, glad everything ok.

Snowboo ,did they give you any tips on how to get baby moving away from the position? Innit grand being a football widow, YUCH I hate it all; the noise, the pretentious chat, I just dont get it!!!!. Not a good year it being world cup hey , but them there dh's are to blame aswill for our predicament!!!!

Managed to get round a shopping centre today , have avoided them for months , but had to go accessory shopping with client. Was dreading it , as didnt think Id be able to do it withought getting stressed and out of breath ,but it was quite enjoyable. DD was at nursury so was also good to get out like that withought her, but boy am I zapped from it now,as now Im giddy and out of breath. Suppose the excersise cant have hurt !!! OOh and I got a bag of almond dark chocolate from Hotel chocolate out of it.

jayjaybaby · 17/05/2006 11:03

babylily · 17/05/2006 12:51

oh wow. I need one of those scans!
So bighotmama - can you see any family resemblance?

Has anyone had their 28 week anti-d yet? I've got mine next week and remember it being really painful last time.

still only got a teeny wee bump - with dd I was immense by this stage. Depending on what I'm wearing I sometimes barely look pregnant at all. At last mw appointment I measured 21 rather than 25 cm. Don't know if I should be worried about this or not.
can't believe only got 12/13 wks to go.

Spoke to someone the other day who was told she was having a girl but it turned out to be a boy..... hmmmm.

Arabica · 17/05/2006 13:30

That's just happened to a friend of mine--sonographer said girl, but it was a boy! She was a bit surprised but very happy.
I've got my MRI date (it's on Monday) so I won't get a pic of the whole baby, but I WILL (eventually) see what the inside of its brain looks like.
I'm lucky in that I am not getting kicked in the ribs, mine are usually really low down with the occasional high-up can-can kick to keep me on my toes!

olivo · 17/05/2006 13:51

BHM - that is soooo cool!

having a grumpy day today, pain in my shoulder, been awake since 2.30am, dh still grumping about with his bad leg and me running round trying to do everything in the house.

and a shocking amount of work to do this week
Angry

glad you have your scan date arabica.

babylily · 17/05/2006 14:14

arabica I hope that monday brings you some positive news.

I can definitely feel the pitter patter of little feet on my bladder. Keeps reminding me to do my pelvic floor exercises though!

BigHotMama · 17/05/2006 14:53

Afternoon ladies, hope your all feeling ok. Smile
Thanks for the link NBG, your a star!
Babylilly, the only resemblance I can see is a pug nose and chubby cheeks but a lot of babs have those features anyway so still no clue who it looks like lol.
Good news on your scan Micku5!
Am squinting at the fact Snowboo's baby is big 'un, they couldnt measure mine at the scan as only 4d. Hoping mine will be a 6lb'er like I was, I know its gonna hurt but the thought of episiotomy makes me cringe.

Good luck for your scan Arabica x

Olivo, tell your DH to get a grip, men just dont know understand what us women go through! They should really be pampering us to the max at this stage. My dh is glad to be getting rid of me for a night so he can get a decent nights sleep without my snoring lol. Just hope my mate who I'm sharing a room with at Spa has got her ear plugs ready! Blush

PinkTulips · 17/05/2006 18:46

BHM- he's such a cutie! i love the little pudgy cheeks, he looks like a newborn already.

congrats on the little girl Micku, looks like you'll save a fortune in baby clothes you lucky thing.

nbg, how are you feeling today, did you manage to get in touch with the midwife or are you still waiting til tomorrow?

just had my gp appointment and LO is definitely head down so hopefully he won't take it into his head to move between now and d-day. does mean he's kicking me right in the ribs though, got me so hard twice yeaterday i actually heard his little foot thudding off my rib cage!

i must be the only one whos dp couldn't care less about the football, i'm far more likely to be sat in front of it than he is, i never really watch it except when holland or ireland are involved, then i go a bit mental Blush at least i wont have the agony of watching them play each other this time, i'm usually in tears at the end of those games!

YellowFeathers · 17/05/2006 19:05

Hi all.
Had a mega stressful day today involving the house. It very nearly fell through. I got really upset about it all and had a good cry but that made dh really cross, turned into the protective husband bless him so he went out and bought me a bunch of flowers and that gorgeous choc pudding thing thats on the M&S ad atm!
It's only just been resolved though so I hope to god we don't have to have another day like this!

Micku5, glad to hear the scan was ok. You must feel so relieved now!

SnowBoo, great to hear your scan was good too although I hope your baby makes an early appearance if he/shes a big un!

Arabica, glad to hear your scan date has come through too. Not too long to wait.

BHM, Envy of your 2 day pampering. I want one!

PinkT, my dh is a bit of an Ireland supporter. We've got plenty of the tops anyway! His team Barnsley got through to the final play offs on Monday so atm he's trying to get the day off when they play a week on Saturday!

As for the BH's they're still coming strong and they've been worse today but I'm putting that down to stress. I see the MW tomorrow morning so I'll be bombarding her with Q's!

frodofitz · 17/05/2006 19:42

Evening all, new to mumsnet so struggling a bit with the abbreviations (found the list)
Due my hope to be boy.. as that is what the hospital has told us however the horror stories of mis-diagnosis of sex is freaking me out-especially every time i walk into the cost ridden nursey...12th August!

Is everyone now ready for bed or is it just me that is trying to win power race for the most sleep?

jayjaybaby · 17/05/2006 20:14

frodofitz · 17/05/2006 20:47

Thanks for the welcome...what is an anti d? sorry you will have to bear with me til i'm up to scratch...about 6 months!

frodofitz · 17/05/2006 20:52

Talk about weather dh wanted to give me some time to myself so has gone fishing! He's gonna be bloody soaked and hungry and i will will tucked up lovely and warm in bed, plus that last time he went was when he was about 12 so i can't imagine him coming back doing a Hugh Fearnely!...silly sod!
Did i hear someones hub/partner is a Barnsley fan...here too, well brother dh is a spurs fan. I get to hear it all.

olivo · 17/05/2006 20:55

jayjay - my first anti d is on 1st june too - have heard that its in your leg or bum but apparently it doesnt hurt too much ( but i bet it does!!)i'm really nervous...

frodo - anti d is what you get if your blood is rhesus negative - 2 injections pre-birth and one after, if I've read correctly!

frodofitz · 17/05/2006 21:03

Ah that would be why i haven't been told about them...i'm figuring if you don't know to ask you won't get the info. Full stop!

Arabica · 17/05/2006 23:52

Anti-D goes into your bottom or thigh and I didn't find it painful, but then injections/having blood taken doesn't stress me out in general--am I weird? I had anti-D after my amnio and I could barely feel it but then again I do have a nicely padded bum!

jayjaybaby · 18/05/2006 07:59

bhm my hubby and bro are in love with your baby and now the dh is even more excited about the scan and im getting more nervous thats its gonna be a girl its making me really crabby

is any one snoring louder and more than normal

yellow feathers/ nbg i aint talking to you but have a good time tonite

big bro starts tonite im so excited and im gonna watch it all day every day oh my god

olivo · 18/05/2006 08:36

that's reassuring Arabica - i'm not that stressed by blood/injections ( as long as i dont look!) but i had visions of this one being big and scary!! at least i have plenty of padding too ...Grin

olivo · 18/05/2006 08:37

big brother - I cant believe you confessed to that jayjay!!Grin

frodofitz · 18/05/2006 08:59

I have an awful feeling i'm going to have to watch BB just to know what your all talking about! Watched first 2 or 3 from being about 6 left...not too bad...but seriously what do they do all day?
Is anyone at home on docs orders...finding it a bit hard with the ups and downs of hormones....

Arabica · 18/05/2006 09:59

Another BB fan here. Just what I need to take my mind off all the worrying stuff.

olivo · 18/05/2006 10:23

oh no! I'm going to be the only one who doesnt understand the conversations you have!! Maybe I'll watch the weekly update ones so i dont feel left out!!

Chloe55 · 18/05/2006 12:05

Fodofitz - sorry to hijack but if you are struggling with the ups/downs there are some really helpful threads on antenatal depression - this was one that helped me when I felt low \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2290&threadid=121845&stamp=060314164427\HTH}
