Morning all

So glad things are more positive Arabica and you have more information.

My Braxtons are quite painful this pregnancy, not sure if its due to being the 2nd or not?? I have say may be 4-5 in one day ,and then have to go loo each time. Well have to check in and see what they say to you NBG.

Anyone starting to wake a lot during the night to go loo ? Im so tired by the morning, as up 2-3 times a night and thinking too much to get back to sleep easily.

It was quite lovely here yeseterday afternoon, but If i sit in the sun at the mo , I get a right awful head.

Another one who favoured the TENS, My mum had to peel my hands off the remote thingy , as I was crying I didnt want it removed, even though was being prepped for epidural!!! It really did help until then, but as I was having the barbaric syntocin , then I had to have epidural.

Pucca , also started training 4wks ago, dd now 2.8mths and wees successful eventual after using my floor as the loo over and over , but not no2's , either in knickers or dawn in nappy , she just wont do them on the loo, its very gggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

melsy · 14/05/2006 09:27

oh yes forgot to say. Ive weighed myself this morning and it seems Im averaging 2lbs a week on YUCK. So if 14wks left EEEEKKKK, Ill be huge again by the end Sad. I put on 4stone last time, and got to nearly 13st Sad. Although this time I started on 7st 11lbs, Im now 9st 5lbs , I cant seem to count up the increase this morning, what a der I am these days. Anyone ????

Arabica · 14/05/2006 13:32

I put on nearly 5st last time if that is any consolation! The first 2st came off pretty easily and then I lost the rest at Slimming World, which I can really recommend as the diet is totally sensible and doesn't restrict your portions too much.
This time around I've put on about 2st so far, but I'm not really counting--I need to be kind to myself and accept that sometimes I will need to fall back onto old methods of coping, ie, comfort-eating, when my fears about the baby's health get too much and I want to blot them out.

NingNangTakethat · 14/05/2006 13:49

Nicely put Arabica Smile
I have no idea how much I've put on and tbh I really don't care.
I know some of it will come off naturally and the rest I'll just have to work at. If I can't shift it I plan to do weight watchers as I know it works for me.

As I remember I didn't eat hardly anything for the first 2 weeks when dd was born. Never felt as though I had the time, lol!

Don't worry about it Melsy. Whatever will be will be. Weight does come off. Better to have a healthy pg than starve yourself Smile

NingNangTakethat · 14/05/2006 13:52

(tis Nbg btw Grin)

PinkTulips · 14/05/2006 14:14

trix- i get quite severe rib pain too, broke 2 ribs about 2 years before getting pregnant with dd and tore an intercostel muscle the year before that, all that combined with the fact that my rib cage expanded from a 34 to a 40 last time, and has exeeded that already this time, means i feel like someone is stabbing a knife into one side of my rib cage alot of the time.Sad the only thing i can recommend is ditch the bras and any restricting tops as the slightest pressure can aggravate it and when you sit down in the evening make sure you get yourself into a comfy position propped up with loadsa pillows.

can relate to the not eating after baby comes nbg, everytime i tried to put food in my mouth for the first month dd started crying and i had to run and get her, only food i ate were things my dp made for me while i was bf-ing and even that she took exception to most days, i think most of the weight i lost after the birth was during those weeks!

olivo · 14/05/2006 14:28

hi everyone! just come back from doing the Race for Life and am absolutely whacked!! my friends abandoned me as I couldnt walk fast enough and i ended up finishing with the last few - even the elderly ladies being pushed in their wheelchairs by their carers were ahead of me!Blush
still, it was a massive personal challenge for me and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself - just strange to think that his time last year i ran it and this time next year i might be doing it with a pushchair!!beautiful day here again but loads of work to do Angry

re the weight gain, I've now hidden the scales as my kit kat habit has increased Shock Grin

and melsy - yes! loo at least 3 times a night and wake up feeling just as tired as when i went to bed!!

Arabica · 14/05/2006 15:25

Congratulations Olivo. I've done the RFL twice--fantastic atmosphere. I remember some of the things people had written on their race labels made me feel tearful, all those women participating in memory of relatives and friends they'd lost. I'm going to be running it next year, for sure!
re loo trips, I woke up this morning at 6am having almost wet myself Blush, the baby was dancing on my bladder I think!

jayjaybaby · 15/05/2006 04:55

NingNangTakethat · 15/05/2006 10:37

Wow, that does sound like a good weekend Jayjay. Am quite jealous Envy

Olivo, Well done you!!! What an acheivement! I'm lucky if I can run up the stairs let alone a proper race.
Go and treat yourself with a KitKat Grin

PinkT, That sounds really painful. Isn't there anything you can take or do to help ease the pain?

I'm in a foul mood today. DD decided in her wisdom to wake up at 1:30am and not bother going back to sleep till 5am Angry Everytime her music cd's finished she'd be back in our room wanting it on again, all teary. So I didn't get a wink of sleep last night and to top it off I ended up pulling a muscle in my calf getting out of bed and have a banging headache.
So I am self pitying myself!

SnowBoo · 15/05/2006 10:41

I can't keep up with you all!

Well the pain in my ribs is getting worse by the day, i can't sleep at night and have ds all day so no chance of a break! Dh has been moaning about the state of the house (i put this down to the fact that he has given up smoking!) I keep crying at any given opportunity but on the bright side i have another scan tomorrow to see my baby! And both dh and ds are coming to see him. Very excited (again).

Only craving is for soap still.

PinkTulips · 15/05/2006 12:00

glad somebody else had a shitty nights sleep. had really bad heartburn all night and on top of the bedroom was swelteringly hot. lay there awake for most of the night until dd came in with me at 6.30 then dozed for an hour and had the worst dreams. so tired now i could cry Sad

nbg- not much i can do, they couldn't do anything for me when i got the injuries except give me painkillers and even that isn't an option now, at least i know this time it eases pretty much instantly after the birth, cheer myself up my taking it out on dp, it is all his fault after all!

really hoping this lo is a boy though so i won't be tempted to put myself through all this again!

YellowFeathers · 15/05/2006 12:06

I plan on having a nap this afternoon!

I have BIL and SIL coming for tea tonight so I have to prep that although I'm only doing Fajitas so not 3 course meal at least!

(Its Nbg btw. This is my new name from now on and no I'm not pissed KG Grin)

kitegirl · 15/05/2006 12:06

I bet you are on the sauce

kitegirl · 15/05/2006 12:07

AGAIN

kitegirl · 15/05/2006 12:11

I need to think of a clever new name now as well.

is anyone else feeling REALLY uncomfortable?! Backache, hipache, headache, legache, even my toes are aching. Digging in the garden all they yesterday obviously didn't help - I could barely walk up the stairs in the evening. AND THERE'S STILL THREE MONTHS TO GO!!! I've always been of the school that 'pregnancy is not an illness' but have to face the reality and from now on, spend my weekends reclining on the sofa while dh does all childcare and waits on me hand and foot. Grin And look, there's a herd of pigs flying.... Grin

PinkTulips · 15/05/2006 12:24

lol kitegirl, we should start a support thread for pregnant woman with worse than useless dp/h's! mine manages to make it sound like he's doing me a favour taking the bl*dy bin out! chances of him doing anything more substantial rank far below the chances of pigs flying!

feel like an 80 year old shuffling around most of the time these days, and lord knows it only gets more exhausting when they come out!

eenywifemum · 15/05/2006 12:24

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Well done Olivo for doing the race! That is so impressive!! I couldnt do that non-pregnant!

I am worrying about the weight gain as well but am trying not to dwell on it too much in my 'I'll think about that tomorrow' kind of way! And I have also been in loads of pain lately, enough that today I have cancelled plans I was really looking forward to as last night was so bad I need to just rest today. Everything hurts! And add to that being a human trampoline...

aprilgirl1 · 15/05/2006 13:28

well the 3d scan was the most amazing experience, i saw the babys face so clear, so annoying that i can see 'him' on the screen and cant get my hands on 'him' to give him a cuddle , the experience made being pregnant seem so so real, the baby was so active and has the biggest chubbest cheeks ever , i was well impressed.. was well worth the money!!

eenywifemum · 15/05/2006 13:42

Aprilgirl that is so cool!!! I am so happy for you!! I would love to get a 3d scan like that. Did you get pics and things to take away??

aprilgirl1 · 15/05/2006 13:51

about 25 pics, 20 min dvd was amazing sure its aboy just looks like a boy not a girl 13 weeks til i know for sure, have another scan in 4 weeks to find out if placenta has moved so i can have normal birth, hope it has x

jayjaybaby · 15/05/2006 14:20

well im having a rite shitty day i've just found out someone who i met has died really suddenly and im really upset and i just told my dh and he didnt like her and he was really unsympathetic men are such twats
Sad Shock

kitegirl · 15/05/2006 14:35

wow aprilgirl that's amazing! Really tempted to have one now myself. Could you not tell for certain if it was a boy or a girl? Really sweet what you wrote about wanting to give him a cuddle.

aprilgirl1 · 15/05/2006 14:44

no you cant tell for sure... and everyone else ive showed the dvd to say you cant tel what it is... just im convinced this is a little boy, honest if you get the chance to have one done it is highly recomended by me Grin
