Nbg, I havent experienced anything like that but it must have been pretty scary. Was last night the first time that has happened? I cant lay on my left side for some reason as my bump hurts quite badly when I am on that side. I dont know why that would be but it is irritating! Also, congrats on the possible new pushchair!! That sounds great!

JayJay I am with you on the freebee thing! I want another Bounty pack but am not sure if you get more past this stage?? Hope so.

SnowBoo I think I am sufferring with that stretching rib syndrome! My whole bump and ribs just feel so... stretched! haha its pretty uncomfortable.

Pink Tulips, you are so lucky getting into a size 10 top! I'm happy for you though as that must have been such a high!

It's another glorious day today - I wish it would stay like this all the time!! With the occasional rainy day thrown in for good measure.

olivo · 11/05/2006 12:32

got confirmation of my nursey place yesterday so am feeling relieved - it was my first choice as it is only open term time.

jjbaby - was wondering when the next boots thing would come - i await my huggies set with anticipation - like the rest of you, I love a freebie!Grin

off to my 2nd antenatal class tonight, all alone as dh is housebound Angry

sorry to hear about your back nbg - hope it improves soon.

jayjaybaby · 11/05/2006 13:51

aprilgirl1 · 11/05/2006 14:23

going for my 3d scan at 4 so excited... wouldnt have been to pleased to have seen the little mite this morning, been up 'all night' ( i mean all night ) with leg cramps and the little bugger kicking me in the ribs totally shatttered, at oe point i asked 'him' please let mammy have a little bit sleep... he didnt isten... think i have a trouble maker on my hands guys... watch out!!!

eenywifemum · 11/05/2006 15:07

Aprilgirl, have fun at your scan!!! I really really wanted one but havent booked it for various reasons. A friend got one though and she LOVED it!! My boy in the bump was keeping me up as well - not all night so I really feel for you there, but he kicks so hard he wakes me up, and then he wont stop going and I cant get back to sleep! changing position doesnt seem to put him off!

Jayjay, I wish I would tan a little! I am so pale and I dont mind but I'd love to get a little colour on my legs! Its a hopeless cause with me though!

BigHotMama · 11/05/2006 15:09

Jayjay are you trying to rub it in or what? Wish I was getting fried in the sun, feel so pale and freckly! Am gonna try catch you up tomorrow ha!

Aprilgirl, all the best for your scan and come back on and let us know how it all went, bet your so excited seeing your little baba for the 1st time...got 2 days for mine now!

I wish I could own my bed at the mo as my lifesize pilloe is wedged in between me and DH so I hardly get any room, think DH feels little left out as hug this pillow every night and he dont get a look-in lol Wink.

Olivo, what do you teach then? I could do with a lesson in bathing the baby as I aint got a clue what you do? Have seen a fab little blow up float thingy you put in bath which baby sits in and it supports the baby and only £14 form JoJo Maman Bebe. Anyone tried it?

olivo · 11/05/2006 16:22

I'm really a languages teacher but we do a GCSE in Child Development so i do some of that - I love it and hope to do more when I come back from Mat leave. I liked the look of the jojomaman one as well - am waiting for a parcel from them!

enjoy your scan aprilgirl.

I'm off to catch the last couple of hours of sun before antenatal classes!

AGJ · 11/05/2006 16:48

Hi all

Please can I become another new member of the group! I am expecting my first baby due on 9th August - a girl. This seems like a good place to speak to other people about pregnancy stuff!
I had a 3D scan at 24 weeks & it was amazing being able to see my baby's face!

Nbg · 11/05/2006 19:15

PinkTulips · 11/05/2006 20:25

hello agj, we have the same date! Smile pretty certain mine is completely wrong but nevermind! is this your first baby?

jay jay, í know exactly what you mean about enjoying lazing around getting a tan, never been so brown so early in the year coz i've always been in college or work on all the lovely days.

i gave in and measured myself with the loo roll, 8 squares, which i'm pretty sure is less than before so now i'm panicing about that!

feel sorry for all of you being kicked all night, spent a year with dd in the bed with us so i tend to sleep through anything baby gets up to, he can't possibly compete with his big sis whacking me in the face to wake me up for a feed!

AGJ · 11/05/2006 21:21

Hi PinkTulips
Yes it's my 1st baby - I just measured myself with the loo roll to compare seeing as we are due on the same date & I am 8 squares aswell so hope that makes you feel better!

pucca · 11/05/2006 21:26

Hi everyone.

Feeling a bit of a failure today, and haven't stopped crying tonight (very hormonal lol) i am trying to potty train my dd (2.4yo) and has been a disaster! feel like a bloody failure Sad and i am going through a "how am i going to cope" phase.

Actually sounds really pathetic now with writing it down, i just don't know what is a do with me at all today, suppose it is just a getting a bit of a panic on type thing...nevermind.

olivo · 11/05/2006 21:35

Oh pucca, sorry to hear you're having an off day - you will cope and we're all here for off days.

just come back from 2nd antenatal class - much better this time as we were all a bit more relaxed.

welcome agj!Smile

its kit kat time now....Wink

kitegirl · 12/05/2006 06:50

Arabica? hope you are ok.

Isn't it great it's finally summer!!! My window boxes are still alive (personal best - 3 weeks now) and one has four (4!) pink flowers. I am stubbornly ignoring the hosepipe ban and expecting our neighbours to grass me any day now.

In the supermarket two men were perving at my boobs (true, I should not wear low cut tops in my condition) until they realised I was pregnant, and looked VERY embarrassed! Tw*ts.

We've changed hospitals, I am now getting a consultant-led birth which is what I want. He looked at the scan report produced by the muppet show at Kings last time and noticed that the measurements were all wrong - according to them I have conceived an elephant as all the numbers are off the scale. Wrong due date. But, baby is still head down and very low, here's hoping he'll stay that way!

All hail paddling pools, barbeques and sunburns from now on! Enjoy your weekend ladies!

Nbg you so don't NEED a new pushchair, you know it. [strokes her new bugaboo lovingly] Grin

kitegirl · 12/05/2006 06:56

Pucca hon there's a potty training thread in the active convos at the moment which should make you feel better. Sorry you had a bad day, we all get those I am sure (I used to spend half my week in tears but it's better now), why not treat yourself to something nice? Like a new nailpolish and a celebrity mag? It's hard work cooking a baby, let's not forget that!! Smile

Arabica · 12/05/2006 08:27

Have posted about my scan result \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=49&threadid=170002&stamp=060511213210\here}
Kitegirl, are you taking about the same Kings? I was at Harris Birthright yesterday but felt v confident with them (I didn't see regular sonographer though, it was a consultant and some research fellows)

Arabica · 12/05/2006 08:28

pucca, hope things feel better for you today. I didn't train DS until he was 3, as he simply wasn't ready before that.

kitegirl · 12/05/2006 09:37

Arabica v pleased that you are feeling positive. From what I read it looks pretty good. I was scanned also at the Harris at Kings but not by a consultant, these were a bunch of med students. I know the consultants there are top of their class so you are in good hands.

olivo · 12/05/2006 11:47

Arabica - glad its sounding a bit more positive. fingers crossed for you.

Pucca- thought of you this morning as i spent about an hour in tears!(embarassingly enough at workBlush). Had to confess to my form that yes, my red eyes and red face were the result of crying, tried not to be too embarrassed - they now just have me down as a pregnant hormonal thing!! Grin just felt overwhelmed with work and the thought i have to keep it up for another 10 weeks!!

pucca · 12/05/2006 11:53

Thanks for all your replies everyone Smile

Arabica...Glad you feeling more reassured (sp?), just read your other thread and sounds like good news to me, good luck with the MRI's. xx

Olivio...God help us lol, its horrible isn't it? i wasn't this bad with my dd, atm i cry over such silly things, it does help though, i know i feel better once i have a cry. Smile.

Gonna keep going with the potty training lark, another day and all that lol, just felt like such a crap mother last night, felt like a failure, but i know it will take time, god it so hard..give me any other baby problem any day but potty training grrrr! lol.

Nbg · 12/05/2006 12:58

Afternoon Smile

I've replied on your thread Arabica. It's great news. Fingers crossed for the MRI.

KG, Has your due date changed then or is it still the same?
I think thats you and PinkT with head down babies!
Grrrr to you anyway, buying a Bugaboo! I knew you' bought a new one but not a Bugaboo Envy
Which colour did you get?
lol at the leery men Grin

PG women must be in. I had a group of men honking their horn at me last week and shouting. I was stood behind the pushchair at the time so I stopped and turned round.
They soon shut up when they saw my great big bump, lol Grin

Just a note for those of you expecting girls, Topshop have started a range of baby girls clothes called Topshop Mini. They go up to 12months and the stuff is really nice and well priced. It's online but I'm not sure what stores will stock it.

Nbg · 12/05/2006 13:00

Oh and Pucca,
Potty training really is deep breath and count to ten time Grin

Thank god we've conquered it now, well actually the potty has gone and we've gone to the toilet but she's become very miss independant as a result. Must wipe her own bum, wash hands etc!

It's not easy so lots of luck!

pucca · 12/05/2006 13:02

NBG...Did you find it difficult too then? how old was your dd when you started? it a nightmare isn't it? Smile

Nbg · 12/05/2006 13:09

Well we started back in January so she was 2.3. We still had her in pull ups for a while and then eventually we just put pants on her or she would wear nothing (she has a thing about being naked lol!)

When I stayed at my mums at the begining of last month, I left the potty at home and just kept taking her to the toilet. 2 days after that she was asking to go to the loo and thats it really.

I think it just clicks with them. I certainly think it has with dd.

Its the constant watching and being aware of that little jiggle dance thy do when they need to go!

I think Cods advice is pretty good. Just ditch the nappies and get straight in to pants. You will have accidents but it's easy to change them.
