sarahlou1uk · 09/05/2006 20:45

Hi purpleturtle and everyone else. I thought about having a home birth (for about 2 seconds) and decided against it. Can't cope with mess and dh not too keen. Also, we have thin walls where we live and don't think neighbours would appreciate me shouting and swearing in the early hours of the morning!! Fingers crossed, the birthing pool at Jessops will be free when my dd decides to make an appearance!! Grin

Arabica · 09/05/2006 21:36

10 sheets of toilet paper and 1st 10lbs here, but I've been eating really badly--having no kitchen doesn't help!

trix1 · 09/05/2006 21:42

Just realised some of you must have reached the third trimester!

Two weeks to go til I do.

olivo · 10/05/2006 10:15

morning all!hope eveyone is ok. your diligence at going to the dentists is putting me to shame - i know I need to go but its not free here, so no inclination and would need to have taken some sort of sedating drugs so it'll have to wait till lo arrives etc - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

suddenly dawned on me today that i've got another 10 weeks at work - really struggling now, hate to think what I'll be like by then!! when is anyone else finishing?

jayjaybaby · 10/05/2006 10:59

hi ya have been to the job centre for the second to last time got served by the bigot that treats you like your stupid have you been looking for work dih yes i have but no one will have me lol Angry
is anybody else sick of hearing about wayne rooney i asked my other half yesterday if i went into labour on world cup final day and england were in the final would he go off and watch the match or stay with me

he said well its only three hours at the most and you'll be in labour for at least eight i nearly cried i should of known betterSad but had hoped he would rather be with me

BigHotMama · 10/05/2006 11:19

Morning ladies, hope your all well!
Olivo the only reason I dared go to dentist is because its free lol! I dont like going and hurts my hands from gripping the chair Shock.
Only got 9 weeks this friday until I break up from work, really cant wait especially if the weather is anything like today. Its gorgeous ere.

Trix, I'm paying £150 for our 4d scan reduced from £190, but my friend who enquired was told by the clinic that they will be at the baby show doing 4d scans for £25? Gutted as already paid now but would rather have it done at the clinic as I think you'll get less time at the baby show and you probably dont get as the full package ie 20mins on dvd and cd of still images.

I'm now 27+3 so am I into 3rd trimester yet? Oooh how exciting! Grin

Arabica · 10/05/2006 11:22

Yes, am officially 3rd trimester here--28 wks today. Am definitely feeling more tired, especially in the evenings.
JJ, I recommend destroying the telly in a hormonal hissy-fit should there be any more unsupportive comments from your partner! Definitely a red card offence.

BigHotMama · 10/05/2006 11:25

Jayjay know how you feel hun, my DH is missing our 3rd antenatal class to watch England game! How rude? I'll get him back when I'm in labour though by calling him names and swearing at him then blaming it on the G&A! Grin

SnowBoo · 10/05/2006 11:34

Good morning everyone! How are we all?

I have a nasty chest and ear infection and stinking cold (again!) so am getting my antibiotics later. Anyone else suffering????

Also, baby is in my ribs and the pain! He is a little monkey.
So 28 weeks is third trimester??? Gosh, the time has flown by. 28 weeks on Friday. Must get house sorted. Still haven't done any decorating or organising of babys room.

OP posts:
SnowBoo · 10/05/2006 11:36

Oh gosh so we are still measuring by toilet paper? Must go and do that in a mo. My bum has gained weight and my belly is massive but thats it. Look really odd shape.

jayjaybaby · 10/05/2006 12:00

am going to sunbathe in abit as its gorgeous again as im getting very brown
:p at you all that are at work would love the money but not the hassle

olivo · 10/05/2006 12:20

my dh is missing antenatal because of the football as well Angry

and this week because of his dodgy knee ligament...not impressed..........

Micku5 · 10/05/2006 12:36

jayjaybaby don't feel too bad. I'll be 24 weeks on Thursday.. so still over a week behind you. Getting jealous about the sunbathing. We've got builders at home and the garden is a mess so no chance and because we are moving the office home this weekend there's a lot of things to sort out.

On a separate note the hospital are trying to cancel and reschedule my appointment for my scan (due on thursday) but am not happy about it as it's meant to be done at 23 weeks and I already had to wait until 24 weeks to get the appt.

eenywifemum · 10/05/2006 13:04

Hi Everybody! Hope all is well! Wow there is so much on here since yesterday!

NBG - this last week has been really good with my sickness but before that it went from up to 20 times a day (in hospital with a drip for 5 days!) to 2-5 times a day and EVERY time I get in the car! But anyway its better this week so hopefully it will stay that way for a while now!

Olivo - You are SO making me want a kitkat! I think I may pick one up today when I go out! I do have such a sweet tooth though, mmm... truffles...

BigHotMama - My landlady would have let us have a satelite but the council wont as the house we are in is listed. It's annoying not having it sometimes when I see something advertised that I cant watch but for the most part we have gotten used to it!

Lunavix - That is a really nice offer of posting us your carrier and maybe we could buy it from you - Let me speak to Salamander about it as he is on this mission with the carrier and I dont want to step on his toes! ha ha I will let you know!

JayJay - Tell your other half to record the game and do his duty with you!! That's what modern technology is good for! Anyway how many times can you watch your children coming into the world?!?

I wish I knew how much weight I have gained, I dont have another midwife appointment for 4 weeks and I would really like to know now!

I am far behind most of you - will be 24 weeks on Friday and am sooo jealous of you 28 weekers Envy I am so eager for this baby to be born I just dont know how I can wait some days!

I know this is pretty much impossible, but Salamander and I were saying the other night how fun (and manic) it would be if in... Jan or Feb when all our babies are several months old we could rent a village hall somewhere central-ish and all get together! With the babies and older children and everything! I think that is some people's idea of hell but I think it sounds like a blast! If enough people are interested in it and think they could travel then I am happy to try to organise something nearer the time.

Sorry this post is so long & rambling!

lunavix · 10/05/2006 14:54

When is it you are third trimester? 6 months or 27 weeks? I'm 26 weeks this saturday

Salamander · 10/05/2006 15:19

JayJayBaby!!!!!!!!!

Tel your 'better' half that he can go and live with Wayne Rooney if he'd rather keep his company than see your new bundle.

Atrocious!!!!

Salamander

olivo · 10/05/2006 18:44

good luck tomorrow, Arabica. xx

SnowBoo · 10/05/2006 21:29

Hope all goes smoothly tomorrow Arabica.

Gosh, i've actually lost touch with this thread!!!! Have i really been away for so long?

So is anyone else suffering with stretching rib syndrome and lazy husbanditis? Or is it just me? In fairness, dh is giving up smoking and is a little grumpier than norm so have given him a verbal warning and he has promised to try and help more. As he skipped off to pub at 6pm tonight. But its a FINAL!!!! And his point was...? Its only a bloody game. MEN!

Nbg · 11/05/2006 10:12

Morning all Smile

Thinking of you Arabica. Hope all goes well. xxx

Micku5, I hope they don't cancel your scan. The last thing you need is more waiting. You get them told!

Jayjay, hmmmmm
spending 3 hours with a big eared cretin or your newborn child.
Tough one!
Grin

Purpleturtle, I know what you mean about the sofa. I've found that once again, sitting on the floor is alot more comfortable than the sofa. MW also said that this position is good for labour as it prevents the baby laying in the back.

BHM, I wouldn't get annoyed about the cheaper scan at the baby show. I dare bet the queue for it will be a mile long. You'd probably have to camp outside the night before to even get a chance!

Well we were very naughty yesterday!
We went shopping (had to get dd some new sandals) and we made a detour in Mothercare for toilet facilities, as you do, and dh became rather distracted and somehow found himself infront of a Quinny Buzz!
Next thing you know we have a mothercare member of staff explaining the mechanical bits to us and before you know it we've agreed to go back and try our carry cot and car seat out on it!
Grin
It's so pretty though! The great thing is we can use the equipmenyt we already have with it but the frame and actual pushchair part will be different. So I'm quite excited at the thought of a new pushchair, obviously Grin

Just need to ask you all, when you sleep on your sides, do you get any pain at all in one side of your back?
I got it last night and tbh I thought I'd gone into labour as I started to shake and the pain was not good.
I spent the next half hour sat on the side of the bed before falling asleep again!

PinkTulips · 11/05/2006 10:50

that took forever to read through! i've only been gone a week but you've all been very busy!

arabica, haven't had the chance to check your thread yet but my thoughts are with you today pet, best of luck Smile

so incredibly sorry to hear about sheonas lose, hope you find the comfort and support you need sweetheart, {{{hugs}}}

was poked at by a consultant last week because of the braxton hicks and she said baby is head down (he has been since 25 weeks as i'm quite small and he got stuck turning the last time) and 'a good size', which is irish for huge, so like Snowboo i'm planning for a july baby by the looks of it.

not measuring myself anymore as everyone who sees me feels the need to point out that i'm as big as i was at 8 months with dd and it's depressing me, luckily it's all bump again this time though, actually managed to buy myself a size 10 non-maternity top the other day thats really long and stretchy so it covers the bump. that cheered me up no end Smile

the books i'd recommend would be the Vicky Iovine one for pregnancy supplemented with lots of magazines, and 'what to expect- the first year' for after, massive but it covers everything and is unbiased for the most part so it doesn't make you feel like your failing when things aren't going to plan like some of the other books tend to do

welcome to all the new people by the way, can't get over what a busy month novenber must have been Wink

off to enjoy some more lovely sunshine now, had a glorious day yesterday and spent it on the beach, nothing like freezing cold atlantic water to cool down a pregnant woman! luckily being a week day it was pretty quiet though so i didn't frighten too many people with the gient belly in my pre-pregnancy bikini! dd and i are all tanned and golden now though and dp is burnt to a cinder bless him and his irish skin Grin

sorry for the long post, been in withdrawal not coming on for a week!

Nbg · 11/05/2006 10:52

I was going to ask where you had gone!

Envy of having a July baby

Grin
PinkTulips · 11/05/2006 10:57

crossed posts, just read your back pain question, not much help though i'm afraid mine tends to hurt in pretty any position! could be baby lying on a nerve though?

was galavanting around mayo trying to track down the priest whose supposed to be christening dd next month, had a lovely long lecture about the symbolism of baptism and our responsibilities as christian parents, he seemed more concerned which family i came from though than that dp and i are unmarried and expecting a second already so i don't know how 'christian' that isWink

BigHotMama · 11/05/2006 12:16

Morning all, hope your well!

Am very envious of you Pinktulips being near the beach, sounds wonderful while I'm stuck in a sweaty office. Have booked tomorrow off though so hopefully catch some rays sitting outside having a pub lunch with my sister. July baby eh? Its just not fair! (stamps feet tantrum stylee!)

NBG, your probably right about the massive queue's! At least we will get time o have a good luck and not be rushed!

I wake myself up everytime I have to turn onto the oppoiste side and feel like I have to support myself by sitting up in bed first then rolling over! And when I get up I'm all crooked like an old dear, takes me few minutes to be able to straighten myself up right. I've also been getting kicks right on the side now where I'm lying which feels quite mad! Dh felt about 6 good hard kicks last night in the space of a minute, he couldnt get over how fast n furious they're coming now! Woke me up with several at 6am the little bugger!

Off to Boots to get me a freebie pack sorted! oh and to buy my chocolate supplies lol Wink
