Congrats on the scans :-)

Mine is on Tuesday, thank god. Baby B is really moving / kicking tonight which is nice. Some of the movements are most bizarre...would love to know what is going on in there!

pinkapples · 30/01/2013 21:53

Awww how exciting mrsbri my little cherub is still not giving much away in terms of feelings hopefully over the next couple of weeks it'll b a bit more noticeable its weird how the 20 week scan doesn't really stop you worrying at all midwife on Monday tho so will hear baby's heartbeat and hubby will be hearing it for the first time GrinGrinhow exciting!

MrsBri · 30/01/2013 21:57

Pink, I think I'm destined to worry for the entire 40-odd weeks, whatever good news I get along the way. Then I'll carry on worrying :-/

Hope your DH enjoys the heartbeat :-)

AlohaMama · 30/01/2013 22:02

Just back from a meeting and catching up properly. Good luck tomorrow sparkle. Even though this is #2 I was amazed all over again at how much they can see on the scans. To even be able to tell if the lips are developing normally and how many toes, and arteries from the heart?! Crazy. Baby looked like a starving monkey though, hopefully will be cuter on arrival! And it turns out I have an anterior placenta, which is why I hadn't feltmuch movement, though I did feel some this morning and last night.

Sorry to hear about your grandad bumblebee. Hope you are able to make the journey and see him.

Olimoss · 31/01/2013 07:28

Morning all - big congrats on the scan news and the evening up of the gender balance!!

I want to ask your advice - from bout 3am this morning I've had a few bouts of (I'm so sorry....!) diarrhoea. No other symptoms, no cramps or headaches or fever or anything, however the diarrhoea is pretty yucky.

I really feel fine apart otherwise (albeit a bit tired now from being awake much of the night). should I just see how I get in today, making sure I keep hydrated, see if it goes away or do you think I need to see the GP?

Had sushi last night from a very, very reputable place, none of it was raw fish anyway.

forgetmenots · 31/01/2013 08:02

Not sure olimoss but if it helps I had quite a bit of that in the 1st trimester, midwife said it might be my pregnacare supplement because they contain,er, 'softeners' to ease constipation.

Could it be that, mixed with a couple of days high fibre? Sure it won't be your meal if it's not actual sushi.

peardrop2 · 31/01/2013 10:14

Oil - my guess is it was the sushi. Doesn't necessarily mean food poisoning could just be your digestive system not agreeing with a different food you haven't had for a while? We're much more sensitive and small changes to the diet can lead to constipation or the opposite! Unless you start feeling ill, temperature rises or get cramps I personally would sip water more like you say and see how you get on. However, if your gut feeling says call a midwife then do that! Or If your not sure call a midwife.

Oops sorry for the double post!

Withalittlesparkle · 31/01/2013 10:23

Quick post, I'm joining team blue!!!

Olimoss · 31/01/2013 10:32

Thank you for advice!

redwellybluewelly · 31/01/2013 10:33

soy sauce often upsets my tummy when I am pg - however don't forget that we can get D&V bugs in pregnancy just as much as we can when not pregnant. If it were me I'd probably take the day off just in case breakfast triggered it again.

Hey Hey sparkle congrats!

learnermummy · 31/01/2013 10:47

Congrats sparkle

learnermummy · 31/01/2013 10:48

And congrats Aloha - just catching up!

peardrop2 · 31/01/2013 11:35

Yay team blue Grin congrats sparkle and all of you who've recently found out if you have healthy yellows, blues or pink beans Smile

peardrop2 · 31/01/2013 11:36

Beans? That should be bumps!! We've gone past the bean stage now (TG)!!

MrsBri · 31/01/2013 12:07

Congrats, sparkle...bring on Tuesday 9am for my scan! :-)

suzyrut · 31/01/2013 13:20

Congrats Aloha and sparkle brill news x

BumbleBee2011 · 31/01/2013 16:18

Well my grandad has passed away in the night - he'd had a stroke when my Mum flew out. I haven't been able to get hold of her yet but I know she'll be devastated that she missed him by a few hours.

I've decided I will go out there with DD, just need to know what's happening really (apparently things move faster than in the UK so the funeral could well be over the next few days). I also have no idea if I'd need a doctor's note to fly now, but I'm sure all that will be sorted out once I know the timescales.

Congrats on the good news sparkles, and Aloha you've cheered me right up with "starving monkey"!

SunnyL · 31/01/2013 16:32

Oh sorry Bumblebee - very sad news indeed. My bestest wishes to you.

On the flight letter thing. I'm meant to be flying out to Sri Lanka with work in a couple of weeks. Generally they ask for a letter if you are visibly showing just to check how far along you are. I'm not really showing but planning on getting a letter from the midwife before just in case. Apparently she won't give me a carte blanche letter - I'll have to keep getting it renewed before any trips.

MrsBri · 31/01/2013 17:57

I'm sorry, BumbleBee. I hope you manage to get over then ok. I'm sure your mum will really appreciate you going over too.

I hope you feel better soon, Oli. I did read that diarrhoea can actually be due to constipation, weirdly. Something to do with impaction, I think. TMI?!

Such a busy day at work. Need to zonk out tonight. Yawn.

learnermummy · 31/01/2013 18:50

So sorry to hear that bumblebee. You shouldn't need a letter to fly this early but maybe take your notes?

Mawgatron · 31/01/2013 19:41

Sorry bumblebee, that sucks to hear bad news when everything should be so happy for you :( thinking of you.

Mawgatron · 31/01/2013 19:42

On a different note, scan today was fine, and adding one more boy to the ranks.

Withalittlesparkle · 31/01/2013 19:56

Sorry to here your news bumble!

maw congrats!! I'm already in love with everything boy related!!!
