How exciting nuts, hope it all happens quickly and easily for you Smile

Sparks, brooking for your gran, she's on the best place

Boo, that does sound like a lot of growth scans, hope they can cut them down for you

SparklySanta · 31/12/2012 14:07

What you ladies do? Would you go visit her or stay away for risk of catching something? Considering I've only just got over the flu and have asthma!! I really want to see her but I really really don't want to be ill again!!!

NewYearNewBoo · 31/12/2012 14:14

I assume she knows your news, I'm sure she won't mind you not going for now, send love/cards/flowers with her other visitors so she knows you are thinking of her, and make a big fuss when she gets home.

clickingtock · 31/12/2012 14:16

Nuts, so excited for you. Hope it goes smoothly. ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanksBrewThanksThanksThanksThanksBiscuitThanksThanksThanksThanks

Sparks, so sorry for your Gran but hope they sort her out ASAP. Hmm

Boo, brooking for simpler prenatal care for you. I have found going to MWs every fortnight inn local primary school fairly tedious so can't imagine how you must feel. Always extra annoying to pay loads for parking when that money could be spent one Lindt... Wink

I have fought off a touch of tonsillitis after v stressful day on Fri but have nasty sciatic pain, guessing tinitock is v low now. Hopes for an early birth dwindling but I just have to enjoy the lull. Whims might beat me to it at this rate. All these brooking babies like to stay put don't they??!

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 14:17

"Just got back from mw, they needed to re do my thyroid blood test, apparently a tsh count of only 0.38 is not ideal"

Aargh! Why can no-one manage thyroid disease in pregnancy???

That sort of TSH is completely and utterly fine! Yes, check it again in 4-6 weeks after the last one, but it is nothing to worry about. TSH should be trimester specific anyway, as HCG is a very similar molecule to TSH so can falsely bring down TSH as measured in the lab for the first half of pregnancy. Just wanted to reassure you that it is nothing to worry about.

whimsicalname · 31/12/2012 14:20

Ooh nut I hope you have a straight forward time and get a lovely baby soon.

And thinking of you and GrannySparks sparks. I would try to stay clear if poss - when,MrWhim had swine flu the hospital was most upset about me visiting. She'll understand. Can you, phone?

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 14:23

Sparks, I would visit her. You can't catch pneumonia. Obviously, in hospital and out, there is lots of winter vomiting, so keep following all the usual hand hygiene stuff, but I would visit if it was me.

tock, glad that your tonsillitis came to nothing. The sciatica will all be better soon when tockbean arrives but you have my sympathy until then.

NewYearNewBoo · 31/12/2012 14:33

Oh thank you Bartlet I was led to believe this was not a good result at all, and my mw just called, she said they will do the gtt at the community clinic so I don't have to go to the main hospital for that! :) having a much better day now.

clickingtock · 31/12/2012 14:57

Thanks Bartlett, you are cheering us all up. How is your leave going? Enjoy your party tonight. Whims too. The rest of us will live vicariously. ThanksSmile

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 15:15

My ball really helps my sciatica, but stopping picking up DS made a big difference, tock. I'm glad to cheer you up. I can't turn round in bed or go upstairs without pain, but I am telling myself that it will all go when the baby comes. I am quite excited about tonight, more so I can start saying, "I'm having a baby next month." [hopeful smile] (Surely the baby won't make me wait until March...)

clickingtock · 31/12/2012 15:36

I'm telling you Bartlet these brooking babies like the warmth of the oven, you may well see the ides of March... I can now say my baby "is due on Thurs" but I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be dealing with another 40+14. Sigh. Need diversions and not sciatic ones. Poor you, it will be so fab for you when it's all over and you are snuggled up with your beautiful newborn. Xxx

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 31/12/2012 15:37

Got any Thinking Day plans Bartlet? Baby is bound to interrupt them :)

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 15:58

What if the baby arrives ON Thinking Day, Jen? Am I contractually obliged to call the baby Olave or Robert??? Xmas Shock

SparklySanta · 31/12/2012 16:05

What's thinking day?!

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 16:12

Were you never a Brownie or a Guide, Sparks? Xmas Shock

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Thinking_Day

SparklySanta · 31/12/2012 16:28

I don't think they had world thinking day when I was a brownie/guide!! But then u wasn't in guides very long so maybe I finished before they changed the name!!

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 31/12/2012 18:36

It's been going since 1926 so you must be really old Sparks if it wasn't around when you were a girl Xmas Grin

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 31/12/2012 18:38

My DC is due next month but the beginning so it will be here by the 22nd. We are hiring the local secondary school and having an indoor campfire for the whole district

NewYearNewBoo · 31/12/2012 18:48

Going to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR hope you have a fabulous night whatever you're doing and hope 2013 gives us all pain free sneeze births and beautifully behaved children :):):)

GreenOlives · 31/12/2012 19:01

smegs Im loving your evil wake up idea for the hungover poorly people tomorrow Grin Grin
nuts Good luck lovely, not long now until lovely new born snuggles! It may be that the brookers will produce a new years day baby as well as a Christmas day one! Grin Keep your energy up with lots of Brew and Biscuit
sparks Brooking for your nan! I would definitely visit her just use the hand gel etc. I know I've had a dose of Norovirus but that's the only bug I've got in pregnancy (touch wood!) and that's with working full time in hospital.
boo Glad appts are a bit less of a bind now, nothing worse than trips to hospital and lots of waiting around!
bartlet I was a brownie but I don't remember Thinking Day at all Blush Hope you have a lovely time at your get together tonight and that sleep is a bit easier too!
tock Well it does seem that tinytock was teasing us with that early show - here's hoping the sciatica is a sign that things are moving in the right direction! Smile
gen and stacks Hope you're enjoying your beautiful boys and managing to rest up a bit too! Thanks
Waves to little and all the other brookers I've missed because this silly app will not let me scroll back like the old version did! Angry
Things all good with me apart from normal third trimester moans! Hips and pelvis/pubic bone very painful in bed but bearable when im up and about and Ranitidine is still my saviour on the indigestion front! Smile Baby olives still appears to be doing full turns inside so I have no idea from one day to the next if he/she is head up or down! Does anyone else have numb patches of skin on their tum? The baby's bum/head often seems to be on the right side of my belly and I have very much reduced sensation on the skin there which I presume is just because its so stretched? I just don't remember having it with DS!
Anyhow, time for bedtime story now so I must dash! Happy New Year lovely ladies - may 2013 bring health and happiness to all (and lovely babies!) Grin Grin Grin

SparklySanta · 31/12/2012 21:52

jen you're cheeky!!! I read the wiki link and it said something about it only being renamed as world thinking day in 1999 so I assumed there was something else which was then 'rebranded' I certainly don't remember them making a big fuss about it 'back in the day'

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 31/12/2012 22:08

It was known as just Thinking Day before, when I was a Brownie back in the late 80s/early 90s we used to celebrate it. We had to bring in a shiny coin for the collection and generally did international activities around that time to remind us that Guiding is all around the world

SparklySanta · 31/12/2012 22:45

I vaguely remember doing something about France and the other sixes having different countries, maybe that was it!!

BartletForTeamGB · 31/12/2012 23:17

Well, I am home and in bed. I couldn't quite deal with a big party tonight, so DS and I are in our respective beds while DH went back. I hardly slept last night, felt so tired but not sleepy, so hoping I'm asleep before midnight tonight.

sparks, yes, I seem to have missed the rebranding as well but sounds like you did do Thinking Day. Can jen and I tempt you back to Girlguiding? It is all Jen's fault that I have my very own Brownie pack after she started a thread here. How is your nan doing?

olives, glad you are doing well. I am on omeprazole and I think it is amazing! I've no idea where DC3 is, but I am seeing the MW on Friday afternoon so I'll ask her what she thinks then. The baby certainly has spells of wild wriggling and twirling.

SparklySanta · 01/01/2013 00:20

I don't think wGrin have guides round here, it's far more 'gang culture' lol

Happy new year lovely brookers, bring on the 2013 babies!!!!
