Where's everyone gone? Hope you all had good new years. Here's to a happy healthy and baby-some 2013.

BartletForTeamGB · 02/01/2013 14:03

Hello, whims. I was wondering where you had all gone too! Happy New Year, Brookers!

babybartlet has been misbehaving the last few days and not moving very much. I had to keep lying down on the my left side to check that all was well and would get a little bit of wriggling, but then, this morning, there was nothing so I went up to the maternity hospital. For the first 45 minutes of the CTG, the baby hardly moved although the heartrate was fine but then, finally, woke up and had a good wriggle. Could have done with that a LOT earlier! He/she seems to be OP at the moment, so I'll need to spend a lot more time on my ball (sitting bouncing on it at the moment as I type.)

clickingtock · 02/01/2013 16:09

Hope you're ok Bartlet. Just a sleepy baby putting on weight and v relaxed? X

Happy New Year all. Hope babies & brookers are all well?

Bartlet DD2 was a bit like that, although had her moments of activity. I had to drink vast amounts of iced water in the MDU so that she would move during monitoring. Of course it turns out that she was just a very chilled out baby - still is! Hope it's the same for babybartlet. How many weeks are you now?

Any babies imminent? I feel a little spoilt lately with Stacks & Gen - more, more!

whimsicalname · 02/01/2013 17:47

Blimey bartlet how stressful. Glad all ok.

I think nutella should be sneezing as we speak smegs, then tock then me in a fortnight. Busy busy!

Smeggnog · 02/01/2013 17:56

Oh dear lord, I forgot about Nutella! Blush Hope the induction went ok, and you're enjoying newborn snuggles nuts.

Thanks

whims how's the US birth plan then? Is it all going to be very different to your previous births?

tock hope babytock is ready to go.

clickingtock · 02/01/2013 18:13

Whims, are you expecting to go overdue then? Good for brain development, apparently. I remember you saying your other DC came after Edd. But it is only a guess date, isn't it?

Thanks Smegs. All fine here, bump seems to have grown a lot in last few days, v low and from what i can tell still LOA so can'tncomplain. Show was just a tease but I feel v relaxed and looking forward to seeing tinitock when s/he decides to make an entrance. So great that DD2 is so lovely and chilled. How is your health post-birth?

Brooking for Nuts, hope you're ok love. Peanut with us yet?

Waves and Brew Biscuit to all other brookers. Xxxx

TheLittleFriend · 02/01/2013 19:08

Oh bartlet, what stress these babies can cause before they're even born! Glad all is well.

Whims, hope your NYE kids party was exciting. Any exciting Pre-labour signs yet?

Tock nice to hear you're feeling chilled. It's got to be good for the bump.

Smegs good to hear from you. Yes, another glut of babies coming up, it's very exciting around here right now. Brooking super hard for the ttc'ers to get lots of bfps, as lots of people are graduating.

Nuts I hope all is well and you're little one is here.

So, 33 weeks tomorrow and I'm feeling very unorganised. Really need to get some paint on nursery walls, clothes down from loft for washing, all other equipment down for checking, hospital bag stuff bought and packed..... And the list goes on. I'm sure I had all this done by now with dd! Please reassure me you're all the same Grin

whimsicalname · 02/01/2013 19:11

Yep, all others late: 6, 8 and 10 days by both dates and scans tock. I'm booked in for induction 3 days after due date, so yes, somewhat different smegs. The hospital is basically prepping you for a section from the minute you walk in, so I figured I might as well do it at my convenience. I'm petrified by the prospect though!

whimsicalname · 02/01/2013 19:14

X post little. I'm due next week and we don't have a cot yet. Babe will have to sleep in a laundry basket. (we have actually ordered one. Yesterday)

GreenOlives · 02/01/2013 20:09

Be reassured little that I am just as disorganized as you! Grin I only have 4 shifts left at work now (last one is next Weds) so I keep telling myself I'll get on with organising when I've finished work Hmm We shall see! Wink

clickingtock · 02/01/2013 20:47

Hello Little and Olives. 33wks'seems early to have everything organised to me. I only packed a just-in-case hospital bag yesterday (39+5)... Blush lovely to think you will be on mat leave soon, btw.

Ooh Whims I'm brooking for you, don't like the sound of you feeling petrified. Hopefully all will go well as you're such a pro. Nowt wrong with a laundry basket, eh? So 16th is a big day for you? We will brook extra hard.

Haven't q got my head round the fact it's 2013. I think my edd tomorrow is making everything a bit surreal, but other than that life feels like a nice reliable routine ride and can't tell the difference. I'm sure a new baby will give me a good wake-up (and stay-up) call. Anyone else feeling a bit surreal and floaty? Smile

Dying to hear from Nuts.

And agree we need to brook for the ttcers to move over here ASAP.

itsMYNutella · 02/01/2013 21:10

Baby Theodor Ruben arrived yesterday at 7:19am (after a very long night and an epidural) he has lots of blond hair and is 3030g (6lb 11oz) and 50 cm long.
Not how I expected to celebrate NYE Grin but we're very happy. He is tiny, and feeding well, gorgeous, perfect and smells fantastic. Finally know what everyone means about that new baby smell!! Smile

Will try and bash out a birth story when we get home. But before we leave, because he was this hospitals first baby this year, the hospital boss will present us with a bunch of flowers before we go home Smile.

Happy new year Brookers! Wishing you and all those awaited Smile the very best of health and lots quick straight forward sneeze births!! X

NewYearNewBoo · 02/01/2013 21:13

Congratulations Nutella wonderful news. I LOVE his name, if DD had been a DS our top 3 names were Theo, Reuben and Lawrence. Great choice!

So pleased to hear all is well Bartlet

Brooking that it happens for you in the next couple of days Tock

Solars · 02/01/2013 21:28

whimsicalname · 02/01/2013 21:36

Another boy! I can't remember if we knew what you were having nut. Anyway, congratulations to you both, lovely name. Can't wait for our new baby smell!

JenFrankincenseAndMyrrh · 02/01/2013 22:18

Congratulations Nuts Thanks

BartletForTeamGB · 02/01/2013 22:39

nuts, congratulations! Good name! (DS has one of those as a middle name.)

Anyone considering reusable nappies? We got this before DS arrived, but DH (wisely!) made me decide between reusable nappies and BFing in the first few awful weeks of DS not putting on weight, his tongue tie, my mastitis. I always intended to use them and never did and I don't think we will now. We don't have a tumble dryer and it is going to be wet and cold in February and we just don't have the space. I know I am a Bad Brooker! So, if only to assuage our guilt at using disposables....if a Brooker would like the pack in exchange for postage, then let me know and I will send it to you!

Amazed at little and the hospital bag packed already! I'll do mine at the end of the month. We are planning a HB if the scan next week is fine, so the bag can be to keep everything we'll need for the HB handy or to zip up to take to hospital. Even with DS, I didn't have much until 37/38 weeks. I figured that Kiddicare/Mothercare/John Lewis all did next day delivery so we had enough to get by for a day or two.

Smeggnog · 02/01/2013 22:50

Congratulations Nuts! Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks
Grin

Lovely name Smile

Smeggnog · 02/01/2013 22:53

Bartlet Yes please! We kept meaning to buy reusables but got distracted by several big cost items. This would be great to help us get the hang of it.

Smeggnog · 02/01/2013 22:55

Oops - meant to say Thanks Bartlet. Grin
