Ooooooh no fair, I don't have Facebook!!! But I'm assuming its something lovely and warm and snuggly?!!!!

clickingtock · 28/12/2012 15:00

Ooh how lovely, Gen. So excited for you.

Why was MW surprised Bartlett? Not usually doc's territory? Why was DS HB a surprise tho?

Too busy today, making me Confused

Any news Nuts? Xxxx

BartletForTeamGB · 28/12/2012 15:02

Have sent you a PM, sparks.

BartletForTeamGB · 28/12/2012 15:15

tock, I think doctors, including me until not long before DS arrived, are very nervous of HBs and significantly overestimate the risks. I only know of one other doctor who has had a HB but generally my friends have been very surprised/shocked that I would even consider it. I can't even have a sensible conversation about the HB studies that show safety without most doctor friends rubbishing the studies without even having read them! Xmas Hmm The problem is that, after medical school when we have to do a certain number of normal deliveries (I've assisted at normal deliveries and at elective sections as a student), the only deliveries doctors get involved in are the complicated ones that have gone a bit pear-shaped.

The MW who delivered DS said after it was all over that she was surprised to see a doctor book a homebirth but she hadn't wanted to say while I was actually giving birth! Xmas Smile So I just think that MWs don't expect doctors to go for HBs or to have done it before.

We are trying to be busy today, but DH is working much harder than me, so I should probably go and help.

whimsicalname · 28/12/2012 15:23

My parents are both doctors, bartlet and still haven't quite got over me having HBs even though my brother was nearly born in the car

itsMYNutella · 28/12/2012 15:58

Awww I'm guessing Gen has some good new squishy baby news! Hope it all went well and mum and baby are well?

Nothing happening here.... Had to wait in all day for an awesome (huge) parcel! Little bro sent (German) DP loads of crisps - which DP loved and they also sent us a loads of beautiful knitted things from little bro's DGF's Mum... So errr MIL once removed? Anyway, some pink, some blue and all beautiful! And a knitted teddy! Will try to post some pics later.

DP obviously got very excited about the crisps ate two packets (small normal size packets), then a cookie (which I cooked yesterday) and is now asleep on the sofa... I'm fairly sure men are only adult shaped, and miss some adult thinking ... So I'm tidying up and wanted to go out for dinner with DP but since he's had crisps and a cookie and keeps moaning about his weight (sympathy pregnancy weight gain ) I'm not sure he's really in the mood Hmm

itsMYNutella · 28/12/2012 16:22

Although... He is probably tired because he was up late last night and awake early this morning because I am very hormonal pregnant occasionally... And getting fed up with a developing head cold... Bless him. He is a big soft sweety. Will try and do more sports with home in the new year Wink poor DP. He's awake now and I owe him some cuddles.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/12/2012 17:28

I want to divorce my DH for general twuntery!! Angry he has been twunty in my hormonal opinion all twunting day!

boo better not let my DP and your DH see this... they might collude against us... or are we already colluding against them??? DP offered to vacuum then decided he didn't want to... so I left the vacuum cleaner out for him while I cleaned the bathroom and did the washing up tidying the kitchen in general... he hasn't vacuumed... Hmm

TheLittleFriend · 28/12/2012 18:00

boo my dp is also twunty today, due to getting in at 2.30 steaming drunk [ hmm]

Loving Gens fb news, can't wait for more details.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/12/2012 18:02

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/12/2012 18:48

So happy for you Gen. It's always seemed like you've been a tiny bit ahead of me during the brooking process, through the bad times and the good. Now you have your lovely little boy, I feel very emotional for you, and slightly freaked that it means I'll have mine soon!

So Nuts and Tock up next, with Whims not far behind. Then its our turn, triple whammiers. Lots of excitement still to come! Grin

GenericDietCola · 28/12/2012 19:06

thank you!

scarletfestivefingernail · 28/12/2012 19:13

:::::Twirls::::: Tis I, Boo, MissLToe seemed a bit out of season now, I will be looking for a permanent name change soon, I have decided that Princessishavinababyboo is a bit too .....erm....... in the news, cos there is an actual princess (sort of) having a baby :( Any suggestions welcome as long as I have my Boo!

Stacks · 29/12/2012 19:20

Hi everyone. I'm at home with DS now, and a little... occupied. Hoping to get some time tonight to catch up and post from laptop.

Congrats Gen!

TheLittleFriend · 29/12/2012 20:59

Ah, those little newborns do like to keep you occupied! Glad to hear you're home Stacks Smile

Hope everyone is enjoying family life over the festive period. Anyone bothering to go out on NYE? I've never been a fan of it, pregnant or not, so don't mind staying in at all.

NewYearNewBoo · 29/12/2012 21:13

Ooh baby snuggles on your own sofa Grin that is great news Stacks :)

I'm staying in too Little I have never liked going out on new years, far too busy everywhere, plus baby sitters are very hard to find and I like the idea of starting the year as I mean to go on, my little family boo all together :)
