Great news, face. Delighted for you!

Just been on the phone to the Supervisor of Midwives about delivery suite v birth centre. She didn't sound convincing and tried to big up the delights of the delivery suite (I am sure it is fine but it is not quite as cosy as the birth centre. I just don't want to end up being treated as high risk when it is all very borderline as I'd want to get home swiftly rather than stay in etc), but she is going to have a look into things and get me an appointment with the midwife in charge of the birth centre. Keep brooking for me!

NewYearNewBoo · 31/01/2013 11:41

Ooh Bartlet Brooking for the right outcome for you and you get to use the birth centre. Am I right in thinking if there is an issue it is very close to the delivery ward for transfer any way?

Withalittlesparkle · 31/01/2013 12:37

Brooking for you Bartlett!!! I'm sure it'll work out, it has to you're a Brooker after all!!!

I'm back from my scan, well technically I was back ages ago but mrsparks took me for breakfast before coming home!! Twinkle is no longer a UBB and Im thinking twinkles is maybe a bit too girly for such a strapping baby boy GrinSmile

TheLittleFriend · 31/01/2013 12:46

Sparks, that's lovely, congratulations on your boy news Grin

Bartlet, brooking hard that they let you in to the birthing centre.

Tock & Olives I agree about that age gap. We all obviously were planning a smaller one, but all I keep thinking now is thank goodness dd is a bit older now! Wink

cartoontrickster · 31/01/2013 14:01

oh wow sparks a boy! how exciting! Grin

BartletForTeamGB · 31/01/2013 14:55

How exciting, sparks!

(La la la, not listening to tock about 2 little ones being hard work, la la la.)

whimsicalname · 31/01/2013 15:02

Go team boy! Good work sparks. (there's a possibility I'm biased). I do actually know of a boy (nick)named Twinkle. Our boy has been brandef Fourson by amusing friends of my parents. I actually quite like it!

2 little ones is hard work to start with, but it pays dividends when they're a bit bigger and play together. I promise!

BartletForTeamGB · 31/01/2013 15:31

Great phone call from the Consultant Midwife from the Birth Centre. She's spoken to my consultant and they are not convinced by the sonographer's hysteria, so birth centre looks good to go and even possibly home birth, but I'll decide on the latter after the scan and chat with the consultant next week. Feeling much more relieved about things and glad there is a plan in progress.

whimsicalname · 31/01/2013 15:50

Great news bartlet. Really delighted for you.

NewYearNewBoo · 31/01/2013 15:57

Sparks a boy :):) fabulous news, if is still twinkle though!!

Bartlet what a result!! Birth centre and I sliver of hope for your HB, I am so pleased for you :)

NewYearNewBoo · 31/01/2013 15:58

he is, not if is!

TheLittleFriend · 31/01/2013 16:01

Brilliant news Bartlet. Smile

clickingtock · 31/01/2013 18:07

Congrats Sparks, little boys are gorgeous. I'll let you know about little girls in3 years time.

Bartlet, v pleased for you and the power of brooking. I wouldn't worry, it is all v manageable having 2, it's just that I'm 41! But I was told yesterday that I was 'glowing' so something mst be going right. And DS is fairly settled with it all, tho may well be watching a tad too much CBeebies. Blush Anyway, Whims can do 4 so she'll have a few tips.

Brooks for everyone else. Thanks

GreenOlives · 31/01/2013 18:34

Lovely news sparks! Little boys are indeed fab! Grin

bartlet That's brilliant news!

tock A little extra Cbeebies won't hurt at all! Smile

Right boob no longer painful after a good massage in the shower - think it was a blocked duct! Has reminded me of the pain involved in early days breast feeding so the lansinoh is being used twice daily already in an effort to prepare them for the onslaught! Wink Grin

whimsicalname · 31/01/2013 20:09

I can do 3 tock. The jury's still out on 4! But thanks for.the vote of confidence!

Withalittlesparkle · 31/01/2013 21:29

Observation of the day - the jelly they use on you belly smells disgusting!!! Just had the longest shower!!!

Shock Froot is the wc jab that bad :( Shock I really don't like labs :(:(

Hope the next 11 days in fast and quite easy for you.

NewYearNewBoo · 01/02/2013 14:50

#jabs

TheLittleFriend · 01/02/2013 16:29

Lots of you seem to rate the lansinoh cream, but I found it too thick and gloopy. Is it meant to sink in or sit on the surface? I'm wondering about giving it another go, as my nipples suffered no end with dd!

Frootz, enjoy the countdown to mat leave Smile

Dd and dp still both unwell. I'm wondering if they've got flu, as I've not caught it, but have had the jab. Both very tired with hacking cough. Dd had fever initially for several days. Does that sound flu like, medically minded people?

NewYearNewBoo · 01/02/2013 16:48

Oh Little hope they both feel better soon, I can be no help, I don't know the difference between a cold/flu/man flu (except the latter is most annoying) DH and toddly boo both have the hacking cough at the moment but no temperature with it.

Also no experience with the cream, never used it, didn't bf toddly and had nips of steel with teen, but will be keeping an eye on the replies. I'm not much help today Little sorry.

Lansinoh is soft at body temp, so warm it up a bit before putting on. Leaving it on a radiator for example works a treat. Auto correct just suggested leaving it on a racist. That would probably work too.

TheLittleFriend · 01/02/2013 19:21

Ta Whims. I'll start warming the racist Wink

GreenOlives · 02/02/2013 08:46

little Flu usually has some gastric symptoms as well as the cold/cough ones too - they prob just have some horrible seasonal virus, glad you've escaped it so far! I used a Boots nipple cream last time which I loved but they don't make it any more Sad The lovely biscuits sent me an almost full tube of Lansinoh so I've been using that but I've found it a bit thick too so thanks for the racist radiator tip! Wink Talking of typos I was looking for some extra large muslins the other day but my phone auto corrected to Muslims - can you imagine what Google came up with!! Grin
