Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheLittleFriend · 02/02/2013 09:40

Thanks Green, dd did have a bit on a upset tummy, despite not eating, but only for about a day. We had a bit of a better night last night, so the end is in sight Grin

BartletForTeamGB · 02/02/2013 22:28

For a brief moment this evening, I thought I was going to win the Race of the Tripe Whammiers, but it was not to be. I had weeks of evenings of painful contractions with DS before I delivered at 40+9, so I shouldn't get my hopes up! It wasn't even as if it translated into a shorter labour as it took him 22 hours! Well, the competition is still on... Wink

boo, the WC did make my arm a bit uncomfortable for a day or so afterwards, but it certainly wasn't anything painful. I deliberately got it in my right arm rather my left, as I'm sleeping on my left, but it was fine. Imagine us all holding your hands and you will be just fine!

green, glad your breast is better. We don't want any mastitis around here! One of my friends who has never been pregnant or BFing had mastitis a few years ago randomly, so I guess it can happen to anyone. I had mastitis with DS so I'm going to be on guard for the slightest hint of it this time.

little, not sure if it would be flu. We've all had bad coughs and colds this week and are all feeling a bit wiped out. DS keeps teling me he is "very tie-red, Mummy". It is very cute, but then he gets overtired and very upset very quickly.

Right, need to go to bed, so hello everyone else! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

TheLittleFriend · 03/02/2013 08:16

I'm sure you're right Bartlet and Olives, it's probably not flu. I'm just being a bit selfish, and thinking if its flu, at least I've had the jab!!

Do you both find braxton hicks are worse in the evening? I seem to find that if I try and move after about 7, the bump goes in to a painful contraction. This is how I missed the signs I was in labour with dd, so need to be super cautious this time. We only got to hospital 40mins before she arrived!

Sounds very promising Bartlet. Brooking that none of us go overdue this time Smile

NewYearNewBoo · 03/02/2013 09:27

Oh my, those tripe whammiers are looking good for arriving soon :) it's all very exciting!!

I have to say I am loving my preggo dreams at the moment, last night was brilliant!! Kerry Katona was my best friend, Mark Wright (towie) was in love with me and wanted to marry me and when I went to hospital to have my baby (boy) I completely forgot to tell my family but was having a cup of tea with Stephen Fry Grin

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend :)

GreenOlives · 03/02/2013 15:45

boo Your dream sounds ace - a chavtastic start with an intellectual end!! Grin

little My braxton hicks definitely ramp up a gear in the evenings and start hurting through to my back as well, I spend all evening huffing and puffing trying to get comfy on the sofa. Last night in bed I was being woken by strong period pains on and off for several hours. At one point I thought about whether I should be timing them but then decided that if I could sleep in between them it prob wasn't worth worrying about! Sounds like you do need to keep an eye on your pains, I didn't realise your DD had made such a speedy arrival! Smile

NewYearNewBoo · 03/02/2013 19:21

Is it cos I is a chav? Grin looking forward to tonight's installment Grin

Reading back, all 3 tripe whammiers are having big BH's in the evening? Ooh more exciting every day!!

Withalittlesparkle · 04/02/2013 06:46

boo I think you're meant to end that with innit, and then do that finger smacking together thing!!

Can't believe we're so close to the tripe whammers baby boom!!

More dreams here as well, 4 very distinct ones, one I woke up sobbing, hands down worst dream!! Dreamt I was loosing my little boy, the blood was so vivid when I woke up I had to go to the loo and check!!!

Other dreams were just weird!! Dreamt the cat was piddling on the baby grows! Had one where a dragon was chained to my office building and whipping everyone with its tongue to get them to work harder (assuming that's how I subconsciously view my boss) and finally dreamt I went to Japan only there were no trains everyone got round on rollarcoasters!!

NewYearNewBoo · 04/02/2013 08:11

Gah, failed my chav test Grin

Morning all

TheLittleFriend · 04/02/2013 13:12

Oh lordy, I need matchsticks to prop my eyes open today. After four hours of inconsolable screaming with ear ache from dd, her ear drum burst at about 1am. We finally all then got a bit of sleep, but I am so knackered now. This does not bode well for dealing with a newborn. She is fine now it's burst, I'm praying this is the last day of illness.

Hope everyone else is well

ScrambledSmegs · 04/02/2013 14:15

Hullo. How are the triple-whammiers? Any twinges?

FYI I am shattered. DD2 doesn't like sleeping in the day unless on me/in the buggy/sling, and wakes quite a bit in the night too. I know it will pass, and am significantly more positive and happy than with DD1.

It is bloody exhausting with DD1 too though. I wonder how people with more than 2 cope. Or even want more than 2? Whims? Boo? Can you enlighten me?

Love and tired hugs to all. Screw unmumsnetty. I'm as mumsnetty as they come, and I DO HUGS.

NewYearNewBoo · 04/02/2013 14:20

Um, I cheated Smegs waited till one was a self sufficient teenager before starting again Grin

Toddly boo has been super cute today, he found my stash of new baby clothes and insisted that we put them all in the wash so they are ready :) bless him, got a bloody massive pile of cute white ironing to do now!

Brew for the super tired and super preggo's. Hope the triple whammiers are all ok.

NewYearNewBoo · 04/02/2013 14:21
GreenOlives · 04/02/2013 14:41

Hugs right back at you smegs, lovely to hear from you but sorry you're feeling so tired, I am more than a little nervous of the onslaught of sleepless nights and I was only saying on here the other day that my slightly bigger than planned age gap may be a massive blessing as I will have DS at school so only the baby to look after during the day and im wondering how I'll cope in the holidays!

little Poor DD and poor you! Hope the little mite is much better now the infection is out and that everyone gets some sleep tonight! Smile I have DS at home with me again today - his temperature spiked again last night so we had a rotten night too - he's just a snotty/coughy oik at the mo, no specific source of infection so I don't think it's worth a trip to the docs - just hope it clears up soon!

boo I shall be waiting for the next dream installment!! Grin

Well I finally have a plan in place for my delivery!! Had a growth scan today - very rough estimate as baby's head is partially engaged and therefore difficult to measure but they think it weighs around 7lbs 10 at the mo (37+1) Its abdo circumference is apparently measuring 4 weeks ahead of dates! Shock Anyhow, the plan is too try hard to encourage natural labour to start so I will have sweeps every 3 days starting at 39 weeks. If no joy with that I have an elcs booked for 4th March (41+1). I feel really pleased/relieved that things are all in place and it means that whatever happens I will have my baby by 4 weeks today! Grin Grin although ideally it will be sooner rather than later

GreenOlives · 04/02/2013 14:42

P.S boo You iron baby clothes?! I am in awe! Grin

GreenOlives · 04/02/2013 14:45

Just noticed my cross out fail! Why does that happen sometimes but not others?! Confused

NewYearNewBoo · 04/02/2013 14:56

Olives I am no super mum if that is what you are thinking, they get ironed once after the first wash and that's it till till learn how to iron their own clothes Grin Brooking that the sweeps get baby moving for you, but either way it is nice to have a definite birth plan in place.

Little I am sorry I forgot to post get wells for your dd, and sleep wells for the rest of you. Hope now the infection is out she will get better quickly.

Last night's dream was just plain odd, not much worth typing about. I think it has a lot to do with the smoking asthmatic and his chest infection grunting next to me all night, maybe tonight's dream will be better Wink

GreenOlives · 04/02/2013 17:33

Glad to hear its just the one iron they get boo! My mum irons knickers and towels!! Makes me tired just thinking about it! ;-) I used to iron the bed linen but I've stopped since my SPD started and I've decided im happy to always have creased sheets now! Grin

TheLittleFriend · 04/02/2013 20:01

Smegs, great to see you. I'm sure you're doing a cracking job looking after both your girls. Smile

Boo, my dd was interested in helping me sort the baby clothes for about 2 mins, but they were a very cute 2 mins!

Green, it's great that you have a plan in place. I think it sounds like a good one to. I've got a feeling yours will be the first tripe whammy baby we meet. Unless Bartlet's contractions have ramped up a gear.... Wink

TheLittleFriend · 04/02/2013 20:03

Oh, and this time round I'm afraid the baby clothes aren't even getting one iron. Nor the toddler clothes, or the adult clothes...Wink

Withalittlesparkle · 04/02/2013 20:37

I'm almost ashamed to say my mum has offered to wash and iron anything that I buy!! And I've snapped her hands off lol!

I popped in to see midwife today cus work has been hassling me for matb1 , so literally expected her to sign the form and send me on my way, but offered to let me listen to baby's heart beat, I love that little drumming sound so much!!!!

NewYearNewBoo · 04/02/2013 21:05

Oh Sparks I would too if dm was ever that thoughtful and how nice that the mw let you hear the little twinkle HB :) it is a lovely sound!

Little don't write your labour off yet, you could just sneeze, wasn't it you who had a super fast sneeze last time?

I have just finished the ironing, tis all sorted into sizes and ready to go away and wait for a little Booby to fill them Grin

Withalittlesparkle · 05/02/2013 09:37

Ladies I have my precious MatB1 form in my hands and now need to decide what I actually want to do with regards to maternity! What's then general consensus about how early to finish? I was thinking 4 weeks before but then I'm worried I'll get bored!! I'm already finding my 6 am starts a struggle.... Argh decisions!!!

ScrambledSmegs · 05/02/2013 10:59

E2 slept through the night!

Halle-flippin-lujah!

sparks, I gave up work at 38 weeks, and was 2 weeks overdue so not too bored. Was your mum late or early with her first? Amongst my friends & I that's been a good indicator.

Oh, I've discovered that if you tumble dry baby clothes, they don't need ironing! Love my tumble dryer Grin

Off to see Lincoln at baby cinema. Highbrow or wot Wink

Withalittlesparkle · 05/02/2013 12:43

smegs my mum was 3 weeks early with her first!!!! And I'm mirroring her pretty well at the moment all except the flavour of the baby!!

She took over 12 months to conceive (snap), found out at her fertility clinic appt she was pregnant (snapish), due end of June (snap) but arrived 3 weeks early.......

I'm so tempted to take 2 weeks AL at 36 weeks, then mat leave at 38 weeks!!!

NewYearNewBoo · 05/02/2013 12:54

That sounds very sensible Sparks a good plan!

Smegs so pleased that E2 has slept through, it makes such a difference :)
