NewYearNewBoo · 29/01/2013 20:40

Brilliant news on the gbs results Little :):)

Stacks · 30/01/2013 00:40

Quick lurking post. Plus grats to Little.

Withalittlesparkle · 30/01/2013 06:56

Great news little

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 11:07

Right ladies, look away now if you don't want tmi Blush I have just been to my gastro Dr, I have had extra skin tags on my bum for years cos of the crohns and what I thought were a couple of piles actually are these tags swollen up a little, he said just an over the counter cream would do it, anything you would usually use for piles, so wise ones, what do I use???

Also, if anyone has seen my dignity lying round, please pass it back Grin

whimsicalname · 30/01/2013 13:15

Apparently sudocrem works wonders boo

whimsicalname · 30/01/2013 13:17

Ooh I just spotted stacks lurking. How are you? Was wondering where you'd got to.

BartletForTeamGB · 30/01/2013 13:33

I'll second sudocrem as well, boo.

Good news, little.

sparks, hope the scan goes well. I feel quite jealous of people who get all excited about the scan and seem to think the main purpose is to find out the baby's sex, but I can completely understand your nerves.

Consultant has emailed me back, but there's not an actual plan yet. I replied and will give him until tomorrow (37 weeks for the triple whammiers tomorrow!) and then call his secretary or speak to the Supervisor of Midwives. I am okay, albeit a bit disappointed, about probably not having a home birth, but I would much prefer to be in the birth centre rather than the delivery suite.

GreenOlives · 30/01/2013 14:36

3rd vote for sudocrem here boo, worked wonders on my piles! Grin I think your dignity may be hanging out with mine somewhere! Wink Do you think we'll get it back before or after we've pushed something large out of our fanjo!! Grin
bartlet Hope you hear back from consultant tom. Not 37 weeks till Sunday for me, im lagging behind you and little!

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 14:44

Oh definitely after Olives not much chance before Grin

Right, off to hunt out that little free sample of sudocrem out of the really useless bounty pack :)

Bartlet I really hope your consultant replies and you can at least get the birth centre experience. Is there any chance of a HB?

I can't believe the tripe whammiers are 37 weeks Shock that is 3 babies in the next 5 weeks :):):) has someone warned post grads so they have the tea brewing cake in the oven and cushions plumped up ready for you all?

BartletForTeamGB · 30/01/2013 15:10

There are increased risks with this time so I don't think a HB would be a good idea. I think HBs are great for low risk mothers and babies and I am just not going to be one this time. The experience really doesn't matter ultimately. It is just the birth centre sounds all lovely (its quite new). I have delivered in the delivery suite before too, although that was clearly very different circumstances, and it wasn't, all things considered, a bad experience so I've got no worries about it. Just would rather be somewhere most conducive to an active birth if I can.

Will link on FB so you can have a look.

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 15:18

Oh such a shame about your HB, but the birth centre sound lovely, will pop over to fb and take a look. We have no choice anymore, they closed our local (2 minutes down the road) birth centre, so our hospital delivery suite or HB is the only option for my area. It doesn't make any difference for me, too high risk for the birth centre even when it was open and I am definitely not allowed a HB!! It's quite nice at the hospital, it was all refurbished and reopened the week before I had toddly boo, en suite, air con, mood lighting etc. I will be investigating what they have for an active labour this time though.

cartoontrickster · 30/01/2013 17:24

knock knock. can I come in?

whimsicalname · 30/01/2013 17:25

My dignity and I had a falling out some time in 2003 sparks. I haven't seen it since. I am currently bfing #4 in a car park. Monday I bfed in a bowling alley. The smelly shoes really brought something to the whole experience.

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 17:34

Squee Face you made it, welcome, pull up a seat, have a Brew put your feet up and settle in for the next few months Grin

Ooh Whims there certainly is something special about take odour of a bowling shoe

cartoontrickster · 30/01/2013 17:45

boo I'm still in shock. I'm like properly pregnant this time!

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 17:54

Yeah you are, actually properly completely diffed Grin

cartoontrickster · 30/01/2013 17:58

how strange. I was not properly prepared for this Smile

TheLittleFriend · 30/01/2013 18:17

Bartlet hope you get the answers you want tomorrow. The birth centre looks lovely.

Cartoon, welcome, pleased to have you here Smile. Have you had your early scan now?

Dd is worse today than she was yesterday Sad. Barely eaten and a burning temp. She's already in bed, I'm really hoping a good nights sleep will help. Seriously, how do people look after poorly toddlers when they have a new baby too? I can't imagine how I'm going to cope with that.

NewYearNewBoo · 30/01/2013 18:42

You will get used to it Face, I think I should start calling you Tricks now or some of the grads won't know who I mean Wink

Little I have been thinking worrying and panicky about that. I have come to the conclusion that the solution will present itself when it happens (I'm thinking the solution is Wine

Withalittlesparkle · 30/01/2013 18:53

FACE told you everything would be ok!!!!!

Ladies nearly made a really stupid mistake!! been telling everyone my appointment tomorrow is at 10.30, I wouldve been horrendously late, as I actually need to be there for 8.30!!!

cartoontrickster · 30/01/2013 18:54

hey little yes I had it today. measured 6+6. I thought I was 7+1 but he said that was fine and it was a good strong heart beat. there's a small area of bleeding above the sac which is a bit of a worry but hopefully it will settle.

clickingtock · 30/01/2013 20:08

Waving to all, especially cartoon. Thanks

GreenOlives · 30/01/2013 20:28

Really great news face You are now a scan endorsed pregnant person!! Grin Make yourself nice and comfy for the best 7 months or so! Grin
bartlet Brooking hard that you get to deliver at the Rosie - its looks lovely! The labour ward at my local hospital is, quite frankly, dire and there is no birth centre/MLU either Sad They have just announced plans for a MLU with building to start in the Spring but sadly too late for me!
little Poor DD, hope she's better soon for both your sakes! Not sure about how you manage baby + poorly toddler (or in fact baby + non-poorly toddler!) Despite wanting a closer age gap I am definitely seeing the benefits of DS being at school now DC2 is imminent im just worried about how I'll cope in the school holidays! Smile

clickingtock · 30/01/2013 20:51

Oh little missed poorly DD, bless her. Hope sleep helps. Fab about strep results. Thanks

I have to admit that looking after 2DC full time is quite challenging, though I'm glad for DS that he has me all the time while he adapts to having a sibling. I have been determined to keep up his routine, so we go out to play groups and classes - every day since week 2 of Astrid's life. Prettyknackering. Don't know what I'd do without my sling. And last night was the first time I got DP to do a short nightshift so I could get some rest from colicky DD. I think you just end up finding reserves of energy that you didn't know you had. DP has night out tonight so I treated myself to MnS ready meal. Grin Agree with Olives that a bigger age gap has definite benefits.
