Oh I'm so made up for you frus!!!
Our first confirmed boy and a monkey at that Grin

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 10/01/2013 14:16

I'm chuffed to pieces. DH is relieved that he won't be completely outnumbered.

Lorelei353 · 10/01/2013 14:27

Yay! Congrats Frus. Healthy wriggler is just what you want to see. Grin

Librarina · 10/01/2013 15:05

Ello All!

I have a very coy, upside-down baby with all fingers and toes and remarkably long legs. Baby wriggles when I giggle and refuses to show his or her bits to us, preferring to stick their bum in our faces. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come! Apparently I also have a nice placenta, which I am taking full credit for.

Having a lovely afternoon off work and pecking for a week in the sunshine flying off to the Canaries on Sat.

Much love to your wriggly ones x

Lorelei353 · 10/01/2013 15:18

Librarina sounds good to me! Were you hoping to find out if it was a boy or girl? I'm amused by it just sticking its bum out. I wonder how long we'll find that cute for Grin. Good work on your placenta-creation skills too. Top notch.

Jealous of you going to Canaries! DH and I are just planning a long weekend in Paris. I don't love to fly anyway but Eurostar have good prices right now!

bringonthetrumpets · 10/01/2013 17:12

Yay! Great news ladies!

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 10/01/2013 17:30

Yay for upsidedown baby libra, well done on your placenta creating skills (mine clearly didnt warrant comment)
I'm so jealous of sunny holiday.

kittykatsforever · 10/01/2013 19:26

Well lib that sounds the perfect week, a lovely healthy scan then off jet setting [envyhave you both stopped smiling yet?? Frus - shopping trips planned

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 10/01/2013 20:55

Not yet kitty Grin
Shopping trip would be great, but will have to wait for payday.

Blending · 11/01/2013 12:06

Great news Libra!

Started potty training DD yesterday. Not going well. Just ignoring me, refusing to sit on it at all.

Tried to show her by sitting on it, yesterday before bedtime. I got stuck and couldn't get up and had to call DH to rescue me Blush he was in pieces laughing. I'm about the size of 26 weeks or so and forgot I'm not as flexible.

Oh well, I thought she was ready, maybe not. Shes now trying to fashion a nappy out of her dolls blanket.

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 11/01/2013 12:59

Do you have potty training story books blending? I have a couple if you want them? I bought the AvaKid potty training app on my phone for dd, which worked for us.

kittykatsforever · 11/01/2013 13:12

Grin at image of self stick on potty ( sorry)
I tell dd when she sees me sat on the toilet is mummy on the potty and if I change her nappy say we do poo poos in the potty so she always brings me the potty ( after she's done a poo in her nappy usually sigh ) but she's getting the message
Frus ment to ask when the sonographer had a look at the sex was it obvious iyswim really interested

kittykatsforever · 11/01/2013 13:12

Blending were you not having another gender scan around now?!

Blending · 11/01/2013 13:35

Oh yes we've got some "I want my potty!" type books, which we read together, but can I find them now?????

She tried to climb on the loo just now and wet herself, as I was running behind her....so I cheered and wiped up the mess! ts the first time in 2 days that she shes shown any interest at all!

She doesnt want to sit on the potty at all. I've got a fancy one and 2 plain ones. You know the type that looks like a toilet and sings when you go? well she figured that if she touched both contacts in the bowl it would sing without peeing! Not that I've managed to get her to sit on any type, she will put her teddies on it though!

Lots of clips on YouTube like Elmos Potty time etc

Perhaps shes the type that a seat on the toilet would work better with.

I thought she was ready as she will tell me when she wants a poo, like you Kitty, either during or after the event!

Sorry I thought I posted about the scan- Most definately one of each! I'm still not sure I'll know what to do with a boy! My sister came as DH has had so much time off work already with IVF etc She'd never seen a scan before, so was awestruck.

Next scan 30th January.

Lorelei353 · 11/01/2013 14:56

Hey second scan graduates - do you need to do the whole 'drink 500ml of water 45 mins before' thing for this one? I got a letter with all the details for my first one because I booked the second one while still there, no-one mentioned it and I forgot to ask my midwife on Tuesday.

Jojobump1986 · 11/01/2013 15:03

Yay for all the exciting scans! I've got mine on Monday but I'm beginning to wonder if I might have to reschedule it at the last minute. My mum was supposed to be coming over to look after DS but she's my grandmother's carer so it was always going to be dependant on how Granny was feeling on the day. She's got Parkinson's & is almost certainly about to be diagnosed with bladder cancer. She had a scan to look at her bladder on Wednesday & they identified a large mass which the consultant privately told my mum did look cancerous but they won't know until they've got it out & can examine it. The biggest problem with that plan is that they can't operate until she's seen a cardiologist because she had a sudden irregular heartbeat a few weeks ago & has been on the waiting list ever since. She was taken to hospital today because the irregular heartbeat happened again. She's now waiting to be transferred to another hospital to have an angiogram which will probably show she

Jojobump1986 · 11/01/2013 15:09

... needs a stent fitting which they'll do ASAP. Tbh, I'm not convinced that she'll be strong enough to make it through that operation, let alone everything else she'll have to go through if she does have cancer. If she's not had the op before Monday then Mum can come over & look after DS without having to worry about her so much because she'll be in hospital with other people helping her. If they do manage to do it over the weekend then there's a v real possibility I'll have to cancel the appointment because I'll be over there helping with the funeral arrangements. Sad

Jojobump1986 · 11/01/2013 15:11

Lor the water shouldn't be an issue because your uterus is more accessible by this stage!

Lorelei353 · 11/01/2013 15:45

Thanks Jojo and osrry to hear about your granny. Sounds like an awful lot for her body to be going through all at once. Hope you're okay.

kittykatsforever · 11/01/2013 17:05

Yes sorry Jojo what a stressful time, is there anyone you could call on as a back up to help? Can you not bring ds with you and sit him in the buggy with a snack like raisins to keep him occupied maybe?
Blending congrats!!! As far as I'm aware you treat them both the same Wink you'll be fine, my nephew is 3 and just the most adorable child, loves baking and reading and is much more sedate and I guess what you'd call feminine compared to my dd, they all love singing dancing etc that's the great thing with children at that age, no embarrassment or limitations

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 11/01/2013 17:12

kitty she saw danglely bits about 4 times, although he did have the cord between his legs too, but it was clear when she pointed it out with the colour on for blood flow. there was definately nothing there with our girls. Although she did say that some girls can be a bit swollen. For one of ours we had a trainee, so had the sonographer going through in great detail about how and why you could tell it was a girl. Apart from the obvious lack of penis that is

jojo I'm sorry to hear about your granny, I hope she copes okay with the op.

lorelei I drank alot of fluids before, but in hindsight probably not needed as he was right up by my belly button so completely out of the pelvis area

In having a fat/full/tight day today. I feel very pregnant and uncomfortable. He's probably busy doing front to back stretching in there today.

Oh and I just had an idiot reverse into me. Huge dent in his bumper, not even a scratch on mine. He then tried to wiggle out of it until I pointed out I had my brake on and there was a big white van behind me who saw it. Some people are idiots.

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 11/01/2013 22:51

So the rest of this week didn't go so well for me. Had a bad seizure at work on Wednesday afternoon and was taken to A&E, where I ended up having four more. Had another one yesterday. Little one seems to be ok thankfully (and we now know we are having a little girl), but I feel thoroughly awful. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can be discharged tomorrow and for no more seizures.

Jojo I am really sorry about your granny and hope she gets through all of this ok.

Jojobump1986 · 11/01/2013 23:02

Places Are you having to change your meds because of the pregnancy? I'm glad it's not causing problems for your little girl! It's so annoying that this has happened just when things seemed to be going so well for you! Hope you feel better soon. Your BF better be taking extra good care of you for a while! Wink

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 11/01/2013 23:16

Thanks Jojo. Apparently seizures can get worse during pregnancy for some women. Lets hope this does not happen again. I fell pretty badly during the first seizure and hit my head against something, so needed stitches. Didn't properly come around until Thursday morning (thanks to seizures + they knocked me out with meds), but was so worried that little one would have also gotten hurt and the effect of the medications. BF is currently sleeping in chair next to me and has refused to go home since being called by my colleagues on Wednesday.

Jojobump1986 · 11/01/2013 23:33

Awww bless him, that's so sweet! I hope your head heals quickly. Do you think you'll have to take time off work now or will you just keep going in the hope that it doesn't happen again?
