Not had torn up sheets yet.

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 06/01/2013 18:34

I once punched in a mirror... not the best move in retrospect. Hmm

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 06/01/2013 19:03

I sat on a mirror once had to have stitches on my bum, oh the shame Blush

kittykatsforever · 06/01/2013 19:24

Every mirrored photo frame
I thought she was a whirlwind of destruction but now think I'm maybe lucky......

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 06/01/2013 19:43

Haha yeah count your blessings. I got through eleven foster placements...

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 06/01/2013 19:51

11 placements? How old we're you when you were destructive?

3 iPads, 1 tv, every ornament I owned, a shelving unit, 2 sets of hearing aids, cups, glasses, plates, bowls, (I now have plastic plates) oh and the mushrooms seem to be in for it today.

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 06/01/2013 20:06

Well I was taken into care when I was nine, so maybe until I was 13 or so. That was kind of the worst time behaviour wise I think.

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 06/01/2013 21:02

That's a tough age at the best of times places let alone with the uncertainty of being passed between 11 sets of foster carers.

Lorelei353 · 07/01/2013 15:04

sounds like there was a lot of cleaning/nesting going on this weekend!

My nesting hasn't exactly kicked in but my DH is a man on a mission. We live in a 2 bed apartment, and the spare room is generally just storage of stuff we don't need and laundry. So, did a massive clearout yesterday and have piles of stuff to go to charity shops. DH was like a Tasmanian devil going through it all! He's very organised (thankfully). Feels great to have it done.

Places sounds like you had a tough time of it growing up. Glad to hear you seem to have come out of it pretty well though and you and your DH are getting yourselves nice and set up.

My yoga class was great by the way. Feels so good to be back doing yoga again. I really missed it. The class was lovely and restorative and the women in it were all really nice. About 1/3 of the class are having their babies in the same hospital as me so hopefully I'll get to know them a bit better as time goes on. They do tea and biscuits after the class but I didn't know that and had to run to meet DH. Will stay next week and chat.

Librarina · 07/01/2013 22:51

My DH has started to nest too.... He spent the weekend going through all his old band tshirts, cutting off the pictures then throwing the rest away...bless!

Well good news in the LibrarianAli house is...I have existing immunity to Slapped Cheek so no risk to my baby, yay! Am mightily relieved!

Just a quickie post, soo very tired xx

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 07/01/2013 23:07

Yay that is good news libra

lorelei glad yoga was good, and new bumpy friends.

I went back to work today. Was very uneventful.

Lorelei353 · 07/01/2013 23:11

Librarina great news on the immunity front. Your comment made me laugh. I got rid of a load of my old band t-shirts. They were so hard to part with. I kept two of my oldest and favourite.

MarkGruffalohohoho · 07/01/2013 23:28

Evening all

Please may I join you? Grabs seat by the emergency exit for ease of throwing up. Have not got rid of the festive hos yet but am normally Mark Gruffalo although have had about six name changes in the last four years...

Am due 2nd June - little boy- and everything fine touch wood...except the panicking about giving birth. Ooh and the acid relux, bronchitis, cystitis, incontinence and painful bf of toddler sibling who just wants to kick and jump on stomach.

Saw What to expect when you are expecting on dvd yesterday - the muscular guy from magic mike was a highlight, the rest was a bit hmm.

Have to catch up on your other threads but would like to come aboard if I may - not used to luxury buses, usually stuck on economy coach or the national express (that said I don't live in UK anymore but when I last took the national express in Easter 2011 it was really really nice and amazingly cheap. Starts humming Divine Comedy).

Am wibbling. Hope yopu are all more blooming and less aciddy than me Smile

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 07/01/2013 23:50

Hi MG welcome aboard, make yourself comfy, are you across the pond or somewhere exotic?

My ms seems to have passed (except the odd morning), expecting a few more safe weeks before my acid reflux kicks in proper. You sound very I'll, but I can sympathise with small child jumping on bump, dd2 decided to sit on my lap and push the bump earlier. Ouch.
Is this dc2 for you?

I'm ignoring the inevitable birth for the time being will panic when BH start must book my tens.

I'm supposed to be asleep but DH is snoring LOUDLY.

Jojobells1986 · 08/01/2013 08:27

Welcome, MG! Smile

I'm giving up on this morning. My house is now completely de-Christmas-ed so the living room is looking v bare & depressing. I made DS ready brek & managed to tip it all over my hand whilst taking it out of the microwave & 2 of my fingers still hurt. DS then refused to eat at least a third of what was left. Normally he'd have eaten all of what originally went in the microwave. He also dribbled milk everywhere & required huge amounts of shoving persuasion to get him to climb the stairs. I'd have given up & carried him if I didn't have a cold cup of tea in my non-burnt hand. As if I wasn't having enough trouble, DH decided to come back in & stand in the hall when DS was only half way up the stairs so of course he was more interested in trying to turn around to see him than continuing his snail's pace up the stairs. So that's it. This morning is cancelled. I give up trying to get us into a sensible routine. We'll have a nap for a few hours & see if the whole world decides to stop being difficult when we wake up! (Did I mention I didn't sleep well last night & today was supposed to be the first day of all getting up early & having breakfast together?! It didn't quite go according to plan...!)

Hope everyone else is having a better day!

FrustratedSycamoreIsNesting · 08/01/2013 09:27

Morning jojo well I got the dds to school with most of their relevant stuff. Getting dressed was interesting, dd2 didn't want to. Got them to school in one piece. Dd2 only had a 10minute screaming fit at school and only stripped once before calming down. So went really well. Grin

And I managed to do the school run without needing a wee. although going before I left the house, didnt stop me needing to go 15 minutes later. Get off my bladder bubs.

What am I going to do today with no children? oh yeah, practice my signing with dds communication worker, and then shift some beds for my friend, not lifting, just transporting, the joy of a huge car)

Felt bubs higher than usual last night, just above my belly button to the side, bubs is really bouncing about in there. Anyone else got movement?

Lorelei353 · 08/01/2013 11:50

Welcome aboard the comfy bus MG. Plenty of room for more passengers.

Just had my midwife appt. (what should've been the 16 week one). All test results were good but I did find out that I've O Negative blood type, which I never knew (have never needed to find out). So, need to start looking into all that means for future pregnancies and the whole anti-D thing. Anyone else got a negative blood type?

bringonthetrumpets · 08/01/2013 14:09

Hey ladies.

Finally made it home. Oh good lord am I exhausted. I can't even remember the last time I posted...it's hard to get to the computer when in-laws are everywhere! So glad the holidays are over and we can just get back to normal life. I have 3 suitcases full of laundry to do and grocery shopping, but looking forward to taking advantage of the jetlag and going to bed at 7 :)

Loving all of the movements! We're up to feeling at least one kick a day and DH hasn't been able to feel anything yet, but hopefully soon. DSs 1&2 have decided to name the baby "Spider Monkey" so now DS1 comes up and rubs my belly saying "good morning spider monkey!" It's very cute!

Hope everyone is well. Haven't had the chance to catch up on everyone's posts, but will hopefully will be able to start posting more!

kittykatsforever · 08/01/2013 18:33

Hello all and welcome mg Grin
Great news on the all clear lib, that is a nice relief!
Did you get to hear the heart beat lor? Not sure about the bloods??
Welcome home bringon, hope you had a great if not stressful trip and stocked up on English dinners!!
Frus I feel bubs everyday quite often now but she is very very low, used Doppler and you can only hear hb just above bikini line Hmm is that weirdly low at this stage?
20wk scan tomorrow, so excited and scared, praying for everything to be ok
Jojo sorry you've had a shit morning, sounds auful and there's nothing worse when dc messes with food or tips a bowl etc, very frustrating, I try and encourage dd to always climb the stairs and know what you mean when sometimes everything is more interesting on the journey then actually climbing! Hope your hand feels better

kittykatsforever · 08/01/2013 18:35

Oh and I've been like a mad woman today, literally just sat down after day of with dd and shopping up a storm then having play date and making lunch for us all then making lasagna and morrocan chicken soup, I know this isn't that interesting but want someone to say rest as dh won't Grin

Lorelei353 · 08/01/2013 20:33

kitty no we didn't hear heartbeat. She said she doesn't do that until the 28 week appointment (my next appt. at 22 weeks is with my GP instead).

That said I was glad he was there to a) confirm his positive blood type and b) hear all that info with me as it was a lot to take in. It's not a massive issue as far as I can tell - just have one injection around 28 weeks and another when the baby is born if the baby has a positive blood type.

Just been looking into antenatal classes. Trying to decide whether doing the NCT ones is worth it. NHS in my area does three 2 hour classes - one each on what to do with a newborn, labour and childbirth and breastfeeding. Most people who do the NCT ones seem to get a good friendship group out of it, more than good information. Not sure it's worth it to be honest.

trumpets Welcome back!

bringonthetrumpets · 08/01/2013 22:15

Oh Kitty, that sounds exactly like my day! Ridiculous amounts of grocery shopping with two jet-lagged boys, cooking, and laundry. I feel like a domestic goddess. I'm excited to hear about your 20 week scan! We see the midwives next week and will determine when our scan is, I'm excited but I have to stay strong and not find out!

Lor- the injections are relatively straight forward and from the research, there are very low risk factors. It would just be an issue if you feel adversed to blood products, as that's what RhoGAM is made out of.

With #1 we opted to take private childbirth classes in Nottingham and they were most definitely worth the money! We did make friends in the class, but we felt really prepared too. Not sure on your location, but you could look to see if Bradley or Lamaze childbirth ed classes are offered privately by doulas or educators in your area. Those two are FAB for information and preparation for birth, breastfeeding, and taking care of the newborn.

kittykatsforever · 08/01/2013 22:18

I wondered the same lor felt we'd normally be the "type" youd expect to nct, 30's decent jobs etc but decided I didnt want to spend on something I could get for free and met one of my now best friends at the nhs one and I'd say I liked everyone in my group ( dh confessed he was worried about chavs) but that wasn't the case at all so up to you really, if I paid think I'd do the freebies too though
Sorry she didn't try for hb but glad dh didn't feel it was a wasted trip off work

OhThePlacesYoullGo · 09/01/2013 07:34

Every time NCT courses are mentioned I can't help think of . It is possibly one of the funniest things I have ever seen...

kittykatsforever · 09/01/2013 08:00

LMAO very good places!! Grin
