MrsBri · 28/11/2012 17:54

From your midwife, probably after your 20 week scan. :-)

And yay to Lor!! Your DH sounds lovely. :-) So pleased for you.

And even more full of scan envy! 13 days til mine :-(

Peardrop has her next one before I get my first proper one!

kittenskittenskittens · 28/11/2012 20:12

Congrats lor, sounds wonderful. If you want to put your scan picture on so we can have a coo!
Good luck tomoz lib, I'm sure it will be great!
Dont worry Nic it will come round soon enough, I'm defo considering a sexing scan in 2 weeks, I'm so impatient too lol
Can't believe 14 wks today!!

MrsBri · 28/11/2012 20:35

Ha ha, Kitten :-) I'm really hoping to resist the urge of a sexing scan!

I am considering saying I don't want to be tested for Down's, etc, as I don't think I'd get rid of the baby anyway, so I'm not sure I'd want to know. I'm not sure. Still got a couple of weeks left to discuss it with DH and see what he says.

bringonthetrumpets · 28/11/2012 23:53

Cuteness of the day: Ds#2 (2.5 yrs) told me that he has a baby in his tummy and it gets drinks from it's "binkle cord". Made my heart melt! He's so serious about it as well.

Librarina · 29/11/2012 06:40

Oh Trumpets that is cute! Cheered me up a treat on this morning that I can't sleep.

Why does insomnia strike on the day I have a lie in?
My lovely boss said I didn't have to go in to work this morning before the scan appt. I think she knows I'd be utterly useless!

Lorelei353 · 29/11/2012 10:08

good luck today Librarina. I'm sure you'll get a lovely little heartbeat too.

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Such fun telling people now! Hoping to tell work today if I can get my manager and head of dept. in the same place at the same time.

bring that's SO cute. When my sister was over at the weekend she had her little one with her (2 yrs and 10 months). We didn't really tell her that I was pregnant as we didn't want her going home and telling my Dad or anything, but out of nowhere she told me that she's a big girl and wants to have a baby in her tummy. So cute.

Jojoba1986 · 29/11/2012 13:10

Have you had your scan yet Lib?

I love the things kids say! Smile

bringonthetrumpets · 29/11/2012 14:41

Well, I have a model fetus and placenta complete with umbilical cord (stupid expensive thing I had to buy for school) and the boys play with it and tell me all the parts. Only a midwife's kids I guess...

Sounds frustrating Lib! I hate when that happens. Hopefully you get some great photos from the scan!

Lorelei353 · 29/11/2012 15:03

God, I'm such an idiot.

I just told my manager and head of dept. that I'm pregnant and burst into tears before I could get the words out. I'm so embarrassed Blush. I'm not feeling very well (rotten headcold) and was nervous about telling them and it all just spilled out through my eyes.

My head of dept. jumped up and gave me a hug and laughed off the tears. He was really lovely about it. My manger just looked at me like I was mental and said 'ok'. Nothing else. He's such a joyless jerk.

MrsBri · 29/11/2012 18:03

Oh no, Lor! Ignore him...men are useless!

Awesome toy, trumpets. :-)

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 29/11/2012 18:32

Has anyone felt movement yet?
I swear I just felt a flump, I was lying on my belly and had a definate flump in the right area. Grin

MrsBri · 29/11/2012 19:47

That'll be baby flinging himself around while there's room! :-)

Jojoba1986 · 29/11/2012 19:52

Yeah, I've been feeling the occasional flutter for a couple of weeks now. They're getting stronger & more kick like just recently! I was 17 weeks before I felt anything last time!

kittenskittenskittens · 29/11/2012 20:11

Not me Sad and have honistly layed still thinking can I?! But no nothing, didnt feel anything last time till 19 wks either so not really too surprised!
Hope lib is ok, hate when it takes a while for people to update I start panicking

Jojoba1986 · 29/11/2012 21:31

Me too, kitty, I keep checking to see if she's come back! Do you think one of us should pm her or shall we just wait & see?

peardrop2 · 29/11/2012 21:32

I have so much I want to comment on today but I'm really struggling to remember :-/ yay for the happy scan Lor :-)

I woke up this morning with terrible burping like something is stuck in my throat. I had this at the start of the 1st trimester. I don't think it's heartburn although my throat feels a bit burny. trumpets is what I'm describing heartburn? I really hope it goes tomorrow because its a real pain and I've totally lost my appetite!

kittenskittenskittens · 29/11/2012 21:46

I think maybe wait till tomorrow Jojo, hopefully she's just been busy celebrating and telling people, hope so, it's so nerve wrecking this growing babies milarkey!
Thank goodness for the weekend tomorrow

Librarina · 29/11/2012 21:59

Hi, sorry I'm late - although it's nice having people to worry about me. Scan was lovely, DH & I both welled up! I was glad they were running 30 mins late cos I really didn't need a wee when we got there, but by the time I went in, I got praised for my lovely full bladder!

So, I couldn't really see cos my eyesight isn't great, but DH saw the heartbeat and I def saw a little baby sitting up, and wriggling a bit. Sonographer said it was bonny and doing everything a baby of that gestation should. Dated me as 12.6, so I was only 3 days out, which isn't bad on a 56 day cycle!

Anyway, I've popped the picture up so you can play 'Guess the sex' if you like!

Thanks for the good wishes, I was very very nervous and now I'm very very happy. Just need to tell the parents!

Jojoba1986 · 29/11/2012 22:38

Boy. I've decided! Grin Glad it all went well. Enjoy telling everyone & don't ever scare us like that again! Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 29/11/2012 23:22

Could be heartburn pear. People tend to experience it differently. Have you noticed it when you eat certain foods or a lot of water/drinks with meals? I completely agree, it is so NOT fun. Hope it gets better for you! There are great natural soothers called papaya enzymes (probably could find them in Hollands and Barretts or a natural food store) and they're a lot more pregnancy-friendly than things like Tums or Gaviscon. Also keeping in mind which foods tend to trigger it (usually tomatoes or citrus fruits) or positions like laying down after meals tends to make it worse. Hth!

MrsBri · 30/11/2012 06:31

Morning all!

Missed all of yesterday evening's chat...I was asleep by 8.20pm. Had about 9 hours overall, which never happens! Nice :-)

Hope your heartburn buggers off, Pear.

kittenskittenskittens · 30/11/2012 07:15

Glad everything went ok lib but Jojo is right, don't scare us like that again, clearly we are the first port of call with scan news etc Grin
Another tricky photo, I havnt been able to call anyone's and felt for sure as I'm clearly a nub expert now I could!

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 30/11/2012 09:26

lib it's a boy, hands behind head.

OP posts:
Librarina · 30/11/2012 09:58

I thought it had its little arms behind its head as well! Which is funny becuase I go to sleep on my tummy but wake up on my back with my arms behind my head! I have decided it must be a very chilled little baby.

Does anyone else suddenly feel a lot fonder of their little Bean once they've seen a picture?
