I actually need to scrub my kitchen floor - it could definitely do with it, but now i know it doesn't automatically bring on labour i'm not sure i can face it!

Iheartpasties · 11/11/2012 08:10

kirrin I certainly shant bother again, ever!

pikz · 11/11/2012 08:15

It's off my to do list for today now...

Cacacaz · 11/11/2012 08:15

Woke up at 4.20 contractions started off about one every 10 minutes, coming around every 6 or 7 minutes so far. Keeping my fingers crossed that today will be the day I get to meet my baby!

Iheartpasties · 11/11/2012 08:19

cacacaz very excited for you, little bit jealous too :) keep us posted. Good luck to you.

applepieinthesky · 11/11/2012 08:47

Sounds like this could be it cacacaz. Fingers crossed for you.

MM my mum said the same to me yesterday - that my face is rounder Hmm err.. thanks.

Yay a new recruit Smile Welcome tomanydicks. The babies are coming fast and furious now and we feel a little but deserted. I'm due Friday but nothing happening here, not even any Braxton Hicks lately.

applepieinthesky · 11/11/2012 08:48

*little bit. Just woken up Confused

Passmethecrisps · 11/11/2012 08:53

Morning! Who are all the babies on the Facebook group? We have peaky but not sure about the nn of other lady.

Re scrubbing floors - mine have never been so clean and it's made bigger all difference.

DH been out to get pre-induction breakfast. Not sure I'll be able to eat . . .

ComradeJing · 11/11/2012 08:58

Congratulations to all new mummies and babies :)

I have a question about my due date if anyone can help?

First scan was 5/6 wks with no heart beat and put my edd as the 21st. This tallied with the neg pg tests I had done.

Next scan was 8 wks with heart beat and brought my dd forward to the 17th. This meant my last neg pg test was wrong.

Next scan was 12 wks and brought my dd forward to the 9th or 12th. This made the last 2 pg tests wrong.

We've been going on the 17th as I was told its most accurate from 8 wks or when a hb is visible but that means my last ng pg test should have been positive. I thought this almost never happened?

What would you put as my edd?

StuntNun · 11/11/2012 09:03

Comrade whatever they told you at the 12 week scan is most accurate. Definitely don't change dates on account of pregnancy tests as these can vary depending on what time of day you test.

Iheartpasties · 11/11/2012 09:03

comrade they just love to go from an early scan date even if it does not tally up with your own dates. I dont really get it!

Iheartpasties · 11/11/2012 09:05

I had an 8 week scan and a 12 week scan and they preferred to take the date from the 8 week one. Which I felt did not tally with my calculations, but here I am with no baby so what do I know!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 11/11/2012 09:07

Thanks for all the congrats. Everything going well here. Just marking my place so I can keep tabs on you lovely ladies birth announcements. Look forward to chatting more on the post natal thread. Good luck!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 11/11/2012 09:09

Morning everyone! No babies born overnight then? We're having a practise run at filling the birth pool today, starting to really question my own logic of having a home birth Hmm. Exciting developments Cacacaz

pikz · 11/11/2012 09:11

Good luck pass and good luck cazcaz

I have 3 dates from 3 different scans, 19th, 20th and 21st. I therefore say the 20th but sometime that week.

It's all a bit hit and miss isn't it...

kalidasa · 11/11/2012 09:11

Woken by what I thought was a mild contraction last night (like period pain) but it only happened twice. Oh well! Only 37+2 so not very likely anyway. Baby feels lower though. ToManyDicks my dd is the 30th so you're not alone!

kirrinIsland · 11/11/2012 09:13

comrade it's false positives that almost never happen, false negatives are very common. Go with your scan dates, that's the most accurate - although even that's just a best guess I think!

toomany welcome :)

Good luck cacacaz - sounds promising!

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 11/11/2012 09:14

Excellent kalisasa, I wonder how close to Christmas we'll be!

Chunkychicken · 11/11/2012 09:38

Adding to the contraception debate: the best one is a 2.6yo... Seriously, DH and I just start getting 'into' it and in DD walks, half asleep, wanting a cuddle. DH left v frustrated Hmm. Although, after a cuddle, we plonked DD in front of cBeebies and popped back upstairs Grin

I don't want to get my hopes up, but since I have had a couple of 'insistent' BH and one almost proper contraction - where you have to walk/breathe because it feels like your back is being squeezed hard too. If I do go into labour, I will never get away from the 'super sperm' comments!!! Wink

applepieinthesky · 11/11/2012 09:49

DP is back to work today after a week off and after spending half the week moaning at him I actually miss him already. He has only been gone 2 hours. I don't know what to do with myself today..

CharleeWarlee · 11/11/2012 09:57

Morning all!

Went to my cousins birthday party last night at 8pm - just to show my face and have 1 coke. Ended up getting back at 12.30!! Was sat in the pub getting the most uncomfortable pains ever, thought I may have had to call an ambulance as I was the ONLY one sober, apart from the bar staff and little 7 yr old kids!

Got home, came to bed with the logic that if I couldn't sleep then it would be labour and would call an ambulance. Woke up an hour later for a wee and pain had vanished Sad

DP came to bed at 5.30 this morning. My brother came back with us so they carried on the drinking session downstairs and watched the inbetweeners.

Needless to say, in his state he jumped on me Grin we DTD, I couldnt be assed to get up so fell back asleep bearing his love juice and all...Woke up at 7.30 with what I thought was my waters, but no, was just the remains Blush tmi sorry!

Am having niggles again though!

YellowWellies · 11/11/2012 10:22

I had the coil fitted pre babies - and was told that insertion would hurt like f*ck as I'd not had a baby before - seriously it was no worse than an examination in labour. Though they didn't bother me (something about having contractions every minute meant I didn't notice them!!!). I only took paracetamol to take the edge off the coil being fitted and removed. My only downside with it was a worse period and real bastard back ache / bloating at certain times of the month. Was v nice not to be on hormonal contraception or condoms which totally spoil the moment!

StuntNun · 11/11/2012 10:30

My DH had just told me he's only taking one week of paternity leave! I understand that he's under pressure at work but why am I only finding this out at 40+3. Jeez, I hope I don't have to have a section if I'll be doing the school run one week after giving birth. I couldn't have managed that with either of my previous labours; it was ten days after DS1 (CS) before I could get out of the house and my episiotomy stitches came open after DS2 so there's no way I could have got about easily after a week. Oh well I suppose it will be practice for when he's away in Japan for a week at the end of November.

stunt oh! Was it you who had issues with childcare with your fil when you go into labour? has that been sorted yet?

ComradeJing · 11/11/2012 10:46

Thanks for the edd info and for the neg pg test vs false pos info. Will stick with 17th and just see what happens.
