Morning all. Congratulations Jing and Charlee. I'd love a birth like yours Jing.

Still nothing happening and DH is getting antsy - he wants time off work!

We DTD last night which brought on some period like cramps but not gone anywhere. Dh is also ill so although he wants baby to come now I'm not sure I want to go into labour while he's ill - he needs to be focused on me, not his cold!!!

Cacacaz · 19/11/2012 12:11

Oh and on the breastfeeding lansinoh is amazing as are gel pads that can be warmed or cooled and placed inside your bra. They have totally eased my engorgement/blocked milk duct. I bought them from boots yesterday and in less than 24 hours the difference is phenomenal. Much better than warm flannels, hot shower and warm flannels

ShellyBobbs · 19/11/2012 14:52

Congratulations Comrade and Charlee

applepieinthesky · 19/11/2012 15:25

Congrats comrade and charlee. Here's hoping the rest of the babies get a move on as well. Come on little ones!

cacacaz Cassius had his heel prick test today and I agree it is heartbreaking hearing him cry because he's hurt. Pleased with his weight though - he has gained and is up from 7lb7 to 7lb 11 Smile

CharleeWarlee · 19/11/2012 16:27

Thankyou everyone!

Me and baby Zara are now home, i'm very sore and tired but so worth it!

Got the pessary in at 11, started having mild period pains...bounced on a ball, walked the hospital corridors for ages!!! When they put the pessary in they told me I had a bishops score of 2 and would most likely be having a c section in the morning(Monday) as chances of my cervix coming forward wasnt very good.

I got examined at 5pm, although I did have to ask! Midwife said she doubted there would be much difference but when checked I was 2cm dilated.

Waters went at 7.30 and baby Zara arrived into the world t 8.30pm. Have a 2nd degree tear and did it on only gas and air and shat for england

So worth it!

TheDetective · 19/11/2012 16:41

Congratulations Charlee! Superfast baby there!! Are you sure your didn't grease up the insides for her Wink.

MissMummy1 · 19/11/2012 16:54

Wow charlee that's good going!

Eventually managed a couple of hours sleep this morning. Well lunchtime. I am wrecked. I don't want this baby today. (okay I do, but without the effort...)

Detective I'm going to pick your brains on something. My back pain is now spreading across my lower back and is at the stage I was almost in tears trying to walk up the stairs earlier (I am very pathetic). DP is adament it's the start of something. What do you think? I thought sciatic nerve too but not convinced anymore.

TheDetective · 19/11/2012 17:17

It could well be MM. Does it come and go? It is constant? Worse when walking? Have you taken anything for it? Paracetomol? Did it help?!

MissMummy1 · 19/11/2012 17:25

It's fairly constant but so much worse when I try and move. Walking is almost impossible. I don't want to take anything but paracetamol is a tempting offer right now!

TheDetective · 19/11/2012 17:27

Are you kind of dragging your legs and avoiding bending them when walking? Doing that 'ow ow ow' thing when you are walking and feeling unsteady?! Feel like you need someone to push you up the stairs because it hurts?!

MissMummy1 · 19/11/2012 17:33

Sort of yeah. I couldn't bend to empty the dishwasher and the thought of having to go upstairs again is making me want to cry (again). I might sleep (ha...) down here tonight... A warm bath is now making no difference either. Sad

MissMummy1 · 19/11/2012 17:34

And yeah, trying not to 'ow ow ow' every time I move as him indoors is freaking out!

YellowWellies · 19/11/2012 17:36

Wooooo MM

TheDetective · 19/11/2012 17:38

Still sounds a little like sciatic, or muscular type pain.

I only know this because I keep doing it to myself on a regular basis - but bending or twisting stupidily...! Or lying stupidly... generally doing stupid stuff

Try some paracetomol - it didn't do much for me, but it might help you! And a hot water bottle?

I just ow ow ow my way through it and throw daggers at anyone looking my way Wink.

If it is anything to do with labour, you will eventually know about it! It will get stronger and stronger and stronger...!

MissMummy1 · 19/11/2012 18:00

I'm not getting my hopes up that it's anything. I'm most likely just being a huge wimp! (nevertheless MrMummy has been sent out to put fuel in the car and buy pick n mix )

TheDetective · 19/11/2012 18:01

I think tthat sounds like a good plan! I make DP hoover everytime I get any strong tighenings haha! And he has to check the fridge for supplies Wink.

Be prepared!!!

SwissArmyWife · 19/11/2012 18:03

MM could be spd? My back/hips/legs always hurt, I can't walk up stairs either. If hot things aren't working try an ice pack as it could be swelling that's causing the pain.

Passmethecrisps · 19/11/2012 18:18

Dib dib db detective!

Sounds dead painful mm.

I am sitting nested on the sofa at the moment with a suckling LO! On her one week birthday she seems to have decided it was worth a shot. I have to keep one hand on my boob though or I would suffocate her! I am not 100% convinced how much She is actually getting - too used to the bottle I think.

YellowWellies · 19/11/2012 18:26

Don't worry Pass the more she is on your boob the more she will adjust to it.

Given the choice, and where they are physically able, most prefer the boob as it's warm being cuddled up against you, and has your heartbeat and smell associated with it.

As well as being four weeks early J was bottle fed on and off for the first three weeks with EBM to combat jaundice but he is now a total boob monster - he turned his nose up at his first bottle last night (bit gutted as we'd wanted to keep up both but it might have just been a one off will see if he takes it tonight).

She will do it - just keep believing in her and yourself - you're doing amazingly. Practice makes perfect and the more she suckles the more milk your body will produce. Am so chuffed for you xx

Passmethecrisps · 19/11/2012 18:32

thanks YW.

FatimaLovesBread · 19/11/2012 21:18

Evening everyone. Just a quick post
Congratulations to charlee and comrade

Funeral this morning was both awful and lovely, had a good cry. There were so many people there, church was full. Went to the wake for an hour or so but had some pains so thought it best to go home. We treated ourselves to a KFC bucket and spent the afternoon and evening watching crap on tv. I've been having quite a few pains but nothing of any significance.

Feeling crap this evening, v uncomfortable, v fed up and out of sorts, almost ill. Just don't feel right so not sure if something is afoot. Saying that ill probably be feeling the same and still here next Monday Smile

FatimaLovesBread · 19/11/2012 21:18

Sorry for the complete me post!

SwissArmyWife · 19/11/2012 21:30

Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish fatima - sounds like you need a good nights sleep and some tlc. When is your due date?

I'm feeling pretty rubbish too, had an awful headache all day, paracetamol has not helped!

FatimaLovesBread · 19/11/2012 21:34

Thanks swiss
Due on Friday. I don't think it helps that my consultant appointment is on Wednesday and I was hoping the baby would arrive before then so I wouldn't have to discuss induction at term. Looks like I'm going to have to start thinking about it again. Also, feel a bit worried that the way I feel at the moment that ill succumb to my anxiety easier when labour does start, so trying to keep positive.

I think a good kip will help, it's been a busy few days Smile
