Hello ladies!

Good luck charlee! Looking forward to more newborn piccies to ogle over on Facebook.

waiting fingers crossed that something is starting - sounds awfully like it.

I am trying to remember if my MIL asked about stitches. I was a touch delirious when I saw them so it is entirely possible! Actually, I got very used with the complete indignity of childbirth very quickly. DH was watching me massaging my boobs before expressing and was recollecting how even immediately before giving birth I would cover my boobs with my hands if I was bra-less. How life changes!

I have been so sorry to hear of detective's ongoing troubles. That uterus must be hella comfy that's for sure. I so hope that she gets the birth she wants.

In answer to the boob question - mine stayed quite soft right up until my milk coming in. Now they are permanently rock solid.

Brockle · 18/11/2012 13:11

My baby is so low it could prob wave at me when I am on the loo. However from past experience I know I could be like this for a week or more Sad Anyone been getting a bit shakey if they have not eaten for a couple of hours? Drinking loads of water but this is the third day that I have felt really shakey if I haven't eaten for a while. Its not like I have been starving myself or anything. Weird or not?

WaitingForMe · 18/11/2012 13:28

I have conceded I'm probably in labour Grin

Contractions lasting 30 secs every half hour or so. DH missed the last one though as I've got the hang of getting my breathing timed and just got through it. Apparently the screaming was helpful Hmm

georgee · 18/11/2012 13:41

OOoh Waiting how exciting! Remember to breathe into your abdomen and turn down that dial when you need to!! (Can you tell I've just listened to my CD!)

Jaylee thank you, that helps a lot. Gulp.

We've just had the car valeted. The other day I was getting DD out of the back and noticed loads of mould in the stairwell just by her seat, no doubt from months of crumbs from eating toddler snacks in the back. Bad mummy! Really, what I'm going to be like with two I cannot imagine.

Brockle just eat eat eat, you must be gearing up - I call it carboloading, you know, like you do before a marathon. By now the amount of energy we must be expending just keeping those babies growing in there must be fairly substantial. Personally I never let myself get too hungry - I'm about to polish off an entire quiche now, for example ...

SwissArmyWife · 18/11/2012 15:33

Good luck waiting :)

I have decided I do not want this baby today. I have an awful stomach bug. I've been throwing up every ten minutes since last night :( I can't keep fluids down either, is this dangerous for the baby? I've been drinking and drinking but it just keeps coming back up. The stomach cramps are so painful :(
I also can't walk properly due to spd, it seems to be getting worse.

What's more is DP also has the bug so I had to call my mum to take DD out for the day, neither of us are capable of doing anything other than sleeping and puking.

I don't know wether to call the hospital about it or not.

georgee · 18/11/2012 15:42

Hi Swiss - call the hospital if nothing's staying down, just to see what they say. When I had this bug last weekend I managed eventually with tiny, tiny sips, not too much at once. You could suck a wet flannel maybe or chew an icecube, just to get a bit of moisture in there. The baby is so developed by now I'm sure it's not too much of an issue but worth talking to someone just to check.

Bloomin horrible isn't it. Sympathies!

SwissArmyWife · 18/11/2012 16:24

Thanks georgee, i've managed to sip half a pint of water and not been sick in about 20 minutes now so fingers crossed it'll stay down. It's awful because you feel sick from the bug and on top of that feel sick from being so empty!
I actually had a bug late in my first pregnancy too, my mum said it might be 'my thing' before I give birth. Sorry DP
Apparently she always got a cold at the end of her pregnancies. I'd much rather have a cold if i'm honest!

katkit1 · 18/11/2012 16:26

Brockle - I've been feeling shakey today too (do you think it means anything)? Not very hungry or anything (just felt like I was running on low power). I'll be 40 weeks tomorrow.

katkit1 · 18/11/2012 16:28

Georgee - tip noted re: carb loading (thanks)

kirrinIsland · 18/11/2012 16:30

Goodluck charlee and waiting

Brockle · 18/11/2012 17:22

Argh just lost long post! Jist was that like you kit I am forty weeks on tuesday so followiung georgees advice and feeling much better. Hopefully he just needs extra supplies for an imminent journey!

Swiss drink and get tons of rest (if your kids will let you). Its grotty feeling ill when you already feel rubbish. Thanks

ShellyBobbs · 18/11/2012 17:23

Good luck Charlee and Waiting

Swiss Hope you're feeling better soon.

I had tender breasts for about 3 weeks before I gave birth, it will be all the hormones. I also had watery discharge for 2 days before.

I'm loving the not needing to wee every 2 seconds, but have found that despite all the pelvic floor exercises my continence has taken a nose-dive. Looks like i'll be in night pads for a while yet!

Hope everyone is keeping well Grin

WaitingForMe · 18/11/2012 17:46

Things are cracking on. 5 mins apart. I've had a friend here the last two hours which helped pass the time. I'm VERY excited and adore the tens machine. It took me a long time to believe it was really starting (still not 100% convinced).

DH is really excited. His ex never went into labour (induced both times) so the slow build up is completely new to him. There's a hint of nerves beneath the calm but he's being brilliant (one phone throwing incident aside - I um threw it as his head Blush )

Clarella · 18/11/2012 17:49

Oooh good luck waiting sounds promising!!

Clarella · 18/11/2012 17:50

Ooooo x post sounds definate!!

Brockle · 18/11/2012 17:59

I think you should be convinced by now waiting [smiling] You have got me excited now!

georgee · 18/11/2012 18:00

Erm, have we heard from detective today?

ValiumQueen · 18/11/2012 18:03

I was wondering the same georgee hope you are ok detective

ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 18/11/2012 18:20

Hi everyone, good luck waiting. I hope detective doesn't have much longer to wait, she must be going demented Sad. I've had tightenings all day, they haven't let up at all, no pain though so I don't think it's the start of anything.

Iheartpasties · 18/11/2012 18:20

Go waiting !!

mrswee · 18/11/2012 18:32

Good luck waiting I hope it just keeps getting closer together!

hope al is ok with detective and charlee

arrrgh DH is STILL building DDs new bed and it's bed time very soon... then there going to be the high possibility of up and down to put her back in said new bed... I'm so tired today I can't face the thought of it but have to just go with it I guess... wish us luck and if youve got any tips on a childs first bed please pass them on!

TheDetective · 18/11/2012 18:45

Still here.

Dixiebell · 18/11/2012 18:48

mrswee, DS WENT INTO HIS FIRST BED A FEW WEEKS AGO. I worried too but he was absolutely fine with it, although he has always been a good sleeper. All we did was talk about it a fair bit beforehand and got him quite excited about his big boy bed. Perhaps try and keep other stuff the same, like bedding/sleep bag etc?

Oops sorry about caps, cba to change!

Thechick · 18/11/2012 18:49

Hello all. Hope all is okay. Today should have been my due date. I have a 6 week old instead, lol!!

mrswee · 18/11/2012 18:50

:( sorry to hear that detective

I've just had a quick neb at the postnatal thread... it's given me the fear a bit, brough back a lot of memories of the early days with a newborn/broken body.
