Apple my waters didn't go until his head was nearly out. You will be fine, your body knows what to do and you'll be running on adrenalin at the end x Wow! Congratulations to all the new mums!

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 13:25

I can't find the midwife arghhhh. I'm wandering round the health centre :( no one knows where I should go! They just told me to come here! They didn't even take my name... Fecking bollocks. I need this friggin' sweep .

kirrinIsland · 13/11/2012 13:33

Congratulations pass shanelle belgrano and cacacaz - been a busy time!

Good luck to apple

Hope the sweep works for you detective

FatimaLovesBread · 13/11/2012 13:35

Just found out te day of the funeral is next Monday. I've got a christening where i'm godmother on Sunday and then this funeral on Monday when I'll be 39+3. So could really do with this baby coming now or next Tuesday.
Been having near constant period pains and BHs all morning but I know that means nothing. I don't really want to have to wait until next week though (I know I'm being unreasonable). I bet it shows up on Saturday and throws a spanner in the works.

Feeling vomtastic today as well.

Sorry I'm just moaning.

Detective have you found the midwife? Fingers crossed your cervix has returned from hollibobs

shinyblackgrape · 13/11/2012 13:38

Looks like I joined in at the right time - lots of babies!

I've been reading back and can thoroughly relate to the pootractions! Terrible at night for me. Not helping my insomnia. Yesterday didn't get to sleep til 4am. Hoping it will help with night feeds etc.

Good luck to all those in labour and hope you get your sweep detective

glendathegoodwitch · 13/11/2012 13:51

Tits - they recommend olive oil for dry skin where I work x lol at the milk vampire - what a clever lil man!!!

Wheres the facebook page?? Would love to see all these gorgeous babies and add Dottie's

We're finally home after being messed about over blood sugars and me throwing a strop - no sleep for over 48 hours made me a ranting emotional wreck but now I'm home, showered and had a proper brew I feel almost human

The funniest thing has been introducing Dottie to our choccie lab - she's had a sniff, looked confused when she cried and has pretty much gone off in a huff lol

Wow 6 babies yesterday how funny!!! Hope there's more v soon xx

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 14:01

Sweep SUCCESS!!! I'll update the specifics later but right now I'm walking to get it going!!! C'mon baby, get out!

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/11/2012 14:30

Woo! Good luck detective!

ValiumQueen · 13/11/2012 14:34

About bloody time detective All the best Thanks

Congratulations to all new mummies. Commiserations to those still waiting. It will happen. You will not be pregnant for ever.

There are such varied birth stories on here. Amazing!

DS is nearly 3 weeks old, and the fog is beginning to clear. I think.

MissMummy1 · 13/11/2012 14:42

Dog just launched himself off my bump. Bloody animal. It hurts a little, should I be worried?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/11/2012 14:59

Good luck detective remember to keep us updated with progress. Xx

Brockle · 13/11/2012 15:16

Feel a bit more human but will retreat under the duvet again when the kids go to bed.

I hope things are getting a move on apple. My waters didn't go until the very end with both my DS's. In fact with DS2 when they went he came all at once within a few minutes. I think he surfed them Smile

Really excited for you detective. Need details. Mine is tomorrow but at 39 weeks I don't hold out much hope.

I second the olive oil tits and I was also told by a MW that ground nut oil works a little better.

StuntNun · 13/11/2012 15:49

Dammit Detective now I want another sweep

OP posts:
ToManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 13/11/2012 15:59

Sniggers at olive oil tits, sorry Brockle

Aqueous cream worked wonders for DD, she was a right spotty mess for two weeks before I was advised to use that.

I've been to the midwife, head is now engaged but she thinks baby is back to back Sad

katkit1 · 13/11/2012 16:06

Phew! Scan results show liquid volume as 9 (anything above 25 is an issue). That was quite a little snow storm I created. I must just have a big tummy. Baby normal size, liquid normal size. (cup of tea and a sandwich and bed).

pikz · 13/11/2012 16:11

Great news katkit now you can relax...

Wonder how detective is?

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 16:13

Right, back home now! Nothing exciting happening! Last time with the failed one I at least got tightenings Hmm. Arse. No show either. Poo.

So, cervix has now moved much more forward, I could feel where she was, and know it has changed loads from Friday. Cervix is 2cm long, 1.5cm dilated. Still classed as a multips os, but the fact it isn't posterior is fab! Also, the head is at -1. This is very low! Excitingly low. Not exciting enough for it to just fall out though. I feel much better knowing these things than wondering if I even have a cervix any more! Sweep didn't hurt at all, so things are definitely changing in the right direction. Just need contractions now Hmm.

Soooo... it is hopefully just a waiting game now! Another sweep Thursday if needed! Hopefully not... Grin.

Catching up - Glad the cosy toes arrived safely Izzy! And glad you like it! Was just sitting around taking up space as I bought it so early on, then didn't end up getting the car seat/pram I had intended! Did you like who it was addressed to?! I realised I didn't know your RL name as I was stood in the PO! Duuuh!

Good luck Apple, remember to rest as much as you can, and eat little and often. Most importantly, keep hydrated. I hope things are moving a little quicker for you now.

I've lost track of who has had babies, so please forgive me if I miss anyone out here.... Congratulations Shanelle, Pass and Belgrano. Am off for a nosy at pics - I did a quick look this morning, but didn't have chance to post since I hauled my ass out of bed at midday.... Grin.

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 16:14

And as if by magic.... haha pikz! Grin

ShellyBobbs · 13/11/2012 16:27

Hubby has just said get Detective's address, we'll send her a card when she's had it. I feel like we've been through this pregnancy with her Grin He cheered when I said it looks like it's soon lol x

Apple Hope you're doing alright.

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 16:29

I am now sat here giggling away - cheers Shelly!! I think my colleagues at work also feel the same way.. since they all knew early on thanks to the puking!

Tell DH thanks for the cheer!! I'll need a few of those...!

Still nothing much going on though. I've even hoovered in the hope... :(

FatimaLovesBread · 13/11/2012 16:41

Yay that they found your cervix this time detective I've been having a poke of mine too.

God i'm in a shitty mood today. I better sort my self out tomorrow, can't have another day of feeling this turd.

Another 1.5 hours until DH gets home. I'm not sure what to do for tea.
AIBU to think it's Tuesday, I feel like a pile of turd and a new one just opened within delivery distance so It would be totally justified in having a Dominos?!
Either going to be that or a jacket tatie

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 16:46

Absolutely Fatima Dominos sounds perfect! But then I do love a baked spud... as you know haha!

We are having mash, veggie sausage and gravy. It has been one of my comfort foods this pregnancy!

I'm going to have a feel for my cervix when DS is in bed Grin. I don't think he should find me in those kind of compromising positions really needs to sort lock on bathroom door.

Hmm you have given me ideas tomany Grin

I am planning on cleaning the kitchen and dining room floors tomorrow after mine. Third time this week and it has done bugger all (apart from have the cleanest floors I have ever had due to being a slattern).

Tempted to have a proper lie in tomorrow and put the sole responsibility for getting both DS's breakfasted, dressed and to school with all of their paraphernalia to my DH. Is it bad that I do not believe he can do this? Is it wrong to make a list? Is it wrong to make lists of what they need each day and what he needs to do during paternity leave? Am I becoming a control freak? I think I know the answer.

Can someone please have a baby today as I am getting withdrawal symptoms after yesterday can it pls be me

TheDetective · 13/11/2012 16:53

I think that sounds sensible Lane. I would have done the same!

Brockle No, not at all bad! DP can just about manage one 10 year old who knows what he needs each day anyway! Not sure he'd cope with anything else Grin.
