Thanks Fatima and Pikz - scan may be tomorrow or day after, will hear tomorrow when the appointment will be. I shouldn't have looked at the internet - got myself into quite a flap. I feel like my logic is starting to return now. It may be that the measurements are wrong or my dates are wrong or the baby has moved rather than the dramatic first thought that something is very wrong.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 12/11/2012 19:12

Just caught up. Hope everyone waiting on babies is doing ok x

Dixiebell · 12/11/2012 19:17

MM, your DP makes me laugh! He needs some kind of checklist by the front door doesn't he? Seems like he can't leave the house at all without forgetting something crucial! Have a picture in my mind of him driving off to hospital leaving you at home in labour someday soon...!

Congrats to new babies.

I am knackered after entertaining DS all day. Was really looking forward to day to myself tomorrow, then childminder rang to cancel tomorrow bcs of tummy bug. Argh!!!!!!! Why? So annoying. Wanted to cry actually as I just want to relax, do some online Xmas shopping and sleep. Now have to entertain 2yo for a whole day again.

Dixiebell · 12/11/2012 19:22

katkit, also would have thought v v unlikely anything seriously wrong that hadn't been picked up much earlier in scans. I think those measurements are really variable anyway, I'm sure they measure from a different place each time!

Iheartpasties · 12/11/2012 19:26

I think I managed a little bit of sleep!! A tiny bit ! I'll try and catch up now

MissMummy1 · 12/11/2012 19:27

Worryingly dixie I see that happening too.... He's as laid back and forgetful as I am neurotic and control freak!

jenbird · 12/11/2012 20:12

I'm still here too! 39 weeks tomorrow with no real signs. Slightly concerned I haven't got time to have a baby so it will just stay in there forever. I will cry if I make it to December!
Congratulations to all those who have had babies in the last few days. Everyone seems to have had positive stories too.
I have had a hectic few days. Did roast dinner for 9 yesterday, went to my son's beavers parade , did the ironing for 2 hrs and then worked until 10 once the children were in bed. Could hardly move by the end of it! Had a much more chilled day today although had to pick dd up from school this morning as she was sick. Feeling like a crap parent at the moment. Can't wait to feel normal again.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/11/2012 20:13

Congrats glenda great name too!

Chunkychicken · 12/11/2012 20:18

Congrats Glenda.

Finally settled on a first name for Chunkychick - Aaron. Just got to come up with a middle name now... :)

MissMummy1 · 12/11/2012 20:30

Aaron -love it! I taught a lovely wee P1 called Aaron last year!!

I've started writing christmas cards tonight because I am ridiculously bored . Feels strange writing them but not signing them! Here's hoping I don't lose the pen I'm using before December! Excited to use my tesco vouchers to buy decorations and some bits and pieces on Friday! I normally hate christmas and all the hassle that goes with it but I am so excited to spend it with my own little family this year and start some new traditions of our own! This will be the first year dp and I have spent it together too as we've both gone home to our own families for the last 3 years. Decided on making up hampers for our parents this year as all 3 sets of them (both my mum and dad have remarried) are impossible to buy for. Suggestions of what to stick in them greatly welcome!

MissMummy1 · 12/11/2012 20:31

Wow, exclamation mark overload! I must be excited!!

Detective are you silently stalking or having a baby? Your quiet periods get me far too excited for you.

georgee · 12/11/2012 21:29

Hi all, just a quickie to say that I've noticed from the Facebook page that cacacaz has had a little boy, Murray, at about 1pm today. I thought I'd missed her announcement here but I don't think she posted! He's a cutie! Scoot across and have a look.

Congrats glenda, wonderful news!

shinyblackgrape · 12/11/2012 21:30

Hi all - please may I join in? I was on one if the very early threads but couldn't keep up. Baby due on 24 November so 38+2 today.

I have terrible insomnia do should have time to keep up now overnight.

Hope all well and congrats to those who have had their babies!

Clarella · 12/11/2012 21:36

Hi shiny, im a lazy nov threader as been mainly on dec thread - however mild panic setting in! Due 2 days after you. My insomnia is bad too, just dont seem to have an off switch at the mo!

Love Aaron too - i have never taught an Aaron in 11 years actually!

applepieinthesky · 12/11/2012 21:46

Congrats glenda Smile

No news here I'm afraid. Still getting contractions 10 minutes apart. This has been going on nearly all day since 4.30am. Looks like another sleepless night.

MissMummy1 · 12/11/2012 21:52

Hello shiny - I haven't slept for weeks so feel free to keep me amused overnight!

I've just managed to set off my own burglar alarm going through to the kitchen. It must have set itself. Baby brain forgot the code... I now know how my dog felt when we discovered my car had an alarm! (bad dog mum....)

shinyblackgrape · 12/11/2012 22:03

Thanks all fr the welcome.

apple - that sounds promising!

I was demented with tiredness today but, of course, now waking up fir Nother sleepless night of 20 minute dozes!

TheDetective · 12/11/2012 22:16

Congratulations Pasties, Kirrin, Glenda and Cacacaz! Loving all these appearances! Everytime someone pops one out (!) my face does this Shock look. Not sure why... I mean we all have to do it! Mind you, I'm the midwife who is still surprised when a baby pops out at birth, after ooooh, well over 800 births! You'd think I'd be used to it now... Hope you ladies are enjoying your babymoons!

I've been sleeping and walking all day! No baby STILL!!!!!!

Didn't manage a shag, we both fell asleep Grin.

Been to Ikea, and then did some other shops, got a couple of Christmas presents, and all the wrapping paper etc! Quite pleased with myself really!

Just settling down to watch Kevin Bridges. Gonna laugh this baby out of me! Praying this sweep will work tomorrow!

katkit1 · 12/11/2012 22:22

Thanks Dixie - I think my logic left me + a bit too much googling along with reaching 39 weeks and starting to worry about what happens next. I will forget about Dr.Google now.

Passmethecrisps · 12/11/2012 22:53

Really quick post just to say that I joined the baby club today.

Had a little girl called Penelope weighing in at 7Ib.

All well so far apart from her not understanding sucking. Hopefully she will pick it up.

I am sorry I haven't read the thread - I will hopefully catch up tomorrow.

kissyfur · 12/11/2012 23:16

Welcome shiny and congrats pass! 7lb is a great weight Smile bet you're relieved after they worried you about baby being small xx

Cacacaz · 12/11/2012 23:30

Another one here for the 12/11/12 arrivals must be the busiest day so far. Gabriel William Joseph arrived this morning weighing a HUGE 9lb 11oz.
Was not a happy birth for either of us but i don't think im ready to talk about it yet and also trying to keep the thread upbeat with all the lovely super speedy and positive birth stories. CONGRATS to all the new mummies today x

ComradeJing · 12/11/2012 23:57

Thanks and congratulations to cacacaz pass pasties kirrin and glenda and anyone else I've missed!

Welcome Shiny and good luck.

Not much going on here. Saw my dr yesterday who said he doesn't like people to go more than a week over edd. Due Date is this Saturday and I've no idea what the baby is doing or when it's coming or if I'll go over. I'm seeing him for next routine appointment on Monday and we will discuss booking in then.

So whatever happens it looks like I'll be meeting the baby within about 10 days!
