I had the same problem this morning at the hospital. My lovely dad parked a bit too close to the car next to my side. He thought it was hilarious that I cleaned the side of his car with my bump Hmm

In his defense, he did ask if I had enough room before turning the ignition off to which I replied 'Yeah plenty'

Chunkychicken · 02/11/2012 17:19

I almost cry with joy when I'm out with my DD and actually get a parent & child space MM so empathise.

Stuntnun Shock at your FIL. I assume you had discussed it and he's changed his mind/forgotten? Is there another option?

StuntNun · 02/11/2012 17:30

I don't know what's going on with my FIL. My SIL was due the same week as me so he was always going to have them because MIL would be over with her. Now I'm wondering whether DH actually asked him or whether he just assumed he would look after the kids. My boys are 9 and 6 ffs, it's not like looking after a toddler, put the TV on and feed them pizza! My last two deliveries were both short so it probably won't even be for a long time. I was gobsmacked when he said that, he knows we don't have any other family here.

No baby news yet? Bummer!

40+2 today. DP is getting daily shagging again (will defo NOT mention the swallowing thing). Surely prostaglandins right on the cervix works better than the already snail pace digestive system?

Tonight's eviction plan = usual walking/gym ball but also a spot of dance central on the Xbox. I need a laugh anyway Grin

How annoying stunt.

Farting while on the birthing ball is painful. It's like being twanged in the arse with rubber bands

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/11/2012 18:31

stunt oh no! Can you not ask him if he'd have them or is it too late now?

We're quite lucky in that we've got tons of family around us, FIL being closest, my dad being around more often so there'll always be someone.

Still feel full of cold, glad it's my turn for the bath tonight and dh said he'd do ds' bedtime so can chill on the sofa.

StuntNun · 02/11/2012 18:33

Have there been any November babies yet? Who has been quiet today? I've been having BH contractions for the last 24 hours with a few real ones thrown in but I'm not convinced they're going anywhere.

ShellyBobbs · 02/11/2012 18:38

First chance I've had of looking in today, bah, no babies yet!

The full body rash has now risen, everyday it gets worse, don't know what to expect tomorrow but was up all night scratching. Think swelling may be next.

Detective What could they do if you don't do it? I'd like to see them try to do ANYTHING! Just have a quick look through your contract for time off duties.

StuntNun · 02/11/2012 18:38

DH I thought it was all sorted until today. I've been having problems with the in laws for a while with them being very critical of me and dismissive of anything I say. My FIL knows we don't have any other family round here any more. The ironic thing is that we moved from Scotland to NI when I was pregnant with DS1 so that we could be close to some family!

Hmmm don't know what to do tonight. DH has just gone back to work, there's no more cleaning to do. There's naff all on tv. Any suggestions? Should I just go to bed and play on my DS?

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:02

Stunt What on earth is FIL thinking?! Have you asked DH what was said when he was asked? Christ on a bike, not what you need right now is it!!!

Shelly I'm not sure to be honest, because I don't know what exactly they are investigating. I guess I still have a legal obligation with NMC if they took it as far (hugely unlikely!) but you never know in my gaff the way it will swing!!! I was the midwife at the birth, so i'll be under scrutiny really.

I have found out that one of my other colleagues had the same - she had her baby in september, and got the brown letter of doom on her doorstep 6 days postnatally! I feel less 'special' now!!

Still very upset, as really don't see why it couldn't wait a month or so, given that as far as I am aware it refers to something that was out of my hands, and there was no actual harm to anyone, and the woman in question was happy with events at the time.

Trying to put it out my mind, as tomorrow... it is my due date! And tomorrow is our 3 year anniversary, and sunday is my birthday not sure I could mention it any more times haha So I was hoping for a lovely weekend!

Fat chance

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 02/11/2012 20:03

Were home!!!

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:04

I'm going to watch a Harry Potter Fatima Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2012 20:34

Sounds good Detective Which one?

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:40

Prisoner of Azkaban! I think this one is my favourite! If I had to choose!

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2012 20:49

I think I might have to watch them all again. Something to do on maternity leave Grin

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:52

Sounds like a perfect plan to me!

We watched Twilight last weekend Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/11/2012 20:53

I'm apparently first on list for the morning after it being manic all day here.
I've just spoken to DP, he was double checking the baby bag and has gone silly over the tiny pot of sudocreme. Grin it's apparently amazing because its perfectly formed but really small... I wonder if he's lost the plot.

All on my own again tonight in the big old ward. Fingers crossed once again I'll get in tomorrow. Smile

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:53

Welcome home Izzy and James! Nearly missed you sneaking in there!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/11/2012 20:54

Yay izzy great news!

stunt I've been having strong BHs all day too, few twinges thrown in. Don't want to give birth while I've got this stinking cold though I don't have the energy
I do hope you get the FIL thing sorted out, what does your dh say?

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 20:58

I'm totally fed up of the BH's and twinges! I give up! 4 weeks of them now!!!!

kirrinIsland · 02/11/2012 21:06

I'm fed up of the BHs and twinges too - and I've only been having them since Monday! It's like they're teasing me - I was so convinced when they started that it couldn't be long now, but I've now realized that they don't appear to mean anything...

Welcome home izzy

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/11/2012 21:18

Just checking in to see if there are any November babies yet. Can't believe there aren't! tits I hope you get your induction tomorrow. What a wait!

Had a nice day. Went to a garden centre this morning and DD managed to lock herself in the toilet. A nice man came and rescued her. I think he was glad that it was DD that needed help and not me! Then round to in laws for dinner which was nice and chilled. Baby is wriggling about a lot now after being quiet today. It's quite painful but can't complain as am happy to feel movements.

detective sorry to hear of your work troubles. I hope it doesn't ruin your weekend fun plans.
