Passmethecrisps · 02/11/2012 12:50

So they want you to go in to type a statement about an incident your reported 5 weeks ago?

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 12:52

I'm assuming so!

Passmethecrisps · 02/11/2012 12:53

That is exciting charlee!

At my last midwife appointment the midwife said she would maybe see me in the ward rather than at my appointment given how little space I had left. Ha! I am currently bouncing on my ball hoping that I will be completely engaged at today's appointment.

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 12:53

I know I haven't done anything 'wrong'. But my mind is in overdrive, because it is always the midwives that get the blame. Always.

Even though this was a medical decision, and a delay in care due to resources already being in use/medical decision not to escalate.

No untoward outcome as far as I remember, but my mind is hazy.

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/11/2012 13:01

Still no movement here, I'm 4th on the list and they've still not taken number 1, feck knows what's going on up on labour ward today. :/

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2012 13:30

Detective That sounds complicated and annoying at this late stage. Will they pay you as a "keeping in touch day" if you have to go in?

Tits Fingers crossed they get a move on!

How exciting Charlee

Chick I'd much rather be cosied up having newborn snuggles but it feels good to have got everything done.

I sat down for a rest at 11am and wrote a list of Jobs for DH to do this afternoon/tomorrow. Then i thought, I'm still in the cleaning mood so I've ended up doing them anyway. So to add to my earlier list I have... - hung the washing out - Cleaned out the guinea pigs - Swept, hoovered and mopped the kitchen floor - Hoovered the living room and stairs - Emptied the dishwasher - Cleaned the bedroom drawers
In and amongst that MIL came to deliver the moses basket Smile
Just got the shower to re-silicone and then that's all the jobs done.

Anyway, it's a good job I did DHs jobs for him. He rang at 12 to say work want him to go out and fit a job tonight! Shock
This is after working 7am-5pm yesterday, then 8pm-2:30am last night and 7am-1pm today! It means he won't have to work tomorrow but he'll be shattered the poor lamb. He rang me to check if I thought I was going to go in to labour tonight so then he'd say he can't do it Grin I just said, I don't think I am but obviously I can't be certain

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 13:35

I can't stop crying.

Stupid hormones :(

TheDetective · 02/11/2012 13:36

On the plus side, DP text me with the good news that his wage was more than usual, so we can at least afford a meal out on my birthday.

Swings and roundabouts I guess.

Need to cheer up...

kirrinIsland · 02/11/2012 13:41

detective that sounds shit :( I can't believe the unsupportive employers on here - I must have been spoilt, perhaps I am better off staying where I am.

Fatima my DP keeps checking if i think the baby will come tonight just before he goes to work - I wish it was that predictable!

pass hope your burnt bump is ok. I keep dropping food on June - but at least I can just wash it off. Ironing it sounds much more painful :(

kirrinIsland · 02/11/2012 13:43

Who the hell is June??! I meant mine, obviously - bloody iPad

CharleeWarlee · 02/11/2012 14:18

Ive ironed my bump a few times. Cant tell though as the burn marks fit right in with the horrific road map stretch marks Grin

I once read that someone managed to burn their nipple whilst ironing...still has me thinking how the hell did they manage that one Confused

I just told DP what the consultant told me this morning as unfortunately he couldnt get the time off so came home for his lunch instead. Think its safe to say he is now shitting bricks as reality is coming close to hitting us in the face. This being his first child and doesnt know what to expect as he hasnt been brought up with babies and DD was 2 when he met her.

Im having a really lazy day today. Have come to my dads so i'm not alone and dont spend the whole day asleep like I probably would have done at home. Just been to the shop to buy my weekly thursday mags so am now going to gouch on the sofa and do the competitions.

Lilliana · 02/11/2012 14:53

Well I was feeling quite proud of my achievements today until I read what Fatima has been up to! It just takes me so long to do anything as hip/pelvic pain is not allowing me to do anything quickly.

Washing is in lovely new tumble drier Grin so pleased I can actually dry clothes without factoring in the weather.

Detective if you have already filled in an incident form and there is no complaint why do they need a statement too? Surely they cannot reasonably expect that to be done considering you will be giving birth any minute now. Especially as this happened weeks ago. I would see what your union says and if you do have to go in claim for a KIT day. Sorry you have this worry now, Go have a nice birthday meal.

My poor bump has been bumped with all manner of doors and children's heads Blush and has had food and drink dropped over it - no ironing though (but that could be because I rarely do any!)

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/11/2012 14:56

Gah it will be tomorrow at this rate, Drs have been in theatre all day and are still going, oh well I have to get in there at some bloody point!

It's sweltering here, like the middle of a tropical summer. This baby has been one solid lump all day, very uncomfortable.

As a side note - my Mum once melted her whole boob to the oven hob, clothes/skin and all, it was horrific!

glendathegoodwitch · 02/11/2012 15:00

Ouch pass that sounds painful - I keep bashing bump when I try to wash my hands or do the washing up - I can't reach the taps anymore cos I look like Mr Greedy!!!!!

Awwwww detective try not to worry too much about work, easier said than done when you feel like an emotional volcano, at least you can have a nice birthday treat x

Well I've done one half of the kitchen, looks all sparkling and clutter free until you turn 180 degrees and spy all the clutter and crap lol, it's gonna be a 2 day job as I'm wiped out so having a chill on the bed.

Passmethecrisps · 02/11/2012 15:08

Wholly crap tits! She melted her boob? That's making me shudder just thinking about it!

Midwife appointment was a lengthy one! Still leaukocutes in urine but no sign of infection. Ended up doing a swab. Well, I did two as the first one a pinged the swab stick and it clattered all over the toilet floor - goodness knows what it would come back with!

Also measuring 37 which is the same as when I was actually 37 weeks so been booked in for a growth scan on my due date. Midwife also reckons baby is still just at the rim so hasn't shifted in two weeks. She was asking me to think about a sweep next week - think that'll be a certainty!

I would bounce on my ball but it's the day's turn - for sitting on my knee not her turn for the ball. Not sure her claws would be terribly helpful

Chunkychicken · 02/11/2012 15:23

Decided to bring DD to my parents house for her nap, so DH & FIL can do radiator relocation in peace (& not because I was so frigging bored that I would have walked far further for something anything to do). Parents out so just waiting for DD to go to sleep & my Mum to get in.

Baby was also 3/5 engaged in Tues Charlee from only 1/5 the wk before. I don't think my DD engaged until the last minute so I'm not enjoying the bladder gymnastics & the feeling that I need to do a poo when I walk, oh and the attractive waddle. Hope s/he hurries up and finds the exit!!!

Tits melting a boob??!!!! Shock

CharleeWarlee · 02/11/2012 15:31

I feel you chunky! Doesnt matter what I do, I feel like I need a crap constantly! And also feel like a bowling ball will come flying out my fanjo at any given moment!

Where are these babies that are meant to be coming today anyway??

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2012 15:39

I'm quite surprised that i've managed to do so much, my pelvis has been ok for a change. As long as I keep moving though, now I've stopped I can guarantee I wont be able to move in an hour.

I've now worried myself though, with being so busy I haven't noticed baby that much so now I'm sat with a cold drink hoping it will spur it in to life and stop me worrying

Titsalinabumsquash · 02/11/2012 15:40

I know! That it the lesson for the very large boobed ladies about what happens web you bend over the cooker braless!

The midwife is just telling us about a lady she looked after who had the biggest bump she ha ever seen and went in to deliver a 4lb baby at term so now doesn't predict size. Lol

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/11/2012 15:52

Thought I had twinges when out with ds at the park. Only a couple and then they went, came home and had a cuppa (and various crap food) then went to the loo (which is becoming an everyday thing- clearout?) so must've been that.

Getting my bikini wax tomorrow woo! Hope baby doesnt come in the night, I can feel a small pointy bit where her bum used to be so dont know if shes moved? Could be an elbow I suppose, shes def still firmly engaged though.

I keep trying to squeeze through gaps that are too small for my bump so it keeps getting knocked, and people hit it with their elbows etc they forget its there (dont know how!)

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/11/2012 16:00

Oh and have been getting rather uncomfortable BHs allllll day!

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2012 16:12

DH I tried to fit through the bathroom door with the shower door open in to it today, I got stuck! I also closed the dishwasher on my bump. I keep thinking i'm slim Grin

kissyfur · 02/11/2012 17:01

Sounds like lots of you ladies have been v busy today! I feel like I have but haven't achieved much.

A friend of mine came over this morning with her little ones. then I had to go to an appointment with the anaesthetist. All went ok. Have driven quite a lot of miles today and I'm shattered. Loads of washing up to do in the kitchen as DP didn't do it last night Angry (i cook tea and he washes up - that's the deal) really don't have the energy to go do it and then cook dinner! Sad

detective that's really s**t of your work! Not what you need right now, hope you enjoy your bday meal

StuntNun · 02/11/2012 17:01

OMG my FIL just phoned up and casually asked in passing what I was going to do with the boys when I went into labour. I didn't know what to say as I thought he was going to look after them. Apparently that's not on the cards then. My neighbour has offered to take them but I thought that was for in an emergency, not just cos FIL doesn't want to take them. Looks like I'll be having this baby on my own then. Better get that birth plan written.

My biggest peeve is people parking too close to my car so I can't squeeze into it. Some inconsiderate bastard poor man came back to his jeep the other day to find me almost in tears because I couldn't get into mine. His face was priceless!
