Hey ladies,

Quick question... Did you have to ring up docs surgery to book 16 week mw appointment or did they call you? Haven't heard anything about it yet - no one mentioned it at my 12 week scan.

Thanks :)

EmpressMatilda · 25/10/2012 18:07

mama It sounds so hard. Can't imagine how awful it must be. Inevitable that you're feeling down but baby is aluve and kicking which is surely worth a smile. Hugs and positive thoughts from all of us!

bambino I had to phone up for mine. So far scan appointments have come through the post but MW appts have been up to me to phone up and book. Nobody told me that in the beginning though.

Bambino29 · 25/10/2012 18:50

Thanks Empress - will call in the morning. This pregnancy lark is one big learning curve!

Mama - just to let you know I'm thinking of you. Pregnancy is stressfull enough without extra things to worry about - youre very entitled to a wobble! Guess being in hospital means it's hard to think about anything else. So glad baby is holding in there - will be keeping everything crossed for as smooth a ride as possible.

damnitdamnit · 25/10/2012 19:40

Hi all, I've not been near this thread in ages, just seen the stats thread in active and it reminded me.

mama it's sounds so hard can't imagine how you are feeling.

Think I'm 17+2 Confused today but confused as ratbagcatbag is due the same day as me but is +4 am I working it out wrong? Or just having a moment!

Well dh is away for two nights so I am catching up with my tv and mn.

How strange is this I last saw my midwife about 3 weeks ago and my next appointment is at the end of February!!!! Obviously have a scan in a few weeks but thats it Hmm.

JaquelineHyde · 25/10/2012 19:53

Mama please do not apologise.

You are having such an awful time and you have been so brave and positive throughout.

You're scared and feeling quite alone I suspect, especially as dh didn't feel able to come with you. Please, please keep talking on here we are all here for you and all more than happy to listen and help anyway we can.

Here have an un Mumsnetty {{{{{HUG}}}} and some Thanks

enjay0811 · 25/10/2012 19:57

Oh mama big hugs. U sound like your having a bit of a wobble at the moment which is expected but look how far you've got already Smile Tht baby is a little fighter! Bit cheeky I know but care to share the sex?! You're the first to find out on this thread and its so exciting! U r an inspiration to many on here, just hang in there. Lots of positive thoughts being sent your way! Xx

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 25/10/2012 21:35

mama feel free to vent on here! Hang in there - yes it's going to he tough but you already know this baby is one tough cookie! It's natural to wobble at the best of times, let alone in your circumstances. Hang in there.

bambino I was told to ring and book after my 12 week scan when my dates were more accurate. Receptionist sorted me an appointment,

I am flagging doing 12 hour shifts and being diffed! Still throwing up / lost breakfast while brushing my teeth this morning [hconfused] but generally ok.

14+2

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 25/10/2012 22:08

I have a stupid question, but I need to know Blush ...

I'm 12+2 apparantly. So when I'm looking at info on how baby is developing week by week, do I look at week 12 or week 13?

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 25/10/2012 22:10

My app shows me the week ahead so I'm 14+2 now but it shows the week 15 info.

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 25/10/2012 22:12

Ah, okay thanks.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 25/10/2012 22:32

No probs - not a silly question - I had to check the app to be sure! [hsmile]

enjay0811 · 25/10/2012 23:16

flamin and littlefaith can I ask which apps ur using? Can anyone recommend any good one's? X

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 26/10/2012 05:49

I've got the 'what to expect' app. It's pretty good - gives you daily and weekly updates and a countdown to your due date! :)

Teapig · 26/10/2012 07:30

Hang on in there mama. You've come so far and your little baby is clearly made of strong stuff just like his mum. A baby boy, how exciting! I hope you get plenty of support from your family to get you through these tough times and remember we are here for you. Sending you proper unmumsnetty hugs xx

Mama1980 · 26/10/2012 07:57

Thank you so much everyone Smile you all made me cry with your lovely words. I think it just hit me yesterday, especially as i am cramping but I'm ok today is going to be better. My children came in last night and while ds was his usual self my dd noticed at that id been crying i cant bear to see the worry on her face shes only 14 so smiles from here on in! 17+6 we can do this right? If we can just hold on until Christmas my baby has a real chance. I am having a baby boy Grin dd has already sorted a name (not up to me apparently its her brother?!) and he was wriggling like crazy yesterday. Oh lord I'm crying again Blush when we get out of here I'm going to send you all chocolate for listening to me!
I hope you are all well? I love reading everyone's good news.

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 26/10/2012 08:26

enjay I'm only reading on the BBC Pregnancy Calendar website.

Crazytictac · 26/10/2012 08:31

Hi ladies, may I join you? Been lurking for a while but felt a bit shy!

Morning sickness much better but still waiting for the energy part to kick in. I have one very active DS 2.5 years.

Look forward to getting to 'know' you

16+ 0.

shomes · 26/10/2012 10:03

oh mama you made me feel like crying with your post too :( i'm glad your staying positive even though it must be horrendously hard to go through all of this.

Last day of term but i really don't feel like going in! Really short of money at the moment and have no idea what i will do for a week with DS when short of funds!!

trying2bpos · 26/10/2012 10:36

oh mama congratulations even though some naughty people on here just jumped to the conclusion that you're expecting a boy, it was lovely to see your post, I guess the obvious bit gave it away? Anyway you cry when you want to it won't do you or your baby any harm and remember you are pg so have the perfect hormonal excuse to give to your DD if she notices again! Can you share her name choice with us or is that tmi to give away at the moment? I can't imagine how hard it must be for you at the moment but you're doing great. Try to focus on each day at a time, every day is a day closer to getting a stronger baby boy!

lili86 · 26/10/2012 10:45

Hi ladies, been lurking on her for a while and thought it time i joined in!
This is dc2 for us, due 28 april and have a ds 5.5!
13+5

trying2bpos · 26/10/2012 10:45

Still all full of coughs and colds here, [hsad] and took DS to doctors yesterday thinking they'd just pat me on head and say go away dear it's a cold he'll get over it only to be told they think he has a chest and ear infection! Now I feel like a bad mother for not just knowing! Maybe I did since I took him to dr in first place. Anyway he seems to be doing a bit better now but trying to get penicillin and calpol down him is not proving easy. Tips anyone he's 16mo?

Told my boss yesterday, didn't really mean to but he's quite hard to track down! It was a bit odd though as he was all excited (despite commenting on the small gap between it and DC1- how rude!) he then said he wouldn't mention it to anyone until I was ready to tell people, wonder if that's really true and seemed a bit odd, I mean I wasn't telling him as a friend was I!

somewhere yes I should pop over to the 40s thread but I can barely keep up with this one and it's nice to chat with people (of all ages) at the same stage of pg. Interesting about the ELCS for over 40s, never heard of that before, what's the reasoning behind that.

Welcome newbies and congratulations add yourselves to our stats thread I'll give you the link in a sec, we must be at 100 by now surely!

lili86 · 26/10/2012 11:00

poor you trying. Its not easy getting children to take medicine. Ds just had his tonsils/adenoids out and it has been a nightmare! Bribery? [hgrin]

mama you are amazing! Hand on in there, your little baby is a real fighter.

trying2bpos · 26/10/2012 11:12

Yay lili congratulations I think the 28th was one of the dates in april not covered!

I think DS bit young to understand bribery but will give it a go, it's just hard trying to work out how much has been spat out and whether to give more or not?

Giddypants · 26/10/2012 11:30

trying I find a syringe is better than a spoon, put a little bit at a time into the side of the cheek followed by a drink, also distract with a toy or the tv!

mama your doing so well, I think your entitled to a wobble every now and then!

DH has just text me saying he coming out in sympathy pain, and feels pregnant because his back is aching so much he's waddling around! [hgrin]
