trying how awful, and sending some wiggly baby vibes for tomorrow.
ours went really well after fretting all morning, initially I had a student sonographer who didn't really know his way around the machine, but he found sprout and the heart beat, let me and DH have a look, then told us he had a lot of measurements to do, before the qualified sonographer came in and repeated the whole procedure, both really lovely and said everything looked fine, sprout was quite wiggly and made them chase for their measurements but we got there in the end and 4 lovely photos. Grin
Sprout didn't like the invasion of privacy and kicked the probe that it visibly moved!

Giddypants · 13/11/2012 19:31

Still wanting a surprise so we didn't ask.
We're not buying anything just yet either, going to see what we have left in the loft from DS
mama enjoy your snuggles with the kiddies x

JessieEssex · 13/11/2012 20:21

giddy so lovely to hear about your scan. I have mine at 9am tomorrow and am really nervous, but I'm not sure why! Think we're going to keep the sex a surprise (like we did with DD).

Teapig · 13/11/2012 20:53

I have to say I'm relieved I'm not the only one who hasn't been DTD as usual. DH and I are pretty paranoid after mmc last pregnancy and haven't DTD since bfp Blush I keep thinking that we should and then I woss out for fear of any problems, stupid I know.

Really glad to hear you had a great scan Mama.
Trying that sounds like a horrible sonographer, glad they're fitting you in tomorrow waiting another three weeks would drive me mad!
Hooray for more great scan news Giddy.

Empress I have a long commute but I get on at the start of the line so I always get a seat. I would like one of those bump on board badges should I ever need to get the tube, where are people getting those from.

Hello ladies Smile

I have been reading every now and again to try keeping up but as usual I've forgotten who's up to what and when etc. Sorry for being so totally useless!

So pleased to read all the good scan reports though. It's such a relief when you get past that milestone.

And Mama I am really so happy for you that little man is doing so well xx

I was going to keep it to myself but not quite sure why so I'll tell you here instead of blabbing in RL, I gave in and went for a private scan on Friday and I am having a little blue one Grin Coco it was at the place you said it was too!

Being totally honest I did come out and have a little tear or two, but I soon got over that and I am just glad everything is looking ok so far. Baby was wriggling all over, even got to see him in 3/4D which was really cool but my placenta is on the front so wasn't the best view. The sonographer checked him all over, did measurements etc and said all looked good. Only slight concern is fluid in his kidneys, it is at the higher end of normal but she did say it is very common and just see what they say at 20wk scan. So not too worried about that for the moment.

Feeling more movements now but they are muffled by placenta. Only tend to notice when I finally get to sit down in the evening for 5 minutes!

Bump is most definitely a baby bump now too. There is no chance of me hiding this for much longer, even my youngest, who is 3 next week, has told me several times that there is a baby in my tummy Grin

I'm off to bed now, totally shattered today, was aiming for an early night but have once again failed at that.

Goodnight everyone :)

I had my scan today, it was lovely. We had a student first so had the whole thing done twice taking over 45 minutes wonderful to watch the baby for that long!

All looks fine most importantly & we are expecting our second daughter :) my reaction surprised me slightly. I (&DH agreed) felt a slight 'twinge' despite having a slight preference for a second girl! I don't think it's having a girl rather than a boy but more that we would like the opportunity to parent both. DH said in the pub this evening we're not stopping at two are we? Grin

Mama hope you've had a good evening with your children.

Giddy glad you had a good scan too & also got a student sonographer & a double look at baby.

trying that sounds terrible, you poor thing. I would not have been impressed!

I also saw the consultant after & was discharged to midwife led care. I had been technically under a consultant (only seen them once today) due to a PPH (bleed) of 1.5 litres after DD was born. He has said I can have this baby at a midwife led unit as long as its in the same site as a consultant led unit just in case & not at home. Which is fine.

Aargh! Well my plans for an early night have been scuppered. Poor DD seems to have croup so we're all still up. DH is currently sitting with her in a steamy bathroom while I google for more tips!

EssexWelsh · 14/11/2012 06:47

Congrats on all these scans, mine is next Thurs, can't wait!!

Ooh Essex mine is next Thursday too-exciting! We are planning not to find out as I am rubbish at keeping secrets and don't think I'd want to tell everyone else. Decided we'd rather not know than have me torture myself with a secret/inevitably blab to someone for 20 weeks. Only thing we've said is that if there's something on the scan that makes it look obvious we'll ask them to confirm-wouldnt want to be convinced for all that time that it's blue for it to come out pink. It's our first so we will be over the moon whatever.

I had my first proper kick yesterday, so amazing. The strangest thing was that after that I could feel where my wee bumpkin was all afternoon, and could tell in the evening when she/he moved. DH is very envious and desperate to feel something too. He was chatting away to the wee bean last night, encouraging him/her to give me another good kick-super cute!

Knitting has resumed here. Few dropped stitches here and there but I'm telling myself it's more important that it's made with love than that it should be perfect.

Hope everyone had a fabby day

Have been checking in each day, scan news is very exciting, mine is 2 weeks tomorrow and I am counting the hours!!! Cannot wait, and really hoping to find out the sex.

I'm still being sick, but every couple of days instead of every day now!

Had a dream last night that we had a girl, but I have convinced myself it's a boy so time will tell...

Not sure if I am feeling movements, as am feeling a stirring/tingling/tickling sensation, but no bubble popping or fluttering so I'm not sure...Blush

Its so exciting to hear about everyones scans. Essex and Edin mine is also next Thursday..can't wait to find out it is - I'm absolutely convinced myself its a girl so will be a shock for me if I find out its a boy!

Trying hope you have better luck with your scan today.

Giddypants · 14/11/2012 10:35

Goog luck jessie for your scan today x

trying2bpos · 14/11/2012 11:40

Thanks for all of your support and sympathy, oh and for the much needed baby positioning thoughts. Felt a fair bit of movement today already so fingers crossed all well for this afternoon, I'll let you know how it goes later.

Congrats Giddy, too breathless and funsized fantastic news.

Hope you had a nice time last night with the children mama and glad you're enjoying some browsing fun!

Trishstar · 14/11/2012 12:08

Wish my scan would hurry up!!! Roll on 27th! Then my next MW appt is December 17th, hopefully this time I won't have to ask to listen to the heartbeat!

Good luck to everyone having scans soon!!!

Had the scan, all was fine, got some brilliant pics. We didn't find out the sex, but I was keeping an eye out for anything 'obvious' (didn't see anything though...) So relieved, I'd convinced myself there would be something wrong. Baby is measuring spot on for the dates, so my worries about the low Papp-a levels / small baby are alleviated for now...
Have been feeling massive kicks for a few weeks now, but last night in the bath, I saw one! So lovely.

teapig email transport for london telling them your pregnant and with your address and they send you a badge.

Anyone else having their scan a week today? I'm starting to get excited now Smile
I was just chatting to a colleague while I had lunch, I knew she was pregnant but didn't realise she's also due in april, a few days before me, I'm wondering now if she's a mumsnetter!!!

Loving seeing the scan news! I am getting all excited about mine, which is two weeks tomorrow.

Had a lovely morning at Bumps, Babes and Tots, some newish mums that have only been once or twice asked me about how I'm feeling and told them I am excited but exhausted and it's still as much of a rollercoaster of emotions. They admitted they are due in June and the other in July. Have arranged a nice play date next week with them at my house [must declutter some of my knitting crap - it's taking over again] they have only just moved to the area and have no idea about the care available. They can see the MLU from our back garden :)

Bea is still being a bugger with sleep, she just can't make her mind up whether she is knackered or hyper. Yesterday was a cuddly day, last night was a bouncy perky toddler hell, today she's buzzing, went to the park after BBT to let her burn some energy off, but no chance.

Taking her to carnival tonight, quite excited as I haven't been for years.

Great scan news people. It's so nice to hear.

Mine is on Monday morning. I hope I get a nice sonographer (my spell check was determined that was going to say pornographer).

Not much fluttering and kicking the past few days. No symptoms either. Except piles. Not nice.

The visibility of my bump is a comfort. I really, really want my scan just to be sure it's ok in there.

19+5 and counting down to 19th November!

growyourown77 · 14/11/2012 17:43

Ooh, empress at least I'm not the only one with early piles. Sore eh?! Mine are brought on by this bladder retention that's still nit sorted.

No sex for DH and I Sad...I was all up for it 4 weeks ago when this retention started, but a hanging catheter us not this season's sexy look!

Finally seeing urology consultant tomorrow, so FX on some new insight or solution.

I'm trying hard to stay chipper and focus away from bladder and onto baby, but not feeling very pregnant as baby us still low and I'm still in my regular (fat day) trousers.

Mw found heartbeat this morn, so baby seems ok, which is the main thing.

20 week scan on 3 Dec...so bit of a wait.

Gonna plan the house rejig/where to put nursery/bathroom project instead.Smile

So glad to hear of great scans for you ladied...student Sonographers are the way to go!

JaquelineHyde · 14/11/2012 18:40

Evening ladies so gald to hear about all the lovely scan news.

I'm just fed up with it all now.

Since not being able to find the heartbeat last week I have been trying desperately to feel any kind of movement and there has been nothing at all not even the slightest hint of movement.

I've prepared myself for the worst tomorrow and will insist that if no heartbeat can still be detected that I get an immediate scan appointment, I can't go through another week of this it's been bloody horrible.

Hi all so many good scans still a while to wait for mine on 27th!got a uti at moment was in agony last night got some antibiotics today.i think the time is going a little quicker but might be as im so busy getting organised for xmas!x

Rivergirly · 14/11/2012 21:12

Evening ladies

Wow so much lovely scan news - cant wait for mine - 2 weeks tomorrow - more exciting than xmas and still desperate to find out whether bubs is pink or blue - was listing things to sell on ebay then realised that maybe I should hang on to the boys things just in case - I know what I have wont come in for a few years but still will some me some cash later!!

Jacqueline I wouldnt worry too much that they didnt get the heartbeat at 16 weeks - they do say that they cant always find it - my mw took absolutely ages and I was getting disappointed that she wasnt going to get it but she perservered. I know it is reassuring but fx you will be fine!

On another note my bubs had not moved in about a week and a half but yesterday suddenly woke up at lunchtime and has been on a full on marathon of kicks til i went to bed at 11 last night and all day from the minute I got up today - my boys were both the opposite they only moved at night time when I had settled for the evening. Is anyone else the same??? Never had such a wiggly little bump - the movements are so obvious as well that I am sure they have my dates wrong (this is my third) and I just think Bubs was measuring small when I had my first scan - according to my LMP I am a week ahead of what the scan said and the movements would kinda correspond with that - no little flutters for me - full on kicks!! My eldest son even felt one today and I am still only 17 +6!

xx

Rivergirly · 14/11/2012 21:16

PS Jaqueline is this your first? I know I defo didnt feel a thing with my first or second til about 19 weeks if that is any help at all xx
