I'm counting down steph!!! I text my boyfriend everyday to remind him how many days! He's convinced pink and I say blue!!! xxx

JessieEssex · 09/11/2012 20:58

Only 5 days until my scan - woo-hoo! I get a hard bump as well - I remember this from my first pregnancy as well. Is defintely linked to overdoing it, and (in my experience) bedroom action...!

Me to trish ive got no feeling as to what sex though i already have one girl and one boy and this preg completly different!

EssexWelsh · 09/11/2012 22:03

Just had a total blub, for no real reason, the first full on cry I've had pregnancy related. Cried to DP as after watching a rom com, I started mourning that we will never have a relaxing sun holiday together again and as it appears the whole world has made a judgement that we are not married, even pretty much every teenager I teach-'how can I be pregnant and not married' x20 times per day starting to question it myself, so feeling emotional about why haven't we got married, leading to questioning DP if he does love me etc, why has he still not asked, not been bothered about it before-the usual women crap of being hormonal I guess!

But am sad I will be an old fat bride (if ever) without the super long Caribbean honeymoon I've dreamed of. Then felt guilty for even thinking we should have waited for kids, what if baba heard?!I am just far too tired, off the bed!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2012 22:03

Evening all!

trish we're the opposite! I say pink, he says blue!

My bump has definitely grown! I have always had a muffin top but now baby seems to be pushing it up and it's got very firm. I insisted to DH last night it was still my muffin top and tried to suck it in - but couldn't! Hmm

No movement noticed here yet.

Congratulations to those who have had good scans (sorry j can't name check but I'm on my phone and very tired after working all day!).

Hi all, I'm hoping someone is still up or has woken at this stupid hour, I need some advice and assurance. Dh and I had sex earlier this evening but now I'm bleeding! There looked quite a lot just afterwards but has got lighter now. I had a few occasions of bleeding after sex just before I got pregnant but never got round to goin to see on gp. I am worried sick tht there's something wrong with me now and may lose the baby cos I was so stupid and never got it checked out. In floods of tears as I write this as its the middle of the night, I can't phone anyone n Dh is snoring besides me. Please let me no if anyone else has had this? Will phone the midwife in the morning anyway but so worried Sad

EssexWelsh · 10/11/2012 02:19

enjay try to stay calm, there is a million and 1 things it could be and a million of those are just one of those things, I had bleeding 2 weeks ago, totally freaked out, went straight to EPAU, they did a scan and everything was fine. The explanation I had was that hormones (those again) have a major impact on the cervix and if could be that it is rather raw and it a bit of 'poking' it has caused bleeding. But as I say there is a million things it could be, that don't lead to miscarriage so relax. That being said, keep an eye, if it gets any worse, wake sleeping beauty and go to nearest EPAU, he won't mind and if it just stays as it is, still go to doctors, as could be a water infection and antibiotics needed, which I ended up having and now everything fine.

Good luck and try and sleep xxx

(I just had my usual 2am bladder wake up call Grin)

JaquelineHyde · 10/11/2012 06:20

enjay I hope you have managed to get some sleep.

Essex has summed it all up very nicely and I can't really add to that Smile

It really could be anything and most likely nothing of any significance just another one of those bloody things sent to test pregnant women that leaves the rest of the world thinking we are paranoid, unstable nutters Grin

Morning everyone, been up since just before 5am and decided to come down and get some Uni work done whilst the house is quiet...As you can see I'm getting loads done Grin

enjay0811 · 10/11/2012 08:14

Thanks Essex and Jac I consulted Dr Google after posting aswell and think my very irrational hormones have calmed down a bit after some sleep too. From others experience, its sounds quite common n I did have a mad panic like some looney Hmm the sight of any blood jst scared the shit out of me! Will give the midwife a ring this morning but it has almost stopped now and think it prob was just my cervix taking a bit of a bump Blush

Trishstar · 10/11/2012 09:59

Enjay

It happened to me too but stopped after few hours and wasn't accompanied by any pain.

TMI but me and boyfriend have quite rough sex and the times since that we calmed it down a bit and used KY jelly as extra and it hasn't happened since.

If it puts your mind at rest call MW/Doc but it is quite common.

Xxxxxx Smile

Giddypants · 10/11/2012 10:04

Thank you wishful for you reassurance re the hard bump, I just can't remember this happening so early last time.

enjay they not to worry, I think the middle of the night never helps with rational thinking, get it checked out to be sure, but try not to worry x

20 weeks woo hoo half way!

usernamegoeshere · 10/11/2012 12:29

aww Enjay I've been spotting on & off, its really scary when it happens but loads of us get it still.

I have a confession. I stopped poking my tummy last week since I was scared a bit I'd hurt it but was still a bit worried about not feeling any movements, so this morning I ate an entire carton of ice cream & sat really still thinking that would wake it up. & I think I felt it but now I'm not really sure if its baby moving or general "wtf have I just digested" going on... also, I'm really quite cold & have a sugar high like never before.

ha ha username tht made me smile Smile thanks for the reassurance all. Tried to get thru to mw but as I found out, is impossible on the wkend doesn't help she gave me wrong number so ended up speaking to gynae ward at the hospital who were lovely and really helpful. Put my mind at rest a bit but said to take it easy and go to a&e if it gets worse or get any pain but all ok. Felt like crap this mornin, had a splitting headache and was sick but think tht was lack of sleep Hmm mad panic over anyway, feel a bit silly now wen I think bout all of you tht are having probs, esp mama I really don't no how u stay sane! Hope everyone has had a good day and gets to relax and enjoy sat nite Smile

Crazytictac · 10/11/2012 18:52

Hi ladies

Cannot keep up with this thread! You can seriously talk my friends!

Glad you're feeling a bit better now enjay, my best friend had the same happen to her a couple of times but was absolutely fine. It can be such a worry this baby carrying!

Can't remember who said about the hard bump but I'm getting hard boobs from middle of the afternoon onwards. They are like rocks. On the plus side, they're a bigger, Yee ha! Need all the help I can get on that front.

Rang hospital yest as no scan date and after much faffing and repeating myself endless times I was somehow missed so a nice midwife called me back and said she had dealt with it personally and should hear by Wednesday at the latest.

Still not felt any movement yet which I'm getting a bit anxious about as quite a few of my friends on their 2nd felt movement much earlier. Might have to try usernames method Smile

crazytictac ice cold water also helps get the baby fidgeting. I must admit that I feel a little bit now and then, but not too much. I have a really tender tummy where everything is stretching, so can feel some stretches going on.

enjay It's really horrible when it happens to you, I had no aches or pains, but it stopped quite soon after and I have had nothing since. I was told that it was probably hormones affecting the cervix, like someone upthread said.

DD is still being a pita about the sleep thing. She was awful last night, so she's been playing with her cousins most of the day and granny, while DH and I got on top of the housework. We are now wishing we'd gone to bed for a nap.

My boobs are now two cup sizes and a back size bigger, I've already grown out of the replacement bras that replaced the ones I grew out of at the start of the pregnancy. They are huge, firm and my nipples are itchy, dark and they get perky over most things. As I haven't left the house at all I've had a bra free day and it's been mostly glorious.

Giddypants · 10/11/2012 21:37

crazytictac with DS I felt movement from about 14-16 weeks can't remember exactly this one is much later even though much wigglier on the scans I felt on and off movement from about 18 weeks more consistent now I find that a good swig of cold coke gets he/she moving.

My right boob is really itchy left boob not so much, but mich darker in colour, wonder if it because I've only just finished breast feeding DS Confused he only fed from the left one which is defiantly saggier Blush

Missmuffet28 · 11/11/2012 00:05

kellestar I have a lot of bra free days lately they are just soooo good! My boobs sound exactly like yours lol in the least weird way possible, huge, hard, dark, occasionally itchy and nipples like bullets I wanted to breast feed but now I'm not so sure I would just like my poor boobs to go back to normal ASAP!

Sat here on the sofa moping reading mn on my phone dp on call and got called out and the dog tried to ninja my galaxy counters whilst I went upstairs for a wee, I don't think she got any but the bag was on the floor and the inside of the bag was covered in slobber with incriminating black hairs so I'm def not finishing them off!

I'm gonna give the ice cold drink thing a go see if I can get the bambino dancing, at the mo its only when I keep really really still and quiet I feel it

Hope everyone has a wonderful nights sleep

Love an angry chocolate deprived muffet Grin

Good morning. Despite getting a good night's sleep (thank you, magical Gro-Clock) I'm still shattered. I'm lounging around trying to get the energy to get dressed and I've given DD a banana and a yoghurt to keep her going until I can face making breakfast .

Another one here with dodgy boobs. They've always been big (30G) but now they are veiny and ridiculously itchy. It's a glamorous life!

Good luck to those waiting for their scans. Mine is a week tomorrow and I'm excited/scared!

Hey all, hope your enjoying lazy Sundays! Took it easy yday cos of the bleed scare Fri n felt much btr last nite. Got a bit carried away 2day tho, my hse looks a tip so have done 3 loads of washing, hoovered dstairs, mopped the kitchen, made playdough with dd's n jst bout to go visit my mum for a rest. Dh needs to do a job app so give him some peace and quiet! Dd1 is currently walking round the hse trying badly to play the recorder Hmm

Was looking on net this morning for a dress to wear to my works Xmas party - asos have some really nice maternity ones if anyone is interested! Any of my normal clothes make me look like a hippo atm and have another month till the party! H and m didn't have much, anywhere else any good (not too expensive and fashionable)?

I got a party dress from New Look maternity yesterday. They have quite a few different ones. It's not normally a shop I go into but I am really impressed with their maternity stuff.

Evening one and all, I have had a chock a block weekend starting with locking myself out of the house on Friday evening for hours. We had to call a locksmith and didn't get into the house until gone 9:30. We sat in the car for hours and had chips out of the paper as none of us had eaten dinner yet.

Yesterday we had a Christmas holiday meeting to order all our Christmas shopping and plan travel and bedroom set up etc which was very, very exciting.

Then today was DS's 7th birthday and we have just cleared the house up after his party.

I am knackered and still need to do some more uni work but at least it has kept me busy and not stressing over various baby related things!

Hope you are all well.

sneezy - you're not in your own with crazy boobs! Mine grew a lot, and were very sore, during weeks 5-7 but then were fine (bigger, but fine!) Now I think I'm getting another boob growth spurt! They're sore and my left nipple is always itchy (no idea why just the left one!) and yes, very veiny. My tummy has got quite veiny too!

I've had a v. busy weekend- involving a 6 hour journey on an AA tow-truck! But it's Sunday night and we're all safe and sound. I'm just gutted downtown abbey has finished- I've got nothing to do on Sunday evenings anymore!!

I'm with you with the left nipple thing, ladies. It's a bit crazy isn't it?!

Thanks for all the toxoplasmosis stuff, everyone. I haven't posted for a while but I've been reading it all and it was good to get everyone's opinions. I get my results tomorrow but by the sounds of it it's likely to be negative despite the cats and all the gardening.

Now I'm very jealous of all these tales of vigorous sex. I have to admit to having been totally off it since I got really run down at about week 9. We tried last week and I just couldn't get in the mood. TMI but I don't think the constipation is helping which I still feel like I'm suffering from. Anyone else also gone off it or is it just me? Blush

Hi all. Busy here too, mainly doing home improvement type things. We feel we have a deadline now.

I'm feeling pretty good too so am rushing round getting stuff done while it lasts.

Breasts sore and itchy here too and weirdly my strange sense if smell has come back. Visible bump now making most of my clothes too tight round the middle but maternity clothes still too big. Grrr.

Does anyone else have a long commute by train? I am not sure if the etiquette being pregnant. I am not so bothered at the mo as I feel well but have had a fewincudents of not getting a seat and then being close to fainting due to standung up in a hot carriage for 45 minutes. My bump is not blatant. A friend suggested getting a Baby on Board sign but I'd feel a bit pushy and embarrassed!

Scan a week today. Excited.

wishful Try Homeland. It's excellent. Might be a bit confusing to pick up mid way though.
