bonadea I was THAT woman in my last pregnancy.

Sneezy my nausea/sickness has not lessened since I found out I was expecting. I've puked up so many favourite meals, it's shocking. I puked my OJ back into it's glass this morning. :( I was going to suggest a smoothie/juice drink, to give you something a little filling.

..faithbaby I not only puked in the bathroom sink as it was closer, I had to then puke in the kitchen sink [next closest] as I'd filled the bathroom sink up. That was an awful experience.

I have found that tiredness makes a HUGE difference to the level of nausea I have to deal with. If I go to bed early and get a good nights sleep then I am not so nausea's and can [usually] avoid puking.

welcome cheese

mama I tried to type you a note a few times today, but my ipod is not playing game. Your DP is being a selfish nob. It is for the best that you let him be, it's his decision that he has to live with, you've made the right one to fight for your baby boy to have the best start in life. Your DD and DS sound lovely and are excited to meet their new sibling. You are a strong woman, you will get through this. I PM'd to ask which hospital/ward you are on, if you don't mind disclosing on the board.

I had a letter this morning with the date for my 20w scan, 29th November, Eep!

Regrettably, my mum and dad live 15 minutes away, my best friend lives with her DD a few doors away. My sister, however lives 2 hours away and I avoid seeing her as much as I can, we've never been close as she's so much younger than me. She misses being local as she's a real mummy's girl.

cheese with the work related insomnia... I remember it dearly... I started listening to the birth preparation CD's from NCT and they really helped me calm, relax, think about something other than work and fall asleep relaxed.

SneezySnatcher · 06/11/2012 21:04

kellestar I think you might be right about tiredness making the nausea worse. I'd done a full day's teaching, plus an after school club (I usually just teach afternoons). Ah well, if school ask me to do any more extra mornings I have a good excuse to say no!

I'm sorry you're still nauseous. I remember you were very sick one day (down a door unless I imagined it?)!!! Fingers crossed it doesn't last until 40 weeks.

LoobyLou33 · 06/11/2012 21:23

mama really sorry your DP is behaving like that. I understand that he's worried about your health in terms of continuing with the pregnancy, but it's no way to deal with the situation. It sounds like he's being immature and ducking all responsibility. I may have missed something, is he the father of one of your existing children or appeared on the scene since?

breathless that's tough to have your DH away when DC2 is little, hope you settle into the new place quickly and meet some friendly mums. My sister's friend is in a similar situation and she's managed well but it's not easy.

Sorry to those of you still being really ill, kellestar it sounds awful! I am mostly out of the woods with the nausea and beginning to get some energy back. I managed to walk for half an hour without feeling like I would keel over which is a big improvement! Grin

Our hospital doesn't reveal the sex at the scan! It was the same last time. Anyone else in that position? I don't think we can afford to pay for a private scan, and not really fussed either way anyway.

17 weeks today - almost half way, wow!

Rivergirly · 06/11/2012 21:37

Hi all

wow thought I had felt bubs on the move on Sunday but last night had about 15 minutes of full on wriggling!!! Forget flutters and little movements those just didnt happen at all - with my 2 ds' they started as initial little wiggles but this bubs just went in for full on somersaults and earlier than with the boys too!! Happy mummy now - feels much more real now I can feel the movement - now gonna lie on the sofa and hope for some more swimming tonight!!

Lobby - we are just behind you at 16+5 and I cant believe we are nearly half way either its flying by all of a sudden - think the distraction of so much going on at work and school helps!

Mama thoughts defo with you - glad little bump hanging in there and you have to deal with your DP situation in the way you feel - its easy for everyone to give an opinion but you are living it - going with your gut feeling is always the best plan xx

usernamegoeshere · 06/11/2012 23:14

I'm back, tired though enjoyed catching up! Am still pretty sure I felt movement last Monday but nothing since, so maybe it wasn't afterall. Is my first so I guess its still early.

Had a really nice weekend, OH has gotten quite excited about it now and even made a few decisions on things like that he wants a sling to carry it around in rather than using a pram and we pretty much shortlisted names. Oh & he has started talking to it, which I find really cute, not like telling it stuff but having proper conversations like

^oh: can I feel kicks yet?
me: not really, it waved at me at scan though
oh: no it didn't, its too little to wave probably just moved.
me: shut up

OH starts whispering to my tummy

oh: I told it what you said, he says you are a liar & he didn't wave. Also says you smell.^

GAH my italics didn't work. The lil uppy thing ^^ was meant to make italics I thought

Missmuffet28 · 07/11/2012 10:24

username that put a huge beaming smile on my face :) it's the sort of thing my dp would likely say hehe how cute of your dp lol!! And mine waved on scan also, one of the pics I have are bambino sat up with one arm clearly in the air so I have photo proof lol!

Mine hasn't taken a huge interest yet to be honest I'm hoping he will soon now my bump is getting really obvious if I have to moan at him for not taking an interest il be annoyed hehe!

I'm sure I have felt mine wriggling in there but nothing big or really obvious yet I would have thought i would have felt more by now being 17+3 or something more obvious being my second (albeit that 10yr ago!) I don't think I'm worried well i wasnt until midwife asked me how much movement iv had at 16week appt lol I have scan again in 16 days so plenty of time I guess!

Am going to go and try to replace the door mirror on my car now ( my driving has turned into the dreaded pregnancy driving!!!) I have already broken a clip pulling an interior piece off this morning so came in for a cup of tea when I found I needed a screw driver with star shaped end lol!! Wish me luck ladies this probably won't go well!!!

Mama1980 · 07/11/2012 10:28

Morning I hope Everyone is well? See again to those who have sent pm s there much appreciated but I can't access them on here, will reply as soon as I can :)
kellestar I'm sorry to hear about your family situation It sounds a nightmare. Are you going to be finding out the sex at your scan? I hope you got some sleep and are feeling good today. I am in the east of England and on a maternity, pre labour ward most of the time. I'm pretty identifiable so I'd rather not say exactly where on the board, if you don't mind but I'd happily do so on a pm when I get my laptop.
Quiet day here today hopefully, just looking forward to seeing my children later.

growyourown77 · 07/11/2012 10:38

mama hang in there, you're so strong, it's really inspiring how strong you are. Your DP is being childish and selfish. Even if he's scared of losing the baby or losing you, he can't just sod off for now. You've done the right thing creating some space for yourself, telling him where you stand and being clearer in your mind and putting your priorities first. Let him work out his issues and make his own decisions about how he feels and what he's going to do. I really am thinking of you and your amazing baby that's hanging on in there!

welcome cheese!

Ladies who are still puking - I feel for you. Sleep is definitely a good way to minimise it...so go on, have a snooze!

username that's so cute of your DP!

AFM - my bladder saga continues, I don't want to rant too much as I know it's not as bad as your situation mama, but i'm on third catheter now, still no diagnosis, got some urology investigations today/tomorrow, but no idea when I'm actually seeing a doctor next to review it or what the next steps are. I asked my midwife to pop in after work yesterday and she's really worried.

Basically, i'm 16+1 and my baby still hasn't risen out of my pelvis (she says it's more like its in a 13 week position) and she says it's not goo enough that I'm getting no answers and urology have not spoken to obstetrics. so at least I feel I'm not going mad keep trying to push for these things to happen and hopefully she can help join things up a bit and maybe get some answers. We also realised that in some of my paperwork from my ectopic last year it says my uterus is forwards but a more recent v early scan report said retroverted, which gives us a new route to explore (but very confusing and all the Drs to date have been going on the report that says forward). There are some scary and less scary possibilities with this, but I'm trying to stay in the moment.

Here's to better weeks ahead.

Cadmum · 07/11/2012 11:49

growyourown I have had similar though not as bad. My uterus is also retroverted. Has anyone advised you to spend time on your hands and knees with your bum in the air? (I know how VERY dignified that sounds.) Time spent in your belly can help as well as gravity may encourage your uterus up and out. I will try to find a link to a good article.

Missmuffet28 · 07/11/2012 14:35

mama glad it seems you are staying strong you really are a special kind of person!

grow sorry you problems are continuing it sounds really awful I hope you get some answers soon!

Welcome cheese I missed you joining first time round! Wow I can't believe how many there are now when I take a nose at other threads there doesn't seem to be so many as ours!

My day hasn't turned out so bad I fitted mirror pretty much anyway can't get the interior bit clipped back properly but it'll do for now! Cut the grass and now having an afternoon me time before I pick ds up from school I have a nail client in at 6pm so I'm also going to buy us sausage and chips from the chippy or I won't get time to eat so looking forward to a carefree takeaway yum!

usernamegoeshere · 07/11/2012 15:20

welcome Cheese

And Mama glad to hear you are ok, its awful to have to add relationship stresses to an already bad situation though.

Growyourown sorry to hear you are still suffering, I hope they get to the bottom of it soon must be pretty horrible, haha I think you should try Cadmums suggestion though, if nothing else it sounds comical and in fairness using gravity to help things along sounds logical.

usernamegoeshere · 07/11/2012 15:21

sorry just to add, Missmuffet I really really really want saussages & chips now

Missmuffet28 · 07/11/2012 15:34

It's funny how pregnancy does that to you isn't it! If someone mentions something or I imagine eating something sometimes I just have to have it no matter what! One morning for some bizarre reason I fancied mc Donald's hash browns and I just had to go and drive to mc Donald's to get a load lol!!!

usernamegoeshere · 07/11/2012 15:51

now I want Hash Browns :(

Determined to stick to original dinner plan of Spaghetti bolognese though, but tomorrow may well be a take away day at this rate (Macdonalds for breakfast & chippy for dinner obviously)

Shame its never salad I want.

Missmuffet28 · 07/11/2012 16:20

Oh I did giggle but course now my mouth is watering for spag Bol :(
Pregnant ladies are definitely in the hard to please category even if I say so myself lol!

FlaminNoraImPregnantPanda · 07/11/2012 16:31

I want a sausage and egg Mcmuffin, but not enough to drive the 2 hour round trip to get one. :(

Or failing that crumpets, but not enough to drive the 14 hour and sail the 40 hour round trip to get one :(

God I miss Asda.

BonaDea · 07/11/2012 17:09

20 week scan tomorrow, folks. Eeeek! Surely I can't be the first? Will let you all know how it goes.

growyourown77 · 07/11/2012 17:51

thanks ladies, esp cadmum. I will try that pose as it sounds fun and will freak DH out! Grin

The sonographer today said that sh can't tell if it started out anteverted or retroverted, but did say that the fundus was just a little under my belly button, which is pretty high for 16 weeks and the total opposite of the MW's assessment yesterday. BUt a bit of good news among a lot of head scratching still over the bladder side. Nothing pushing on it, so onto the camera in bladder appointment (can't wait for that one) and sticking with catheter for now as specialist urology nurse said to not risk changing that for a bit to protect baby from infection and he's tried to get me to see a urology consultant sooner. In fact, she was so sweet. She said that she'd had an ectopic too and knew how precious this baby way, so a positive NHS experience today. Phew.

So it's just waiting for investigation, putting up the the tube and keeping baby safe. Just ordered the Noppies maternity Parka coat to cheer myself up!

Anyhoo, enough about that, I'm boring myself even... Smile.

missmuffet don't get me started on hash browns. I got DH to drive to supermarket the other night as that's all i fancied and we had a veggie fry up for tea! tonight I have cravings for Pizza Express dough balls so he's going to get himself a pizza at the supermarket and pick some up there.

Have a good evening all and enjoy your munchies.

Giddypants · 07/11/2012 19:23

Evening ladies mama so sorry to hear about the situation your (d)p has put you in when he should be supporting you through a difficult time Flowers

My dad is being an arse, I won't go into it as he has bent my brain so much today I feel like cutting him out of my life, for the next 4 months just so I don't have to deal with his selfish ranting and illogical way of thinking.
He really need professional help and some anti-depressants not that he would take them!

I had a nose bleed for an hour at work yesterday, the aspirin made it worse, it was a good job we were quiet and I could just sit for an hour, thankfully no more fainting.

20week scan next Tuesday 13th

EssexWelsh · 07/11/2012 20:02

Sorry to hear lots of you are having family issues, on top of the normal trials and tribulations of pregnancy!

I had an internal scan today. Following a cone biopsy in 2009 where they removed part of my cervix, so hospital keeping an eye. Good news, cervix appears long enough to avoid a stitch, but have to go back every 2 weeks for a scan and consultant meeting, so bonus get to see baba every fortnight! This is on top of normal scan, so my 20 week is Thurs 22nd and we get to find out the sex-can't wait!!! Have 100% got girl name but not even got one for a boy, so after 22nd will know if we have to start racking my brains!!

Hello ladies!
BonaDea - wow good luck with your scan! I'm so excited for mine next Thursday. Really looking forward to seeing how you other April ladies get on too :)

Mama - good to hear (see?!) you and baby boy are doing better, everything crossed for the next few weeks for you both hitting your target!

Can I just ask if anyone else is suffering with indigestion? I have it SO bad in the evenings. Just attempted to eat dinner and managed about a mouthful before being doubled over, my belly has ballooned with gas and its so uncomfortable.
I'm not sure what is making it worse, but I'm not getting it in the day with breakfast/ lunch/snacks. I did have a glass of juice earlier and I'm wondering if that's the culprit. 4 rennie tablets taken so far today, eurgh!

Sorry to not reply to all, so many names/stories to remember!'

Missmuffet28 · 07/11/2012 21:18

likecandy me!! Iv never had indigestion or stuff before but everything repeats on me now cups of tea glass of water any and all food mines not as bad as you describe yours I can eat my tea but for the 2-3 hours after I'm getting this repeating feeling, I physically cannot burp I don't think I have ever burped, no word of a lie! (Tmi, gas generally has to come out the other end Blush ) so this repeating feeling is really odd and in some respects I wish I could just let out a big burp I think it'd make me feel sooooo much better! Thinking about it maybe that's why sometimes my stomach looks so bloated too
